Here you go. I ripped the free version from my EVO.
I installed it on my Flyer so it does work.

When we get root then we can fix this with the market enabler app... I can't wait for this to happen

Cheers dude, I have it already I'm just surprised bloody HTC grrr I guess I'm used to cm7 or other custom roms.
A little disappointed with a few apps on flyer like engadget app its a little small!

Did you do the compatibility tweak in spare parts? That should make it full size.

Damn it I'm soooo stupid! I'd forget my head, I forgot about spare parts! I'm so used to it coming with custom roms
Cheers dude

Hi mike, can you share your expeience on ADW or Launcherpro?
Does the font on ADW bigger than sense? Smoother? Any screenshot to share?
Did you use clock from Fancy widget? Thanks.

I can't talk about adw, but I am using launcher pro on mine. So far I'm really loving it. It's just as fast and responsive as sense if not more so. It makes better use of the screen with smaller icons, and more compact layout in the app drawer. On top of that, the pen still works in the few places that it worked before (albeit there are only few places that it does work -_-)
There is little difference between adw and launcher pro on my book so I'd expect them to perform similarly on the flyer as well, bit if nobody has tried by tomorrow I'll install it and give it a try.

I tried the LP on my HD2_SD_Android with sense build, there is no performance different on LP with CM build. But those apps that from sense (eg SMS) with small font will still be in small font. I was hoping it will change the font size when in LP but it actaully doesn't.

ADW EX is available from the market... Need to pay, but worth it for the desktop real estate.

But what about the Icon size?
I tried installing Launcher pro, but the icon is too small.
I actually would like to see GO Launcer EX in the market for Flyer

This is my concern as well and have cause me to think twice on buying this Flyer.
Can you help confirm/share whether is there any effect/change after using the Spare part and change the LCD density? I am hoping and looking forward the customer ROM to replace Sense with CM7.

Sorry mate
Neither I use Spare part nor change the LCD density because I havent rooted my Flyer
(I understand that the LCD density can be changed via build.prop, but you will need Root Explorer, and to use Root Explorer, you need to root it, unless there is other way to do that)
Cheers

Thanks for the advise, I will continue to hold my purchase decision until it get rooted. If not, I may switch to Samsung 8.9" when launch, or even Huawei Mediapad (the spec is very attractive. 7", 1.2GHz DC...) or may be SGT 7" (I played it at one of the shop yesterday and kind of like it though the speed doesn't seem to meeting 1GHz expectation but good enough and I read that this is 2nd genration of 7" SGT)

Vanilla launcher not working on EVO 3D

I cleared the defaults to the launcher so that I could check out the vanilla launcher vs. Sense and it is super buggy. First, all of the apps are pushed over to the left so they are literally off the screen and the touch response is not working well. Is this just due to it not being optimized for the phone yet?
Sense is much improved, but I have always loved vanilla android. Let me know if anyone knows.
I just downloaded the free gingerbrad launcher from the market. It worked well!

I am using Launcher Pro Plus and it's great with this phone. Super fast.

Please try to keep dev clean. As for launcher, I installed adw ex. It works perfectly.
Belongs in Q&A. Keep the devs forum clean and read the forum rules before posting.

Yeah, I know. I wished we didnt need root to screenshot, thats what I meant
Is anyone else getting really bad lag on lpp opening up the app drawer? I've noticed this right as soon as I got the phone, I've been clearing up and had over 600MBs free and the lag has still been very noticeable to me.
I did notice a bit of lag there.
I'm switching back and forth between sense and lpp.
The new sense is really pretty but I miss scaling the widgets and customizing the bottom bar. I love the little 3d effects though...

Launchers for the Flyer

I just picked up the Wifi Flyer from Best Buy. I have never been too crazy about Sense. I use Go Launcher on my Inspire but wasn't sure if it was truly compatible for the Flyer (even though it's not running HC).
Is GO good to run on the Flyer or does anyone have any other suggestions?
All launchers work, unless specifically stated by the author.
Try launcher pro. It's really light and snappy.
Stupid question perhaps, but is it possible to have a launcher with HTC widgets? Or, perhaps a hacked sense? I'm new to the whole sense thing...

LauncherPro Plus has Twitter/Facebook/Friendstream/Calendar widgets and you can apply Sense skins on these widgets.
IMO the LauncherPro widgets works better than the Sense widgets, but I'm actually contempt with Sense on Flyer so fat.
Check VTL.Launcher.
This Launcher is designed with landscape tablets in mind! (that's not to say it doesn't also function well in portrait mode..... as it does)
First off this launcher is based on ADW.Launcher's Source code so I would like to thank anderweb for all the ground work.

Hmm, it's been a while since I've used LP. The paid version was good but it made my droid lag so I had to go to ADWpro. However, I'll give it a try on the Flyer. thanks.

It's faster than stock (thanks to the 200mhz bump ). However, the LWP still stop when switching screens.

New launcher!!

ok, if your like me then your looking to replace the stock launcher on a daily basis but have yet to do so because they all run with a degree of lag. (except tw)
Well good news!
There is another launcher i found to work very well with the galaxy note and it is called "aShell" - It's based off of ADW
It has a lot of similar features....... heck.... it looks strikingly similar.... almost a clone! I found it to use less memory and it is almost lag-free (i have widgets all over the place on 6 homescreens, btw). Plus it has quite a few features that ADW doesn't have ...... oh, and use the "scatter" transition - it's pretty neat.
Anyway, give the dam thing a try!
************EDIT********
Go Launcher 2.81 is available on the market. I suggest everyone try it. I am running the V6 Supercharger 1000hp setting with Go and it's the best so far... runs almost perfect on my note... with 6 homescreens full of widgets. GIVE it a.... GO
And if it works for you, hit the "THanK" button

thanks for this....always like trying new launchers....just installed and wallpaper scrolling works on this one.
will test this for a few days.....I am a hardcore ADWEx user.
yeah, i'm sure a lot of us will be please with it. i came from go.... using adw till they optimize but then i found this lol... my only discrepancy is the app drawer. but i can live with it for now.
will def try this out......
Edit: i still noticed lag in the app drawer.
adw ex didnt have that. im using go launcher right now, just switched from Spb shell. and will give this one a full test for a couple days and see if i can get ti run smoothly for me.
thanks for posting it up, im always looking for new launchers.
likewise... the launcher is the alpha-omega of the android experience in my opinion.
I've posted feedback to the developer with regards to the app drawer - I believe the launcher is still in the alpha stages, but it has a lot of potential.
I like the different features like the dock icons... if you drag each one of them up they pull up something different... like the phone pulls up the photo contacts and such.. These guys are definitely thinking differently.
yeah, some cool features.....
does it support vertical app drawer scrolling? I didn't see it. But I am at work so I am looking quickly and trying to be productive.

I thought android apps came with a 15 minute return policy? You could always try it and request for a refund.
Although, I don't see this particular launcher in my market, I can see it on market.android.com but not on my phone.
I think nemus is smoother and the dock can scroll to allow more apps in the dock and the app drawer will loop screens

Trials are pointless because you can download the cracked app or crack the app and install it (like SPB Crack) for free.
I have done this with apps like widget locker, but when i found myself using them all the time i purchased it. That's my way of weeding out the bull$hit... "create-a-trial" lol

This launcher was first released mid-december 2011 - it's still developing.
I haven't tried nemus.... (might install and give it a go)
didn't like nemus....I am a launcher whore and I usually try them out as soon as I see them.
I'm not paying 17 bucks for something I can only test drive for less than 30 minutes. How the h*ll are you suppose to evaluate it in 15 minutes? Maybe if you are hopped up on speed, redbull or something, but most people can't evaluate it
in 15 minutes.
I don't go for cracked software, but I might just to see how it works for a day or two. If I like it, I'll buy it, but most likely it will end up being removed and forgotten.

Oops meant to press quote, but you could try using the stock HC launcher. I like that the best out of all the ones I've tried

I think he meant the stock honeycomb launcher, not the stock htc launcher. The stock honeycomb launcher does not have wasted space, the other two I'm not sure about.
Ah yeah I saw a "t" in there that wasn't there lol. Yeah I saw the team syndicate one and I tried it out, only problem is it was kinda designed for gb and froyo so it has a virtual notification bar that can't be disabled... However that was the free version it might be able to be disabled on the paid I dunno. Anywhere on XDA I could just grab the apk for the actual stock launcher and install it?

GO Launcher EX is good. Has lots of features that most Launchers don't
But I always miss the glorious sense widgets that you cannot get any where else.
Honestly I've warmed up to the sense launcher a bit. Its basic and bare but the cool animations and awesome sense widgets make it worth using. As far as real estate, Go launcher HD had the issue too, just seems to be a honeycomb thing so whatever really. Think I'll just stick with Sense for now!
yea go launcher HD (beta) is a nice alternative to the stock or htc launchers for sure. just started using it today and really like the folder support
it's not on the market u'll have to search around for it

No grid alignment for icons they stay where you put them, Lasso tool for arranging icons ala Bumptop Style. Loads of sweet screen transisitons like roller-Icons that is just soooo slick. The special animated widgets that add a bit of style to your screen.
To me it's more than just a launcher its a full desktop replacement with it's own language for interacting with your device.
I like to think of it as how Windows 8 would of turned out if Microsoft had been using it's brain!
Tell me, where is notification bar? I cant see it anywhere

Absolutely no offence against TSF (as it REALLY is a nice programmed launcher and I deeply respect such works!!), but what you just summed up was my experience as well...being just "cosmetic" stuff without any added value compared to my nova launcher. Some might love such stuff, for me it is just way too expensive for just having "roller-Icons" or "special animated widgets".
Not my stuff at all
i really like the animation and feature, but 1 only issue.. i can't find the option to change height and width margin on the apps drawer? all i can find is only changing the rows and column.. it looks messy from what i saw.. any solution guys?
