[Q] Unlocked 225-0059 vs 225-1465

Looking to purchase a Dell Streak 5 Unlocked and I find two version of the "unlocked":
On Amazon.com or Ebay, those selling as "Unlocked" for $300 or so report that the Order Details or Packing list show Item Number:
225-0059 Streak UMTS Base
However, if I go to DELL website and configure an Unlocked Dell Streak 5, it lists in order details:
225-1465 Streak UMTS Base, Unlocked
What is the difference between these two units? I find those selling and advertising as Unlocked and 225-0059 got them for $99 with new Dell laptop priced $699 or more.
Is the only way to get a truly unlocked unit (225-1465) to buy directly from DELL at full price?
This must be a real stumper--posted on 3 forums and nobody has an answer!
Sounds like the first was originally locked then unlocked by 3rd party while the 2nd is unlocked from the factory.

[Q] Foerign(Korean) Multimedia Dock or Lapdock, ATT phone?

I currently use a ATT Atrix, and I get to go to Korea for 2 weeks,
and I'm kind of going to get a HD Multimedia Dock, OR a Lapdock while I'm there(Its cheaper)
So, I'm really wondering if the ATT Atrix is compatible with the Korean HD Multimedia Dock.

[Announcement]Dell Venue is no longer available in US

Like title says, Dell stopped selling the Venue/Venue Pro on their web store recently.
The only devices still being sold are the S10 in china and the SPro in china and recently launched in Japan
This may be temporary, as there was an issue with the store that allowed some buyers to purchase $1 Dell Venue phones without a contract.
Even if it was, we're nearing the natural end of the venue's lifetime anyway.
Besides the fact dell kinda forgot to give support for it, it's already a year and change old. It launched before the S7 and the S7 stopped being sold before the V.
No surprises there. Venue was stuck on 2.2 and Dell had no interest in upgrading it ever. Which is a darn shame, it was a really solid phone built-wise.
If dell bothered to release 2.3.6/7 for 00 region devices instead of just 2.3.3 for 14 (kt) devices I wouldnt have any complaints.
While the V SHOULD get ICS because it's only a lil over a year old the internals are much older then that. There's very few/no 1st gen snapdragons getting ICS officially.
It's pretty much just that we're stuck on 2.2.x officially for a device that isnt that old.
Even that much is a streach, as the Streak Pro is only days old and it's still only 2.3.5 and not 2.3.6/7
erikgrad,
can you elaborate further regarding your reason why Dell stopped selling them on their website? Do you work for Dell? I was looking to purchase one online but it's no longer available. I am hoping Dell resumes selling them.
well....
Then Dell will be cut service for Venue...

[Q] How do I turn the Walmart WPDN into a regular tablet?

I purchased one for my youngest daughter and want to get the market on it. it runs android 2.1. Any help is appreciated.

What do you use your tablet for?

Hey,
I was just wondering what do you do with your tablets? Do you use it for entertainment or work? I wanted to get some ideas so I figured out I'll ask here.
Thanks for the answers
so only after a couple of days
So I bought the M5 10.8 LTE (CRM-AL09) 4GB / 64GB and I can tell you what I bought it for and used so far. Does that qualify to your question?
Short version: I use it as a cheap LTE connected laptop.
Long version:
The problem I was solving was the weird way USA T-Mobile charges for lines meant that in the family plan I pay for, 4 lines cost the same as 3 lines and so I was left with a T-Mobile phone line SIM in a dual-SIM phone doing nothing the vast majority of the time, as I have ATT line from work, so I was looking to move my T-Mobile SIM to something which could make a difference. Most laptops or tablets with LTE require a data SIM which costs something, a big phone can use a phone SIM which is cheaper or for me effectively free.
I already owned a Nexus 10 I used when home, I'd replaced its battery so it did a good job or being at home on strong Wifi (Nexus 10 Wifi is crap) and just watch videos or just use Chrome. So a high-res 10" Wifi was covered.
I already owned a Nexus 7 2013, I'd also replaced its battery, for pocket-size 7" size.
I already had a Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus which was a 8" Wifi. So 8" Wifi was covered.
So I figured I'd go for a basically massively big phone so when not on Wifi I got a laptop type size device, without paying for a tablet data line.
That means for me its a laptop when on the move which is independently LTE connected. I have a 128GB SD card so its got lots of downloaded media.
Entertainment... Internet, YouTube, videos, ebooks, private mail.

Hi, I have 8.4" Mediapad and it's my main driver. I use it mainly for watching online videos, web browsing ect whilst on breaks at work. Also use it as phone. Best tech I've bought
It's my every day phone. I use it for everything...just wish it had an ear speaker. Great for videos and media. Call quality could be better but otherwise, a great device with 4G capabilities in the U.S. (STH-AL09.)
