Just some strange behaviour in regards to my calendar. I added a bunch of entries in my Google Calendar, which synced fine to my phone. But I deleted all entries in Google, did a number of manual syncs and phone reboots, but the entries are still remaining in the phone calendar. They are completely gone in Google Calendar.
Any ideas?
Well I went through and deleted all the data from anything Calendar related which removed everything, now it's syncing with Google. However, it doesn't show my "Other Calendars". I have simple calendar widget which displays my other calendars in the options, but the stock calendar doesn't show them at all.
Edit: OK it looks like an issue with Facebook birthdays export. Just created a new calendar, exported the Facebook birthdays into this and all is good. Not surprised Google and Facebook aren't playing nicely!
I have this same problem, and I want to delete 'the data from anything calendar related'.
How do I do this?

in Google Contacts, i have activated the "Contact's Birthdays and Events" calendar. while i can use this calendar for example in Thunderbird or even the old mobile, the calendar won't load in the SGS2's calendar app - it is not even listed as calendar at all.
some calendar widgets from the market do list the birthday calendar as "inactive", which probably means that it's currently not synced. other Google Calendars like "Week Numbers" work just fine, so it seems that the birthday calendar is not synced on purpose. from reading forum posts, it also seems possible to use this calendar in other android devices...
has anyone found a way to get the birthday calendar to work with the SGS2?
When I'm trying to create an even I get a message "Local calendar cannot sync with google calendar. you need a google account"
Well.. I have a google account and I have the calender marked with sync active and in the calendar settings set my google calendar as the only calendar.

I get the same but if I go into Google Calendar and sync, I am able to save the event.
The same issue for me here..
I create an event in the phone calendar, then I go to web Google calendar to check the event, and it's not there.. Even if I try syncing manually multiple times..
It's strange behavior because sometimes events sync and shown in Google calendar immediately when created in the phone..
Is there a fix for this issue ?
I had a slightly different message and figured something out, mine was
"Google calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies. Use My calendar to sync with Kies"
AND
"Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. You need a google account"
It then gives me the option to go to accounts and sync, when I do so the calendar gets stuck with the syncing.
But when I create an event it syncs to my google calendar. So I just set it to ignore and things seem to work fine.Anyone else?
Im trying to sync my contacts and calendar from the phone to gmail so its available out there in case I need to pull it down to reset/new phone etc. I finally figured out how to get my freaking contacts out there. But the calendar is still not showing up on my gmail account calendar online. I only have the one calendar on the phone, everything is checked and it acts like it syncs, no errors, but calendar is blank online gmail. What could be the issue?
I just read that one person stated you can NOT sync from the phone calendar to gmail, only the other way around...this cant be true.

Its not true. You can sync between your gmail calendars fine between phone and gmail. But the samsung also adds a new calendar in the Calendars app called "Samsung Calendar" and this does not show up in gmail. At least from my experience.
Same issue here. Except I think I'm trying to do the opposite. I'm trying to get what's in my gmail calendar to show up on the phone's calendar and I can't figure out how. When I open up the calendar app, I have "My Calendar" and below that I have my gmail calendar. If I put a checkmark on the gmail calendar, all my events show up, but if I remove the checkmark and only show "My Calendar", obviously none of my events show up.
Is there any way I can move the events in the gmail calendar into "My Calendar"?
Actually you just said the same thing, so it does appear you cant sync the phone default calendar with gmail, at least not sync from phone to online, only the other way. Why the hell would there be more than one on there? Sorry coming from an iphone pretty much you had the calendar app right there on the home screen and the S3 is the same, but sorry this one doesnt play well with google?? Ok so is there an easy way to sync the phone calendar with the phone gmail calendar, then sync it online?
Dont get me wrong, I will not miss the iphone at all, just seems some simple tasks should well, be simple. Thanks guys
Anyone finding inconsistencies in synch between Google Calendar on the phone, and on the WEB?
Scenario 1
I created an appointment, and by mistake put it on My Calendar instead of the Google Calendar. I edited it and changed it to my Google Calendar, but it would not synch. I deleted it, and re-created, and it then did synch.
Scenario 2
I created an appointment on my Google Calendar. It did synch to the phone. Then I deleted the appointment from Google. That deletion will not synch, and it remains on my phone.
Both above happens, no matter how many times I tell it to Synch from the menu.
A two-part question: I somehow synced all my Facebook events to the Samsung calendar "My Calendar." As I have about 600 Facebook friends, the thing is filled with birthdays, and it just overpowers the calendar. Anyone know how to clear "my calendar" so all these birthdays are gone (I don't mind clearing everything if it gets rid of the birthdays) And part two, obviously, is I don't want Facebook to sync with my calendar in the future to prevent this problem. I have sync for Facebook disabled in settings, but somehow all these birthdays are getting added to "my calendar" regardless. Anyone know how to prevent that?
