[Q] Can I increase the display brightness in camera mode? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it normal that auto-brightness doesn’t work in camera mode? It is very hard for me to use the camera properly in stronger sunlight outside, the display is too dark and I can’t see nearly anything.
I’ve only found option “visibility outside“ but it doesn’t help much + this option is also disabled by default every time I start the camera again. Is it possible to somehow increase the display brightness in camera mode? Thanks

[Q] Lock Exposure, Shutter and ISO?

Since the SGSII has a pretty good camera I was wondering if it is possible to manually lock exposure, shutter and ISO settings?
With a full HD resolution I would like to get some nice filming done but without the camera automatically adjusting settings. It ruins the look.
Maybe there is already software out there which I havent found?
Cheers!

The main thing is seems that you'll want to do is to manually adjust the white balance rather than keeping that on Auto.
Exposure lock: There's no exposure lock. However, you can manually adjust the exposure value. So if you want to shoot something bright, you can lower it. If you want to shoot something dark, you can increase it.
Shutter speed. There's no way to manually adjust the shutter speed. (So you can't capture something like a waterfall with slow shutter speed to get the motion effect.) Like most non-DSLR cams, the shutter speed is automatically adjusted depending on lighting conditions, flash, and ISO.
ISO. Yes, ISO can be manually adjusted.
The cam is great and can probably replace most people's dedicated point&shoot cams. But it's definitely not as versatile as even a budget DSLR cam.
The camera changes exposure wile you are shooting. That my problem is.
When I walk out of my flat with my camera switched on I don't want to see the automatic exposure correction. Dunno how to describe but have you never seen the effect when you pan from a window to your wall? It must be possible to lock these settings to eliminate the automatic correction.
What I like to see as an option is the autofocus, I got lot's of refocussing in low light conditions when focus was actually perfect
Also would be really awesome if you could set the exposure time to image starry nights, I mean, the device is called Galaxy is it not
Unfortuanely I am not a developer so I cannot contribute to these options and can only hope some cool devguy with the knowhow has the same wishes as me

[Q] Front Camera

I am running Snow Jelly Bean 1.1 Rom
I was hoping that when I installed this new rom that the front cam would improve. Here is my issue. When I use the front cam in video mode, indoors it is very dark, even with the brightness all the way up. I know the camera is capable of dealing with indoor light because the front camera in camera mode has a "night scene" mode that works fine, but it is not available in video mode. Does anyone have any idea how to increase the light sensitivity in front video mode? The auto white balance mode does nothing (sucks). Need a night/indoor mode or a way to manually do it. Thanks.

[Q] Outdoor Automatic Brightness Not working

Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone else on here is facing the same issue? Or if this is working flawlessly for everyone?
When I have the phone on automatic brightness and go outside on a sunny day, the display will occasionally turn on the maximum brightness mode, but only for about 2-10 seconds and then it goes back to the standard maximum brightness that you can manually adjust it to. It also doesn't go back to the super bright mode after no matter how long I have tried to get it back. I even aimed the screen right towards the sun in hopes the screen would get bright again. The super bright mode works maybe once every time I turn the phone on, and then immediately turns back off, after a few seconds, extremely frustrating.
Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Maybe there is some way to manually activate the outdoor mode?

Thanks
I also want to have this function manual enable but at the moment I think they don't care about this. The screen is too dim compare with other top phone. I have 2 lg g5 and I think that is the reason I am gonna sell both phones.
It may be too dim in Auto but the maximum brightness is bright enough. I don't need to burn my eyes. The maximum brightness is already too much for day-to-day use.
I do wish :
1. that 100% will be the true 100% of this screen - meaning the brightness boost I get in the sun.
2. the in the display setting, I could set the auto brightness to be + X% of the default value. For example, if I set it to +20%, then if the usual auto mode sets the brightness to 50%, it will actually set it to 60%.
Overall this phone is solid, fast, camera is amazing , sound is good ..Sure, a 3500mah could have been nice but I'm happy.

question about slow mo camera mode?

Every time I try to use it, my camera gets really dark. So I effectively can't use it indoors, even if all the lights are on. Am I missing some setting that's causing this?
Hey mate, its because the slow motion needs lots of light which means the light intake for the camera to process it in a slow motion is much larger than the usual.
so the best advice i can give you is either use it in a outdoor setting or use a flash light or some light source

how to increase the brightness of the rear camera

Hi everybody,
I have PX30 and there is a rear camera installed together with it. I just wonder if there is a way to increase the brightness of the camera (not the screen of the headunit) and reduce some contrast, in other words a way to change the software settings of the camera for a little bit better quality.
Thanks
