Out of curiosity: What do you intend to use Navit for? Is it a GPS-app, or just for maps? It seems kinda cool

As to processor variant - The ARM11 processor in our MSM is an ARMv6 architecture CPU, so the v5te builds should work fine. v4 builds should also work, ARM is usually backwards-compatible.

Omnia Optimized Video Drivers work on Titan

The D3D video drivers from the Samsung Omnia appear to work on the Titan.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416474
They look to be SOFTWARE optimized drivers for the XSCALE platform, not the holy grail drivers with hardware support.
After installing on my Titan (running DCD 3.2.5), the Direct3DDemo, and the Lights.exe D3D test applications run much, much faster.
I swear TomTom 7 is also smoother, but this could be my wishing effect.
It's un-installable if you have issues, though I have not had any so far.
More info on using these on the Titan can be found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=34636
wow this driver works wonderfuly, at least with the test apps. wish i had a before/after video to show everyone. will have to try some other applications to see how they run
even though its only a software driver it is most definatly a step in the right direction

Just Tried Garmin XT
I just installed the Omnia Optimized Video Drivers (who here is going to be able to resist!) and opened garmin XT. Seems to be a much faster map draw speed. I did open it just after a reset but wow! The topo map at high detail setting appeared in an instant! It always had a delay of a few seconds before. Great post! Now to go for a drive to see if the map scrolls smoother!
I should have timed it before I installed the drivers but it can't be in my head... if it is, i want to roll these drivers and smoke em!
DCD 3.2.5 with 3.42.3
Where would i find Doom or Quake to test that?
This Doom Link worked for me with good speed too:
http://revolution.cx/DoomCE.htm
Quake Mobile - No Download though
http://www.pulsemobilegames.com/quakemobile.php
And HTC Pocket Quake:
http://htcfreeware.com/HTC/download/Windows-Mobile-games/Pocket_Quake.aspx
How much memory must we sacrifice to use this?
Is it significant?

I assume if you update ROMs you would need to re-install? Or if I didn't like it I could get rid of it by reflashing?

Nice, THANKS
but is this an actual D3D driver that works with the MM7500 or is it just moving graphic proccessing to the CPU instead?
what about the DirectDraw drivers from this phone? do they speedup 2D graphics on the Titan?

Is there a way to shoot in this version of Doom other than tapping on the screen? I have to press and hold there for about 2 seconds before it actually starts shooting which is pretty annoying...

Heh, the performance of these tools is actually so bad its funny before installing the D3D driver cab.
I decided to see if the drivers were the placebo effect, so I uninstalled the omnia driver, and rebooted my phone.
The D3D tests re horridly slow.
DoomCe was still the same speed though

*Waze* Ver 2.0 Released For WinMo

They implemented a lot of new features in the update. Neat little user powered navigation application. If you're familiar with Waze then go and download the new version... If you aren't.. then give it a shot, best of all.. its FREE!
http://m.waze.com/
i'll give it a shot...sounds nice...hope,many will join that community.
EDIT
Sorry,stupid question...my HTC HD2 ... is it a WVGA Phone oder non?!
What is waze? What is it used for? Any screen shots and introduction?
i tried the latest version WVGA but the screen is distored on my WVGA device

Waze is a Community Based Navigation Application. just go to the website and it explains everything in a lot more depth and detail.... the only issue that Waze is currently having is the "small" amount of people who actually use and utilize the applications features for everyday commuting... The reason for this is not the features or functions... because it has all the necessary tools to become the most used application on a mobile device... but rather because of just how "New" and "Unknown" it is.. if the word was spread and Waze was being used by the necessary amount of people to make the application work... Then it really would become an extremely handy and useful tool for your driving segments.

iam using samsung i8000, previous version working just fine via marketplace, but the latest version have screen distort, i'll try again later.
Thanks. I tried it. But it seems slow. Not the problem of the app. Data from wifi takes a lot of time to pull down. Which seems to defeat the idea of having updated data while you're on the move. I'd imagine it will be even slower when i use wap mobile internet.

can angry birds work on wm?

I love that little fun game ,can the game run on wm?anyway to make pc version possible work on wm?
Sure. Just run an Android port with graphics acceleration on your WM device. Definitely won't run natively on WM as it is written to iOS and Android APIs rather than WM.
Alternatively you can search for a game called 'Huff and Puff'. It's the closest thing to angry birds on wm right now.

It seems that has a name called "angry wolf" game is very similar and "anger bird", but very few machines support WM multi-touch, operating a bit inconvenient ~ but you can simulate a machine in the WM Android, and the format can play the "angry bird” of APK to~

What is the error message? You might need to install CF 3.5 for the game to work.

No it means you run android on your phone.
Ok, but the only Android for the Omnia is ANDROMNIA......can i run Android apps from the marketplace on it? Its not a real rom (Haret) and Android 1.5 Cupcake.
The pyshics engine they use to make the game is incredible. I dont see any tools that could make that type of game for windows mobile. Also someone can do a similar game for free , but then people will say ohh its not the original its missing features. So thats real reason there hasnt been one made for windows mobile.

NO ROM support "location determined" by WIFI?

I have tried the TNT4.40 and VEGAn5.11 rom~ both of them don't support "location determined" by WIFI~
So why developers remove these useful function?
whether they will add it in the next version rom?
thanks!

What is missing from the Vegan-tab Froyo firmware that enables the wifi location feature to work? Is this a kernel module? Anyway to fix it?
(not interested in using a bluetooth GPS device)
Fake location
Check out "Fake GPS Location" in the store. It allows you to manually tell your tablet where it is, in the absence of any GPS information.
My only quibble is that I can't figure out how to auto-run it at startup, so I have to run it manually after every reboot. Not a big problem since at this point I'm not rebooting very often.
in the absence of GPS information~the device should still can locate the position by the wifi information~ for example ipad touch
but it seems that all the rom for g tablet can't perform such function....

Not all but most. I think the cyanogenmod based roms can...I know the earlier cm6 did.

it should not be hard to realize this function in rom?
why most of rom can't?
anyone?~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it's an idea for an app. Is it possible to get list of reachable access points from an app? You can definetely get information about one the device is connected to. There is a depricated URL on google maps you can use to geocode your location. So an app will poll list of accessible APs and will do geocoding + fake location provider. Profit!

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the CM7 based (gingerbread) Roms do this.
thanks~ but it seems that TNT4.40 and VEGAn5.11 are more popular~
is there more bug in CM7 based (gingerbread) Roms than TNT4.40 and VEGAn5.11?
if not, i will try CM7
The framwork for TNT Lite and VEGAn are based on a vendor's compile, so bear that in mind. CM6/7 is a different animal - they are directly compiled off AOSP.
So, for example, if TNT Lite is missing language support (which it is), it can't be fixed by the modder - it needs to be fixed by the vendor themselves. This probably falls into that same area, unless there's a hack that we can add manually.
Yes that is correct cyan mod 7 can!

it is true that wifi location works in CM7... HOWEVER.... do to the way CM7 names it's storage devices, other apps such as TB will have trouble do this naming convention. i also have found that in CM7 if you reboot and choose to reboot into recovery, the device reboots back into CM7 and not into recovery/clockworkmod as it should.

[Q] Application not Compatible with my Device

People, I want to download a particular application, it is not "compatible" with my device, but it works fine, have already downloaded the app from third parties, but this application now was updated and do not found it anywhere, only in the market, but not let me download.
I've been reading about the market hacked, that would allow downloading app not compatible with my device? is to do this?

I tried searching for it on the market via my PC and it too says that its not compatible with my mini so I guess theres nothing you can do, maybe the new release isn't made to be used on our little phones. You could try the market hack but I doubt it would help you because WOW remote might have be written for HDPI (big screens) and not LDPI (our small screens) and so theres no way that it would work.
Its just one of those things buddy, not all apps are compatible with our phones, maybe they're jealous of our awesomeness and don't want to share!!
Then again, I may be wrong (about the compatibility... not the awesomeness)

I'm not really sure what a market hack does, think its to allow you to either to download apps made users of phones on certain carriers (AT&T etc.) or to download/ unlock paid apps... which is NOT COOL and WRONG!!
It won't effect the compatibility problem you having, if its not compatible with your phone then no "hack" will make it compatible, bottom line.
I could be wrong, Google might hold more accurate answers...

It just fools Google into thinking that you have a phone with an hVGA display. A lot of apps meant for hVGA displays works great on a qVGA, it's just that the app developer hasn't enabled it for qVGA screens. So it might work for the app you're trying to download.
I am enlightened
Thank you
