Thank you for the info, BigMike23. I just ordered directly from Tiger and then cancelled an earlier order from an out-of-stock vendor awaiting a new shipment. I don't quite understand how Tiger got its shipment in first ahead of all the other vendors, but I appreciate the fact that Tiger is sticking to the $149 price as opposed to what the vendor using Amazon has been gauging. I could be wrong, but my memory is that as of a day or two ago that price was $289 or thereabouts; this morning it is down to $239!!!

TigerDirect Docks are Backordered
I placed an order for the dock with TigerDirect two days ago. It gave me an estimated Delivery of 08 Jun 2011. Today I checked the order online and it is now backordered, when I called to cancel the order, the Rep confirmed it was backordered with not ETA of when it would ship.
Found a dock at MicroCenter in Columbus, OH, they have four more in stock currently for store pickup.
The following MicroCenter stores also have stock for pickup only as of 13:50 EST:
Cincinnati/Sharonville - QTY 5
Northeast Ohio/Mayfield Hts. - QTY 2
So Microcenter has a total of 11 in stock in Ohio only...
My dock is plugged in and charging currently!!!
The rep told me they were drop shipping from their distributor (that's why they can't give you ETA).

Yeah the rep did not tell me that. He said he had no ETA, so I checked around and found for about the same price (Actually cheaper since I had gotten two day shipping from Tigerdirect) at MicroCenter! I am happy now as my dock charges...good luck all...
Called them today, the rep said they were due to get "thousands" tomorrow (5/05). I told him I'd call back tomorrow then.

I'm sure he meant 6-6 too, UPS and FedEx don't deliver on Sunday's, however, the US Postal Service will on request.

Just called them this morning, did not even know they where going to be selling them. The said they filled pre orders on a first come first serve basis. I went to the store and pre-ordered there, and received my 32 GB champagne Tablet withen 20 minutes.
*NOTE* they only have the 32 GB Champagne color.
Unfortunately it is a Christmas gift, so I will not be able to give any information on it.
EDIT: They will apparently ship even though it says in store pickup online. Just use the Chat.

i called on the phone and got one.. they are shipping it to me.. he said there was 3 left and he had 28 web chats for the same product to be shipped but i got one of the 3.
Well if you live in Illinois you might be lucky enough to get a Champagne model. They definitely don't have the Grey in-store yet.
I just called for an online order and I was told I'd have to wait until mid-January if I ordered from them.

They told me in store that they would receives a trickle of tablets everyday so I'd call every day as they seem to be the most helpful.
I bought mine from Kevin if that helps.
they charged my card and sent me an invoice.. my guess is tomorrow i will get a notice that it will not ship and i will be out the money and have to wait for them to refund my money.
This is getting ridiculous. They are showing up in flashes at places we never expected from all the announcements, then they are gone before anyone can react!
I've never chased a pre-order like this before - completely out of control....

Got an order in with a CSR. Started an online chat session right after I saw this thread open. Originally the CSR said that they didn't have any of the models in, but then said he'll check one more time.
After a couple minutes, he told me they had 5 left of the Champagne 32gb only. They had originally received 15, but 10 were accounted for by preorder.
He then gave me his telephone number and told me to call right away.
I called, and we went ahead with the order. Luckily, I've already been an ABT customer, so all my info was in the system. Just had to give them my credit card info.
Chose 2-day shipping, and was told I should get it on Friday.
I received a PDF invoice through email, but my order isn't showing up online yet ( crosses fingers).
This is absolutely crazy. I've had preorders in at 5 or 6 retailers, and it's come down to this?
The funny thing is, I was just shipped a gray dock yesterday from Best Buy. Gray dock and Champagne tablet? lol.

Im not sure if this is true but it's seems that only people who chose the highest shipping option are getting their confirmation and tracking numbers, has anybody who just went with the free shipping get a tracking number? Or an email?
It went by order of "first come first serve." I ordered mine on 12/3 with the 2nd day shipping and got my tracking number on the 23rd. It's currently in Louisville, KY headed to Erie, PA. Should be here on Wednesday.

Expedited, not highest, and ordered abut 4.5 hours after they opened this up on friday, about 9 pm eastern time on the east coast, where I am. And got my tracking number about an hour ago.
Also ordered one regular shipping about 7:30 eastern time, an hour and a half before, no tracking number yet.
I ordered on 11/25 with standard ground (free) shipping, got my tracking on the 19th and an ETA of 12/28...

First, I know that you're talking about BB because I've been following that thread. Others will have no idea what you're talking about. BB's ordering and fulfillment is FUBAR. To the point it made the national news. Most likely, just like the original pre-order fiasco, many people that tried to order the Grey unit meant as a swap for screwed up Champagne pre-orders will get a cancellation notice. Even with the first pre-orders, people got tracking numbers only to have their orders canceled because there were no units in the warehouse to physically ship. With BB, you can't say your order's succesful until you see the package show in transit on the UPS or FedEx website. And after the first round of this, there's not going to be a lot of sympathy for people that subjected themselves to it again.
Seriously, no need to created another thread. Just post in the one of many other threads.
Just be patient, im sure they got hundreds of orders to fill and are doing their best.

but people have called best buy saying indeed they have units in... not to mention that they charged me money, last time every bodies charges were pending and then canceled. My money was legitimately taken from my account.

Ordered one at 2:18 central as well, but I agree with this guy. I'll believe it when it gets shipped. This will be my 3rd concurrent order, with two of them getting cancelled as soon as one ships.
As far as I'm concerned, there's no way in hell I'm paying full price and/or tax when Asus ships the CG dock five weeks after the tablet. I'll wait another 14 days to get it from PCNation at the lower price without tax; consider it my inconvenience charge.
No tax for me in California. My pre-order with shopblt.com keeps getting pushed back. If I was sure that this current ETA of 2/7 was accurate, I wouldn't mind waiting, but after two delays, who know when it'll actually ship out.
So I'm willing to shell out the extra $25 for the sure thing.

This is my thinking too. The time I'll spend looking for one at a lower price when (IF) they arrive at other retailers is worth at least that much.

Yup, I'm not counting my chickens yet. I still have my pre-order intact with ShopBLT. If I get a tracking number from Tiger Direct, I'll cancel that order.
Mine did something weird. Went from In-process to Carrier (with note Carrier has been contacted for pick-up and can't be cancelled) then back to In-process. I just got off the phone and was assured that it was not oversold. Like I said, holding on to the old Best Buy backorder until I get a tracking #. Not my first time at the rodeo

My order has a timestamp of 4:03:23 pm (TigerDirect is on EST so about 7 minutes before yours) and it still says "Order Status: In Process - Your order is in process at our warehouse."

Not for champagne. Yesterday was the very first time they went up anyplace and it was only for about 10 minutes on Newegg. All the other dock alerts have been for gray. No one has had or been shipping out the champagnes. That's why I'm still holding on to the old BB order. BB said that Asus said the production on the champagne had been delayed.

I agree but at the time of purchase, Fry's was selling it at $499 and Amazon for $650!!! for almost $700 (tax included), I got both they keyboard and the Prime where Amazon would have been $800 more.

You just have to wait for amazon to offer it as a official seller (how I got mine).
But I get next day shipping for 3.99 with my free 6 months of amazon prime.

Actually, Amazon has never sold the Prime for anything more than its retail price ($499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB). Those inflated prices are by people just using Amazon as a storefront. Worse than the inflated price, maybe, is that you don't likely get the same return policy as with Amazon. Basically, buying from those people is pretty much exactly like buying off of eBay.

I got the last one Fry's has on any of their stores in So. Cal. a couple of week ago. I drove from O.C. (Santa Ana) to Oxnard in Ventura county to get it but luckily I had work to do there so my company (I drive a company car) paid for the gas to go there and get it. My gps doesn't work but I was aware of the problem when I purchased it, that is why I still use a Garmin Nuvi 660 for my gps navigation.

I ordered mine from Gamestop online. It's Going to be here Tomorrow (2/20). I ordered it Wednesday (2/15). It would of been here Friday (2/17) Originally, paid $24 to overnight it. Since I never purchased on Gamestop.com with that expensive of a order & different shipping address from Billing address, the system put it on hold till I called from my Billing phone number (Never received email they said they sent). That was Thursday (2/16). Next day called up, to find out cause still never got my shipping notification email. something happened where kicked that error up again, this time the rep said to ship it's verified. Later that day Friday (2/17) i received the email saying there was a issue to call this phone number. This point I am getting way beyond pissed, so called yet again, lady said no it's all set that she just sent emails out. It will be here Tuesday. So I said that's it, I'm NEVER shopping at Gamestop again. I buy all my games and accessories for all my consoles there. I have PSP, PS3, WII, XBOX 360. Plus I purchase their powerup subscription. She was very apologetic for all my issues, explained why everything happened. Then she have me the overnight shipping for free.

Few hours later I got email with tracking number I go on UPS to check, sure enough it said Monday.

The last person I talked to was great, took care of it & said she will over see my order, do everything in her power to get it to me on Monday, but still said probably be Tuesday, and anything else pops up she would personally call me. Few hours later I got email with tracking number I go on UPS to check, sure enough it said Monday.

Also Amazon said they should have them available on the 24th, that includes prime membership as well. Believe it's the 64GB grey model for the normal price $599

Thanks man. Oddly it is saying my local Game Stop at the mall has stock "been checking for days" lol & swore i checked today. But sure enough it says tonight after they are closed they have some. Gonna call first thing in the am. If they don't i'll order one. I hate waiting, even for 1 day .

Is there a point to linking to another place that it's out of stock?
OP, you should try Staples as posted by skr_xd or Walmart.
Got mine in Staples store with no wait or shipping fee.
Nice tablet but be aware of the light bleeding and battery life though!

That's why I'm hesitating to get it anywhere else but the Playstore. Was hoping the newer model versions will have some of these defects lessened.

That also means that its a bigger headache if you are wrong and the defects are still there. Main reason why i bought it from a store is so that I can exchange/return it without a restock fee and shipping

Beat me to it...Staples has an extended returning policy until Jan 15 2013, so I can return it in case I change my mind or find a better deal unless they price match.
I cannot say for sure but based on information I collected across the forums and in store, It looks like Staples and Walmart are getting two units per shipment, so you can get one if you are persistent.
Just left Walmart here in Abingdon, MD and they had two in the case

Yes, but be quick though or get the one from Staples first before cancelling your order, they are a few units and are selling like hot cake
Staples employees were actually surprised when I asked and they realized they had one in stock so in my case I was kinda lucky nobody noticed it before I arrived.
I know isn't something cheap but the demand still higher than the supply.

Thanks! For some reason my searches for Nexus on Walmart site are bringing only the 7"model.
Just tried Walmart again and it worked just fine. 7:17am eastern time (New Jersey). Showing in stock with delivery on or before 12/24. You might want to check the Staples site again too. They had them back in stock online as of yesterday.

My wife was able to pick one up at our local Staples today. She called and they actually had multiple in stock. Judging from the website we also would have been able to get one from our local Walmart, but we didn't verify after Staples worked out.

Just bought a 32gb from Staples, got 5% discount from their staples rewards and no waiting game!. This thing is amazing. I think it worked out pretty alright.
Didnt notice any light bleed on mine that everyone has been complaining about. I did notice that the seals were cut before purchasing. Manager said when he put the sample up, he noticed it and saw that all boxes had the seals cut. Not sure what it was but just a couple of dust specs on the screen plastic cover but nothing else. Noticed it was turned out a couple of times in the battery stats but no system information was inputted or setup.
Loving this tablet, my first. Just waiting for my case to come.

I got very lucky, ordered mine 12/12 and not even an hour later they were sold out. Mine will be here later today, and i can't wait!!! (btw i ordered the 32gb model)
