This case sucks the outside is allright and will protext but it is ugly and the screen protector is twice as bad both sides are almost impossible to put on without a bubble and even if you do manage to get them on with no bubbles then the adhesive type stuff that makes it stick makes it look dorty and messy its a shame cause it works well and you can only use it once so if you mes up at all you are screwed

good tip, just right now my order on amazon for this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049SVT54 was shipped, do you know how is it ?

never tried it but a lil update tho the back of the phone looks a lil better after a few days of us but the screen protector part is crap

I do not understand why people remove the screen protector in the first place; the phone already comes with one which is perfectly good.

Because screen protectors are ugly crap. The purpose of a screen protector is keeping the screen unscratched during the transportation and storage, until somebody buys the product.
I always remove the screen protector before I start the device for the first time. I bought the device in order to use it not to keep it like a museum exhibit.
BTW, I just LOVE people who buy screen protectors for gorilla glass devices )))

Getting display scratched in a way that cannot repaired except for swapping the display ($$$) is way more ugly, if you ask me.

Yea but you can buy a screen protector that looks clean and cool like it is not even there instead of the original that is ugly and has that little dirty tab that says tear me off I got a great reusable screen protector from tmobile you can't even tell its there I love it and I kept this on the back of my phone cause it does protect it even if it doesnt look quite right its better than a ugly case

It's pretty simple: don't put your phone in the same pocket you put your keys/other stuff in and it won't get scratched) I have mine for ~7 months and I have no scratches on the display.

I bought this screen protector on ebay, but it was amazing. I've been using this for like 3 months now and I have no problems. Applying was easy with no problems and had barely any bubbles. I rate it 5/5.

I got an otterbox of ebay. It came with a screen protector
works great, crystal clear, nice and smooth to the touch, and easy to clean of my greasy hand marks (I work on cars).

I just hate the way the screen looks but the outer part is cool

Screen Protectors?

I was just wondering if anyone had got a screen protector yet and if so which ones people recommend?
SE already applied a screennprotector on the screen. Looks closely and you'll notice it, it's almost invisible.
yea no need to get a new one. no point on having two screen protectors.

With most screenprotectors you can easily remove them by pressing with your nail at the edge of the protector (press it parallel tot the screen). I don't think the X10 protector will be any different.
I think zagg has a invisible shield for it.. but zagg is overpriced!
there's already a screen protector on it?? i just picked one up from rogers today.. and all there is was a piece of cheap plastic with air bubbles everywhere
Yes, screen protectors.
This is the best quality/price protector. from 3M, not glue for stick to the screen, anti-static, and washable, can be remove a put back. No buble.

Sorry, the system does not allow me to put a link.

Remove that piece of bubbles and below that piece is an screenprotector already applied to the screen. Look closely at the edges.
I have just got mine yesterday from Rogers as well. I can see the edging you talk about where it seems there is a protector on it, but after several attepmts, I can not get a corner to lift. I am certain that it is not a removable screen protector.

best way to remove screen protectors is to use scotch tape ~ stick it on a corner tighten it by pulling away from the phone and lift ~ try several time and different corners if it doesn't lift. i've done it with thousands of phones as i used to work @ places that applies them ~ works every time

I do not want to remove it. I'm a fan of using screen protectors as having a permanently scratched screen makes me cry. So I want to make sure I do have one and if not, to get one ASAP. So I tried to lift a corner to see if it indeed does have a protector applied. Even after reading these posts and the link that was directed to me I can not remove this alleged protector that's already on my screen.
It's funny, because I have watched some un-boxing videos and some show screen protectors that came in the box with the device. (Rogers does not) I'm curious to as why that would be if there is one already on the device. Is it that it was an "extra" protector or merely one that was expected to be placed on by the user; where as the Rogers version apparently has theirs already installed by the manufacturer?
It's hard to get a definite answer as people post here from many many different countries. Each x10 launch in the countries has been different in some way. Some with the screen protector in box like I mentioned, some with a 8gb sdcard, some with a 16gb, some with a head set AND the mw600 in the box, some with just the ear phones and no mw600...
So I still stand by my own findings, I can not remove this invisible screen protector, using tape, or the other tricks floating around, making me believe that it does not have a "typical" screen protector that is applied on top of the actual screen. A few calls to various local Rogers stores has yielded zero results in confirmation, with all 3 saying , "No, the x10 does not come with a screen protector in the box" when I ask "what about it being already installed" and they scoff saying they have never heard of that.
hmmm.. if that's the case then i think i should buy a screen protector. mines Rogers x10 too.
Zagg screen protector
I bought the Zagg invisi-shield after i saw one on an iphone. Took me a good 45 mins to get it on with out any bubbles. I think its worth the extra cash as you get full body coverage and it improves the grip - so it doesn't feel like its gonna slip out of your hands all the time (a must for me as i habbit of droping things like this).
Also i'm not a fan of silicon covers or leather pouches - whats the point of spending money on a good looking phone like the X10 and then have to cover it up??? Show it off i say!!!

I'm planning to buy full body protector too because my white x10 looks kinda ugly with fingerprints all over the body
I like my Invisible shield too, no its not so sensitive for fingerprits than the original screen protector.

I have an interim solution - purchase a larger screen protector and cut it down to size. Since this is more of a temp solution until someone releases one specifically for our device, I'd suggest keeping it cheap -- I used this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370450107891&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
It works fine but you really need a dust-free environment to install - every single spec of dust will cause a small bubble, unfortunately. Again, I would consider this a temporary solution to keep the device scratch-free until a better solution is found.
I think I can manage with the 1 that came on there until a real 1 comes out, I would think accessories are going are going to be released soon for the g tablet. hopefully

Bubble Elimination
Out of the box, mine had a terrible bubble problem and I used scotch tape and a credit card to remove the really bothersome bubbles in the middle of the screen. However, is it just me or is the protector a little big? I can't remove two long running bubbles on two of the edges of the unit.

yea i just removed the first layer, the second layer also had the bubble though. however i did what you did with scotch tape and my drivers license, but it is still no where near as perfect as i would like...especially around the edges. when i was in sears about to buy the g tablet i was asking a few questions about it. i asked if there had been many returns and if so for what reasons. this is true, the sales associate said that one guy returned it because it had a giant bubble in the middle of the screen......and they accepted the return. they actually didn't know that it was just a piece of plastic.

When I fist got mine, I had two giant bubbles and for about 10 minutes I thought it was an LCD defect. When was the last time you bought an electronic device and it actually came with a screen protector?
As others mentioned, I lifted it off with a piece of tape and that was that. In retrospect, I should have just squeegeed the bubbles out.

never with a screen protector, just the plastic that comes on it when its brand new. thats all i see these 2 layers as, i assumed the manufacturer intended on the consumer peeling them off if they are shipping most of them with big bubbles on the screen. i just couldn't believe that the guy returned it without examining it first, but what was more surprising was that sears examined it at the store and determined that it was defective. right at first for a second i was like wtf is up with this bubble but i quickly began trying to peel at the edges.
I assume it would be hopeless to try and put it back on, right? Mine looks like it is too dirty to reapply.

Do you think a screen protector is even necessary? My old PDA (Palm Lifedrive circa 2004) never had one, and I never scratched its screen. The screen on the gtablet is what? glass? plastic?

I'm not going to use one, anymore - now that I have a (messy but usable) case, I don't think its necessary. There really is a difference in screen brightness and color with the screen protector I was using.
The only issues is that the bare screen is a fingerprint magnet - will need to carry a cleaning cloth around.

The fingerprints are really something...after a few hours of browsing the forums, the tablet screen looks like some sort of kindergarten finger painting. I will say that the screen works better once you have a nice layer of grease on it!
I bought a box of Zeiss Lens cleaning wipes from SAMS CLUB. 200 little foil packs for less than $10. I keep a handful of them in the case with the gtablet.
Imho I think the grab could benefit from an antiglare screen protector. I've had one on my last 3 phones and it makes them much easier on my eyes as well as makes using the touchscreen easier. I found that with the bare glass or with a invisishield my finger would "catch" when trying to slide it across the screen, the matte texture to the antiglare protector prevents this and keeps it from looking terrible with fingerprints.

I bet if you washed it down with some soap and water it could be reapplied. I just took mine off and it seems an awful lot like the "Reusable, washable" kind I got off of ebay a while ago for an retired phone.
I made a custom case/stand out of cardboard that I am going to publish the instructions and template for when I get back from holiday travels. You could cover it with whatever material or fabric of your choice. With this I don't imagine needing a screen protector.
My tab came with a green cleaning cloth, but no screen protector like others. Hmmmm....all well, guess I will wait till real ones come out.
I found them at NuShield for $25. Look under nushield.com on the specials.php page (I guess noobs are not allowed to post links)

Installed ZAGG invisible shield a few days ago, a scratch already? (or on screen?)

Hi guys, I'm new to Android OS and to Samsung phones, so welcome me! I came from using BlackBerry for years. Never tried iOS, nor owned an iPhone, so I hope I made the right choice.
So there's a scratch already on my phone. I can't tell whether it's on the screen protector or the screen itself... I'm debating whether I should peel the protector off and take a look (obviously losing it in the process).
How do I tell? I'm very obsessed about my new Note, so it's hard for me to not notice.
The screen protector was put on since day 1. The CSR from Future Shop (Best Buy owned in Canada), put it on for me and I sure hope he didn't scratch the screen while applying the cleaning solution, wiping it, etc. before putting on the screen protector (I was watching him do it)... The screen on the Note doesn't scratch easily does it?
im sure its only on the screen protector but that would make me weary of how well it protects. I replaced my screen protector and switched to a sgp protector cause on my original protector the s-pen scratched it....since I switched to sgp I have used the crap out of the s-pen and it hasnt scratched these yet

Thanks for fast reply. What is this SGP protector? I'm going to look into that.
It's a good thing I didn't pay for this ZAGG protector... It was $19.99 lol, they gave it to for free so I'm not so upset about it (as long as it isn't on the ACTUAL screen). I can actually register the product and ask for a replacement (since it's lifetime guarantee), but will cost me $3.99 for shipping.

That's what I've been wondering myself... I'm not sure where the scratch came from because I barely used the S-pen, and the scratch is half an inch long (noticed it on white background).
Anyway, that's what made me to believe that the scratch could be on the screen itself since there is also a little dust particle that I can see under.
Over time, my Zagg looked like it had many scratches and I could not discern whether it was on the screen or Zagg. Eventually, I removed it out of annoyance with the orange peel and tackiness. The Zagg did it's job. I liked other wet protectors more because they felt more like glass and didn't have the orange peel. I'm using a dry SGP now, it's very nice. I'd recommend the SGP over the Zagg any day of the week.

This is another gripe I have about my screen protector... The orange peel feeling and the fact that the S-Pen is HORRIBLE with it. Anyway, I don't use the pen much so it's fine.
I do like it since it hides fingerprints well. I guess I do have to try SGP.. Wet and dry protectors? I'm assuming dry is just the usual adhesive style, while wet is the ZAGG where you have to use the liquid solution?
Here is what my SGP looks like and I have used the s pen alot

Another thing... the Zagg protector doesn't cover the top right side of the phone as well.
While I did not choose a zagg to put on my gnote, I have used them in the past and they can take some serious abuse! Unless you really smacked, it I doubt the scratch went through.
I went with a sgp since it is clearer and for the s-pen. I wanted the s-pen to have as close to a stock screen as possible and the sgp does that very well.

I've used Invisibleshield (Zagg nowadays) protectors for years now on 5 or 6 different devices. Never managed to scratch it. If you scratched the protector, you'd know it. It would have either had to have been something as sharp as a knife, or have taken a pretty good hit.
But, if you see dirt or dust behind it, then the install area wasn't very clean. So, is it possible that the "scratch" you are seeing could be some debris between the protector and the screen (like maybe a hair)?

If it was hair, wouldn't it just show a black line? The "scratch" is distorting the color (more pronounced in white background).

Hey, hope you read this and share if you eventually found out if the scratch was on the protector or underneath after several months.
I have the same exact problem as you, I am seeing some scratch color distortion in white background. Hopefully the scratch is on the protector, not the screen. Problem is I have no way to know since I didn't install the protector myself, unless of course I remove it which I don't want to do right now.
You can always replace it through zagg.com for only the cost of shipping the old one back and the new one to you. To the USA is 3.99 I believe.

Screen protectors suck on the Lumia. Here's the solution.

So I've been using my Lumias for a while with a Skinomi screen protector. These are probably the best options for a screen like the one on the Lumia: the curved design makes regular plastic screen protectors (the only ones with a decent look and feel) useless on this phone, you can't even set them up properly; on the other hand, wet application screen protectors suck really bad: they have that orange peel look and feel, they give you that horrible feeling when swiping and look terrible in sunlight, Skinomi is no exception.
This got me thinking. I decided to go without a screen protector on my 400+ € piece of hardware. Am I just a mad man? Not quite (IMHO), here's why: gorilla glass can be scratched, that is for sure, but you're most likely to get only really thin scratches in the coating (given that you're careful), which can be 100% hidden with a wet application screen protector. So why would you go for one in the first place when your screen is still pristine, when you can still actually enjoy it? When you'll have the feeling that it's getting too much scratched you'll still be able to get a protector and have a fresh start.
What do you guys think? Do you still use protectors on your Lumias? Do you enjoy "freedom" instead? Please let me know. Maybe I'm just too OCD and crazy, but this phone and its amazing curved glass is giving me a lot of headaches. How do you deal with it?

You're not mad, haha! You're just like me, I have a crap one on mine, I really didn't want to put a screen protector on, usually I'm good with my phones, but strangely, on the first day that I bought the Lumia, I managed to put a faint scratch on it, and that cheesed me off. So I put a half-ass martins on. Which is ok.
I've got a skinomi, and I've yet to put it on, I haven't ever put a wet screen protector on any of my phones, now based on your review, I don't want to. So I'm stuck on whether I should bother with putting one on or just taking it off completely and allowing the thin scratches.
p.s. phone currently at Nokia care centre...
Glad to see I'm not that weird Btw what do you mean by martins, maybe Martin Fields? I saw one of those on Expansys but apparently it doesn't cover the whole screen, so it will probably peel off easily like all of the non wet ones...
i didn't use a screen protector on my lumia - actually i've never used a screen protector before (i just know i'll put it on badly).
i also found the rubber-ish case provided is terrible for keeping your phone clean. somehow dust gets underneath it and just makes the phone look horrible.

Actually I think that the original case gets way less greasy than the phone itself (assuming you have the black one), the white one is a fingerprint magnet, but it's glossy so it's very easy to wipe...I also tried a few tpu cases, but they even make things worse.
The lumia it's a fantastic phone with a fantastic Gorilla Glass and a fantastic polycarbonate unibody, why you need to put something on this phone to protect it ???
look there

Maybe because you want it to stay beautiful for longer than a couple months
I've never used screen protector with 3 gorilla glass phones during 2 year time period and not a single scratch.
I've not bothered with a screen protector on mine due to the curves, and the screen is still pristine, although I never keep anything in my pocket with it.
Screen protectors sucks on every phone! I rather take a few scratches than using a protector that takes away all the good feelings from the touch.
In fact I already got a small small scratch. Doesn't bother me as much as a screen protector would though.
I'm using a Zagg screen protector (wet application) on mine. At least it adhered properly around the curved screen. Yes, it does feel different than the naked screen, but that is not necessarily a bad feeling. My $0.02
Well, right now I don't have one on. I have tried every brand, Skinomi, Zagg, Martin Fields and even some cheap one from eBay, but no luck: they either don't stay on at all or look crap with their orange peel effect. Wet ones are even worse: if a grain of dust gets underneath when you install them it gets stuck and you can't take it away by any mean, even washing them doesn't help. I ordered a Gadgetshieldz protector because I heard they're the best ones, but if it doesn't satisfy me I'll keep going naked, I'm sick of this crap, I just wanna enjoy the phone
Don't worry about the scratches guys. It's just the Oleophobic coating.
Anyway to hide those scratches, apply a small amount of clear car wax and wipe it off.
That coating does a great job by the way... my screen gets less finger-printy than previous phones.

Yeah it's actually doing great. When you swipe It feels like you're not even touching the phone, it seems like a gesture more than a touch input. The SGSII I had before had a pretty smooth screen when naked, but it didn't even come close. Maybe the curved glass is helping increasing that feeling too. Day after day the idea of putting on a screen protector on this baby sounds more and more like murder. I guess I'll still be using one of those zagg-like protectors when I go to the seaside tho, sand can still screw up everything. The Gadgetshieldz thing I'm getting will help me through that I guess...
I'm not using a screen protector on my Lumia 800.
When I bought my phone, I wanted to; especially because I had 2 mini scratches on the screen within 24 hours of purchase.
Although it would be nice to have one, it's a bit of a hassle so I decided not to go out of my way to get one. I just try to be careful with my phone and the only cover I am using is the one provided for the body, but I'm even thinking about removing that.

I'd like to go completely naked too, but given the form factor of the back I'd probably screw up the camera. As far as I can tell the glass on the Lumia is behaving pretty well, however you're still gonna get a few scratches in the coating in no time, regardless how careful you are. Honestly it doesn't bother me at all tho: the very tiny marks on the coating are only visible under a strong light, looking very closely at the phone which has to be sitting at a very special angle. With a screen protector I would get much bigger and annoying scratches, plus the hideous orange peel effect, which makes the screen really look and feel like garbage. I repeat, I can't murder such a beautiful design that way. I only hope that I won't get BIG scratches, those ones able to create that horrible rainbow effect. This is probably the only thing that would suck even more than a screen protector, but I'm not just careful, I'm literally obsessed with my phone, so it's highly unlikely to happen. Only rubbing sand at full force on the screen should have such consequences...fingers crossed

I got one of those but it's SMALL. Like 2mm long fairly deep as yo can easily feel it if I want to but its sitting at the edge of the screen on the right side so I never notice it in my daily use. As I said earlier. I rather take those scratches than using a protector as it would bother me more than the scratches I get. Gorilla glass is good but it's no miracle glas by any means.
I managed to drop my brand new phone on the gravel (thank God it's my work phone) and got a really, really bad scratch that really annoyed me so I decided to get a screen protector so I wouldn't make everything worse.
I first ordered a Skinomi and while the fit was pretty decent I screwed up badly when putting it on and I wasn't about to order another one from the US. So I decided to try Copter (Swedish only brand I think?)
While it is originally for the N9 with a cut out in the bottom for the sensor it was in my opinion much, much better. It is a bit smaller then the actual screen but it is so thin, 0,178 mm, that I can barely notice it unless some dust get stuck to the edges.
There is a slight drag when using it compared to no protector but you just have to lighten up your touch and you won't notice. There is no orange peel affect at all and the best thing is that the bad scratch is gone, completely!
I would prefer not having a screen protector at all but since I know I'm clumpsy and will most likely scratch my screen even more I can highly recommend Copter. (If you can get it) In my oppinion it feels and looks ton better then Skinomi. My GF has a Zagg on here phone and in my oppinion that is crap in comparisson, thicker, more drag and an orange peel effect.
Sounds good, thanks for the tip. Anyway I could only find it here http://www.teknikmagasinet.no/db.pl...&title=Copter Displayfilm Nokia N9/Lumia 800&
But actually I don't understand a word so I really don't know wether they ship to my country or not :/
@dannejeanne: ouch, sorry to hear that. How did you manage to put that scratch on it? Did you drop it? If it can scratch that way without a particular reason this kinda sucks...

Received my glass screen protector today

I couldn't stop laughing when I opened the envelope from china. Looks a little thick. I hope its not Plexiglas or acrylic. Either way I suppose my phone is ready for anything with this protector. I'm just guessing they're overreaching a bit on the marketing pitch.
I'll update when I get it on.
where did you order this from? send me link plz! Did you also remove the shatter-proof film already attached to the Xperia?
I have installed a similar one but different brand it's quite good. Very clear and not fingerprint magnet.

I put on mine 5 minutes ago, I had an anti glare one before, and boy is this smoother than anything I've ever put on a phone... It has an effective oleophobic coating so you barely see any fingerprint, and touchscreen works fine, no issues at all.
It is actually pretty thick, but I guess it adds no more than 10 grams so I don't really care, I have a basic gel back cover and you can barely see it even if it's considerably smaller than the screen (talking about 1.5mm all around), and even though the holes for sensors and led are REALLY holes, you can literally fill them with water (I'm joking, but I will try and let you know... ).
Only problem with these protectors is you have to get it on on 1 max 2 moves, because replacing it is a real pain in the arse. Because is thicker and heavier and stiffer than any other screen protector, you can't simply put a piece of magic tape on the corner and peel it off, you have to do it with a nail or something like a guitar pick or it doesn't come off. Hence the difficulty if you happen to leave a freaking dust particle under it (usually at the center of the screen, where you see it EVERY SINGLE TIME you take a glance at your device).
Lastly, big bubbles are non existing, instead there are a million of infinitesimal bubbles that go away with hard work with a squeegee, or the producer claims they go away by themselves in the next few days.
Overall, if the bubbles really do go away in the next few days, I'll be really happy with my purchase.
Will keep you posted anyway.
P. S. If you're wondering, yeah, pen and pencils work just fine, I'd say better, since you don't have to worry about the screen (or screen protector) getting scratched...

I spent way too much on my Armorz glass screen protector, but it fits perfectly and is really thin. good quality and feels like iphone screen. sturdy and slick. some finger printing but wipes off with ease. no problems with adhering except for the corner where I kinda messed it up. not super noticeable but still upsetting given the price. -__-

Quick update: I ditched the glas.t protector and have gone back to a simple anti glare one, branded Nillkin this time.
I hate the foggy effect on whites, but I love having no fingerprints at all, not having to clean it every two seconds, and not having to deal with several points where the micro bubbles never went away.
Furthermore, I found a slice on the glass protector that seems to have the coating worn off (it came that way, I just realised it was there the day after I put it on), and that slice is prone to be the dirtiest on the whole surface.
I tried to wash it with soap, dish soap, alcohol, nothing works.
I took it off and put it on so many times (after the first time there were always one or two micro dust particles that managed to get under there, and you often you only see them in full sunlight) that the lower right corner would bend a little so that it didn't stick as well as before.
Add to that the WEIGHT of the thing (about 45 grams) and the added .4mm (seems nothing, but they're A LOT on a 6.5mm thin device), I eventually took it off and replaced it and will stay with my plain screen protectors for the entire device life.

Yeah after just a few hours I decided to remove the glass protector. It just doesn't stick to the corners and edges properly. And the screen feels a bit unresponsive. I just replaced it with a regular matte protector I have as a backup and it feels so much better. Sigh. I wasted 50 bucks in that glass protector. Sometimes I feel like I made a bad decision getting the XZU having to think of all this protection crap. I never ever needed to put anything on my other devices before and those are still looking fine.

yea i have had to remove mine also, it made fps games unplayable because the glass made the screen unresponsive to multi-touch use it was very annoying. i recommend just sticking with regular screen protectors for this device.
