Just unzip it, rename it to part00.bin, replace it with the existing one in your Data forlder and zip

For EU HD2 the radio 5.66 of my rom I've extracted from EU HD7 is better.
That is for TMOUS users to bypass the problem of battery consumption and avoid camera trick.
It's possible that camera trick will be useless in my new rom but don't sure and it's better if TMOUS users have a TMOUS radio because it will be more acurated for gsm providers and so will consumn less battery too.

Is there a downloadable version of the HD2 5.66 Radio ROM floating about yet? I would be interested in trying this out for the EU version. i.e. *.nbh file?
Have tried this 5.51T radio on TMOUS hd2 - 40-42ma without trick and 5 ma with camera trick. So this radio 5.51T operates exactly the same as original DFT 5.51(without T)(in battery stanby current).
Tested on HD2O 1.12
P.S. Just for information or education - electical current measured in mA or A. Not in mAh or ma/h. Capacity of battery(or other source) is measured in mAh or Ah.

What do you mean by official? Made by HTC for HD2 WP7?
As far as i know HTC did make any official Radio or ROM for HD2 for WP7.

Tested also radio 5.66 (cames with Yuki original ROM) from HD7 - trick doesn't work at all - always 40-43 standby. That is why trick doesn't work on Yuki ROM... I don't think we(TMOUS HD2 1024) will be able to see permanent fix for standby any soon ...........

5.51 is different level radio - it is part of WP7 ROM. But 2.15 is like firmware for HD2 radio hardware. So both must be presented and can not replace each other.
This is strictly for WP7... NOT FLASHABLE
If you don't know how to put this in the "Data.zip" then forget you ever heard about this Radio

i'm meaning, replace .bin is a cooker action or all user can change this "software radio" as they want?

everyone can do that who knows how to use winrar or WinZip. As I said tried 5.51 5.51T and 5.66 by just simple replacing part00.bin and reflashing of course. I have compared 5.51 and 5.51T byte by byte - they are very different but have same date of release.

You don't flash this. Unlike some people I will tell you what you need to do.
Unzip the radio download and rename the extracted file to part00.bin.
Unzip the ROM download and within the extracted files you will see Data.zip. Within Data.zip is a part00.bin. You have to replace the radio part00.bin in the ROM's Data.zip with the part00.bin (what you just renamed from the radio download).
You can either zip the part00.bin from the radio by adding it to the existing data.zip (should replace the one in the data.zip).
OR....
You can extract all the files from Data.zip into a folder (there are 5 files: part00, part01, part03, part04, and part07.bin), copy over the part00.bin from the radio, to replace the one in the new folder. Zip all the files and create a new data.zip to replace the one from the ROM extract. Flash as usual.

Just thought it was better to have one thread in regard to the locked radio included with the "RUU_Hermes_HTC_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10 _108 _Test.exe" update. I was one of the people who ran the full update and have now a locked radio bootloader If anyone has any suggestion or ideas on how to reflash the radio part could you post them here in one place!
Oh for what its worth I don't have any issues with this radio I would just like to be able to flash a different radio in the future

You are able to flash different radio, in NBH format and with bootloader 1.09.

Thanks pof, It all makes sense now! I must say coming from the wizard and universal I'm finding the hermes flashing process allot more hazardous! Theres seems to be allot more effort by HTC to lock the phones down! It’s a real shame as cooking roms and mixing and matching radios with rom is a lot of fun and keeps interest in the phones long after the newness as worn off.
Oh BTW I hope people in the same situation will stubble on this thread instead of posting another "help I cannot flash my radio" post.

Yes that is mine. It is Radio only 1.34 using Des SSPL. I must have not changed the text file so SSPL reports 1.23, but after install the Radio ROM reports correctly and IS 1.34

I prefer the 1.35.00.11 myself since its the absolute latest radio code available fttb. GPS functionality means that if the hardware mod works then this radio will control GPS as well.

NEVER FLASHED THE PHONE BEFORE.
I am not really sure what I need to do up update my Vario 2 (UK) to the latest radio ROM 1.35.00.11, never done it before and really want to enable the GPS.
Hopefully if I get that done I will flash up to WMXL 0.10

I thought that i would upgrade the radio version because there were reports that this would improve my UMTS / HSDPA reception.
It didn't here are my results.
1.34.00.10 Download (1st try)
Tried this one first as i thought the latest might have been buggy. Flashed nicly but the reception defaulted to GSM. Only worked on UMTS when i changed the band to 2100 rather than 850. And then the reception was 2 bars compared to the 100% i usually get.
1.27.00.00 Download (2nd try)
Tried this one next as its the reccomneded "stable" version.
Still go the same results.
1.20.31.10 (Orignal Shipped rom)'
Ended up returning to this rom to get functionality and worked no issues.
Was just wondering if any other AU ppl had these issues ?
And what is the chosen ROM of choice in AU.
I am still plucking up the courage to flash to XDA-Live but if i do my radio should not change because the install does not include a radio, correct.
And one last ? if i o upload to XDA-L does the extrom stay the same and will my unit grab all the op settings that are in the EXT Rom or do i have to load then with a cab that i can grab out of the ship rom?

Hi Shaun,
I suggest you have a read through the threads and the Wiki, you'll find most of your answers are in there. XDA Live does not contain a Radio ROM so will not affect that side of things. Personally I recommend putting in your provider settings manually, as that way you know nothing will stuff up due to any funny files in the CAB!
I suggest you try the new radio ROMs again when you're running WM6, perhaps you've got issues with the icons displaying incorrectly depending on your radio version. Personally I'm using 1.35 without issue, and its been better than anything else, but then again I'm not with a provider who prides itself on making its own stupid frequency decisions just to be awkward

im using the trinity radio 1.35.00.11 with NextG and also Vodafone and the HSDPA reception is awesome...
what ROM version are you using now??
xda-live does not flash the extended ROM... so you can use HTweakC to unlock it and use the cabs.....
I use Blackberry so my device is connected via UMTS on Telstra all the time. I had upgraded to 1.35 radio because of the reports of it's increased reception.
Well the battery drained in about 5 hours so I am reverting back to the original rom which gave me 24-36 hours battery life with UMTS active.

Thanks for the response guys. Ive read the wiki and have taken it in, just wanted to check.
I have now reverted back to the orignal radio rom that was shipped with the unit which is 1.20.31.10. Its a pain i am with telstra but there is nothing you can do when the company has 30od services with them.
Was going to load the trinity mod but does this mean that i need to super CID the device. As i got a country ID. This means i will void the warrenty. Is there a way that i can do it without the super CID.
Err... the Trinity radio version in the Wiki (which I hope you're getting from the Hermes Radio Rom wiki page and not the Trinity page!) is bundled with SSPL which means you don't have to worry about CID.

yes you need to run SSPL on your device before you run the update....

.. but because the 1.35.00.11 radio only package from the Wiki is already bundled with the modified RUU updater which pushes SSPL to the device automatically, he'll only need to run the ROMUpgradeUt.exe
Edit: Actually with the 1.35.00.11 package, you don't even need to do that - just run the .exe you download from the Wiki and follow the prompts! What could be easier!

Just flasshed with the 1.35 Rom and it seams that its got Less reception than before. Onlyt by a bar and this in my current location. I have set the abnd to auto and will see how it goes will update ina day or 2.
I've extracted the radio ROM from latest Trinity ROM and packaged here as a standalone NBH radio upgrade:
HERM_RADIO_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL.rarThis radio has HTC_BOOT 0108 and GPS enabled.
Keep in mind that the safest procedure to upgrade your radio right now is:
Flash Hard-SPL v1.10.Oli on your phone
Flash the desired radio upgrade using the RUU package
Both steps have to be done with phone connected to computer through USB cable and activesync enabled, Des SSPL will be pushed into your phone when the RUU starts.
Remember that when flashing a radio only you don't need to hard-reset your phone, so no data will be lost.

Pof ,I understand 1.10.Oli will somehow protect us from bricking device by flashing a wrong radio.But since it is base on 1.04 ,so it will not support Radio BL 0108,so if I am now having 0108 here,and I flash this rodio 1.38,and I got a bad flash,I still can not repair my device.Is that right?

@qvik123: If that happens you have two options to unbrick your device:
1) wait for a hard SPL based on 1.09 (which AFAIK Des will release soon), once you have it reflash the radio again.
2) You will still be able to flash an OS only because hardSPL will still keep the "fake" SuperCID on your device, so flash a OS image with KITL enabled and then use the KITL mehtod to unbrick your device with Platform Builder.
By any means, if **** happens do not overwrite 1.10.Oli with other bootloader.

I know, that you just dump this rom from device, but it is really nice to know, if it is necessary. perhaps we should created one special thread with differences between versions, to better orientation (sorry if I miss this one, but I think at this time doesnt exist)... guys - thx for your work anyway

yes, the question is really simple. but there is one more think you can do... read all this thread, and also this one. all necessary information is in there. and if you dont want to have 700$ paperweight, I really recommend to read all information about flashing procedures in wiki - here before you start. in any case of question or problem, do not hesitate to write some posts, but if anybody ask similar question like you, without some reading, which, yes, need a some time, then If somebody want to find any relevant and usefull information, must read about 60 % pointless posts... it is nothing personal, just for your info. forums is about people, and people keep forums alive.
you did not provide us any information about you current version of OS/ROM, BL version, for me it was easy, just extracted Hard-SPL.zip, runned ROMUpgradeUt.exe - after reset I have oli BL, then you can run HERM_RADIO_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL.rar.... there is much much more knowledge about that, so try wiki first, it is only for you own good.

Yes definatly read the wiki etc... but also do as sinmae has done and load a HardSPL first, this is especially relevant when flashing radios.
@pof are you also running a HardSPL based bootloader??
...can somene put this ROM on Rapidshare or somewhere else, cause XDA FTP is not working

Unfortunately HTC keeps this information private, so there's no ChangeLog.
The radio was not dumped from a device, but extracted from 1.23.408.1 Italian Trinity ROM.

Yes, I tried only with WM6. We don't know the difference / advantage, just that it's a newer (higher) radio version.

The download server was down now running!!!!!
Just upgraded to radio 1.38 from 1.35 and I am running xdalive first release WM6 on O2 3g. Since the upgrade I am pretty sure the phone signal is now stronger as I have tested it in areas around my home and outside that got no signal, especially near my pc. I can now make a call next to my pc with 3 bars on the signal meter! The signal does not drop so much, I will test further and report back any problems, but so far so good.
Please let me know how you get on.

I will let you know on that one as I had it fully charged for the radio upgrade. I will keep an eye on it and report back.
I was about to down grade my radio back to .1.27 or earlier beacause of my UTMS reception in Brisbane (AU) and also the battery life. So i will also let you all know how this goes.
The Radio edition is download from HP (Not O2)government official. The government announces date is December 4 , 2007. The Atom/Exec radio document can be renewed directly since Afeng(From www.IIO2.com) has modified it.To share with you here.

The radio is modified from the lastest official radio of HP68XX series.
As we know,Atom/Exec and HP68XX all are made by HTC and these hardware are similar.So does OS in these devices.
I download your new radio and it looks like my radio 0.33

I dont think you have a clue what you're talking about, HTC has absolutely nothing to do with, HP68xx, Atom or Atom Exec!

If you are right,please tell me which factory made O2 Atom?
In fact,OEM of O2 devices is HTC who headquarter in Taiwan.

My friend, Atom is manufactured by Quanta, the first Xda not to come from the HTC stable of Taiwan

am really contended with my rom with the old radio... what would be the differences in them? is it really worth re-flashing with this radio?

I did this update to my device and this radio update also solved my very old Wireless connection problem. Now my wireless is working well.

I have used .34 Radio attached in this thread. Unzip it and replace the ROM files and update ur phone. and post your feedback here. Now your witless works or not.
As I can't fit enough into my sig, here is the links to my Radio ROM Repository for all Hermes Radio ROMs.
HTC Hermes Radio ROM Repository
This has all radio versions from 1.06.00.00 through to 1.56.70.11.
The Radio ROMS are supplied as RUU_Signed.nbh. You will need 7zip to extract the .7z files.
Downloads now go straight to a mirror closest to you. Please post if you see any issues.

I just downloaded Radio Hermes_Radio_v1.47.30.10. I run RUUWrapper.exe and it says it's going to update from version "Shamanix WM6 U" to version 1.98.3
is that ok?? shouldn't it say 1.47.30.10?? (I currently have version 1.34 and a Shaps WM6 ROM)

yes that is normal, it will workfine and will not erase your WM6 install.

At the moment, I'm trialing 1.56.70.11 - however I've noticed a few issues when dialing numbers. I'm not sure if it's the Radio version or the Optus network being retarded... I used to use 1.48.00.10 and this worked fine.
Usually takes a month or so to properly test a radio rom though
If you check the Hermes Wiki here there is already an archive of the radios.

I know this is probably a dumb question but i'm gonna ask it anyway. I am in the uk on 02... is there a particular one i should use... if not.. what is the difference between them all?
I am trying to learn but i find this radio thing very confusing
Radio is to improved your cell network, if u'r using hermes you'll see it in setting > system > device information. if you dont find any trouble in your shiped radio than it ok, but if you think the batteery drains to fast or the signal quality is to low, than may be you should try diffrent radio.
What Radio Rom should i use?

I have flashed my rom to CRC's 13.1-pre 7. It works like a dream. I am in Australia and my provider is 3. My current Radio Rom is: 1.47.30.10.
It seems to work all ok but my battery life is average and 3's coverage is average in some areas.
Any recommendations?

For some reason the only radio that worked for me is 1.16 I am smack-dab in the middle of the US. All the other radios kept freezing phone in the middle of a phone call, especially when I had my bluetooth headset connected (Jawbone) from 1.27 the the latest. Funny thing is that 1.16 always shows a G instead of an E in taskbar but is connected at edge speed.
Just thought I wuld throw that out there. Using CRC 13.0 Rom. By the way great job CRC for throwin these radio packs together.

Radio Rom for Hermes
Hi CRCin AU,
What have you found to be the best Radio Rom for here in Australia?
Im also from Australia and are wondering what is radio is best, im on the Optus network.
I use 1.56.70.11 and don't seem to have any dramas on the Optus network in Australia. Give it a go and see how it works for you.
