I'm considering to upgrade my P500 to a better one. Currently i'm staring at the Xperia X10. Would that a wise choice? I dont want the latest duo cores phone yet because they seem like unstable to me yet, and quad cores is coming too!
The reason that I want X10:
1Ghz over my 600mhz
superb camera from Sony!
FWVGA, hopefully 16M color ready with 2.3
Any opinion bout it?

I think you stay with p500 first becos u already spent money on this and not using it for long, u want to buy another, which isn't that a waste of money?

yup....absolutely....but with custom roms you can last for 24hrs.
I would suggest to either update big or just don't at all. This phone is good for daily use with no lag so it would be a waste to upgrade to just 400Hz more.

- Faster CPU is nice for gaming, but obviously more power drain. I prefer to not even think about how long would a quad-core last with current batteries? 6 hours?
- For camera - technically a valid reason, P500 sucks in this department. However, I have my own pretty expensive camera for serious purposes, the stuff on phones is frankly just a toy for fun.
- 16M colors? Noone will notice the difference really. Good for marketing, otherwise, makes no difference.

Yeah battery is a real pain, but the camera part is a bit controversial. I dont think it is convenient to bring a DSLR everywhere to take a decent photo, well a better camera phone might be a better solution[at least X10 has a far more better camera]. I really need the 16M color, because some widget and wallpaper looks nice with computer screen[32bit] but looks ugly with P500's screen[18bit].

Some of these very developers are likely XDA members and with some devices shipping soon there's no time like the present to add a forum. I'll be getting mine in a week or so and would love to have a place to post a video of the phone, unboxing, comparison, breakdown, whatever.

I know my limits
I like WP7 and Android , it's just that my heartless phone shop sold out all its WP7 phones so I went with the Galaxy Ace (instead of the Desire HD for an unknown and stupid reason , what was I thinking ?)

Wp7 isn't all about specs like android. That's something using an android trains you to ask. That said, 1.4 GHz snapdragon, 3.7 inch screen, Carl Zeiss lens on an 8 megapixel camera. Amoled clear black display, polycarbonate unibody, pure sexiness.
Btw, 1.4GHz is unusual for WP7 devices, they usually run on 1GHz processors so this is welcome. For more details check out http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_lumia_800-4240.php for a full specs sheet, although keep in mind numbers don't tell the whole story.
Also 512MB of RAM, seems low compared to Tegra 2 devices and such but it is more than enough for a WP7 device.
If I had the money, I'd either go for an N9 or this for a phone and get a 7" Android tablet. Anyway, looking forward to watching the Lumia, it's time Nokia gets some love after all these years rofl.

Haha Ive had the g2x and the only advantage is the HDMI. Official or unofficial cm9 will be on the vibrant. We already like 3 ics roms. G2x only has 1. Plus the sensor in the g2x Is crap. Megapixels really don't mean anything if the sensor is crap and the g2x is a perfect example. Get a vibrant and a g2x and take a picture. You'll be amazed how much better the vibrants camera is.

G2X is nowhere near a good enough increase for the money. It has build quality issues(light leakage on screen), and it's not that much faster than our Vibrants. Also, our screens are so pimp, deff not going to any other phone that's not a SAMOLED(+ preferred)
I've seen G2X's for as low as 125 on local craigslist...still not worth it.(to me)

im happy with my move up, and i just made this thread so say i was leaving ( not that you guys care )
i couldn't use the vibrant for another 6 months, only had it for 5 months. i weighed my options and it was a hell of a deal for it.

It fits in a stock phone perfectly, no bulk. On CM7 I went from around 10 hours to 12 hours, not much but it's a cheap upgrade. I am now on ICS and getting 20 some hours but haven't put the original battery back in myself.

My thoughts exactly. Why move to a G2X so late in the season? When I was running CM7, Overclocked to 1.5GHz, I was keeping up with all my other friends who have dual core phones (faster in some instances)... eg: Galaxy S II, Motorola Atrix, iPhone 4S, etc, etc. Now I'm running ICS at 1.2GHz, which is awesome. I'm happy to hold out another 6 months at the most, and snag a Quad-Core Galaxy S III. Then, that phone will last me another 1 1/2 - 2 years... so on and so forth. What's the point in 'upgrading' when there's nothing out there that is vastly superior, yet? (Except maybe the Galaxy Nexus)

And it is supposed to be available within 2012 (not available yet).
So when you think this 2.5GHz quad-core will be available?
I just hate these rumors that treat general consumers like idiots. And what I hate more is many consumers actually believe in this ****.

But i doubt the clock speed would be that high tho...

This phone is enough for years
I'll throw my 2cents in although i don't own the phone. So if I were you, I'd wait for the GX. It has the quite "new" Snapdragon S4 processor inside and that one is really a beast in terms of performance as it even blows away the Tegra 3 quadcore(4+1) in some benchmarks or in overall system performance. It won't take that long from now until the GX(international TX?) is released, so if you can wait, wait for it, I really recommend it. I'm lucky that I am on a long year contract with O2 already and I am allowed to choose a new phone this or next year for a fee of just 49€, so I will definitely get the GX!

I don't really want to do a crash test because I'm not that rich hehe. Plus I doubt this phone can survive a crash without a few scars.

I hardly play game (Sudoku is the one &only I play), I mainly surfing web,watch some music video, install bunches of all, so I don't think that 1gbram is much of a prob . Where did you buy your Xperia U?

i know 3 people who own them, who all hate them and wish they'd never bought it. it's laggy, it freezes, it's slow. I've updated them to unofficial jellybean and they're better but still not great, considering the original iPhone's were 1gig dual core's too. and they didn't have those problems

well the fact is Xperia U is 1.5 years old and has no more support
So I dont recommend it to anyone now but it is a great phone
You should get a phone with support even if your budget is low, why not get something on contract?

I'm still on contract with Tmobile until April 2014. I'm living in Midwest USA which dominated by Verizon. Other options are US Cellular & Viaero but their signal is not strong in some places that I go on weekend. so I'd like to be open with get in and out with a plan easily. I'm thinking of having PagePlus service , I don't need data plan so it's even cheaper.

Don't go for Xperia E I repeat don't.E only got Single core it's hard to play games. Camera only got 3.2 mp no flash:thumbdown:low resolution display.Go for Xperia U

Will witch one is faster and better for gaming
Xperia u with a 1ghz dual core or iphone 4 with single core
If it is hard to play games ??? how could it run jellybean with the same ui as the Z

Plus it is using a snapdragon chipset and if some dev worked on the kernel it can be overclocked to 1.9 ghz
About resolution
Small device with a low resolution is not a bad thing it is just like the xperia go in display
And the low resolution means less ram usage less battery drain better gaming
The camera is not that bad i think it is similar to xperia u's one cause megapixels does not mean everything in cameras
The only real problem that there is no flash
He can take photos in the morning and use other cameras or phones to take photos in the night
And as i think he is living in america (us)
And it is full of lights as i know lol
Or he can buy a flashlight with the remaining 30$ ( just joking lol )

You said that it can run jb like Xperia z but do u know how many user say that it run jb smooth?
Only 3/10 why I said that cuz I own Xperia E before.U said iPhone 4 got a single core you're totally wrong.iPhone 4 got dual core if u don't know try to search before posting .U said 3.2 mp camera not that bad compare to 5.0mp, u totally wrong why don't u compare 8mp camera to z1 21mp camera. it's not that different?:thumbdown:
overclock From 1ghz to 1.9ghz maybe only your family could do that(i said maybe)
