Something weird keeps happening to the Navigation sound when I'm using Gingerbread ROM's. If I have any music playing, the Navigation voice becomes really low volume.
I've tested this with PowerAmp, Google Music, Amazon MP3, and Slacker Radio, and all do the same thing. However, problem doesn't come up when using Pandora. While Pandora is playing, Navigation would simply pause Pandora and speak in good volume. With the other apps, Navigation pauses the app but speaks in a really low volume. Low enough that I can't make out the words, but still know it is speaking.
At first I thought it was the leaked radio thing, but now I'm finding out it's happening with CM7RC0.3 too, which uses Froyo radio.
Anyone know if this can be fixed?

During music play, has anyone else noticed small amount of static when changing volume. This happens to me particularly when increasing the volume control. However, it is very inconsistent. When I say static, I mean there is a volume increase (or decrease) with some amount of "other" sound added in. This was not something I noticed with my ipod touch and was just curious if anyone else has this or it's a hardware or software issue.
Do you see when playing music through the speaker only, or with earphones as well?
Speaker is not clear enough to hear if there is any audible noise during volume increase or decrease. . . also hear it when using other music players such as cubed. Also, I was listening through my earphones to Avatar and even though the audio is very clear, when increasing and decreasing the volume I still hear what I guess is better described as a small pop instead of static. That might be a better description for the music noise as well.
Static, crackle, pop
I've been listening to audio books on my Vibrant lately and I've noticed this happening a lot. I've heard it through headphones and I have even heard popping / crackling on the speaker when it plays notification sounds.
Did this turn out to be a defect or is it an issue that everyone has occassionally but just ignores?
Thanks
Does this happen when using the on-screen volume control in the music app or only the rocker button?
Mine will actually crackle even when I'm not touching it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes mine too. It will sporadically "skip" in all music players whether I'm using headphones or not.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!
I've tried searching but the things that came up weren't the same problem I'm having. What happens is that when I'm listening to music, whether it be with headphones or the speaker, if I get a text, the music just loses all volume, the notification plays and then the volume turns back up on the music, it doesn't pause because when the music kicks in again it's at a different part of the song. It's very distracting and annoying. Anyone know how to fix that? I'm on Trigger 2.7 and it also happened when I was on the AOSPish rom. I converted from iPhone to Android and I love it so much more, but right now this is the one thing that the iPhone has on my Vibrant. I need to change that!
Ok I've had this problem for the last couple days. I will be in the middle of listening to music through Winamp over my bluetooth headset.
All of the sudden the bluetooth headset stops playing music and the music starts playing out of the speaker. However, it is not the same music...it is a completely different song. If i use the volume rocker it shows it adjusting bluetooth volume but does not change the random speaker music volume.
If I go into settings>Applications>Running Services and Force Stop all Music programs the music still does not stop playing out of the speaker.
If I turn the bluetooth headset off and then use the volume rocker it shows adjusting ringtone volume, but the random speaker music will be adjusted.
Also, while I was not even using bluetooth the other day this same thing happened. It seems to only happen when the screen is turned off.
I am really trying to figure out what is causing this but I cannot figure it out.
I have frozen my "music 2.3.4."; "Music 3.0.1" ; and "Phantom Music Control Widget" and the problem persists.
I don't think it is related but this did not start happening until I installed the Faux123 1.9 kernel. I may also try to revert back to 1.7 to see if the issue persists.
I am still trying to figure this out and will probably try another music program other than winamp to see if the problem still happens.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

I had something similar happening a while back. What it turned out to be was that the widget for another music program was still active somehow after deleting it. Freezing the program didn't stop things. I eventually realized what was happening, dropped another widget on my desktop again, made sure all music was stopped, then deleted it again.
Also check your settings in all music programs for bluetooth and playback. I have found that having multiple music programs installed would really cause a sh*tmess sometimes. Better to uninstall everything but stock music player, then only install the one you wish to use, then freeze the stock player after turning off all "auto" functions in it.
When I'm playing music straight off the phone with MX Player, I'm able to hear notification sounds, however when I'm streaming from Pandora or Radio.com apps, the notification sounds are not heard. Is there a way to get notifications to sound over the streaming audio? I've poked around settings, but can't figure it out. Although I doubt it affects the answer, I'm on CM10.2 nightly.
So I got the Kate version of this phone for a couple of months and I really like it. But today, it stopped playing sound from the back speaker when using media apps like Spotify and Youtube. If I plug in my headphones, it works just fine though.
Here is the fun part: If I start a song on spotify, go into settings>sound and change the volume for the notification with the slider, the sound of the notification is played from the speaker as the volume is adjusted. When the sound has played, it resumes playing the sound from spotify. But when the song ends (and another one begins) or I skip to the next song, the sound is gone again. As I am running custom rom(Aosp Extended), I'd thought it was just some weird bug. I did a complete reflash of another rom, Pure Nexus, but I still have the same problem. What could be causing this!? I have never experienced this with any other phone. At first I thought the speaker was broken, but it does seem to work. I still get notification and ringtone sound if I get a text or somebody calls me.
