Mini gamepads? - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Hi people!
Do you know if exists a smaller size gamepad with all buttons like a normal one? I have one but I like to have a smaller one to put inside my 12,1'' Targus case...

what are you playing? if it's just NES emulators or something, i'd get a USB NES controller

Well, I like especially Snes games, but almost all old consoles (Genesis, GBA, N64 etc etc)
Normal gamepads are so BIG compared to tablet, but I think it doesn't exists something so small with all buttons... any ideas?

I'd like something of this sort also. I think the perfect size/layout for one would be the classic controller for the Wii. Too bad its not BT

Something like this?

"All buttons"? Be more specific. Just how many buttons do you need?
I use a USB Sega Saturn controller, and that fits fine in my Targus CityGear netbook case. It has just enough buttons to play most PlayStation games, but N64 games are out of the question since it doesn't have an analog stick.

The Wii classic controller works fine with Android devices over Bluetooth as long as you have a Wii remote connected to it. All you need to do is download Wiimote Controller from the Market, configure it, and you're set.

I have something like that (but Impact brand)
You know, like an old PS1 controller with... almost 12-13 buttons, two sticks and one pad, the dock recognizes it but only pad works, buttons works but aren't recognized by emulators (appears unknown in keymap menu) so I need a new one...
If you like to play PSX games, you need a lot of them, so, thesilverhawk put is so small and feels great with 8 buttons, what a pity that Wii classic controller needs a Wii remote to work... many things to play... so, Wii classic can't work in USB mode?

There exists a USB adapter for Wii classic controllers.
http://www.amazon.com/WII-CLASSIC-C...1698/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307926806&sr=8-1
Unfortunately I tried mine and it wasn't correctly recognized by most games.

Oooh that's sad, same thing with my old gamepad... what a shame, I like that Wii controller, but then go to a PS3 gamepad to stay 100% sure...
Thanks for your answers

It could just be that Google or Asus took some shortcuts with the gamepad drivers and didn't properly implement them. I can confirm that every one of my gamepads and adapters work flawlessly in Ubuntu using generic drivers built into the kernel, so it's just a matter of figuring out how to port similar drivers to Android. Hopefully when Google eventually releases the Honeycomb source we'll have a better chance of seeing that happen.

Small game controller for Atrix?

So since I have 4 emulators, including n64 and ps1, i'm getting tired of using the screen as the controller.
Is there any small device that can act as a small, portable game controller? Like a really small bluetooth thumbpad, but instead of letter keys, it has the standard gaming buttons? Something that can fit in the pocket right with the phone would be nice.
All I have found are full sized bluetooth controllers or bluetooth keyboards. I'm thinking of something as small as a speaker remote; for example, a gaming controller as small as this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&h...&tbnw=188&start=0&ndsp=44&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:0
Anyone have any ideas?
i like the ps3 controler but keep lookin im,sure there that to but something
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
You can use a WiiMote, for the N64 games you need the classic controler attachment.
Yea i love the ps3 controller. Its easy to use, wireless, settings are basically 1 button startup. ready to go.
has anyone tried non-oem ps3 controllers? i dont have a ps3 so im thinking of buying a controller. if third party ps3 controllers do the job, i would get one.
Im sure 3rd party controllers would work since they use the same communication protocol.. Dont really see any reason why it wouldnt..
now a small controller would be dope!

A 3rd party ps3 controller typically doesn't use bluetooth, but an rf dongle... It's a no go unless it's bluetooth

Wouldn't put money on that. I got a Sony Tablet S which does PS3 controllers natively, and a knockoff I bought didn't work with it, whereas my originals do. OTOH if say you can test out a cheapo unit and it works and you can get the exact model, why not.
you will find that third party controllers will sometimes experience issues after say firmware updates on PS3 etc. they are NOT identical to original sony controllers, though of course if they work for you then who cares
i have searched around and a 3rd party ps3 controller its around $20. they say its bluetooth and no dongle included. anyhow im going to wait cause i live outside usa so i couldnt return item if doesnt actually work.
i dont know anything smaller, but ive been using my ps3 controller like the people stated above.
This seems perfect for the OP

Think you need the bluetooth controller app (cant remember the name) to get it working tho, apparently works great with the emulators. Last time I saw them a cuople of months back they were £4.50 delivered, i should have got one then!
Isnt ICS supposed to support standard usb gamepads, anyone tried this?
I haven't used one of these, so I can't recommend them at all, but I was looking at buying one myself for £40:
http://www.icontrolpad.com/order/
It's bluetooth and I reckon the "side clamps" should probably fit the atrix (perhaps with a bit of a sugru mod) but if not then the "universal holder" will work to hold the phone above the controller.
Anyone played with one of these?
Like others have mentioned. I'm using PS3 controller with the Atrix. In fact, I use 2 PS3 controllers to play 2 player emulator games on Atrix with Lapdock running LS HDMI. I've a feeling those slim bluetooth gamepads weren't very good in touch and feel.

Yup. PS3 controller uses some funky bluetooth input that only that app seems to comprehend.

Maybe an usb pad (if youy use lapdock, it may come handy... I'm considerin to buy this one, mainly because is a 1/3 the price of an ps3 controller and because in this part of the world is very hard to find bluetooth things...

Looking for USB Mouse

Given the WIFI/BT compatibility problems, my bluetooth mouse has issues, most prominently when connecting to a remote desktop session, I guess due to the higher BW requirements. Unfortunately this is when it's most useful.
Anyway, does anyone know a good USB alternative?
What I'd ideally be looking for is:
1)Small dongle that can stay on the USB port of the keyboard,
2)Given #1, have an actual on/off switch on the mouse
3)Small form factor that travels well
4)Scroll wheel is a must
5)Nice to have would be side back/forward buttons
Does such a thing exist that works with the ATP? Basically I'm looking for a nice replacement that is functionally transparent to what I have now to make up for the limitations of the prime...
Let me know!
I bought the ihome micro wireless mouse a while back and its got almost all of your requirements except the forward/back buttons. It matches the aesthetic of the prime in scale and form factor, has that on off switch you need, a tiny usb dongle, and just one AAA battery. It also has a fine dpi setting but I don't believe the TFP has the firmware to accommodate such a setting.

Thanks! I'll check it out! The side buttons aren't a requirement, mainly the leave in dongle and on off.
So what does it mean to not support the fine dpi setting?

There are a few different iHome Mice. The spec listings for any I've seen aren't specific enough to list the on/off button, which is a requirement if I'm going to leave the dongle on the prime (the old mouse I have w/ a huge dongle only turns off by mounting the dongle into the base of the mouse)
You wouldn't happen to have the model number? The link above is model model # - IH-M182ZB

This is the best USB wireless mouse available on the market. I've tried about 15-20 mice in the past couple of years and this one by far is the best. The quality is top notch and design is perfect. ALL DAY use and my hand doesn't ache at all.

[Q] GNote Wireless Controllers

So I have been doing some research online to try and find the perfect wireless controller that I can take with me on the go that is really slim. I have found a couple here and there such as the PS3 controller, etc.
What I was wondering was .....has anyone created a wireless touch screen controller? Or at the least has anyone here seem a slim controller that works with android?
If you haven't, what controllers do you use? And which ones have you had the best experience with?
I be live you will typically find people using a PS3 controller (I do) or a phonejoy (which is just a modified PS3 controller). I use mine with the sixaxis app from the market.
Now with ICS, you can plug in a USB controller if you have an adapter like the USB OTG (on the go). I bought that from Amazon for fairly cheap. Going this route, I'm not sure what controllers will work natively, but do a search on Amazon for "USB SNES controller" and you'll see just that.
Having a way to cord my PS3 controller is helpful for plane rides. Airlines don't allow wireless game controllers... I've only had one flight attendant call me out on that...

The most portable bluetooth gamepad I've found, with the most features is the iControlpad. It has upgradeable firmware that is actively developed, an internal battery that can charge/power your phone while your gaming, and multiple bluetooth profiles making it compatible with many devices. Also has nice low profile analog controls. It's kinda expensive, but well worth it, imo. Go to iControlpad.com for info.

Yikes. I did some investigation on the ICP as an alternative to my PS3 controller... $116 shipped to US?? No thanks.

You can get the icp from thinkgeek.com for $60 or 70 if you're in the USA. You must have chosen UPS express international shipping to have it cost $116, as it is only $60 before shipping.
If the ps3 controller is portable enough for you, then that's a much cheaper option, but for me the ps3 controller is too bulky to easily carry in my pockets. The iControlpad is much thinner and portable, plus it is much more universally compatible and heavy duty, so the $70 I paid for it was worth it to me. It'll probably last me through my next few devices.

What games do you guys play with these game controllers?
I picked up one of those cheap tiny bluetooth keyboards on Amazon to use as a controller for NES.emu.
I'd never use it for typing but it works well enough for NES roms and fits nicely in my pocket.
There's only a few games I'd want to use a PS3 controller for and I doubt they support it.

Does anyone know of currently available game controllers that would hold the Mega 6.3 like the Moga? It would be great for emulators making the Mega work as a better portable games console.

im using the Sony GCM10 & Sony DS4 + an app called sixaxis controller(requires root) to remapp the buttons and play wireless
and the touchpad of the DS4 is working as a mouse but since most games actually dont support mouse clicks its more like an option. but the sixaxis controller app does the trick it turns the clicks into touches so you can click but the phone takes it as a touch.

Probably not something you're willing to do, but since way back when, when I had my Droid Razr, I used a Wii Controller with the attachment, because it linked via Bluetooth. There is an app that doesn't require root on the Play Store to use it by essentially using it as a keyboard attachment. As long as the game supports mapping buttons though, I would imagine any Bluetooth controller would work the same way. I don't see why you would need a root for that to work.

I am looking for something that attaches to the nexus 6 making it one handheld device. I could use a Wii remote, but then I would have to prop my phone on something to play a game.
first of all the xbox 360 usb controller works like a charm when connected via usb otg, secondly i suggest you make something like they did in this video. it wont be pretty but it will work
http://technabob.com/blog/2013/09/02/make-your-own-nvidia-shield/
or check this out and see if it works for the nexus 6 http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Smart-Clip-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFM0Q
or even better, this http://utorcase.com/
I also don't know of an attachable controller but I do recomment the SteelSeries Free combined with a case that has a kickstand. I have 2 and I play games when parked with my N6 mounted in the windshield. Car audio combined with the N6 killer screen is pretty awesome.
I bought the Moga Pro Power for $80, only to be extremely disappointed that almost none of the games that support Moga, support it in Lollipop, but do in kit kat. As if now, its useless for my phone which sucks because this thing is the perfect size for gaming, in due time it should work well.
I'm still thinking something like GameKlip casemount + PS3. I had this on my S3.
I use a PS3 controller with my N6 and did the same on my previous phone the S4. However, in order to use it properly, you need to be able to run SixAxis Controller and that needs root.
PS You live fairly close to me. The people who used to live in my house moved 15 miles away to Oxenhope - Yorkshire FTW.

You only need to use six axis for a wireless (blue tooth ) connection.. When I bought my gameklip for s3, it came with a really small usb cable and OTG. Its not the tidiest solution, but it works.
The main issue with game pads is the lack of compatibility. Having to map touch controls can be pretty painful too.
What I'm actually doing is buying a cling universal game pad.. Its not a gamepad at all though. It just sticks the handles on the phone so you can hold it like one, though it will probably need sawing in half to extend it to fit

I think that will work great with driving games if you don't mind using tilt for steering.
Still, no way around poor control for FPS games though. The main issue is if you use left thumb for movement and right for aim, you can't do both and shoot at the same time.. I wish you could buy clip on shoulder buttons that have an adjustable capacitive pen "nib' to touch parts of the screen. I've designed it in my head but nothing I can do to make that a reality. Why can't they just make all games game pad compatible?

I tried to PM you since this is decidedly off topic but I live in Ilkley and they moved to the cluster of houses a few hundred metres before that really tight right-hand bend on Hebden Bridge Road (on the way out to Hebden Bridge). I was brought up in East Yorks but I always loved the moors in West and North Yorks.
