Firefox crashing phone - Motorola Droid X2

I just installed Firefox version 4.0.1 on my DroidX2 and it keeps causing my phone to reboot. I am able to open the application, and the home page loads. However when I click the address bar and the keyboard appears on the phone, it locks up for ~ 1 - 2 minutes, and then it either automatically reboots or I have to pull the battery. I am using the default keyboard.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it only me?

I haven't tried Firefox on my X2, but I had the same thing happen on my DPro. I could never get it to work. Give Dolphin HD a try.

I tried Dolphin on my original Droid, however I heard you could share your bookmarks across Firefox, so I can have the same bookmarks at work, home, and phone. That would be a nice feature. Is there a way to import bookmarks from a desktop into any browser for an Android?

How can I disable the default browser so that dolphin becomes my default..

I have found that when I install dolphin HD that it works but is not the default. I set it for default in dolphin and it will work as default as long as I don't close it. However, if i close it, the phone reverts to the android (I assume) browser and I then have to go back into dolphin and tell it to be default again. I would like to disable the android browser so that when I hit the browser button on the dock it defaults to it because there is no other choice. I have titanium backup and root.
I really want dolphin because it integrates lastpass much better and with using lastpass I have some crazy passwords for my websites that are generated, which makes it impossible to get into without it. I also want to eliminate the choice popup every time I use a browser.
Thanks kindly in advance...

When you hit the "browser" button on your dock it should give you an option of whether you'd like to use the stock android browser or dolphin. after you chose dolphin you can also check the box that say make this the default action.
Alternatively, go to settings > applications > dolphin to mess with the default settings there.

Browser problem (Boat and Dolphin HD)

I have been using Dolphin HD.
Sometimes app closes itself. It wasn't like going back to home screen by pressing home button because it did not restore pages.
Therefore, I changed it to Boat Browser.
However, I was not able to find an option to set always use desktop view in this browser.
Miren browser was ok but I frequently saw black screen whenever loading a page.
So my questions are:
1. Is there any way to use desktop view in Boat Browser?
2. Does anyone know why my Dolphin HD closes itself?
Thank you.

I use Dolphin and have not had any issues with Force Closes. Perhaps you should uninstall and reinstall, or clear data from the app management menu. Did you install from the market or side load? (I installed from the market.)
I had similar problem too, go to app management and clear data / cache. It stopped all the crashes for me
To get to application management use tgps_launcher which if you've lost it is available here http://li362-167.members.linode.com/gapps/non_google/tgps_launcher.apk
Oh and as above I installed it from the market so it's the latest update.
Thanks i have cleared cache. Lets see what happens

browser crashing

I have noticed that when i go to my browser after phone has been in sleep mode all tabs are gone and i am back at yahoo home page. Anyone else?
This is common, just the way android treats apps when they are running in the background. You can try other browsers such as opera (not mini), dolphin HD, and firefox just to name a few. But even these do not keep your tabs.

[Q] Browser keeps opening in new tabs when docked

Hi all, I'm having a problem with browsing using ICS+ Browser and the TF201 Dock. Whenever I use certain keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+t/ctrl+w/etc.), the browser starts opening every link in a new tab. For example on reddit or xda, clicking next page will open that in the background. I have tried changing agent mode, toggling open in background, restarting browser app, clearing cache. These seem to fix the problem temporarily until I use the shortcuts again.
I am using Thumb keyboard, but changing that to ASUS or android doesn't seem to help either. If I only use shift+space or space, it doesn't seem to have the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Mobile Browser of Your Choice / Which Would You Reccomend?

I'm curious to know which mobile browser you'd recommend using? I've been using Dolphin, which has been fine (great even) but after a recent update it has begun crashing repeatedly. I've been doing my research and I've been learning that if I turn off the Ad Blocking setting then it won't crash as often if at all (but then you're left open to the screen entirety ads among other things). I've also been learning that Dolphin isn't so great with privacy and data mining (correct?). I tried uninstalling Dolphin 12.0.2 and going with an older version from the XDA site but alas there's been little to no improvement.
So I've been looking at other browsers. I know to stay away from CM, the Cheetah Mobile browser, but what else is out there? I'm thinking about the stock Chrome browser that all Android devices come with but really don't care for it which is why I found Dolphin in the first place. I like the Samsung browser which I've seen in the Play Store and gave a test drive to. I also like Opera...
Also of interest. Apparently Dolphin is able to access my Google account and rebuild itself after a fresh install, whether I've uninstalled it and then installed it again or switched devices. This has been very helpful and allowed me to just pick up where I left off, but I've also become invested in the Dolphin ecosystem and it seems to be the only browser that'll access this. I'd like to just pull my favorites from one browser to another. Chrome won't do this, when I sign in I get an amalgamation of what's on the PC version of Chrome for both the computers I use at work and at home... I really don't want the two to commingle as there's stuff on both that I don't want on my mobile, and needless to say if I save a favorite on my mobile I don't want it showing up at work for unknowledgable eyes to possibly see.
So any help would be appreciated...
I use chrome. Never had issues.
