That sucks. Should be a one time charge from market. I hate games that do this, they are just a waste of money especially if its to buy ingame upgrades. Just horrible.

i will play the free till im bored then delete im not payin 15 dollars their trippin

I was swilling to pay the $14 anyways before it was free so no biggie to me.
installed now on my atrix and my acer iconia but i have to wait to try it. cant play at work

lookin' good

The graphics are amazing, but I think its messing with my brightness controls. Seems really bright. Also I am totally losing to the pirates when you team with gartun.. or w/e his name is. Does the data store on SD?

well it's not really an 'upgrade', you're basically playing the "LITE/FREE" version and you would be paying for the FULL version. we are actually getting a demo version for the Tegra, whereas anyone else who wanted to even try the game has to actually buy it flat-out.

Its on the market... Game is pretty difficult.died like 5 times
My question is if we buy it in game, is the license transferable like normal market games?
Update: I'm a sucker for these Star Fox styled games. SF64 is the best game, and I just got suckered into buying this. These graphics are amazing! I wish the audio clips had a bit longer of a pause after talking. It doesn't sound natural. Crashed once directly to the home screen, and I hope there is an update in the future to disable the brightness. When you turn towards the star(s), it gets super bright. I might post a review on this.

is it just me or are the controls pretty bad?

They are somewhat finicky. It's kind of difficult to implement the controls of this style with a single analog stick. Think SuperMan 64 (lol not!).

works fine for me with CM7 installed, even used wifi to download the gamedata...
works on piChrust fw and 0.2.1 faux Kernel
For those of you who have it working I have a question.. Is it REALLY worth the $4.99!? Ive been spoiled by .99c games. Honestly I doubt I purchase it just because of that. But if Im missing out and NEED to play this game could any body offer a brief explanation why? I have read about the game already but would like to hear from someone who is playing on an Atrix. Thanks ahead of time.

i bought it yesterday, but didn't play it for very long. it's a pretty fun game, and the controls were really intuitive. it's exactly how you would want to control a fps on a touch screen, left side of the screen for moving and right for camera.
the graphics were pretty amazing for a smartphone, i was impressed. and i didn't experience any sort of lag, which was even better (using the 1.0ghz enhanced kernel CM7)
i'd say it's worth the 5 dollars, i only got about half an hour into it so far and was already satisfied with my purchase. the animations are all voice acted so far, gameplay is fun, and controls are great for a touch screen.
I highly recommend this game. Well worth the $5. The controls are much better than the gameloft FPS's that I've played and the graphics are amazing. When you compare the price to a console game it's a no brainer purchase.
On the gameloft shooters they kinda auto aim for you (sorta like goldeneye on n64) but on this game once you press the fire button you can move your finger and move your aim, like having dual joysticks. Also the left joystick appears wherever you put your thumb (on the left half of the screen) eliminating the problem of your finger missing the joystick.
The cover system is easy to use and works well. It's nice to have that instead of just having to run around shooting. The enemy AI isn't as good as many console games but miles ahead of other mobile shooters. Enemies will move from cover to cover, one will stick back while the other tries to flank you, etc.
There are a few very minor glitches here and there, but it runs very well on the atrix.
Well worth it...just be ready to kiss your battery byebye

Haven't checked, but i haven't modified it, it's the one from aura 1.2.2.1 deblur aura. Might be the 3.2.0 market messes things up.
Definitely worth it,especially considering it'll get an update for multiplayer in the near future apparently (forgot where i read it but it was a legit source). And the game is great to play, it has great graphics and is very smooth and fast.

Hey all over in the photon forums I have figured out the mapping to be able to use a PS3 controller with the game. I would post a link but I am on mobile. Look in the photon themes and apps. The title is easy to see. Says Shadowgun available for tegra 2 devices. I have only tested the ps3 controller with the photon so hopefully it works for you guys too.

I'm using Aura 1.2.2.0 (just haven't made the upgrade to 1.2.2.2 yet) and had the "download is incompatible with your device" from the market, however, I was able to install via market.android.com
Also... Yesterday(?), there was an update available for the game. After installing it, the character was holding an invisible gun that shelled out little pink blocks. Apparently this was a pretty common problem. This was fixed by reinstalling the game after deleting /sdcard/Android/data/com.madfingergames.shadowgun

Sadly there is no way to make hdmi mirroring with the Atrix... Widescreen that is.
This game is great on both my Atrix and eee pad transformers. For anybody having glitches, just uninstall the game and reinstall. I had to do that on both devices afterthe update. Also for those who have an eee pad with dock, you can plug up an Xbox 360 controller and play the game like it is an Xbox 360 game, just loads faster.

Is the game worth it? It's a bit like asking if it's worth breathing. The graphics are amazing, the controls are very user-friendly and fun, the game runs without any sort of lag or problem and it's like Resident Evil 5 but for mobile phones.
This is the first game that i actually find worth buying for my Atrix.
Ratings: 10/10.

I suck as FPS and I'm a sucker for eye candy, but I definitely think this is a 10/10. Very well polished game. Some FPS pros might get bored of it but I'm not good enough at the genre to make an informed decision lol
Definitely with $5 or whatever it was.

Holy crap... WE BETTER GET THIS!!

this is a game changer in my eyes, not so much because EVERYONE has onlive or will get it, but because apple can advertise that there tablet can do these things,
and its pretty FREAKING awesome!
http://kotaku.com/5866154/play-batman-arkham-city-la-noire-and-other-aaa-games-on-your-ipad
i must have this for my android! please tell me this isn't an apple only deal!?
Calm down, it's also available for Android, and it was already available in the Flyer for quite some time now (HTC invested heavily in OnLive back then)
It's a really great idea but right now there is not many games and it is limited to very few country
And Apple doesn't advertise something that's not made by Apple.
They buy it, rebrand it, then they advertise it.

HOLY CRAP... no.
Ya no... this has LAG written all over it. If you've seen people play BFBC2 and Black Ops from their Transformers 1 using remote desktop... it's essentially the same thing. MOST games would be totally unplayable :/ BUT it is a cool idea!
Worked fine on my Motorola XOOM ..no lag at all.

Android version will be better
Android version will allow in-app purchases, and probably controller support will be better. And having 4 cores on the Prime means there will be enough cores to handle video, network and game controller data.
But no need to overhype it. Even without lag/offline issues, games designed for a 20+ inch display are hard to play on a <10 inch tablet. Probably get sniped and never see who shot you. LOL
Games like Fallout and Skyrim need a large screen to make out the detail and find stuff. And in RTS games, units will be way too small. The eye strain is gonna be seriously bad.
IMHO, games designed for a tablet with proper (i.e. bigger) fonts and objects are better. But I guess people want to know it's _possible_ to play PC/console games on a tablet, even if it's not any good.
Unless you have 10ms or less ping to their server there will be noticable lag. How noticable depends on your preferences (and on type of game). I think you could still play without much problems with ping up to 50ms or sth though.

I've played Fallout on an 11-inch, 14-inch laptop and 26-inch monitor... there is a huge difference. And reading on a phone, you can choose a large font and pinch to zoom.
The closer the screen is, the greater the eye strain. So I guess it'll depend on a person's tolerance.
Yes and im 16 and have an extremely high tolerance to small screens

I'm nearsighted (well, on one eye, but still) and it's "the closer the better" for me. I watch movies on 23'' screen from 30 centimeters sometimes. And the view is better than in cinema! Sharp and beautiful (I recommend my screen by the way - eizo fs2331, best black you can get on LCD and almost perfect colour gradients, C-PVA panel).

Same here. Even if Prime is my first tablet, it does not offer me much beyond my Galaxy Nexus.
I am pretty hyped up about it. It's my 2nd tablet. I also own iPad 2. While it's great, iOS is severely limiting what I can do. I am not selling iPad 2, due to me using ForeFlight for my flight training. Once that is out for Android, I will drop it like a bad habit.

No matter what negative rumors people post, I stay Hyped for this device!
YEAHHHHH BOYYYYYYYY! [In my Flavor Flav voice]
My iPad gets more n more worried as we get closer to the release on the 19th. She thinks ima leave her high n dry..lol. It has performed so well for me so well being jail broken n modded. Prime horsepower n Android will be a sick experience.
It's not a couple of delay rumors (even if I was the one to post them... Haha stupid NCIX) that'll stop me from getting this device! I want this thing so bad, and if it wasn't the case I probably wouldn't be here ALL THE DAMN TIME.
Even if the idea of getting something else crosses my mind, I just can't push myself to get a device that I KNOW is inferior to the Prime. Oh and I have an HDMI micro coming in from Ebay that I'll be using to connect the Prime to my new TV... it'd be a waste of 5$ if I got another device that didn't support HDMI micro out

It's pretty low now that my pre-order has been cancelled and I have no chance of getting the tablet until January or later. Right now I'm looking at other tablets maybe coming early next year. Might still get the Transformer Prime, but no longer hyped about it.
I'm looking forward to it as well But it comes when it comes. I have a wedding to plan with my fiancee so i've got stuff that keeps me occupied
Anyway it will come out mid january in my country so i have to wait another month anyway. I just hope the world wont get down in 2012 so i can enjoy my Transformer Prime long enough^^

well theres only one down side to that... your WAAAY to invested now, you have to get it.
I mean, you couldn't just THROW away your hdmi cable!
your screwed bro lol
So I started at a hype level of 11 until all the rumors came out about delays. Now its probably at a 7, hoping the rumors arent true :/. Why I'm so excited is for a couple of reasons...
1) Emulators running at full speed.
I have a g2x (tegra 2) and n64oid runs at a tad too slow of a speed, but still runs it. I'm excited to play my classics like zelda, ssb, goldeneye and diddykong racing. I'm mostly excited about super smash bros and golden eye portable matches! " Oh you say you can whoop me in the OG smash bros? prove it on your break man! :: pulls out tablet and 2 bluetooth controllers at work :: LETS GO" lol
2) Other great games like tower defense games, high quality graphics shooters, OnLive. Think of how awesome it would be to be playing console quality games anywhere?? Thats too cool for school
3) Sketchbook pro with a jot stylus for sketches and drawings. No more needing to carry around paper and paints to express myself (i know corny but still loads of fun!) Erasing mistakes in digital art is always a plus as well :-D
4) Running full blown ubuntu on top of android to study for my networking and pentesting tests. You have a full blown os at your fingertips.. its even better when you add a keyboard dock. And even without the keyboard you have a hackpad
5) I have 2 computers at home that I can connect to with remote desktop to queue torrents for tv shows or to manage my terraria/minecraft server.
6) Since I have a bunkbed I plan on getting a snap-on case to velcro to the ceiling and run a wire to the outlet for power. I can set it as my alarm clock, watch netflix on it at night, read books/news feeds, play games. Really excited for that
7) Come on... who doesn't use their phone on the john? Well with a tablet you can actually watch movies... anywhere.. lol
There are LOADS of reasons why I'm excited for this tablet, so much I can do with it. BTW this will be my first tablet and I'm glad I didn't get the first transformer when it came out.. having a dualcore phone and not having a higher powered tablet seems almost pointless. I WANT THE POWER!

your getting me more hyped lol
after i saw that emulator i was elevated for a 5 to a 8, don't know why that made me so happy, i don't even play emulators on my wicked gaming computer, i guess i just love the idea of portable mario kart 64 or some good ole FF7!
If I can play Blast Corps on it at full speed and proper control, I would be happier than a pig in ****.

Future of Tablet Gaming

So, I bit the bullet and bought a Prime, I had talked myself out of it about 9 million times, was going to buy a used one from chin-a-ling (sorry mate) but my fiancee pushed me, and pushed me and I finally bought one... I am in love.
But the title says it all, I am wondering what the future is going to be. My hope is to end up being able to play Portal on this thing one day. With the fact that Bethesda has mentioned possible tablet ports of older titles, Valve has always been one to examine all unique possibilities. It would be incredible to be Chell running through the hall way, aiming and then tapping where I want the portal
Anyways, what does everyone else think? Looking forward to seeing what the major companies might do? Games you hope to see ported or even developed as a standalone counterpart from your favorite series?

I think tablet gaming especially on iOS has a bright future. Some of iOS's best exclusives have trickled their way to Android. But there is still a lot to be desired on the Android platform as far as games go. Currently EPIC is making fantastic games for iOS through ChAIR Entertainment. Hopefully they will one day embrace Android.
Well ios has infinity blade and usually gets games a bit earlier. That's about it IMHO.
Android has amazing emulators and most importantly full gamepad support.
There are also some really nice looking tegra3 exclusives coming. Definately infinity blade lvl of graphics.
I'd say the future is bright. Me personally I'm hoping for point and click adventures getting big on tablets. They perfect for touch control.
Gaming on tablets and Prime will be SICK! Just watch. Already amazed at the types of games I'm playing already. And I don't play b.s. ones like angry birds or whatever. Lol hardcore gamer here.
I used to be a hardcore gamer before I joined the Navy but after I got out I haven't had time with school, but I am a huge Portal/Half Life Fan, as well as a few of the other artsy FPS games e.g. Mirrors Edge. I KNOW the Tegra 3 can handle it, it is a matter of whether or not the big guys will believe in the future of tablet/mobile gaming. It is a growing segment of serious gamers, and I think that tablet ownership would increase as games become more innovative/complex.

And it works like a charm. It never ceases to amaze me that the first time I played day of the tentacle I had to clear my 40MB(!) hdd before I could install it, was supplied om an enormous amount of floppy disks, took ages to install and now I can play it on a apparatus small enough to fit in my pocket (in case of my galaxy nexus)...
They need to bring the Broken sword series to Android. I have both games on Ipad n loved them. Like a touch point n click. Graphics n storyline is very good.
I installed onlive and am playing all sorts of pc games.
It works great with the Xbox 360 controller.
Onlive? Huh, I'll check it out! Thanks for the idea!

There's an app or method to get apps not available in your area or whatever. I forgot what it was. I would think as long as you have a decent to fast internet connection, Onlive should work fine for you. Plus its a free app so technically someone could upload the free apk for you to use. Worth a shot.

that wouldn't even matter. he just make a free account then sign in. there's nothing in the app that's esteeming location, I don't think. I would think as long as he make an account, which is just providing email address and making a user name, he would be good. worth a try. nothing to lose.

Rule the Kingdom

What you think of 'Rule the Kingdom' ?
It seems like a great idea, an rpg + sim/simcity style game.
Its free to download.
The part that I think breaks the gameplay is the huge fremium portion of the game. It takes forever to do anything unless you spend crystals, which are extremely rare unless you buy them with real money.
But without the fremium, I think the game would be great. (I refuse to spend money on fremium games)
EDIT:
Haha, just found a huge exploit in the game, so now you don't need to to buy diamonds to speed things up
The game's time is dependent on the system's time. Meaning if you go to settings and increase a day, a lot of resources you were making just finish instantly (and you get the daily chest).
There are downfalls to placing the system's time back to the real time.
What I did:
Went back to the year 2001, used the diamonds that came originally, to heal my character. Now i'm playing till i pass the game. Safely advancing the time by day. When i complete the game, i go back to today's time and wait for the new content with a loooot of resources hehehe.

I will say it right off the bat, and it goes with ANY game on ANY console; I despise freemium and pay to win. They are horrible and just scam the customer. Even when you "purchase" a game and are able to buy your way through faster and better equipment. I had a game similar to that called MyCountry and I downloaded a cheating client so I could have as much money as I wanted and actually play the game. I can't stand those. Other than that I know quite a bit of people to play that game and enjoy it, so it could be fun. Who knows.
Anyone have suggestions for similar games, pref. with no pay to win / pay to get items ?
Been looking for sim games for ages ( civ like games etc)

Or age of empire like game, or better still a port of space empires
Im surprised there are not more real time startegy games for android, as real time strategy and touchscreen controls seem to go hand in hand if done right

I am a big fan of the SimCity series and EA has a full on port of in the Play Store that is very well made. Very nice touch controls. Don't know if that's your sort of game, but I thought it was worth it. And i completely agree with the A full Touch RTS would be fantastic

Updated the original post with info to make this game free, not fremium.
