[Q] Non-Working Playstation Emulators - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

Hi yall, First time poster.
I've yet to be able to get a PSX Emulator to work on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The 2 Emulators I've tried are FPSE and PSX4 Droid.
They launch, and I can place the bios in, but whenever I launch a game, they just sit there and it brings me back to the file browser.
Both these apps work flawlessly on my HTC Thunderbolt, anyone find out a solution?
I've had my Tab since the 8th of June.
Thanks in advance,
Michael.

Hmm. This is concerning. Hopefully someone can fix this.
You should visit the FPSE website and ask for help from the people there. From what I've seen the Dev is pretty helpful.
A lot more helpful than Zod (psx4droid) anyway.

FPSE working fine for me except cut scenes have choppy sound

I'll download the latest version for FPSE and try again then, will report my findings!

it works! Although it wasn't full screen on my tablet.. So I had to use this backwards method of downloading "Spare Parts" and checking an option to get it to become full screen.
The only downside now is that its mad pixelated.

fpse works for me fine, but the resolution is horrid....its so pixelated.. ><
anyone know how to increase the resolution???

FPSE
i have got the emulator working..now how to you load games on it?? it has only option memory card and cd player..
i have samasung galaxy tab 10.1 that has no sd card on it

FPSe works great for me. For the sound I did the toggle better sound emulation in the options. I also have my Wiimote working with Wiimote Controller.

Hm, that's what I had heard, but I had no issue setting it up like normal. I use Wiimote Controller app.

[Q] Emulators for the 10.1

Has anyone found any good emulators for the 10.1? Most are made for phones so they're usually stretched. I'm looking for a good NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis emulators.
BTW, N64oid (N64 emulator) runs basically perfect on the Tab. Worth a download, though its a bit hard to use touch screen for "Z" and "R"
I'm fairly happy with SNESoid so far, although it's hard to find right now.

Wiimotes have no USB connectivity provisions.

Ok, well, how exactly might one be able to connect a wii controller to the tab and use it for emulators?
Also, I've been trying SNESoid for about a day now and seems to play games well, however, I was just looking for designed for honeycomb (not just supported). Basically, I'm looking for a cleaner interface instead of pixelated buttons (I know its not really important). My other issue is the on-screen buttons are so close to the home/back, and clock buttons, i keep clicking them (this will be solved by using an external controller i suppose)

"Wiimote Control" app on Market.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnGNB3UnyAk
NOTE: Wiimote Control has issues with a lot of third-party Wii accessories. For example, I originally tried the Nyko Wand+ and it failed.
Also, if you have a USB host adapter (homemade or the official Samsung one which is finally in stock - I got mine today), a PS3 or Xbox360 wired controller, or any USB PC controller should work.

why is the N64oid $3.99 and the rest free?
I was really hoping I could play Zelda ocarina of time on my Gtab.
I'm using nesoid... and works great ..

I tried N64oid the other day and a lot of the sound was goofed up. The sound was laggy.. like it came in pulses. Anyone else experience this, or do you think it was just the rom I was using?

It may be due to how they were originally distributed...
ALL of them were paid apps for a while until most were pulled from the market. In the case of yongzh's stuff, there were open source license violations. In the case of psx4droid, it was Sony pressure.
N64oid might not have the same open source licensing issues that all of other yongzh's emulators had.
Im using snes9x ex and will great plus you can adjust the size of you game screen as u like and so much more. Its also compatible with wimote. If you need help there are video tutorials about wii mote on youtube it really helped me a lot. Configuring the keys was a little tricky at first but if you ever need help with that part just ask

I'm fairly certain psx4droid has some issues with all Honeycomb devices.
FPSE works, however visual quality is crap unless you enable some settings that cause massive lagginess.

Newest FPSE works great and 60fps with most games.

FPSE PSX Emulator on NT

Howdy y'all. This isn't really a device-specific question, but I have it on the Nook Tablet, so hopefully that's good enough to keep it here.
I've got FPSE running Final Fantasy VII on my NT, and I had a question of anyone who's played this game on this emulator before, even if on another device: How do I "switch discs" when it comes time to do so?
Thanks!
There is no built in switch disk option with that emulator? Does it let you save right when you need to change a disk? If it does, you might be able to just load the save file and start on the second disk and continue from there.
I'm certain when you reach the end of a disc it automatically takes you to the save screen, then you load the save with the next disc. Just curious, how does the music for FF7 sound on your nook, mine sounds choppy.
Sadly the sound is pretty lousy. Damn shame as the soundtrack was so epic.

I found this on another post here. Try installing psx4droid v2 1.1.2
I couldn't get psx4droid to work until I tried that version. The FF7 soundtrack sounds how it should but at the moment that game is slightly sluggish so I'm trying to find the right settings.
do you have a link for psx4droid apk?
thanks!

I can't post links yet but if you google psx4droid v2 1.1.2 mediafire should be the top page and that's where I got it.

[Q] Emulators after ICS not working

Anyone else try nesoid, snesoid, n64oid, etc?
None work after I updated to ICS. I get the intro screen on the games and then a blank black screen and force close. There goes one of the best things about the tab..
I'm assuming I'll just have to wait for an app update for ICS

My N64oid and SNESoid both work fine after ICS....
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
For me, snesoid seems to be hit or miss now. Donkey Kong Country would load, but after the logo the screen would turn black but with audio. Can't close it afterwards and have to force close.
Games like Final Fantasy III and Super Mario World loads and plays fine though.
Edit: Downloaded SuperGNES and those games now work.
I am also having issues with SNES and ICS. IT will load with a black screen and audio then force close. I have gotten it to load once and it was super smooth for like 10 minutes then my TFP suddenly restarted.
Hoping for some updates or more stable emus! This was one of the main reasons I invested in the keyboard dock for USB controller support.
Anyone else having luck with SNESoid since ICS update?
I have no issues with emulators on ICS. I have snesdroid, Genedroid, Neodeoid, & FPse. All work great. Its always been some roms are hit or miss. Depending on the source you get it from. For me all my emulator games work fine.
SNESoid not working
I am also facing an issue with snesoid with ICS. When i open any rom it goes blank and again returns to the select ROM window.
Update: I installed supergnes and everything works perfectly
What about nesoid? Its very choppy for me on ics. Its on Xperia play.

I have the same problem on my sensation xe, and my galaxy tab 2 7.0
none of them are working. too sad.
anybody has a fix for this?
it seems, yonghz isnt developing anymore?
any help is appreciated.
Disable swiftkey in the Samsung keyboard settings under the language and input tab.

Best usb/wireless/bluetooth gamepad for fpse?

I already consider phonejoy and dualshock ps3 controller.
Too bad if you want to use Wii classic controller you need to own the wiimote for it to work which is expensive and I dont have a Wii.
Any other supported gamepad that works well and compatible for an android smartphones? Besides gametel, which is ridicilously expensive and doesnt have trigger L2 and R2.
I need a gamepad controller that has trigger L2 and R2 buttons just so I can play first person shooter psx games on fpse that requires strafing using the trigger L2 and R2 button such as Syphon Filter series, Quake II, Doom, Duke Nukem and so on.

Dood ......... THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE .......... (in Christopher Lambert's Highlander voice)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179929&page=93
There is a compatability test to ensure it works on your phone, though the app is soooooooooo cheap you may as well just buy it anyways. Dev needs support as he has achieved miracles.
Works flawlessly on most phones and can be configed to work with just about any games (with exception of accelerometer only games) as it now has "Touch controls Emulation".
Its one of the reasons i chose to move to Android
I know, right...

It's kinda a big deal. Sixaxis controller + Samsung MHL Adapter Port Dual-Purpose USB or HDMI Video Out for my Galaxy S2 is a dream. I can now play my roms on my 40"" TV.

If you're looking for more portability than Sixaxis Controller, then I would recommend using the iControlPad - (A quick google search will find you what you're looking for!) - It's absolutely awesome and completely compatible with most android emulators out there.
It is however a tad expensive. Quality, nevertherless.
Hi Hal sorry to bump an old thread! I yesterday bought a new S8+ and was thrilled about it having MHL and looking forward of hooking up my Phonejoy Bluetooth controller again and play me some fpse. However, Bluez IME is no longer to be found on PlayStore? I found the apk somewhere but very afraid of virus or malware stuff. Why is that awesome IME gone?
Does anyone play fpse with a recent phone and recent bluetooth controller? And if so, what's the setup? And any key mapping required etc?
Thanks!!
