Really? Which variant?
I use the 5 screen one and it's flawless. Haven't found a better launcher. I just wish it had landscape mode. Sometimes if I use WidgetLocker and it's in landscape mode, the SE Launcher reloads itself but in landscape mode. Aside from the icons not being placed properly it otherwise looks great.
Wish someone with enough skills could make a variant with landscape mode!

Works great. I think I like it better than the touchwiz one on here

no, its actually more laggy than blur.. haha. if it wasnt laggy i would use it. there is a jerk when you move across homescreens, kind of like when you have a LWP on..

Not for me. It was fast as heck there was just missing apps in the drawers

Agree, but it was a good change for a couple of days.

TW laucher is faster than this, in fact i think its the fastest launcher for our atrix right now. Anyway if you want to make arc launcher faster try reducing the number of applications in each appdrawer page.

I'm kinda feeling it, give me a day or 2!
EDIT: One of the fastest launchers I have ever worked with? The Notification light is not coming on with new e-mail's and text?
EDIT 2: I'm really, really, really digging this launcher. out of the 5 or so I have used in just as many years, speedier than all of them. I love the Gyro effect on the clock screen. Thanks Again!!

Hey all, you do know that the center of the automated clock on home screen comes off to reveal other apps you can change at 3:00? Just hold do the 10 next to the 3:00 and the top flys off the the left!

Funny, I have been waiting ALL night to post here. I was in love with the MX, dont know what happen. Last night, the last 2 screens over lapped each other. I deleted and recreated and put everything back. simple reboot later, its jacked again. I was drinking and too tired to put it back!

Seems like a nice launcher, just wish the styling was different.
I wish there were more themes for this launcher and the ones that are out there didnt cost money. I think this is a great launcher but im not real keen on the theme.

Where? I only see a few and almost all of them are paid skins.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
There are more themes in Google Play than in the built-in theme selector. Maybe that's what (s)he's seeing.
This launcher is cool, but it feels rushed in a few ways. For example, why can't I configure:
Where the MX (Cover screen?) button goes
Where the app drawer icon goes, or its icon (and why isn't it themed?)
The number of docks. I just want the one.
The task killer. I can already open it by long-pressing app drawer. Yet I can't move the dedicated task killer launcher (from dock 2).
The names and colors of the folders in the app drawer. No "Games"? And what is Lifestyle anyway?
The icons on the clock. Yes, I know I can change them, but to select Music, I have to have it launch the stock Blur music app? No thanks, I like the MIUI one, TYVM. Likewise with Contacts, I can't make it open Contapps. Gallery won't open QuickPic. You see where this is going.
The home screen indicator. I'm fine with it being there when I'm changing screens, but all the time? Not feeling it.
Other than that, it is a nice launcher. When placing icons, you get the grid from GO Launcher EX. Also from GO is the home screen configuration (press Home, this lets you add or remove home screens, or move them around). From GO and ADW it has a popup when long-pressing icons; other than being more visually impressive, it adds an Info option which takes you to its page in Settings/Applications (this is good if you want to force close the app, or maybe clear its cache, or remove its defaults).
The settings are also really bare and spread out amongst some confusing labels.
This app has a couple neat ideas. The app drawer and cover screen are nice touches, but the customization is very shallow. It feels like a beta, a work in progress. I'll keep it around because this thing is just dripping with potential.

I gave it a shot, can't seem to change icons for ones I've made? It runs fairly smooth on joker's skinny ROM...I wanted to find the transition where it was like pages as seen on the market screenshot, but couldn't find it... went back to GO Launcher...
EDIT: tapped the screen indicator to get the pages transition..pretty cool, but still would like to theme with my own icons...overall a good launcher to try out!

It does work well, but unfortunately has a limited number of themes...many of which look very much the same. Ultimately find LauncherPro or ADW to be more my speed, and frankly on the Photon, all run well/fast/smooth unless you have some improperly functioning widget...
does anyone know how to active the lockscreen on this launcher? In preferences I go to Lockscreen Setting but all the options are greyed out. Whats going on there?

Oops meant to press quote, but you could try using the stock HC launcher. I like that the best out of all the ones I've tried
I basically have 3 issues with it #1 wasted screen real estate, #2 no folder support, and and #3, can't delete unused home screens

I think he meant the stock honeycomb launcher, not the stock htc launcher. The stock honeycomb launcher does not have wasted space, the other two I'm not sure about.
Ah yeah I saw a "t" in there that wasn't there lol. Yeah I saw the team syndicate one and I tried it out, only problem is it was kinda designed for gb and froyo so it has a virtual notification bar that can't be disabled... However that was the free version it might be able to be disabled on the paid I dunno. Anywhere on XDA I could just grab the apk for the actual stock launcher and install it?

GO Launcher EX is good. Has lots of features that most Launchers don't
But I always miss the glorious sense widgets that you cannot get any where else.
Honestly I've warmed up to the sense launcher a bit. Its basic and bare but the cool animations and awesome sense widgets make it worth using. As far as real estate, Go launcher HD had the issue too, just seems to be a honeycomb thing so whatever really. Think I'll just stick with Sense for now!
yea go launcher HD (beta) is a nice alternative to the stock or htc launchers for sure. just started using it today and really like the folder support
it's not on the market u'll have to search around for it
Yeah I found it from a google search, had a download link, and thats how I got it
Yeah I tried Go Launcher HD and it certainly a beta. Need lots of work.

Apex or Nova and why?

So I have been using Apex lately but want to know which one everyone prefers and why
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
I really dont see that big of a difference between the two.
Honestly, apex. It has features in the free version that you have to pay for in Nova. I like the app drawer setting to hide apps from the drawer. It seemed smoother for me too. I put apex, nova, trebuche and miui launchers through the paces and I found apex to be the best. If miui launcher wasn't so buggy, I'd use that but yea. I use apex on miui and cm9

You can always try this one:

Its actually pretty nice. Features arent all there, but still nice for a simple launcher.
Apex because of the options and customizing I can do with it.

Yeah I prefer apex too, just a better experience overall than nova. I've got the paid version but as mentioned before if you're going for free, apex is absolutely the way to go.

Its too bad that the X2 is not on a nightly CM9 build schedule like the Nook Color. The CM9 trebuche launcher is getting better everyday and is almost on par with Apex now. Soon it will exceed in features, but we are stuck on an old build of CM9.
Can we not just grab the trebuchet launcher apk from a nightly and give it a try?
