Cancelled My Amazon Order! - HTC EVO 3D

Just got off the phone with Amazon, if you read the product description, it DOES NOT come with an SD card, translation - no movies or games in 3D. I want the phone for the processor, but when I get it I want the "cool" part too. I'm paying full retail so I'm going to end up adding a line and getting it for the discount, then... Still will be less than the $500 after activation and I get it tomorrow. If anyone is in the same boat you might want to re-think it.

wirelessmarketplus looks suspiciously similar to wirefly...

But that doesn't come with SD card either, unless I missed it

It's probably just a description error since the phone isnt out yet. I dont see why they would take out the microSD card, boxes are probably shipped sealed.

No, I just off the phone with them too and they said the same thing. It's one of the reasons why the phone is cheaper with them.

An 8 GB SDHC card off Newegg is 12 bucks. If you're spending more than 12$ more somewhere else, you're losing out.
Just saying.

No way it comes without a SD card. Someone doesn't know what they are talking about at Amazon. They get the same box everyone else gets from Sprint

That's what I was thinking too. In all the unboxings you watch, the SD card is sitting there inside the phone already. Unless Amazon opens all them, and takes the SD card out? (Sarcasm)...
The rep was probably like: SD card with the phone? Um, no. You get the phone, that's it. We don't give you a free SD card shipped with it... Completely unawares that the SD card is already in there...
But you never know!

Woah wait does my wirefly one not come with 3d stuff preloaded??!?!?! Or an sd card??!!!
I have a 32gb right here, but still... I was going to watch it on the way to new braunsfels

The guy is just seems to be spamming the board with that link and code.

I spoke to HTC also, the sd card and software on it is up to each retailer.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App

well that sucks

I really do not think you guys should worry. The chances that the amazon orders do not come with the same sd card that everyone else is getting is slim to none. The folks at amazon are simply reading off the same information that you were when you called in and are simply repeating that the description states no sd card. Desription is more than likely wrong.

I agree about them reading straight off the website like I was, and they both admitted it, but if you look at the other phones on Amazon (EVO, Thunderbolt) they specifically state they come with 8GB or 16 and can support up to 32 GB. EVO 3D only says can support up to 32 GB sd card. Thus the cancellation

According to a wire fly rep on another android board your eve 3d will come with the same thing that comes from sprint.

You kidding? Amazon reps = fail. Ive called in several times about false listings... they just credit me about 20 percent of the purchase cost and I am on my way. (If it was missing something)
They gave me back $25 on a pair of $80 earphones because it was missing the cleaning tool haha.

That's very weird. I thought Amazon was just a powerhouse when it came to selling items, so they could afford to be cheaper (like walmart).

this has been beaten to death. THe phone comes with an sd card, end of story. It is the same box that sprint ships you. They cant sell anything other than what sprint would give you. They dont open the boxes and take out the cards, that is stupid. All the websites have issues sometimes when it comes to discription. If you wanna know the true specs always go by the original specs from sprint.
The reps will never guarantee anything. Obviously a sprint or htc rep is going to not guarantee if the third party will come with a card or not. Trust me it is their job to save their ass by not promising you anything. Sprint rep will tell you to buy from sprint if you want a great product, it is typical.
When my phone comes from amazon and I will let you know that it came with the sd card.

They never open the box to tell you what comes inside of it, neither they have the box right next to them to see what it says on there. Just go by HTC and Sprint, those are the real specs. Wirefly, amazon can say it doesn't come with the card, if sprint says it comes with the card then it comes with it.
This was the same issue with thunderbolts where bestbuy website said it doesn't come with the card, I asked the guy at store and he said the phones come directly from verizon or HTC and we dont even touch them. They are the same phones that verizon would give you in their store. To think that we take out sd card is obsurd.

Wow all this issue about the description not saying it includes an SD card, yet no one noticed that the amazon listing still says it records in 1080p. So if you want to believe that amazon honestly gets a different box than Sprint and has a different product then you might as well believe that you will be able to record in 1080p, sounds like a hell of a bargain to me.
To be clear, I'm not saying I expect that Amazon shipped E3D's will shoot 1080p, but you might as well believe that if you are taking their description at face value.

Ouch that sucks you really should have made a backup copy of you SD card before formatting it. If you are talking about the Transformer movies if you are lucky you might can get someone to compress and e-mail you the movies. Or you could try going to your local T-Mobile store and see if they can take the SD card out of a new HD2 and copy the movies from it to your SD card. Last option is if your HD2 is still under warranty you could try to get them to send you a replacement SD card by telling them it is faulty, the replacment would have the movies on it.
Edit: You can also try to find a torrent site to download them from.
you wont find links to them on this site, they are warez as soon as they leave the sd card, , however they deffinately are available as mentioned above as torrents or from rapidshare and the like.

How about a data recovery program, "Recuva" (free) has saved many files after a format for me, if quick scan doesn't work, try full scan, takes some time, but works for restoring deleted data.
In so cal, the HD2's were taken out of inventory a month ago. After my phone froze, they tell me to come into their corporate store for an in store warranty exchange. Only to find out not 1 store in so cal had one.
T Mobile may have the best customer service, but their knowledge is going to sh!t.
Ask 3 different employees the same question, and you'll probably get 3 different answers. My experience in the last 2 years from being a 10 year customer.

Yes, luckily.
Touch screen stopped responding randomly, went completely out within 2 days.
Called T Mobile store(same 1 that's always solved my problems) employee said to bring my phone into the store, they will swap it out for me.
Go to the store, ask about the in store warranty exchange for HD2, guy smiles at me, "we took those out of our stores a month ago."
?? I was just told to bring in my HD2 because you can swap it out. They say call customer care.
Call customer care, tell them I've ran through troubleshooting, updating stock rom, same touch screen problems. They say they'll ship it express, waive the fee, and it'll be there friday.
Friday comes and goes, Saturday ask them where my package is. They say they don't know, I say thats ridiculous. 4 calls and 4 different employees later, they still have no idea where my phone is, even though it DID process.
I ask them what can they do, they remove the shipping charge for express, which also was going to automatically be credited once the phone DID ship. Okay, -20 dollars off my bill.
I plead come sunday they overnight me my phone, they said FRIDAY I would have it, they guaranteed it because I called them at 7am monday, before cut-off, but alas, they do not overnight shipping, only Assurion(phone insurance does). All this other jargon about not being able to double process an order till after 7 days of initial order. Utter BS.
Needless to say, Monday morning, theres my package with OVERNIGHT delivery on the label. Flashed the phone back to stock, swapped it out and I'm back in business.
Called them to have them credit the week I did not have my phone, 13 more dollars off. Login to my account, see that the other 20 dollar express charge came off.
So, they paid me 33 dollars in the end, + free OVERNIGHT Shipping(which they said they couldn't do) for an HD2 that I bought secondhand off craigslist. Luckily the warranty transfers over, mines still good till Oct. 2011.
Really, got lucky, who would think the warranty is transferrable, thought I was screwed.
scariola you were pretty lucky. I had the same issue as SharkBait Ha, i accidentally formatted my sd card with all my default folders and Transformers Movies, so then i called HTC 1(888)356-2375. i told a representative from HTC that my SD Card gave me a lot of issues. within 3 min they told me that there where sorry about the SD Card and i was going to get a new SD Card within 3-4 days. sure enough 3 days when by and i received a new 16GB Samsung Class 2.

64GB MicroSDxc

Anyone know if this is compatible with the Amaze?
Just curious if anyone has actually tried it.

Haven't tried it but for what I hear and understand it won't work.
That's what I thought. Too bad! Woulda been nice to have 64gb of music and videos on my phone!
There has been report on Android Community that indeed this new SDXC cards works on many devices - both old and new phone, tablet (SGII, SGS, HTC Sensation ... )
http://androidcommunity.com/sandisk...working-on-multiple-android-devices-20110927/
On Sony
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339600
Eee Pad
64Gb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278950
Some other devices also confirmed works with even the 128Gb SDXC card
128Gb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342699
Gathering infos from those link, it seems like one will have to using the phone to format (aka erase the card from inside the phone) the card and in some case, formatted it to NTFS
Some time ago while i still had htc sensation there was a post about it and 64 gb worked but not the 128gb. I assume its the same for the amaze but dont takemy word for it search the forums. From what i found the galaxy note cant use 128 gb one

If anyone has knowledge of what works on the Amaze please let us know!
Guess we're just going to have to wait for someone to buy one of those 64 or 128 cards and find out. I went ahead and bought a 32gb card last week before I even saw this post. Too bad, if I'd have known there was a possibility that the 64 would work, I would've gotten that one.

I use Google music but then again you need data connection and it uses bandwidth. Not a big music listener. I'm more of a photo person hence the amaze.
I thought the Amaze accept 32GB max.
how could you use 64GB, is there any way how to bypass this limit ?
if it worked on the sensation why wouldnt it on the amaze?

That was my plan. I have some Best Buy gift cards but unfortunately they are sold out. If the price stays the same when they are back in stock I may do it.
I get paid this Thursday and I was going to get a 32 but if anyone can find the 64 in stock by then I will give it a shot and let everyone know if it works
Does Bestbuy have a restocking fee?
I would try it but I hardly use the entire 32gb on my existing card so don't really have a need for it.
Maybe if someone worked at a place that sold them and they could just try it out. Maybe that's asking a lot though.

Hey y'all,
I noticed some wondering about this card.
So I got mine from Amazon, class10 64mb sdxc
When I first put it in, notification said card error.
Then it prompted me to reformat.
I let the amaze reformat her and now I've got 60 gb free showing in the settings apk under storage.
Just wanted everyone to feel confident I'd they want to spend the money, several vendors addy amazon do have the cards in stock now.
Good luck!
i may have to end up ordering one
I've returned a 32Gb PNY card about two weeks ago from BestBuy and there is no restocking fee charged.

Yeah, cause I've heard many many MANY stories about people buying MP3 players and SD cards from China saying a certain size, and when you plug it into the computer, it says the same thing, but really is half or a quarter of the size. Those Chinese are always ****ing with us in the states.

u have to know this is a fake right? Its probably only 4 GB.
Ordered a couple of "original" Kingston 16GB microsd cards from China.
Most of them are f*ucked one way or the other. Wrong size meaning it fails when you pass the real size limit. Others lose all data when powercycling, turn on/off. Others just don't work in cell phones but work on PCs. Then there are combinations of the above...
Good luck!
Yep, don't go for it. It's so easy for these Chinese resellers to take a 2gb card, paint a 3 in front of the 2, and make it look like a 32gb card.
99% sure that's fake. I just got a class 4 32gb from amazon and I can't tell much of a difference from my class 10 smaller card. Reads are really similar
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
The same seller has a 64gb microsdxc card for $18.88 - they retail at Best Buy for $199 regularly and the cheapest I've seen online is $150. One guy here in XDA said he found one for $99 at Best Buy not too long ago, but even if $99 was the going rate, that's still an 80% discount.
So yeah, definitely seems too good to be true if you ask me.

Hopefully I'll be able to do the same if such a situation occurs. Ordered one this morning out of blind excitement.
Never buy from china.. Even if its 32 gb it won't even last a week. Trust me I bought tons of stuff from ebay (shipped from china)...
Chances are that it will be fake. And to get your money back, you probably will have to pay to ship it back - costing you as much as if you just ate the cost of the card.
I know from experience... Was worth the chance and found out that I just donated to some Chinese guy's new car.
here's the test, make a rar archive 20gb+ in size and split the files into any size less than 3gb. transfer all the files on to the sdcard, then transfer them off. transfer them back on and off again. then try unraring. if it falls, you got scammed, if it passes then send it to guinness as the first sdcard purchased at a massive discount that wasn't a fraud
Just chiming in, I had a decent quality Class 10 (Lexar) and it sucked for any application that did caching to it (decent amount of them). I'm much much happier with my Sandisk class 4. Random access small file performance is MUCH better. No lag

I'm sorry LG, but AT&T is ruining your product launch

LG you are going to lose sales and it will all be AT&T's fault. Three stores and a support call later, I am empty-handed with no LG G2.
One store said they didn't know what it was and didn't think the phone was in stock yet, put me on hold, and never came back. I waited exactly 10 minutes on the dot, and hung up. Second time I called back, they knew what it was but said they didn't have it yet (ugh). I asked if they had a demo model, they said no demo model available. In this store's slight-defense, it was an AT&T retailer, not an AT&T store.
Another store said they haven't gotten their shipment yet (what?). My guess by the vocal tone was that they actually had no idea what they were talking about, I decided I didn't want to deal with that and proceeded on.
Third store, a big fancy store in a huge ritzy strip mall...yes, we have the G2. Okay, great, so I drive down...
No display. No advertising. In fact, the rep didn't even know what it was and instead asked if I wanted to look at the S4 instead, no, I pulled my S4 out of my pocket and said I already have one. I am buying a G2 for the Snapdragon 800, the display, and the battery tech. The rep asked the manager, the manager said they just got them in stock but haven't put any out yet so they'd be right back. I sat there for 5 minutes. Turns out they do not have a demo model either, so they had to pop a packaged one open for me.
Looks good. Proceed to buy, ask for screen protectors (I hate AT&T screen protectors, btw, they degrade image quality, but I wanted to protect it until better ones come in the mail). They have no cases or screen protectors in stock, and as far as they can tell in the system they don't have any on the way.
Great. Fine, whatever.
"Wait, is this the 16GB model?"
Rep didn't know. Box doesn't say. Support documents on their iPad that they pull up are a mess of broken links, missing info, and NOTHING about storage capacity.
They then told me that I can just buy an SD Card for it. I laughed and said it doesn't use an SD Card, they didn't believe me and checked the phone all over...okay, customer right.
I said a 16GB model won't work for me and I need the 32GB one. They check their system and their incoming stock, nothing about 32GB models. They disappear in the back again. Per them on their return, retail stores will only be getting the 16GB model, and the 32GB model is only available online. Ugh!
I call AT&T up and the rep says something to the effect of the 32GB models not being available because so many people are buying it up in stores. What a lie. I corrected him and said the phone just came out today and even though I want one I can't even find a store who knows what it is. He checks again, okay, maybe the retail stores didn't get 32GB ones and they are only available online. He said I can order online or through him, except as soon as it turns out I am paying full retail, he directs me to order it online instead. Great service.
LG, you've made a great phone with great technology and you are losing sales by the minute due to AT&T incompetence. No, I don't want to pre-order an iPhone. No, I don't want an S4.
I can barely buy an LG G2 when I know I want one, how is anyone else going to get it?
I totally agree. Walked in the local [email protected] store today and not even a display was up. IPhone 5c was definitely being advertised though. I asked for the lg g2 and they looked confused. Had to grab the manager to find out they actually had them in. the manager confirmed it was in. I was gonna buy it retail but I was turned away because I'm not an [email protected] customer. Ridiculous
This sounds more like Verizon than anything.
usually AT&T is pretty good.
I went to my local store and they were more than willing to help me.
They always are...
Asked about accessories and they ran to the back to check and came back wiht this horrid body glove case but...

Since they had no demo they didn't want me turning on and bypassing activation on the other unless I bought it.
The retail LG G2 costs $540, the online one costs $575. Another indication that the retail store model comes with less storage.
You not lying when I went in the store to buy me and my gf on we had to tell the rep what it was she hadn't even did the training but all that aside I love this fun

Can you confirm 16gb storage for the retail model?
No problem in Atlanta. Went to a store when they opened. They brought me the box, tired to sell me on Next, I laughed.... bought the 32gb version and love it so far.

Since they had no demo they didn't want me turning on and bypassing activation on the other unless I bought it.

Wow. Based on everything I've read, they haven't released an American version with 16GB. http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-D800-g2 That states that the LG G2 for AT&T has 32GB of storage. I'm not arguing, but I am researching this as well. I have heard people asking the same question, but everything I've read leads me to believe all US versions are 32GB.

Kimberly: Thank you for chatting in with Best Buy Mobile, my name is Kimberly. What questions may I answer for you today?
Yes can you confirm something for me?
Meroduct SKU 1715501, does this come with 16 or 32GB of storage space?
Kimberly: It is a 16GB phone memory.
Me: I don't believe that LG released a US version with 16GB of internal memory. Since there is no expansion slot for an SD card, this is a major deal.
Kimberly: This phone does have a slot for an SD card (up to 64GB card).
Me: No ma'am it doesn't. That I can confirm most definitely.
Me: No version of the phone has a slot for expansion. The battery is not removable.
Kimberly: Media card slot
Accepts microSD cards up to 64GB (not included). This is under the specs.
Me: So is 5.5" display, but that isn't true either.
Kimberly: Well that is just a mis type.
This is a conversation I had with a Best Buy rep. She was far from helpful. I promptly reviewed my experience as negative when she disconnected after saying that.

No problem.
Based on your comment and some others here, I called 3 more stores. 2 will let me order it and have it shipped to my house, but don't stock any. But...wait for it...
The third one has both 16GB and 32GB models, $540 and $575 respectively, and I can pick it up anytime this evening. Yay!
...except I can't cancel my online order, apparently it is too late, so now I have two...
All companies are preparing for the new iPhone which launch in a few weeks. Saw a friend who works, for Verizon email yesterday.... basically said don't push any phones because the next 2weeks they are training on iPhone and ios7...

Ouuuuch. I'm really feeling bad for LG. This phone doesn't even stand a chance if stuff like that keeps up...
I had to drive 20 min to a corporate store, walk past an entire wall of Samsung products, and ask to be led to the G2. I am now a proud owner.

I've spoken with 4 different Best Buy reps and an AT&T rep that know almost nothing about the device. The Best Buy reps all claim that the phone is available in white from them. The AT&T rep says that the phone isn't available in white. One Best Buy rep told me that the white phone is a 16GB phone. I'm getting conflicting answers and according to LG's site, the D-800 LG G2 comes with 32GB of internal storage.
Can someone ask the mods to combine this thread with the other complaint thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443438
Kinda useless to have two threads to bash the same company.
However, I would like to see one bashing a Verizon store.
Can someone go to a Verizon store and have a bad experience then come complain on XDA?

Picked the LG G2 up from att store today for$540. 32gb With 24.12gb usable.

Walked into my local store after work to pick up the G2, one the rep who helped me had no idea what the phone was, even tho I was right in front of the phone when he approach me. I asked him whether it was with or 32 and couldn't tell me. I literally had to open the box to find out lol, guy was pushing the iPhone on me and wondering why I didn't just get an iPhone 5 lol, So yes AT&T at least in this location is not helping LG out at all.

Why couldn't you just turn the phone on go into settings and hit storage to see what the storage is? Anyway I'm in Louisiana and I was in and out of att in less than 15 minutes. Same story with my s4. The ipads make upgrading smooth as butter. Go att.

Note8 SD Cards Not Shipping Yet

For those who have had their Note8's shipped recently (Thurs-Fri) and have chosen the SD Card+Charging Pad bundle, have you had your SD Card ship? Mine still says Preorder despite my phone and charging pad coming tomorrow or Tuesday. I also wonder if we'll get 128GB cards instead of the 256's.
Let me know!
I have a feeling their warehouse people f*cked up. They were supposed to send out 128gb cards and the wireless charger but put in 256gb cards and the charger. Someone up the totem pole caught on to this and had all shipments stopped. Since customers will riot if they held the whole order while they fixed the mixup, they let the phones and chargers ship while holding the cards until they could get the proper ones.
^^^I was wondering why I received the 256 card with my shipment.

Makes sense. Too bad that means the rest of us will probably get the 128GB ones instead (though that's what was advertised so I guess its fair...?)
UPDATE: I talked to a CS guy on Live Chat and he said that they'll ship by September 13th, we'll see if he was right or not.
if we do get the 128 card, I will make an attempt to complain that others received the 256 card....im sure I will lose but its worth a shot

Agree. They seemed to ship quite a few with 256 GB cards. The right email to the right person will likely get us 256 cards. I'm betting they won't even ask for the 128 back.
I think I read that Samsung confirmed they're sending out 256GB so I would imagine that will continue.

Do you have a source link for what you read?
My sd and charger wont ship until mid of Oct. I was hoping i would get a 256gb on but i know someone at samsung probably mess up and that wont happen.
I was surprises that that it was approved right away. I remember my s8 plus one took a week.
I spoke with a rep today from Samsung on the phone. They currently have a back-order for all sd memory card. She doesn't know when they will get new ones in. So yeah, we won't see it anytime soon.
my ship day stated is for 10-9 .. I figured it was back ordered.

I'm growing tired of waiting for this. Had the phone now a while and still cant charge it wirelessly or use an SD card. Thanks Samsung, had enough phones to send out for preorders, but not half of that ready to send out to those customers? Someone dropped the ball big time.

I think they vastly overestimated the popularity of the Gear360 camera, and received far more orders for the charger/memory card combo than anticipated.

Yeah maybe, my note 3 took 360 pictures, wth do I need a separate device to do it for? Even so 6 to 8 weeks is ridiculous, that means they aren't even in the states most likely, if you are anticipating to sell a device for more then just the preorder, you should be prepared. It's like a pizza shop handing out by one get one free coupons and then running out of dough in the first two hours and telling people you'll give them the free pizza in 8 weeks. People would rage, especially hangry people lol.

I think you're right on that one - I got the phone on the 15th but was lazy and didn't complete the offer until the 20th. It said 6-8 weeks ... but now it says the ship date is DECEMBER 4TH! So ... more like 12-13 weeks?!
I mean it is what it is - most of us probably already have fast-charge wireless pads and memory cards ... but to hell with that camera.
If they had offered the Gear VR Note 8 edition w/controller like they did for the SGS7 I would probably have gone that route.
My card switched to "BACKORDERED" today, great. We'll see if or when I get it.. http://prntscr.com/gq1izb

Where are you seeing this status? That's not what I see when I check the Shop Samsung app or the "Samsung Promotion Status" website...
