[Q] Help with in call volume - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I need some help, I had a broken screen and when I replaced it I managed to break both the side volume buttons!
Now I can live with this until I order a replacement ribbon but since I don't have the side volume buttons any more I cannot adjust the speaker volume while i'm making a phone call and it's set to quite low at the moment.
Does anybody know what the program is called so I can invoke it set it to max and close it or at least the registry value that controls this?
Please note both system and ringer volumes are set to max through the device settings, it's the volume during a call I wish to increase...
Thanks in advance!

Did I ask the only un-answerable question in this entire forum?!?!

Put "windows mobile volume setting" into google. The first two links give you some freeware apps that allow you to edit volume on the screen itself.

Can't adjust volume during call

I have a Sprint Touch Pro and for some reason I can't adjust the volume during a call. When I hit the volume keys on the side of the TP, the volume screen pops up and the System volume indicator increases or decreases with presses of the keys, but the call volume doesn't change at all.
I have installed the modified audiopara3.csv file to increase the phone's volume, and also have used Diamond Tweak to disable the 100db limit and set the Increase Sound option to High. Any suggestions?
Which volume screen pops up? The HTC one or the Microsoft Windows Mobile default one?
At least for me, the "fix" was to enable the Microsoft default one.

Thanks! That worked.
What Exactley does the cab listed above do? When I try to change the volume during a call it just changes the ringer/system volume as it normally would. I don't want to disable the volume controls all together when I press the side buttons though.

Thanks
Thanks a lot for this, finally getting this verizon brick to be half decent!

Disable Volume buttons when not using the phone?

I very often become irritated over accidentally touching the Volume buttons when not using the phone, for example when writing a text message in landscape mode, as touching the Volume buttons means changing the ringer status to for example vibrating or soundless.
Is is possible to disable the Volume buttons when not the using phone for calls?
I now that this means that I need to use the settings in order to change ringer volume etc.
Thank you in advance.
I too get annoyed by the same thing,
Glad its just not me,
I would also like to know if this is possible.
I don't know if it is possible to disable the controls but an app called ringer volume control http://www.androlib.com/android.application.vol-qwmn.aspx will restore the ringer volume to the level you have choosen in the program.
Thanks
That app works great.

[Q] HD2 Volume Step too big - Changeable?

Hallo,
everytime one adjusts the volume of the HD2 with the devices hardware buttons, the step is very high.
I have been searching the forum, but I didn't find any solution, how to decrease the stepwidth - only have seen, that some other people have the same issue (but no solution).
Is there any possibility to manipulate the stepwitdh????
I have checked the registry and I am wondering if in one of the following reg.keys the stepwidth might be coded:
HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay
=> I guess this is the HTC Volume control screen, which appears when you press the hardware buttons. But I have no clue if one of the entries defines the stepwitdh.
The other possibility I see here:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume
I would like to have some feedback, before trying to mess in the registry.

I do remember there being a fix for this, as far as I can remember it was an image that you drop and dragged into your windows folder and that some how fixes it.
I do think it's quite annoying, it's also really laggy when I hold down my volume key as opposed to tap it per each jump in volume level.
Anyway I don't know where it is but hopefully someone can post it cause I'm after it aswell
maybe you already know, but you can adjust the slider onscreen with your finger and achieve smaller steps of adjustment than can be achieved using the hardware buttons.....
@rumpleforeskin
I know that via touchscreen the volume can be adjusted finer. The issue is...
well try this, while you have your mobile in the beltpocket, listening to music.
I just want to adjust the volume in this situation with the hardwarekeys.

I don't understand why there isn't a fix for this, volumex is a commercial program that does it. But the normal volume control app is perfect, only the steps are indeed way to big...
yeah, i have the same problem i usually listen to max -1 or -2 bars (trance music) and everytime i have to resort to using fingers to slide the volume to max-1/-2. is there a way to adjust each button press = 1 bar?
Anyone know a registry fix for this?
try this, maybe it'll help

[Q] How to disable the Vol UP and Down from changing Ringer loudness

Hello everyone,
I am really annoyed with this feature that causes change in ringtone notification sound if you happen to hit VOL UP and DOWN keys on idle screen (when on unlocked screen). I happen to hit these keys quite often and my ringer volume is often too low and I wonder why didn't I hear my phone ring?
In my opinion, if I need to lower down the ringer volume (or increase it) I'd do it from settings menu under voice call management.
Is there a way to disable this "shortcut" to increase decrease ringer volume when on idle screen, or doing anything while screen is unlocked?
thanks...
Bump.... so is this impossible to achieve guys?
I dont think ive ever heard anyone complaining about it. I suppose you can use something like settings profile to keep it constant, but as far as remapping the volume keys I havent seen anything yet

[Q] Avoid accidental mute disabling

Hello,
S3 is my first smartphone ever, so please be patient
Since I'm a student, I put my phone on mute during the classes (through the notification bar).
However, it happened to me twice now that accidental touch on volume up hard key took me out of mute. This is of course undesirable... Is there a way to disable this function of volume-up key?
I want to remain muted until I cancel it on notification bar.
Thanks!
bump... can anyone help?
Sad....it remains a big drawback of the android phones that we cant make different profiles for volume like Nokia phones......
I think you can only do this by finding a tone with no sound and setting it for all the alerts manally from sound setting before entering your class room
anyhow this is a good question and hope some devs can desable vol- button for enabling full vol. back
Thanks...
but modifying it manually at the beginning of each class, then again at the end, is not very comfortable.
Perhaps it can be fixed with a mod? something like that:
- clicking volume up if phone is not muted increases the volume, as usual.
- clicking volume up if phone is muted doesn't do anything.
