Where the Service Mode is stored? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I have found many tricks and helpful info in this forum, so many thanks!
I one of these people having issues with volume on my Samsung Galaxy S2 when I use headphones (in call but not with music). The way that really worked to me is through the Service Mode (hidden menu), however the information doesn't get saved and after reboot you need to go through the process again.
Any idea where is the file for the Service Mode for me to edit it and save it with the setting I like?
It must have a file somewhere with all setting of this Service Mode (hidden menu)...
Any help will be highly appreciated!

[Q] Optimal Settings for AngryGPS

First off, I used the search tool in an attempt to find an answer to my problem, but no luck. Anyway onto the question. I recently flashed Simply Honey 3.9.1 without any error. I heard about altering AngryGPS settings to help remedy the GPS problems that plague the Samsung Vibrant. Does anyone know what the best settings are for the application to get the best/fastest/most accurate GPS readings? Thanks in advance for any and all answers.
I too would like to know. And, is it necessary to change the name from angrygps.APk to angrygps.Bak? There seems to be some mixed thoughts on this.

[Q] Where is voice talk?

Hello,
I just purchased a Galaxy S II, model SHW-M250S. However, I do not think it came with the voice talk software. Does anyone know why that would be? Any way to add it to the phone (other than vlingo from the app store) I have been trying to figure it out online for a little bit now so I am posing the question to those with a lot more knowledge about phones than myself. Thank you.
You mean a voice command application? Vlingo is the closest you can get right now.
Yes voice commands. I thought the GS2 came with a "voice talk" application preloaded. In videos I have seen users just click applications and it is right but my phone lacks this.
There are three, voice talk, voice command, and voice search. Not sure what are the difference among them as they all seem to do more or less the same thing.
Sent from my phone via tap tap tap
Hmm, well I have the voice search but it just searches google. It won't open apps or let me dictate messages or anything.
You are right, I got them confused, voice search does google, but the other two more or less do the same thing. They should all be in your app drawer.
I don't think they are I wonder how it got left off the phone? Kinda disappointing. Too expensive of a phone to be missing stuff imo.
I have been searching high and low for an APK that has those, but I have not come up with anything so far... lost it when I flashed a complete WIPE custom rom... I'll be ever so thankful if anybody uploads or directs me to said APK...

double tap home button and if its the first time you've done it you will need to click ok to samsung Disclaimer - No need to install another app

Native email app (missing 'mark as read')

I swear to God the first time I'm installed an ICS leak, I noticed that the email app finally had the option I was looking for. When you mark some emails down the lefthandside in the checkbox, you can bring up the menu and choose mark as read, or mark ALL as read.
Now released fully, ICS does not have this, only single mails at a time by long pressing on them.
Is this something someone can modify easily? Surely I'm not alone with this missing feature? I did find another developer that had made one, but I tired (and failed) to use it. The app loads, but crashes when retrieving mails.

Can any clever people help out here - pretty please?
Does have that option, look hard
Hint: its an icon not menu item.

Thanks for the reply, boy do I feel an idiot now. But, to be fair [trying to justify my stupidy], it *was* a menu option before.

Mark all as read on s2
Shame that this tread does not conclude with some more detail.
because you might get it while im still in the mist.
I still have not worked out how to mark all mail as read on a S2 with a 4.0.3 set up.
could anyone please be so kind to really clear this up for us?

Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII

Is it possible to see numbers I typed in previous call?

Here's the thing, someone called me today and during the call I pressed a few numbers, then the call ended before I could save them somewhere. Is it possible to find them somewhere?
I could really use a quick help as this is pretty urgent.

You could try with Call Log Tools app, although I don't know if this record this numbers. You can download it from Google Play.

Nope. as you have typed those numbers during the call and didn't saved it anywhere neither you have press "Call" button over those number after that call was ended, therefore they weren't saved anywhere and neither you can get those back in any way from your phone. I hope this answers the question.

[Q] "Download too large for operator network"

Folks,
Is there any way of stopping the KFHDX nannying me?
I have an unlimited data plan, and want to be able to download anything I want WHEN I want.
However when I try to download large files (especially audio books), the KFHDX comes up with the error in the title.
I find this very annoying, and was wondering if there is a way of overriding this settings somewhere?
I've been through all the menu's but I can't find it!
*BUMP*
Come on - nobody have any idea? I'm losing faith in the power of XDA, here!
Right. After a lot of Google-ing, I found this:
https://android.googlesource.com/pl...afdec0e2229368d3cc20d0/res/values/strings.xml
Can someone who understands this confirm that it is the CARRIER (EE in my case) that specifies the download limit, and not the device?
A string further down mentions the option of having a button present that overrides the restriction, and starts the download anyway. That button is obviously not present on the KFHDX, so I guess Amazon decided that we really don't want to use 4G to download stuff... :-S
What files would need to be tweaked to enable this?
200+ views, no answers? Hm.
I hear crickets & is that a tumbleweed I see?

Hey there, it's really annoying and frustrating if so many people see your thread and don't answer! I know, cause I had some threads myself where i didn't get any response. So I am just stepping by to say hello and tell you that I have no idea how to help you
From what I understand though,it's an operator thing. What do the officials (your operator and Amazon) say about this?
