[Q] Teardown? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a teardown of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 anywhere? I was looking for one, especially one that includes prices for the components.

I'm pretty sure iFixit will tear one down very soon.

TechRepublic did it! Galaxy Tab 10.1 tear down!

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I'd like more details about the screen. Would it be possible to buy a replacement screen for the galaxy tab 10.1, and hook it up to a computer (maybe make a vga/dvi/hdmi adaptor for the screen's connector)?

Asus Eee Pad vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Short question, I am going to buy a tablet tomorrow, I like the idea of having 48GB with an Asus, since I can buy a 32GB microSD card
However, I like the idea of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it is SUPER light (I tested it on Verizon today)
however, the Asus Eee Pad transformer weights about the same as an original iPad, so it wouldn't be too bad
I want to use it for
1) GPS
2) Videos
3) eBooks
4) Android in general
There is a $200 difference between an expandable Asus Eee Pad Transformer and a non-expandable 32GB Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (I have to buy a 32GB model since it's not expandable)
Thanks in advance for your recommendations, is the $200 difference really worth it?
They are both excellent tablets. It really comes down to what you intend to do with it. It looks like you'll mostly be using your tablet to consume content versus creating content. If that's the case, then the Galaxy might have a slight advantage due it's weight.
I went with the Transfomer because I wanted to see how far I could push a tablet as a productivity tool. Because of the dock, the Transformer is much better at content creation.
As far as the weight goes, the 4oz difference between a Galaxy and a Transformer just isn’t that big a difference... at least not to me.
Another factor in my decision was how aggressive Asus has been in updating the Transformer. They are doing a very good job at releasing updates in a timely fashion.
They are both great android tablets. I think the best way to answer the question is whether you would buy the base for the TF. If so and you like the idea of a keyboard and extra battery than get the TF. If you are going to use them as a straight tablet get the SGT, as it's better in the tablet form factor. I got both of them because I am a gadget lover and they are both excellent. I am typing this response on my TF with the keyboard dock right now because I prefer to type on a physical keyboard.

What does this have to do with accessories?
But other than that, both of them have their pros and cons.
ASUS Transformer:
+MicroSD
+Keyboard dock (additional battery life; keyboard; 2 USBs)
+Great Support (Fast Updates.. Don't even think Samsung has 3.2 yet!)
+Cheaper and you can get more for your money.
+Voodoo Sound
Samsung Galaxy Tab
+Lighter
-Expensive
.. and i can go on and on
No more SS for me. It takes them ages to come up with firmware updates.
If the tab had a microsd slot id be typing on one right now, but it doesn't so I'm not. I traded my ipad2 for the TF and dock. I don't use the dock but I will probably when I go out of town for work. Use the tablet through out the day for Internet and notes and dock it at night for emails and surfing.
It's cheaper and offers more options, even if you don't use all of them, I can sleep better at night knowing that I didn't pay more for less.
The Tab is sexy though but it's so thin that they say you can actually feel it bend in some cases. Plus they also have rings on the screen when you press.

As an owner of both, I prefer the Samsung because I realized I didn't use the KB/Dock as I thought I would & prefer as light as possible. Nevertheless, both are great devices & I wish the Samsung had a MicroSD slot but it doesn't. TBH, there isn't much of a big difference besides the $.

I really like the TF dock, surprised at how much different experience with the dock.
The MicroSD on GT 10.1 does not matter. You can use the USB host adapter with any flash stick or MicroSD adapter, $20 from Samsung website.
However, Samsung might stop selling GT 10.1 because of Apple lawsuit and patents.

Cracked My 10.1v (GT-P7100) Digitizer Screen

Hello All!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v (GT-P7100) model.
I see many digitaizers for 10.1 (GT-P7500), but their seems to be some difference between 7100 and 7500, but don't sure.
Does anybody know, may i replace digitizer on 10.1v with digitizer for 10.1?
I've heard some ppl complain that there's even a small difference between the digitizer for the P7500 and the P7510 in total screen size. I can't tell with 100% certainty that it won't fit, but personally, I wouldn't take that gamble. Not only could the total screen size differ, but the flat cables could be slightly different to.
Of course, feel free to gamble if you can't find any P7100 digitizers.
Same problem here, LCD still works, touchscreen not working. However can't find any P7100 digitizer screens. Someone tested a P7510 digitizer on a P7100?
Does anybody knows is it compatible part ?

[Q] size difference 4g and wifi only

I am looking for a case/cover for my new galaxy tab 10.1 4G.
Is there a size difference for 4g+ wifi version and just wifi only galaxy tab?
because some sellers titled their item "it does not compatible with the 4g verizon galaxy tab 10.1"
No its the button placement that's the issue. On the Verizon tablets buttons are on the upper left when in portrait mode not the top edge. Therefore some cases may cover them.
Take a look at the pyro skin 360. Its a good case that will fit, just make sure you get the v2 model.

[Q] Flex Vibrator, my Samsung i9200 Galaxy Mega Broke

Greetings dear forumers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega i9200, for days I had to disassemble the entire phone to make a replacement lcd screen, but when you go to remove all internal parts of the vibrator flex my phone was broken, try to peel it off with pliers but it was not easy because I was really stuck, and there the accident occurred.
The point is that where I live only flex vibrator Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 are earned, and let me know if I buy one of these I can work on my Samsung Galaxy Mega. I compared in photos and model vibrator flex for samsung galaxy S3 is very similar to using the Samsung Galaxy Mega.
Will universal parts or are designed for each model Samsung?

screen and digitizer interchangeable between galaxy tab and tab 2

I recently received a galaxy tab 10.1 with a damaged screen. While I was disassembling it I noticed it was very similar to the tab 2 which ive worked on before. I had a screen (with bad burn in ) and digitizer from a recent tab 2 repair so I wanted to see if they would work with the older tab so I sould test it before buying parts... sure enough it worked. I was wondering if they are in fact the same parts or would long term usage cause damge? I am wondering more about the digitizer at the momoment since the one I have functions fine but I am curious about the lcd also for future reference
It appears the lcd is the same/interchangeable the digitizer is not. The glass on the original tab is slightly larger (wider from left to right) so although it functions it's not an exact fit.
