[Q] Any word on an extended battery yet? - HTC EVO 3D

I've looked, but can't really find one. Do any of you all know when or if an extended battery will be available? I had one on my original Evo but now I'm just lost. =]]

I think the battery life is way better than the Evo 4g. It comes with a 1730mah battery so it's pretty good. I've been running it all day just about the same as my old 4g and the battery life feels about double what I would of got.

coming soon.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacyxxhev3d-bk.htm

I never go for the cheap ebay batts.

Might take more time since constructing a new back for this phone seems like alot more work with it wrapping around the sides and buttons being included

Oh great, another rip-off overrated seidio battery. Whats this one really going to be? 1680mAh? When are people going to learn you cannot cram more mAh into the same form factor. If it was possible, HTC would do it with the stock battery. The only way to get more mAh is with more size. No offense to tide88, I'm just really fed up with this company and their lies.

It's not double for me, but it's about 10% more. So right as it should be. I got about 24-26 hours with the Evo 4g, I'm getting about 28-30 with the 3d.

That one is not the same size as the original, it's larger and requires a special cover.
However, this one is supposed to be larger and sill fit in under the original door http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi19hev3d.htm
However, unless it's a different type of battery (like a Li-Po), it's not physically possible to get more Ah out of the same area.

different cells can give a little more power.
and yes, the super size - does require a different back, had it for my evo 4g, and i could listen to pandora radio all day at work, for 8 hrs, and still be 50% battery after.
i cant wait for it to come out, yes it will be big, but last all day.

[Q] How is everyone enjoying their Thunderbolt/LTE 4G?

Hey Guys,
4G is coming to my area in late July so naturally I'm thinking of upgrading from my Dinc.
For those of you that have 4G in your areas, how is it in terms of speed and stability as you travel around your home town? Do you guys dig the Thunderbolt? And how is tethering with the TB on 4G? Does it rock as much as I think it does?
I'm thinking of snatching one off ebay as my discounted upgrade isn't available until March 2012. I've been reading about rooting the TB. Looks like the process is a little different from the Dinc, as there's no unrevoked method. Aside from that, is the TB easy to customize after obtaining root?
Sorry for all the stupid questions. Just trying to reaffirm my near-decision to drop $300-$400 tomorrow.
I came from the Incredible also and was a bit iffy on it. I didn't like the battery life at first, but I loved everything else about the phone. With an extended battery, and the great developers that work on this phone, I really don't have anything bad to say about it. I'm getting a constant 40+ hours out of my phone, it does everything I need it to, its quick, snappy, and responsive. GB & Sense 3.0 are great. And 4G speeds are just awesome. To sit on your phone and surf the web, at speeds that I get with FiOS on my PC, it's just great.
Plus the fact I got the TB for $280 and sold my INC for $220 made me love it even more
The 4G is awesome. It's really fast, I get atleast 10 to 15mbps, but usually 20mbps, and about 5mbps upload. Beats the s___ out of all the other 4g networks I have tried.
The only thing with the T-Bolt for me is the battery life, plus the proximity sensor is really iffy, in that it can't properly detect whether the phone is near my ear, which causes the screen to stay on during a call.
I get between 10-20 down. Phone is really fast. Battery life wasn't great stock, but if you get a good ROM/Kernel combo it's vastly improved (check out das BAMF ROMs they're one of the best).
Yeah, I can pretty much concur with everything that's been said. On 3g, battery life is about the same as the inc for me, but lte lowers that considerably. I generally cannot get an entire day on one charge. If you can live with that and have steady access to 4g, it makes the phone load pages like it's on wifi (I get around 12 mbps, which is the same speed as my home internet). If you're thinking of it as an incremental upgrade from the inc, you're on the right track. It won't be a revelation, but it is better. I think the issue is that the inc was just very, very good.

at least its not a samsung.... You dont know how many trips to italy i took in my omnia, all while sitting in my bed lol
I am VERY disappointed in LTE, but im in love with the device. Im in the tampa area and i cannot get over 5 down 4 up at any time of day. I was expecting atleast 10 down.
But the voice + data in 3G (tested ) is pretty sick and I love the device. The battery life sucks (i use a extended now) and the GPS has a funky issue where it puts me 40 miles away for a second or two in Maps and weather, but its nothing to be mad about.
I upgraded from my D1 and I am a Flash Addict. Even when a rom is running like butter..... im flashing something else lol

I hear you. My Samsung Captivate GPS never worked properly.
Do you always get less than 10mbps? My speeds vary every day. Yesterday I couldn't do better than 8, today I'm averaging 15.

Thanks to all for the great info. I got a good one on ebay last night for $385.00. Comes with a 32GB SD card (*drool*). Just ordered a black silicone case for it. Thinking of what type of screen protector to get. I've used an Invisible Shield for my Dinc for a year. Wondering if anyone has any better recommendations on those. I don't really like how the Inv.Shield peels off at the corners over time. Although I see that the newer cases cover the corners.
Anyhow, whats the best screen cover in your all's opinions?

Your going to want to get the extended battery! I could not stand the battery life of the phone before purchasing one. If you need a case and desktop charger for the extended battery head to letstalk.com or seidio.com.
Yea, I'm definitely gonna go the route of an extended battery. I've read way much negative feedback to ignore it.
For any of you guys who've ever used those 3500mah batteries, does using the custom doors for those give the camera tunnel vision? Seems like it would with the opening being raised nearly an inch from the frame.
3500 mah is way overkill imo. It makes the phone oddly proportioned. I'm running the HTC extended and ill get a cool 24 hours on it with moderate usage at work, 3g only, and WiFi at home with a lot of playing on the phone.
Yea, I agree. I bought the 18oomah for my Dinc so it'd fit the original door and case I purchased.
It's be great to know I have plenty of battery power with the 3500, but I don't want my pocket to feel like I'm carrying a rock.

I can usually squeeze 2 days on my standard HTC 2750ma battery and I use the apps and internet moderately and use Wifi while I'm at home.
I just bought my TB, also coming from a DINC. I got mine for $395 shipped on ebay with everything except the SIM.
I immediately bought the Seidio 3200mAh battery and the Seidio Convert Extended Case. I'm getting 2 days on a charge with heavy use.
All in all, I'm very pleased. First thing I did was root, de-bloat, and turn off the LTE radio (don't have it here yet). Definitely glad I bought it!

I've seen them up to an 1800mah, but people complain that they drain just as fast as the stock battery. Not sure about that, but in my situation, I have a charger just about every where I go (work, car, bedroom, couch in living room). Still debating whether or not I really need to go that route. Getting a 3500mah would be great in terms of power, but since the battery door doesn't cover the entire back like the Dinc it will make the phone lopsided and awkward as someone mentioned earlier. I don't like the sound of that, lol.

It says it is 2.5 times more powerful than the original.
Though could be very indispensable for summer travellings and countryside picknicks far from civilization, but still to enjoy connected and secure feeling
Well, the 1900 mah one works great so far. It's quite possible that it will work as advertised.
Dang I'd buy it if it were in stock

The OEM Extended battery is big enough and I believe that was 2700mAh? I couldn't imagine how monstrous this thing must be, even if they do find a way to slim it down.
I suppose they could pull it off if they punched more holes in the layers and stuffed in some silicone. They'd be able to make it nearly the same size as the original OEM battery. I just don't think battery companies are doing that yet.
That's one enormous and expensive battery there. Having the oem extended battery, I don't know if I could take a much bigger battery, but it would depends on exactly how much bigger we're talking. The oem one gets me through 98% of days with absolutely no problem. The price would have to be a major consideration as well at almost 100 dollars.

That'd definitely be useful for people like me who love to run their phone at full speed and full brightness, but aren't near a power source most of the time. I only use my extended when I know I'm going to be out for awhile since it's such a beast, I can't imagine how huge this thing is going to be!
I just put in an order for mine should be here by end of april
Are they trying to bring the bagphone back? That's gotta be ginormous.
Thanks! gonna order a 1900 as soon as they are available
I ordered a Mugen Power 1900 mAh battery from a reputable vendor on ebay. It shipped and should be here by Thursday. It was even a few bucks cheaper than what the Mugen Power website was selling. They have over 10 of them in stock, according to the listing.
I also ordered the Mugen Power 4000 mAh battery from their website. It won't ship for a few weeks since the battery is on backorder.
I hope to do some comparative tests, like I did for my old Droid Razr, as well as a video review. But that will be next month, likely.

here's to hoping it's just creatively shaped... I feel like there's a lot of unused space behind the extended battery cover that a manufacturer could take advantage of (albeit a bit costly...)

Former AT&T One X owners compare it with EVO 4g lte

Hi,
If any of you guys have owned the HTC One X by AT&T and now have the EVO 4G LTE, can you compare the battery life differences? Screen differences? General impressions are appreciated.
Thanks!
Had the one x for a week. At&t had the worst coverage I've ever experienced ..but when I was in a 4g area, it was fast.
Just got the EVO so I can't compare yet.
One x likes. The screen wrapped around the sides a touch, it felt really sleek and smooth. I liked the slight curve but wasn't crazy about the white color.
EVO likes. Kickstand! I like the metal finish around the side. The screen is still amazing. Being on Sprint just feels better.
Overall I think I like the look and feel of the one x just a little better, but I feel more comfortable with the EVO..prolly because it feels so much like the previous evos

How is the battery life between the two phones?
Are they comparable? I'm really bummed b/c most of the 'pro' reviews indicate that the battery life on the EVO 4G LTE is poor despite the bigger battery. I have no idea why this is the case.
Like many, many people, I want to leave the iphone. However, let's be honest...people stay with the iphone because the absolute corest of the core features on the iphone are still the best on the market.
--screen, is absolutely brilliant, even 2 years later
--touch input, is still the best, no idea why this is, but it is
--battery life
--stability
I wish that the makers would just get the core features right (I realize that it's not that easy). I always have to worry about battery life when I am considering a new android phone. Sorry, I just got mad when I read that the EVO 4g lte packs a huge battery but doesn't seem to benefit from it. Tired of being disappointed yet again because it's the same old story--great hardware specs, disappointing real life performance due to a lack of attention to details.

These phones are for a different user type than the iPhone. These phones have freedom and customization. That does not mean they are not stable. I don't believe screen brilliance, resolution, or touch inputs are arguments anymore. This phone has it all and then some.
I regularly get 12-16 hours of battery life everyday! With fairly heavy usage. This phone really has it all. Definitely a jump up from the OG Evo!

Didn't buy any.
I Cases definitely wouldn't be able to tho. The phones are shaped different not to mention the kickstand.
I get excellent battery life with the EVO 4G LTE. I charged my phone overnight and it lasted 14 hours yesterday with about an hour or two of actual usage on the phone (browsing internet, Google Talk, Google +, Gmail). The battery level at the end of the day was still around 75%, so I could have not charged it if I wanted to and still would have a charge today most likely.
On my Evo LTE I got 16 hours with 23% left, moderate/heavy usage (photos, video of town's Memorial Day Parade, family pics, sending said stuff to server via WiFi, some web surfing, used TeleNav for about 45min, and a bunch of phonecalls). On the OG Evo to pull that off I had to be using the Seidio 3600 battery, and I was lucky to get 12 hours on a charge.

This isn't really a case of "opinion" so much as "estimation." At this point, nobody can say for sure how long the battery life will be on the Inc 4G.
But, we do know that it should certainly be really good. It probably wont be quite as good as the Razr Maxxx, but I honestly think it will come close. The fact that the battery is removable is much much much much much more important for me than a couple extra hours of battery life.
Most days, I'm near a charger for long enough (be it at my desk, in my car, at home, etc.) where battery life is not a concern at all. But when that's not the case, and I need a good battery life (say I'm going to an amusement park for the day, for example), I generally need more than a couple extra hours. In these cases, the Maxxx will last longer but still die prematurely. A removable battery is key in these scenarios.

Same thoughts, just wondering if any contrary opinions. Oh, also screen size on Maxx is bigger=more batt usage.
With a slightly bigger battery and bigger screen and resolution and higher clock speed, the One X beats Maxx in some aspects and is close to it in others... So, with 100 mAH less than the One X but smaller screen and resolution AND lower clock speed, I expect Dinc4GLTE's battery life to be as good as One X and may be better in some scenarios. So, i.e. it may beat Razr Maxx by a bigger margin than One X in some scenarios and close the gap even more or overtake in others...

I'm hoping for the same thing, I loved the slim extended capacity battery for my DInc and I'm hoping Seidio can get the same thing going for this.

Mulkin 4000 battery

I bought one of these recently, the price on it is ridiculous but if you want a battery that will never die this is it.
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...or-verizon-htc-rezound-with-battery-door.html
It comes with a new back with a kickstand on it which is nice & it still fits in my HTCpedia extended battery case.
I am really hard on battery life as I stream audio all day at work (Iheart radio & Sirius online) & that really burns up battery life.. The VZ extended battery makes it a little over 8 hours usually doing that. The Mugen beast still has over 1/2 the battery life left at that point.
I recently went on a two day business trip & was still on the original charge of the thing when I flew home. I took a spare bateery with me, but never used it.

Yea, it's not really much different at all.
I have three VZ extended batteries & when the phone is in my pocket (wearing either jeans or cargo shorts) I really can't tell which is which.
This thing is amazing, it lasts as long as my Son's Razr MAXX.
Speaker holes are small and it muffles the sound. Probably could cut a couple more slits in it. . But I wouldnt pay a hundred bux for a friggin battery
I agree the price is ridiculous (as I stated in my original post) but the back has not affected the sound on mine at all. It's not like the original speaker is all that powerful anyway.
I was pissed originally at the price for sure, but it's turning out to be one of the best investments I have made for this phone.
I literally never have to even glance at my battery gauge anymore, I couldn't kill this battery if I tried (streaming video/audio, screen on time etc etc nothing seems to matter) I have completely stopped carrying a spare batt, something I have done religiously since last October.
It's not for everybody, that's for sure but if you never want to worry about your battery life again this is just the thing.
They're charging an extra $50 for the kick stand. Watching that video reminded of how awfully slow this phone was @ stock.
I love my mugen compared to the oem extended. I have never had a dead phone on the mugen, but i did on the oem extended.
Yesm itvis way to pricey, but the 30% works for me.
