The Epic is awful. Samsung's UI is really bad and is known for no updates, GPS problems, and bad hardware. I'll take a regular EVO anyday, but the EVO 3D blows it out of the water. Can't believe your comparing these.
I have an Epic and I am saving up money for the 3D. Can't wait to unload this turd onto someone from CraigsList. Haha

The EVO 3D will be Sprints top of the line phone when it comes out hands down and nothing to do with the 3d portion. Remove the 3d and it still leads the pack.
The only reason to get something else would be that you must have a keyboard.
Go for the 3D. You'll have a much more stable phone, and much better dev support here at XDA.
+1 to what everyone else is saying...if you like the samsung id go for the nexus s 4g. No sliding kb (no wobble) and much more timely updates!

The Evo officially had Froyo over six months earlier than the Epic and got a GB leak a couple of weeks after the Epic got Froyo.

No sorry you cant Its software and hardware that help utilize the 3d. If you like the Evo 3d more than the Photon then I suggest you trade it for the Evo 3d . If not then no harm done.

If 3d were as easy as having software then all phones, hell even all TVs would be 3d. No, you need a 3d screen. Look up any 3d device in wikipedia and you will see how out works.

I wouldn't recommend an Android phone unless they already like Android and are ok with rooting because if they like Android and are ok with rooting, they won't need me to help them with their phone.
Personally I've always avoided the IPhone because I can't stand Itunes and don't want to be stuck with that limiting my media accessibility. Once again, my opinion. Must say that I am jealous of all of the accessory options that the Iphone users have.

That's not hard to do, when I worked as a copier tech I used my cell all the time to call in and let my manager know what's going on with the more important contracts and just making a call seemed to impress them. One time I was just texting a part number to Brian, the guy who's in charge of inventory. This guy rushes over all impressed. He tells me, oh thats so cool. Let me guess, you guys can scan the part and order from an online catalog right? Android is so cool. I was about to tell him no I'm just texting the part but I thought nah. Instead I told him we have full control over parts and inventory and that we even know when networked printers go down. He was floored lmao

I hated that phone. What a pos. Not the iPhone either.
What I thought was funny was how similar they look. The instinct was released in 2008, the iphones redesign was in 2010 yet they are suing samsung because apple claims some of their galaxy lineup looks like the iPhone 4.

No its a half inch bigger. Note is 5 inch screen note 2 is 5.5 inches.

I like the fact that this EVO is one of a kind. Exclusively for Sprint carriers only.
At least I like to think that...Plus its a unique gadget that stands out from the crowd. Especially with all my friends & family rocking iPhones. They look at my phone and they ask me, that look sick what is it? That's when I have the pleasure to say, "its exclusively for Sprint users only" lol.. they rock At&t, most of them!
So yea, this phone is one of its kind. Not just because its Exclusive. But because there isn't one that can copy its style. I will stick to this for a while. It has everything I need. Performance, screen size is perfect, camera and the look is flawless.
That's why I did not choose the GS3. It's screen size is to big for a average grown man hands. Plus I'll be part of the crowd just like everyone with their iPhones.
I like to stand out, and clearly I can when I hold my EVO 4G LTE.
