I purchased one of the Chinese ones as well and it took 3 weeks to get to me.
It's cardboard with a Pleather wrap which was fine but the tablet squeezes in so tightly that the top of the leather bows downward.Not a good fit or look at all.
There is a velcro band/strap on the left side that holds in the tablet.The foldover stand is ok but overall this to me is a POS.
I ordered one from another ebay vendor for 39.95 which is supposed to be a custom fit.We'll see.

After looking at several cases between here and ebay, I decided to go with this clip case and seeing how they had some in stock, I just ordered up a black one! Ill probably get it next week. It will go nicely with my Skinomi screen protector and 32gb microsd.

Anyone know where I can find a nice, lined, sleeve I can put my phone in? I carry my phone in my purse most of the time, and would like something to slide it into to prevent keys and whatnot from scratching the case. I am not particularly fond of the bulky (and often ugly) snap-on covers. I just want something simple! I love the little sleeve that comes with the Palm Pre.. something like that would be perfect.
I tried some of the blackberry sleeves in an electronics store. They seemed to be ok, but I needed a vertical clip-on. Hope this helps.

Got to T-Mobile coorporate store and get one. The last one I bought was on sale for $3.99. It was a microsuede inner with a nylon outer in black. I love it and it fits great. Its just a universal accesory.
I just picked up one of these for my phone. Very slim, probably won't protect it from a drop, but if you are looking for some slim, basic protection -- these do the trick and are pretty cheap as well since I like to carry my phone in my pocket.

Yep. I ordered a black. The original pre-order was until the 19th (today). Looks like they got the date right. It's now showing in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours. When I get it I'll be sure to take some high quality pics with the ole SLR and get up a review for everyone.

I bought the official case from TMO. It's a little pricey but provides excellent protection. As a matter of fact, the faucet in my bathroom leaks and I left my tablet on the counter one night. I woke the next morning and my tablet was sitting in a puddle of water that extended halfway up the case. Took the case off, wiped everything down, and plugged it back in. Worked fine. Even the liquid indicator was still white.

Ditto on the TMO case.. seems $20 too high, but honestly a pretty good hunk of hardware for your tablet. I will have one spare once I have my tablet mounted into my car dash..

Another vote for the TMo case and you are right about the price but you can buy it off Ebay for about $20 less unless you are like me and want it right now.

The brand is Incipio and I purchased mine from a TMo store for like $50. I had seen the same one on Ebay for half the price but I didn't want to wait. I checked Ebay and the case is no longer listed. I also looked on the Incipio web site and they don't even list it. I don't have a picture but the case is black and the tablet kind of snaps down into the bottom part of the case. You can open the case(it is held closed with an elastic strap) and you have three positions that the tablet can be set into. They range from a fairly good tilt to darn near upright. I have found the case to be quite nice and it really doesn't add much to the overall size. Hope this helps.

On the second picture, you can see bubbles in the microfiber. That's the glue separating because I got it wet.
I bought on ebay a smart cover like this from the auction 170821966479. It's thin, good protection and a good stand. I am very happy with it.
The TMO case is so popular in the US, but outside there are two options: universal 7 inch case or a not so bad case designed for the media pad. Search for t-mobile springboard case on ebay.
I bought a cheap-o case off eBay for $16. Listing was questionable as the sellers account was terminated the day after I bought it. I still got the case this morning after 3 weeks though. 2 problems with it. It's a little too thing for the springboard, so the outside edge around the display doesn't quit fold over all the way and sticks up. Secondly, the hole for the front facing camera is slightly off and the camera just barely peeks out from it.
Might not stick with the case though. Without the case I've always been able to stick it in my back pocket (slacks or jeans) and walk around with it to a few places, lunch breaks, dog walks, etc. With the case its a no go.

My experience with the case from PDair: The case is simply excellent. I highly recommend it. It is worth the money:
PROS:
- durable black leather
- magnets! It closes with magnets
- the tablet fits nicely into the case (in contrast to the cheap case from eBay - see post from lilaliend)
- all holes (front and rear cameras, USB and HDMI ports, charger) are precisely where they should be
CONS:
- the case is rather thick. They use multiple layers of leather (you can see it on the pictures on the PDair website). So the tablet is really well protected. But with the case you can not put the tablet into your back pocket...
TMobile Incipio case for Springboard has dropped in price
If you were to shop for it now on the TMobile site the Incipio case is now $29. That's about $15 to maybe $20 cheaper than when I bought it earlier in the year. ARGH!
I do love my case though. The only thing that's bad is when you are in portrait mode and the front cover doesn't sit nicely back when holding it in that position.

I wanted a case that had a zippered closure, for added protection. I had this case from when I had purchased the Kindle Fire. But I decided to see if it would fit the Springpad. It does, with a bit of sanding or cutting.
This is an option if you are willing to sand down or cut two nibs from the top two clips. Each clip has two nibs, the one you want to sand down or cut is the one on the right for each clip. I have attached some pictures so you can see the zippered case and the two clips above, and a close up of the cut. Mine is a bit sloppy, but hey, I'm not complaining. See pictures.

I wanted a case that protects the corners, could prop up the MediaPad in landscape and (!) did not cover the front (like some cases that cover the bezel around the display).
Turns out that this case for the Lenovo Ideapad A1 fits just fine. Only the hole for the camera is in the wrong place, but I don't use the Pad's camera anyway. Nice sleek design. Reeks of plastic/glue the first few days, but the smell wears off quickly and then you have a smart-looking case for your MediaPad.
Apparently this case comes with different names around the globe. Have a look at the pictures and see what's available in your country.

All the ports have openings. Power & Volume buttons are covered.

Picked one up myself.
Mine had a tracking number - it was spot on. Though it spent 2 days in SF. Unlike some items ordered from China there was no hanky panky here. This one did not say "sample" or "gift" on the label.
After a day I took it off and washed it with dish detergent, the feel to the case is now better than just out of the box.

I'm currently undergoing the issue of having the back peel off my nexus 6 and I've only had it for a week so I don't have another $600.00 for them to place a hold on my account for a replacement. These are simply skins that stick over the back, not replacement back panels. If you need a new back panel, they're on ebay with adhesive skin to apply them similar to stock. Goodluck.

Just to add to this, yes they are an adhesive skin, but they are real wood, and not a thin flimsy decal. If you read the original @slickwraps thread, people have removed the plastic nexus backing, and put the Naturals bamboo skin as a replacement, and it was a perfect fit, but it wasnt meant to be a replacement and not marketed as such. (The Naturals line, both leather and wood, are much thicker than flimsy plastic decals since they are real leather and wood)
I myself own a few of the Slickwraps Naturals products, and I have to say I am impressed with the quality.
I have the dark brown leather as my back and I removed the stock back. It fits 100% perfect and I love it! I also bought a spare OEM back in case I need it. The bamboo might need some sanding to fit flush I haven't tried it with mine yet but if and when I do I'll post some pictures.

OK no problem and yes I bought the spare OEM back on eBay from a seller in NJ. The leather is on my phone so I'll take some pictures for you. I just applied some conditioner so it's wet but I have a older picture of when I first installed it that I'll post right now below for you. I'll add new pictures once the constraints l conditioner is done drying. I"aged" the leather because it looks better with some wear on it.

i also bought an extra back from ebay. received it yesterday but the curved part of the letter "u" was not in place. it had come off. i put it back in place no problem but it leads me to think they will come off easy. another thing i noticed is that the ebay one, the "nexus" letters are chrome and the ones that actually come on the phone are silver.
good thing i got the ebay one to play with it. i'm going to end up painting it or something. haven't decided what yet.

The one I bought is fine and identical to my OEM one that I took off my phone. I can post a side by side if you would like. It could be a different supplier for the back or something because most people have had good experiences with the ones from eBay. I'm not saying there aren't bad ones out there but I received a good one.

Pretty much the same one is $3.78 with free shipping on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271867174414 That's the one I'm using and it works ok...they now also have hard plastic ones on ebay for $2.59 [ http://www.ebay.com/itm/31136984068...49&var=610459552705&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT ] but they are non transparent colors. I went with a matte black.

I'll have to answer this after I get back from vacation as that case and another are sitting at home..delivered while I was gone. I'm currently using the clear tpu case.
They're exactly like the Incipio Feather cases. Actually not bad for $3 shipped. A little bit of a sharp edge on the bottom of mine, but the cutouts are perfect. Fit is snug.

official transparent case now available - but I didn't like it
The official transparent case became available directly from Alcatel's own web store about a week or 10 days ago.
I ordered one, got it in, but I didn't like it.
It fits well. Seems well made. But two problems.
One - it's really shiny, slick, makes the phone really easy to slip out of my hand.
Two - the parts of the case that wrap around the sides are absolutely flush with the front, they don't stick out at all past the front, which is nice unless you put the phone face down: they don't provide for any clearance between the glass and the surface where you've set it down.
I'm going to send this case back.
