[APP(?)] HTC Home - EVO Shift 4G Themes and Apps

I don't think I've seen a post about this anywhere in all the time I've been on these forums, so at the risk of being redundant, here goes:
Now, this is only for those that actually like Sense. If you do, here's a very cool set of Windows widgets that put the HTC clock and/or and weather on your desktop!
http://www.htchome.org/en/features/
Check the extras for some other cool things, like weather animations, changing the weather provider, etc.

Yo, does it come with deskclock? =P

Here's a picture of part of my desktop, showing the clock widget and the weather widget. Over on the left, you can see that there's a picture widget also. I haven't tried that.
Note that the widgets have different views, so you can tweak it a bit.
(... and yes; the clock does 'flip'.)

Too bad they dont' have one for linux... Tho you would think that if they can write code for a linux-based phone, they could do the same for a linux-based desktop...

Nice, just downloaded.

Simple but damn important and useful, True silence. Basically with one click it makes your android completely silent, instead of android's crappy 'silent' mode which leaves the media volume on, and if you go to adjust that manually it will play to you the current level of media, which will be loud and might turn heads towards you..
Also I use rimshot widget for fun, and pure grid calendar, but it costs so.

A client with this phone came to me for a problem she had. The thing is that she had the same home screen effect as sense for htc phones and i am shure that she does not have a rooted or modified phone. I tought at first that it was the weather network widget since she had this on her screen but after downloading i see that this is not what made the effect. When you want to select a shortcut or widget on the home screen with this effect you have to tap twice to disengage the effect. Does anyone know of what widget or app im talking about because i really want this one!!!

Pretty Sweet Visual Mods!!

Hey guys, I've done some modding on my prime to bump up the UI visuals a little
I think it really suits the clean look!
You can see it in action here in the first half of this video!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBTqYvJVHCA
How is this the clean look? Lol you got icons all over the place top n bottom of screen filled up. Looks cool but too much like a win mo clone. I'm not a fan of big lettering detailing what screen you on or whatever. This just looks like different launcher or something as I've seen others in the "Post your homescreens" thread in themes n app section just like yours. Why so many icons in top and bottom bar at once?
I like it.

Lol yea, I guess you have to ignore those icons at the very top, they're from adw launcher and I can't seem to shake them well MAYBE clean isn't the right word, but everyone that I show it to LOVES it!
PS the shots with more than one picture are transition screens (kind of like switching cards)

Overall it looks good. A different look for sure. So you put this together yourself taking pieces out of adw launcher? Or is this just the launcher itself with one of the many different themes it has?

How does mulitilive behave on your prime? I looked at it in marketplace and its getting slammed because it doesn't support ICS yet. Alot of users with ICS experiencing issues with it. Ill try it out once it updates to truly support ICS. Does it drain the battery from constantly switching backgrounds or can you make them static and just have one pic for each homeacreen?

I just watched it after seeing this post. Gave it a thumbs up. Dang, that does look really cool theway you set it up. Moves very fast also. I have adw ex launcher also. Got it a while back on the 10 cent app sale. Haven't really used it on my prime yet. I might try setting something up with it now after seeing that video.
Are scrollable widgets already working with adw.ex on ICS? Ditched it because of lack of scrollable widgets (but see it hasn't been updated since december 7th so guess not).

That's a good point it's hit and miss. Colorize widgets DO scroll but Gmail does not. So i have no idea why that is. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Cheers for the response. Mail, agenda, bookmarks and those kinds of things weren't working for me and appearantly I am a fan of scrollable widgets hehe. Guess I'll stay away from it for now.
Must say I'm pretty satisfied with the stock launcher atm as well though!
This is a seriously biased video. Just look at the pinch-zoom part of the video (around 2 minute mark) and you'll see that Android lags in full screen animations. Sure the framerate does not drop, but responsiveness to user input is lagging as opposed to iPad 2.
I love my Android devices, but that video is just badly biased.

I guess I have to try it on my TP now!
Ok so initially just looking at the screen grabs my initial reaction was meh. After watching the video I actually quite like it. I don't know if its my cup of tea just to have an entire pane exclusively for facebook feeds or the weather, but the interface works and it looks really good. Get rid of the icons at the top and it would be beautiful. Overall, good job, thumbs up.
Nice and clean! I like it. I could not multilive wallpaper in the market. I could see multipicture live wallpaper. Is that the same?

Looking for an app, please help

I want a widget that is similar to beweather. I want a clock/weather combined widget, but I really want an analog clock. I found this: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/analog+clock+weather+widget, but the app no longer exitsts. It's almost exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone know of an app that would be like this or what I'm describing? Thanks

Correct. I have purchased Beautiful Widgets, Be Weather, and HD Widgets in the past, but none seem to have an analog clock. THere's specific apps that are just analog clocks that are great clocks, but they don't implement date/weather data as well. I'd rather not have a page of separate widgets if I can avoid it.
FWIW, you can beautiful widgets for free on getjar. That way you can try it out without buying for it from the market. If you haven't used getjar, it's not warez. Don't know how they offer free apps but it's legit, as far as I know.

They all say "flip", "HT3" or "sense" but do they actually flip? The beautiful widget ones don't and alot of the other ones I found don't. I gave up looking after being duped a couple dozen times.
Pretty sure that HTC has copyrighted the flipping animation, so other clocks aren't allowed to used it. Legally, at least.
Here you go, sense 4.0 clock widget but without flipping, really nice and resizeable, kinda like fancy widget, got it here in xda somewhere.
To whoever installs this make sure you start with an empty screen or you'll get the no more room message, even though the clock doesn't take up the whole screen, the widget does. Once you apply it just resize the empty areas of the widget, it installed full screen for me but I resized it 5 by 3.

That one doesn't work in TW as it's designed for landscape and keeps saying out of room even on an empty screen. Works fine in Go Launcher but there are better ones out there for sure. Thanks all the same.
Found one in in Google play and the clock flips and you can change the colour, how it flips and whatnot. Downside is $1.97. Here:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sgolovanov.GSFlipClockWallpaper&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInNnb2xvdmFub3YuR1NGbGlwQ2xvY2tXYWxscGFwZXIiXQ..

[Q] Beautiful widgets

I love the super clock in have but I wonder if either beautiful widgets has a clock with the numbers that flip (like old clocks)
If not anyone knows where I can get a clock like that? I show a pic of my home screen hopefully I can get something similar but with the flipping animation, thanks
Sent from my SGH-I717M using xda app-developers app
If you mean just the retro digital clock where the numbers flip (but animation is minimal, it's more the way it looks), then beautiful widgets has them. They came out primarily with HTC models when Gingerbread had just been released.
If you open the skins tab in BW superclock settings and select tab (don't know which one, but it accesses the skin/share exchange or whatever). You can tell it's the right page because each skin will state how many times it's been downloaded.
For the skin you are looking for, you may have to scroll down for a bit (and let the app load more choices) since this skin debuted maybe 18 months ago or more. But I know the basic black and a bunch of others like it are there. Look for the keyword "gingerbread" or just "ginger"...that might help.
Sent from my HTC One-S (rooted), stock ROM
are u talking about this type of clock, see attach?
i have beautiful widgets and i downloaded this skin to show you if this is what your looking for.
No...That's not it. Close though.. it looks like the HTC standard clock.
Here is a version of it. (I don't think any of these are the actual stock HTC clock since that was part of HTC's own desk clock/alarm, and not Beautiful Widgets.
You can tell it's the retro one because of the recessed middle which, if this was an analog clock, was attached to the "hinge" allowing the top portion to fall down revealing the next number.
This clock was actually under "featured skins" and I didn't have to scroll at all as it was on the first page.

ah i get u.
they have those kind of clocks in beautiful widgets. u would be able to download the skin called "sense v4.1" and a bunch of other versions of the clock with the 'recessed' line.
Thanks bro, I really love the look of them but I'm looking for the full animation, I would really like if it would actually flip every time it changes. Suggestions?
Sent from my SGH-I717M using xda app-developers app
If I recall the discussions correctly from my old HTC phone, beautiful widgets used to have the animations like the Sense widget, however they were ordered to remove them as it infringed on copyrights HTC had on the animation. Or something like that. So, you wont get the animations exactly like the sense widget unless you have an HTC Sense phone. I believe the Miui Roms have the flip animations on one of their clocks, maybe they have a skin to make it look like the Sense widget.
I think the animation is pretty close. It's not like BW designers were copying something original like a new design. It's a 35 year old clock.. I will have to look up that dispute. Or at least I will launch my HTC clock and see if it is any different BW.
