Opera Mobile 6.1 has user agent setting now - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

I've resorted to using Opera Mobile as my default browser due to the keyboard lag with the stock browser. Opera is so fast and smooth, but it lacked a user agent setting, so some sites would default to mobile versions.
Thank god, user agent setting has been added. You can toggle between tablet (mobile) or desktop. Yea!

Actually, its been there for quite some time. You just had to type in opera:config in the URL bar. From there, you could access hundreds of settings not available in the standard settings menu.

its been there man

Any Roms that have desktop useragent in it?

I hate mobile sites. I know a few browser apps do it but really want GB browser. (what is with Samsung screwing this browser up? They have the best screen in the industry (ok other than Iphone)...so why kill the real deal?: desktop site views???
No need for a new rom (although the CM7 browser has a huge selection of User Agents to choose from). Dolphin browser is free on the Market and has a desktop UA mode.

I Know that... as I said I'd really rather use GB browser... FStest one... I've tested them all many times. (I use boat browser mini now...2nd best in my 25 site download test).
But.. Do want GB.
I will look into C7 when more kinks are worked out.
type in url "about:useragent" to change user agent on stock browser. I like Opera Mobile the best though. It can download anything from filesharing sites.

Big Ten Network

It works for Iphone / Ipad. They claim an android version will available soon. Until then is there a work around for accessing the video feeds on BTN2GO.com
try using dolphin browser then go to setting and choose desktop/not android as the client thing (forgot what it is called)
I tried Dolphin & Dolphin Mini which has an iphone & ipad user agent.
No Luck

You need to use Desktop user agent as was suggested. Using iphone/ipad will still just get you the mobile site (iphone/ipad has an btn2go app, and one is being worked on for android). Since android does flash, you should be able to stream it once you get btn2go.com to think you're on a 'desktop' computer.

[Q] Avoid mobile version of certain sites?

I've a Galaxy SII,wife has an android 2.3 tablet. On some sites,it brings me straight to the mobile version of the site which I dont want. Some do give me the option of going to full site but certain sites dont.Is there a way I can block the 2 devices from automatically going to mobile version of sites and just go straight to normal version instead? Thanks in advance
Not really. It's not the devices that decide whether to go on mobile version of a web site. It's the web site that decides, based upon your web browser user-agent.
The only hack to force a website to serve you its full version would be to use a web browser that allows user-agent spoofing and change it to a desktop web browser user-agent. But then, depending on which user agent you use, you could have bugs because the website would think it's another device talking to him .
Thanks,so looks like it cant be done?
Why not giving a try to opera mobile? Im not sure if it is available for tablets but it's worth a shot, user agent can be changed from mobile to desktop trough the settings > advanced > user agent option
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Opera Mobile is a great browser with a lot of features, including the ability to switch the user-agent from "mobile" or "tablet" to "desktop".
This should serve you the full page.
But i think there is only a Setting for the whole browser, not for each site.
So you have to change the Setting (only 3 clicks) everytime
I think "Doplhin Browser" also supports changing the user agent, but i don't use Dolphin myself..

how to stop displaying "mobile" versions of websites? TMo:SGS2

So i've tried searching this answer and I'm not finding awhole lot. This is becoming quickly annoying.
No matter what web program I download (for instance - Skyfire), websites on the SGS2 typically show up in the mobile version of a website.
I've looked here:
http://www.mobilephonetipsandtricks.com/2011/08/how-to-view-pages-in-desktop-mode-with.html
but there is no "View Mode" on the Tmo sgs2. In Skyfire I select desktop mode but that doesn't stop pages from loading mobile versions of themselves. I've even tried "about:debug" but that does nothing.
Heck I've even tried a factory reset.
Anyone have a for sure answer?
Use a browser that allows you to change the user agent to desktop rather than mobile, such as opera mobile.
I've never had that problem using Firefox. Sites which have a mobile site and a "normal" site tend to default to the normal site and I can only get mobile sites up if I preface a domain known to have a mobile site with the usual "m."
i use dolphon browser HD and set my user agent to desktop.
Works without problems.
Do you have the T-Mobile USA version? If so I would check its foum, as there may be a modded stock browser like for the i9100.
Dolphin HD, opera mobile and Firefox mobile all have options to display the normal website as default via user agent.

try opera mobile or mini, or u can install ics and then the stock browser has a "request desktop site"

its an option in your browser settings
I've got Dolphin HD and works perfect. Go to: more/settings/dolphin settings/user agent and choose Desktop. Restart browser and You ready to go. enjoy

Force user agent definitively

Hello everybody,
I'm a huge fan of the S7+ and use it every day.
I use Firefox as a browser.
I'm trying to find a way to force desktop mode on web browsing without having to do it manually in the menu for each website.
Can't find a way ...
Thanks for your help.
+1 on that! It's really frustrating - all major web browsers don't offer desktop mode by default. You have to choose this per tab option every time you start the browser. I ended up using Samsung Internet as it was the only browser loading default desktop site versions.
Edit: Opera has this option in settings
There isn't an add on but I believe you can do custom useragent settings using about:config, general.useragent.override if you are running Firefox Beta/Nightly. I have been running this since Tab S4 but have to update the string regularly so it doesn't go out of date on browser version. I am not sure about:config is supported on stable Firefox though.
general.useragent.override not working
i try nightly version,
Any solution? Is there some modded version of firefox?
