Sprint TV apk from Evo 3D - HTC EVO 3D

Does anyone have the Sprint TV apk from the 3VO? It's SO much better than the one on the Evo 4G.
I know, most of you will say with Netflix, Hulu hacks, torrent downloaders, etc, why the hell would you want Sprint TV, but I love sprint TV. ESPN mobile has a lot of live sporting events, like Wimbledon, and World Cup Soccer. Plus you can get a lot of the shows from major networks.
Anyway, I realize it probably won't function on the Evo 4G, but I wanted to take a crack at it anyway.
Thanks to anyone that can post it. PM me if you throw it up here.

not sure if this'll work tho might be needing other parts

This was a good start. It installed just fine, but when I try to start the app, it says an update is available.
I pulled Sprint_InstallerNC_v2_1_0.apk from the system dump for the 3vo, and installed that. That would let me download the update, but I get an error when it tries to install the update.
Any chance you have updated Sprint TV on your 3vo already, and if so, what would be the possibility of pulling the updated APK off? Thanks again!

So where do we go to complain that sprint tv (among other apps) wont allow rotating so the charger is on the TOP of the phone instead of the bottom??

ESPN Watch app

Is anyone using the Watch ESPN app having problems with the video coming in? it almost looks like a digital TV with bad reception. hard to explain. let me know. Thanks
i dunno, how bout you hook me up with your service provider, name and password? jp
****ty that comcast doesn't work for me... i even tried hitting direct TV and U-Verse and neither work... what the heck does!? lol
I'm having the same issue on my Evo 3D, I haven't used the in the past few days on the old Evo, but yes on the Evo 3D it looks as if the live feed from ESPN is breaking up with all those lines. At first I thought it was just a problem with ESPN, then I tried ESPN 2, ESPN U and various feeds of ESPN 3, and they're all like that. All other streaming video is fine. Must be a problem with the app.
havent used it on the 3d but its been working great on my view tablet. no grainy picture or pixelation issues.
Yeah, I just checked mine and it does the same (with the white lines)
I hope there's a fix in the works.
glad its not only me then, But yeah its weird. Sometimes for a few seconds its perfectly clear, then it gets those odd lines breaking up the picture..
Yep, you're not alone, mine does the same thing... lines going in and out, making it annoying to watch.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled adobe air but still have the same problem...
also did you install adobe air first? then install the espn watch app? or did you let the espn watch install adobe air automatically for you?
When I first installed ESPN watch it told me I had to have adobe air installed and I proceeded to have the Watch installer install it for me.
@ kingakuma , could you let us know what you had to do to get this to work correctly? seems like your the only one that its working fine for on the evo3d. Thanks

what version of android is on the transformer?
not sure if Adobe Flash had anything to do with it.
But i installed Adobe Flash first
Then i installed Watchespn and let it install Adobe Air.
:Edit:
As of today im getting and ERROR cannot Retrieve Config and the wheel just spins
Where did you get the espn watch?
Nevermind, It doesn't show in the market unless you spell it as WatchESPN
still not working, wish they would update the app..
It worked on the original EVO for me, but on the 3D, it just sits at the loading screen.
looks like all the comments about the watchespn app not working on the Evo3d have been removed from the android market. I think there were about 20 or so...

If you have insurance they will replace lost phones...
If you don't, Sprint extended the open insurance until the 30th... Technically it would be insurance fraud, but I'll leave that up to you. There's no way for them to know.

I think I remember something about sprint family tracker. You could check that out, but I think your gps has to have been on.
Depending on how smart the person that picked it up is, you may be able to install a tracking app from the Market from your computer and find it(as long as they haven't logged out of your account). You may be surprised. I would retrace my steps and see if anyone turned it in. Since it is a Saturday night I would assume that most likely you left it at a restaurant or bar. I would go back to each one of them(once they open) and see if someone turned it in. If not, you will have to report it stolen and get a new one through TEP if you have it. I always, ALWAYS carry TEP on my phones. It's a lot easier to come up with $100 deductible then to come up with $600 to buy one outright.
Ok. I'm sober now drinking my coffee.
I had a beer pong table set out on my lawn (I own a lot of land and am going to be combing it today) but I know its not there. I got in the car with somebody to get cigs (with baggy sweat pants on) at the local convenient store. I went back to the store (piss drunk) and asked the two girls if they've seen it and nada ****ING thing (its not in either of the two vehicles either)
I've called and texted my phone a million times (I have to slow down or my battery will die). I do have the $100 dollar insurance but am bummed out about the new hboot.
What's the name of the app that tracks it and how do I install it to my phone from either my tabs or PC?
Thanks guys.
Edit... I just read what I wrote..... I may still be a little drunk. Hiccup. Hope that all made sense.

The name of the app is Plan B. It's by the same company as Lookout.
Here's what it says on their website: "Lookout has an app called Plan B which can locate your phone after you've lost it. The phone needs to be powered on and have a network and data connection. Just go to the online Android Market (http://market.android.com), log into your Android Market account, and install the app to your missing phone. If you are able to install the app and it runs, you will begin to get emails to the Gmail account that you have registered with the Android market with location information."
I also read after you install it, you have to send a text that says "locate." I've even read where someone didn't start getting the emails til the next day. The phone had died, but then the person who had it recharged it!
Oh, yeah. After you install the app to your phone, install Lookout to your tablet, just in case. Not only can you do the locate thing, but Lookout also examines any app you download for malware.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

You can log into the market from your computer and have it install plan b on your phone remotely . The phone of course has to be on and your gmail account still linked on the phone. Plan b is for when you have already lost your phone and didn't have a tracking app installed. I just installed the sprint tep app that does the same thing as lookout for for free(I'm guessing you need to have tep for it to work?) That won't help now(plan b is your best shot) but it will help in the future if you ever misplace your phone

Well, the thing is I use HTC Watch. Tmobile actually gives you a $10 credit with the phone. It's not bad actually and I was just hoping someone had a solution for it. At most I found a workaround by using the widget instead of the app icon itself. It's not the best workaround, but it does the job so far. Anyone else notice this problem though?
Yeah, I'm having the same problem and I'm on stock rom. so, it's a problem on htc's side...

any update?
Same issue here.
Started using my EVO 3D again a few weeks ago when HTC Watch had the .05 cent weekend movies. So for the past few weeks i have been renting and watching and yesterday i got a notification for an update for HTC Watch. However when i click OK it takes me to HTC Software Updates, when i click check for update No Updates are found.
Essentially making my Watch useless.
The only work around i found was to create the full page widget and select my movies there.
I have an EVO 3D GSM and what I did to fix the issue was this:
dial *#*#682#*#* (the dial pad disappears and you see your up/down arrows for your data signal light up) and the phone automatically tries to do a software look up with HTC. It told me that I have a HTC Watch update. I downloaded it and it finally installed correctly.

[APP] HBO GO with HDMI support!

Update: So apparently this has been cracked by HBOTroll1, all thanks to him. You can find his thread here. Unfortunately I have dumped my photon because of Motorola's failed promises. It was a great phone but I will never again by from this company. I also do not have HBO GO anymore because of this issue but I might get it again to try this apk. I am reposting a direct link to the apk here.
This has been confirmed to work on the Photon by others. Also if you have an MHL device to try this on that would be appreciated. I am not sure if MHL is a problem to begin with though...
Disclaimer: To my extremely limited knowledge reposting this does not violate any copyright laws, which is not my intention. My belief is that this is a lack of functionality in the program which has been fixed in this apk. If such is not the case, HBO please contact me so we can discuss this error in your program.
MinceMan said:
I just got HBO GO, I know Game of Thrones is f*****g awesome as **** *** *****!!!!
Anywhoo... I tried plugging the photon into my tv as the PS3 does not yet have an app and HBO GO refuses to play video with the HDMI plugged into it. Does anyone know any way to stop the app or the system of realizing that the signal is being sent out?
I would be willing to put in a lot of effort into getting this hack to work but I don't even know where to start. So any advice would rock!
RANT: I know they have a reason for disabling this but for realz I can just torrent their shows so when I'm paying I'm not going to try and rip off their stuff. I mean there's a reason that I'm paying!
RANT EXTENDED: I hate all of this DRM like bullsh!t that makes it more difficult to be a paying customer then a priate. I mean you can just go to isohunt or thepiratebay and search for game of thrones 720p. Then download the playstation media server and install the extra codecs and whatnot they recomend. This will let your computer transcode the video files so that the ps3 can output the video over your network. Wifi N can handle the video great and plug in a hundred foot Ethernet cable for $13 and get beautiful streaming with 5.1 surround sound.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any kind of workaround for this. I remember having the same issue. Think I tried running HBO from browser in Webtop mode but can't remember if it just didn't work or if it worked and the video was bad quality.
Probably better off downloading vid from the net and installing to view locally.
what we need is to get our hands on the earlier version of the app
I've heard people report it USED to work using a combination of the first release of the app and something called Xternal Display (which just mirrors the image on the screen.)

[Q] Coming from the HTC family, what can you tell me?

For the last couple of years I've held in my hand an HTC device. I became very familiar with their S-OFF procedures and I am just curious what things are like for Motorola users. I know I should probably search, but I'd like some opinions rather than guides. How is Moto's bootloader unlocking different than HTC? Does Moto have an unlock tool like HTC's halfa** tool? Anyone else here move from HTC, is it worth it?
I'm picking one up later today on craigslist so I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into. Currently, I've got an EVO 3D.
I moved to the photon from an EVO 3D as well. I always used HTC phones going as far back as the HTC Mogul. I actually prefer Blur over Sense. There is a ton of little things about this phone that make it better, in my eyes mind you, than the 3D.
I've honestly never even thought about going back to an HTC. That is until now. With the evo lte coming out its provoking the need for a new toy.
I got this phone in October and I still don't wanna run it over with a tank.
Anything specific you wanna know?
No root tool, however, the root method is simple and pain free if you are capable and can follow directions.

Thanks for the info! I've wanted the Photon 4G since I renewed last fall but I chose the EVO 3D (coming from the EVO 4G). I was pretty disappointed with the 3D in general and I've regret the decision of getting it in the first place. But from your personal use, how's battery life? Is the Tegra 2 better than the S3/Adreno 220 in the 3D? I enjoy playing games and so far (Modern Combat 3, BackStabHD) have performed pretty well on the 3D. Any experience with these on the P4G?
Go back to the HTC family.
Sent from my ICS Shooter 3D
Battery life on the P4G is a lot better for me at least than the 3D ever was. Another note, reception. Leaps and bounds over Sammy and just a hair better than HTC. Wifi, data, calls and texts. To me 3g is unless on this phone. I sit on a super fast Wifi connection at home and 4g blankets the places I go.
As far as games go, my gaming extent is angry birds and techno kitten adventure.

Lol from experience with the P4G or because you have a 3VO?
3g is fine. I personally can't tolerate how slow it is.
You've got a point. I just assumed it was my area. Everything shows as 3G on my EVO but I swear it's 1x/EvDO. I think it's just to make people happy
Yeah. I work from home so unless I leave the house I'm on a 100meg connection. If my phone ever says 3g, I don't even bother with using data.
Any other specific stuff?
Thats about it. Thanks very much! Once I get the phone I'll post any questions if I have any but it sounds like I'll enjoy it!
Ok I picked up the Photon... so far so good (overall). I have two issues though that maybe you can help me with.
1) Headset might be busted. Plugin in headset the phone goes nuts making calls, bringing up voice commands - tried with two known working headsets. Audio sounds like hissy/tinny. If I push the plug to the side it sounds ok so I'm think it's loose? I'll get a Torx set from RadioShack tomorrow and check more.
2) The phone is slow. On the home screen, swiping between each screen has such a tremendous lag. The music player takes almost a minute to load the songs from my SD card (roughly 3000 songs). I just did another factory reset so we'll see how it goes.
Yeah. That sounds like it's broken.
Hard reset should fix the slow problem. I use ADW EX to replace the shock ui but that's just cause I like it better and I got the circle folders.
Anything else?

I tried a gameloft game tonight, Modern Combat 3 and I get to the 3rd splash screen and it reloads the app. I'm downloading the data files for BackStab HD now to see if that one will work.
HDMI out is pretty unimpressive. When you move from one app to another you can see a transparent image of the previous screen behind the active one. Not a big deal, HDMI out isn't a huge deal but for videos/pics I think it'd be fine.
Hopefully tomorrow with be a better day with this puppy. If I keep having problems I'll just claim it through Asurion.
EDIT: HDMI is fine. Problem was with a crappy HDTV.
