Skyfire updated - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

If anybody is using skyfire they released an update which is supposed to fix a few honeycomb issues. http://www.talkandroid.com/45041-updated-skyfire-web-browser-4-0-honeycomb-bug-fixes-and-more/?utm_source=feedburner-ta&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AndroidNewsGoogleAndroidForums+%28Android+News%2C+Rumours%2C+and+Updates%29

ive stopped using skyfire as my main browser. With the tabs ability to play flash I dont really need it. I use dolphin/opera/stock and they all work fine (minus input lag on stock and dolphin)

Firefox 9.0 apk?

Anyone have a link to the new Firefox 9 apk as it is no longer compatible with the nook tablet via the android market like the old one use to be.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/9.0b6/android/en-US/
Thanks for that link
And that is the beta version of firefox
Go up a few directories: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/
It should be pointed out: neither release or beta builds update themselves. You will need to do so manually.
Maybe check out Firefox's Aurora channel? It can update itself.
This is a better link:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/latest/android/en-US/
Seems to be nearly unusable on my NT unfortunately...
Use Dolphin Browser HD it's the best browser in market, has very useful setting like touch gestures and other stuff, try it out it is good.

I agree completely. I am a die-hard Firefox fan; been using it since it was Firebird. But the mobile version is crap It's slow and half the pages didn't load for me. I switched to Dolphin HD and it was much better than Firefox or Opera Mini. And I was still able to load all my Firefox bookmarks using the Xmarks addon for Dolphin.
yea i agree with the previous two people. I tried aurora but it just doesnt run fast as dolphin...at all
I already use dolphin HD on all my android devices but i wanted to be able to use my bookmarks from my desktop firefox and be able to blobk ads like i can with firefox desktop and firefox mobile. I can not find anything simalir for dolphin hd which sucks as when i play flash based vides they get slowed down if there are flash based ads on the screen and i cant just click ont he single element i wanna run it has to run all the flash elements on the page instead of just the one i want. That is why i was looking to use firefox over dolphin because the mobile version has ad block plus and i just wish i could get the same for dolphin hd but i ahvent found any way to do the same thing.

Also Flash video is jerky in the official browser that came with honeycomb on htc view 4g does anyone have a fix for this?
thanks

Same problem here....
Sometimes if you double-tap the video (the black bit) it will go full screen and start working.
If you check the Opera website, the specifically say their browser does not fully support flash in HC and newer android versions at the moment (works great in 2.2, 2.3). I really like the speed and fluidness of Opera myself. I hope they get this resolved soon.
I experience all the same problems with opera. also the honeycomb bar button with the 4 lines doesn't pull up any options like it does in other apps. wondered if that was a bug.
The options are found in settings by pressing he big O on the left side.

thanks for that info tried to look on their website before posting didn't find anything. but what you're saying makes sense. hope they update it.soon. personally I think opera is the best browser for android.
I use Opera, too. If you click and hold the video it will usually play full screen in another window.
That said, I do hope that the Opera team get inline videos working again, as it's nice to have the desktop browser experience reproduced 100%.
SOLUTION!!!
I INSTALLED Flash 10.2 and flash is working fine on Opera now. opens flash content in streaming media player.
other browsers flash playback jerky any solutions? all versions 10.2 and latest.
YOOOHOOO THE LATEST OPERA UPDATE FIXES FLASH!!!!
At least it did for me.
Yep, Fixed my issues with flash as well on the HTC View and my Galaxy Nexus. Unfortunately, it did not fix it my Asus Prime. Matter of fact, completely removed the flash option on the ICS and prime.

Cool. I saw in the changelog for the newest updates that it fixed Flash for some devices. Wasn't sure if ours was included in that, and haven't had a chance to test it.

Dolphin Browser HD

Hi!
I've been using Dolphin Browser HD on my stock Froyo ROM for quite some time now, but I've come across some various bugs:
- Serious stability issues:
I would normally browse the web and then all of a sudden browser would hang (loading a page for a very long time) and then my whole tablet would slowly become unresponsive or just behave strange (apps gone missing, Launcher crashes, every app I would like to start would automatically FC,...).
After restarting the tablet everything would be back to normal.
- Some flash SWF content would show as binary code (CWS):
Example:
Original link: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gti9070_galaxy_s_advance_shows_up_in_photos_and_video-news-3737.php
Somethimes flash content is shown and sometimes it's not.
I even encountered a SINGLE HTML page that a part of page would show flash normally and other part would just show the CWS binary code.
On my Galaxy S phone on the same version of Dolphin Browser HD this page would show YouTube flash object normally.
I've searched thru Google and couldn't found a single result, therefore I have a hunch that nobody could help me with this issue but hey, it's worth a try.
How is the stability of Dolphin Browser HD in HoneyComb after 30 minutes of surfing the web (ViewComb, VegaComb, HoneyIce users are all welcome to post)?
Also how is that YouTube flash object shown on your tablet?
Thank you!
I also use Dolphin HD as my prefered browser.
I have use various versions of Stock, CM7, VegaComb, HoneyICS
I have had issues with Dolphin giving FC's, hanging etc... in all until now
Currently I am running ViewComb 3.2 Build 6.3
Dolphin Browser has been fine ever since I moved to this.
Haven't tried later builds yet.
I also like ViewComb because it is an nvflash install making it quick and simple to install.
I too had issues so I uninstalled it and got chrome which works great!
Hope this helped

But for Chrome to work you need ICS ROM.
The latest ICS ROM is still in beta / development stage.
Wasn't Dolphin the browser that routed all traffic through their servers? (and no not as a speedup service like Opera). It sounds like its time for a different browser with all those issues? Chrome of Firefox do the job nicely.
No, Dolphin Browser Mini routes all traffic thru their servers, this is Dolphin Browser we're talking about.
I since then changed to Firefox, all the crashes are gone and I just checked that gsmarena page I complained about in my first post and instead of binary code I get that the plugin for this content is missing.
I still like Dolphin's UI better, but I found a translated version of Firefox's apk file which is a nice bonus.
The way I see it Dolphin uses Android's internal WebKit which in my case is outdated and buggy and therefore causes system instability and crashes.
While on the other hand Firefox uses its own Gecko which is more mature (I use the latest version of Firefox).
I would also like to try Chrome, but that requires Android v4.0+.

Opera nor Chrome work on our ICS or JB roms yet. Again, its a known driver issue that will be remedied when official ICS hits from Moto. In the meantime, I've found ICS Browser + to be a great alternative as well as Quick ICS Browser.

The fact is that since the facebook app doesnt work well with my internet, id like a browser that let me use facebook as the mobile site, not the touch site(as seen on the normal browser)
If you would know of an app that let me use it as the mobile app it would be greatly appreciated
I got it flashed to cricket and i have only 1x data...thats why browsing with opera was more suitable for my 1x

Both of the browsers I told you about support user agent switching. In the settings of each, there will be a user agent option, switch it to mobile and away you go. You could also try out boat browser. Or better yet, if you want a dedicated Facebook app that loads much faster than the official Facebook app, try out friendcaster.

i just downloaded quick ICS Browser and it did not let me change to mobile, it keeps sending me to the touch site, as i have read the other app is not compatible with jelly bean,
thanks i will try Boat Browser right now, wish it helps and if not im just gonna have to wait for an official release for opera, it was stated that it had jelly bean compatibility on the latest update but i guess it doesnt work 100%

Pretty sure its in the settings somewhere. Have you tried just going to m.Facebook.com then bookmarking that? I know for a fact that boat browser has that option. And opera is compatible will ICS and JB 100 percent. The reason it doesn't work for us is solely due to our lack of proper 2d libs and the way in which opera renders.

i have read that the reason why opera looks different is because it uses a proxy setting, thats why in my school i can use facebook with the campus' wifi, but just cant find another browser that makes facebook look like i want to, and i had tried all those and it stills give me the touch site(m.facebook.com)
the one im looking for, is apparently the old version of Facebook on browsers, like old phones used to have it.
as you can see on the picturees, the one on the ipod(broken screen) is the one im looking for
and the one in my photon is the one that appears on all the rest of the browsers

dolphin browser crashes on start after JB update

tried reinstall of dolphin, jetpack, w/ and w/o wiping data and I cannot get a stable dolphin browser install. I used it mostly for flash player and some of its other cool features. Anyone else have this problem? solutions?

guess that makes sense. while jetpack is awesome in that its native code makes dolphin very fast, it also makes it less compatible. that was it, I'm now fully functional, but a tad slower. not that it's any big deal on this monster of a device or anything...
