Is there an apk out there that replaces the standard lock screen (which is portrait only)?
I'm running CM7 Nightly 102 and can't get the lock screen to be horizontal since I find myself holding the Nook in that orientation most of the time.
WidgetLocker.
My understanding, due to theme chooser, widgetlocker doesn't end up saving widgets on the screen. They end up being erased after reboots.
if thats the case, you can try ripple lock

Man I wouldn't have laughed nearly as much if my r didn't look like an n sometimes
Ripple Lock doesn't do what I need it to do. I don't just want to unlock but I want the pass code/gesture to be horizontal too. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I'm sure there are other apps out there for this, but this was the one I stumbled across. Allows you to set a scrollable (or non-scrollable) wall paper without having to crop it with the Honeycomb wallpaper cropper.
Got rid of a lot of headaches very quickly.

I thought so as well at first, but I have the Transformer weather widget and its not as small and compact as his in the screenshot. So unless he found a way to resize - thats something different.
I'm curious as well what those widgets are.

These are from the Asus transformer. You can find them in the apps and themes section. I can upload the wallpaper, I think it is Vancouver.
Install the weather app as you would normally do. I used rootexplorer to make a backup of /system/app/DeskClock.apk and copied the new deskclock.apk into the same dir. The picture may not cover the entire screen in portrait mode.

I tried this app on my gt and liked it.
I tried it on my evo 3d..... my wallpaper no longer scrolls.
I tried all the settings to fix it.....nope didn't work.
So.............. Help!!!!

Anyone else having issues with WW?
My wallpapers periodically get cut off with the no scroll function on, leaving half the home screen black. WW would be the perfect solution for setting wallpapers on tablet if this worked

No issues here at all. Scrolling wallpapers appear as expected

I just select no scroll so the entire wallpaper appears and is not cropped. Scrollable will crop the image and reduce resolution. I believe exact is what you may have selected if a small version of the wp appears in lieu of full screen. Unfortunately i am having some issues with no scroll function, which i mentioned above. Some reviews of the app indicate similar issues.

I've no problem when I set no scroll but I don't see the entire picture.. is this your issue?!

I have tried every setting, tried adjusting the slide,and still it blows up the wallpaper. Unless someone decides to share what they're doing to make it work right I recommend using multi picture live wallpaper. Aside from having to refresh when switching orientation, this app is perfect for setting a proper wallpaper in HC.

To see what I talking about, first do a test to see bug
Hold HOME button and press POWER button.
The phone will do screenshot. After just press "power" button again
....ops what is that ?
To FIX:
delete from system/app
ScreenCaptureService.apk
(by deleting that apk you remove screenshoot apllication witch is make -CRT animation laggy all time)
and restart the phone.

did you restart the phone? no
My CRT animation has no lag. The pixelation effect is the bug that needs to be solved. Also, you can temporarily fix the pixel-effect when installing LCD Density and set it to 240 (it already is set to this I know) and press apply.
Your device will reboot and the pixel-effect is gone, but now it looks all white. It should not look like this either.

I'm on stock kg1. I renamed the file last night, rebooted and it kinda worked - blank screen before screen-off, which isn't right either. But then this morning, the pixelated screen-off is BACK!!!! I renamed the file back to its original name, and guess what - blank screen before screen-off again.

The LCD Density trick dosen't work. I try this. And I think this was the solution.. but after i change the position from an app in app drawer from Go Launcher EX I get the pixeled-laggy CRT Effect back.
Yesterday i remove the ScreenCaputre.apk and restarted. I was happy to have the real CRT effect from Nexus S.
But now i try to change in Settings the 2G -> Networtk to 3G. go back. switch off the display and boooooooooooom CRT Pixeled-Laggy effect si BACK.
I try both, to delete the screen capture and to setup the density.. Both was fail. thumbs down.
I am at Litening ROM 1.5 with Blue steel Theme. I will switch all animations off so i never get the ****ing CRT pixel Bug.

"Assumed fixed CRT" - The CRT animation people consider as the 'fixed' one is just a white flash.
"Supposed fixed CRT" - How the CRT animation should look, is different, you see the image displayed on your screen being ripped appart in red/green/blue and fade to the middle.

Yesterday i removed the screen capture and today i have the PIXEL Bug.. the pixel look like chess field.. like my Video witch i have posted..
Just tested it..
Removing screencapture.apk doesn't solve the CRT bug (pixel effect) at all .
And moreover, why should it? Bug appears even when you dont launch that app. I personally never use screencapture.apk . But still have the bug...
It looks like that everyone here who were patient enough to wait and see if bug comes back, rather than reporting at once that it works, still have this problem...
This thread seems to be a bit misleading... Isn't it?

I froze the screen capture app yestoday and i still have not got the bug back but then it was always fixed by a reboot for a short time anyway. I will report.

I only "discovered" this as the "CRT BUG" today....... Not worth fixing IMO Especially by removing function.
Remove pin from Yours sim cards it You have. This should solve this problem.

I Use my phones since iphone 3G and DevsTeam UltraSn0w unlock without a PIN.
And i Have the Pixel Bug Problem since I have the Galaxy S2. I think this is a major Problem. So Samsung disabled the effect. Maybe cause the Mali GPU???

The .so file needs editing.
In S2 also the .so file was problematic and Tungstwenty if I remember correct his name he fixed it.So someone needs to take care of this too.
Cyanogen Team was the first who fixed this ,and probably they will do it again

same goes for navigation bar, after I set the enable navigation to true it just freeze although I can already see the navigation button but it freezed. hopefully someone can figure out how to get the navigation bar and crt effect back

Ok.. If u disable or change your stock lockscreen and use screen off and lock (from market) you can tweak the animation settings to 'old TV style'. Its what i'm doing for the crt effect

Our stock lockscreen doesn't play nice with apps that can turn the s3 screen off. Probably a touchjizz 'feature'. To answer the previous post question.. No it doesn't work with the power button. Just an app to do the same task.
Blame the faulty power button issue the nexus one had,i've grown paranoid of using hardware buttons, fearing they become faulty from heavy usage.

I installed the update to Google Search which includes a widget and lock screen for Google Now. The widget loads fine, although its tiny and only shows one card. But i cannot see the lock screen in the settings. Anyone else?

the lockscreen widget is only for 4.2 devices so if you have a older version it will not work.
And the widget expands and shrinks depending on current cards being used

When i go onto the GN app i have 2 cards visible, weather and a stock/share price. But on the widget only the stock price is shown.
why I can't used google now on my galaxy s i9000 with C-ROM mix v6 ?
