Problems with white photos - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have never used the flash on my legend before until last night. I was horrified by the bad bad overexposed white'ish photos appearing on my screen when using the flash to take a photo of a badly lit room.
Only when i go really close to something the photos are ok but otherwise using the flash is absolutely rubbish !
Is there an app or update or something to correct this ?
Running CM 7.0.3

AFAIK CM roms have the ability to make the light brighter than it should be.try another rom?

Have tried both 2.1 and 2.2 original rom for legend with the same bad overexposed result.
My friends legend running stock 2.2 also have completely unuseable pictures with flash.

Yes, I tend to rarely use flash and adjust my real-life background lighting and white balance to reduce that crap. I'm on CM7, but this problem persisted back with Blay0's 0.7, 0.8.4, and Stock 2.1 and 2.2, but that doesn't really matter.
The camera is great without the flash, the flash is only useful occasionally but then you experience shutter lag. I just use it for the flashlight

How come HTC hasn't tried to fix this since it seems to be a persistent design flaw ?!

I have the same problem with ogo2's ROM

Camera quality in Free x10 beta 4

I recently flashed free x10 beta 4 with hotfix 1
Its working fine except I don't really appreciate there camera. The images taken are sometimes blurry..
I noticed that when I first switch on camera, the image is more odd a yellow color and after about two or three mins, it starts to turn more of a natural white color.
I really don't like there background of it... and also the inability to view images straight from the camera after taking them.
Can I adjust the things on the camera? I am seeing lots of missing features compared to three stock camera.

Agreed. 2.2 ROMs can't expect too much.
As far as stock camera features are concerned u should straight head to wolf's ROM! Though ui's gonna be the same. And for 3rd party apps cam360 and vignette r really good, but terribly slow @ 8mpx.
Btw I prefer cam360 because of the hdr.

You can enable "STEADY SHOT" function in camera settings, which should eliminate some bluring. I have it set to 1/2 sec.
For color adjustments you can try fiddling with the WB (White Balance) and set it accordingly to the enviroment.

Stable and Bugless X10 mini ROM?

Is there such thing as a rom that is bugless and stable?
For X10 mini? Thank you.
i think stock 2.1 is the best, no camera problem, no keyboard problem, no sensor problem
Stock rom is the best. No battery problems, no many forse closes , and everything is working but is more laggy than the other roms and you can't get the FULL capabilities of your device!!! On the other hand ROMs from xda's offer you newer versions and most of the times more stable than the stock one and you can take advantage of all the capabilities of your phone, but you may experience some hardware problems (and software ones) like audio jack detection, can't send or receive text messages ...etc. If you are not sure just use multiboot (Stock one inside the phone and some others in the sdcard)!!!
Hope I've helped!!!
I had reboots and poor battery life even with stock. As long as you use the right launcher and undervolt, battery is much better with cm6 and cm7. Latest versions of both are also very stable, fewer reboots and force close than stock from my pov. Camera is only issue with cm7.

but of course there are bugs...
LED color change is buggy on miniCM7, camera has no autofocus, so you can't read QR. For some reason I can't use flashlight toggle button on status bar like I can with miniCM6. Battery life & startup time is better than miniCM6, but worse than with stock firmware - definitely worse. GPS takes longer to fix (cold start, without GPS assistance data downloaded) than on stock firmware. There are still many bugs in miniCM7. The only better thing about it - it looks nice
Stock 2.1 is very stable, but I vote for Andread 2.2.9 v7f. Best Froyo ROM I´ve tested until now! Very stable, lite size, no extra features, everything working.
there's bug on the roms u must to try it ...

Camera problem (out of focus)

Noticed some strange behaviour on my S5830 :
- If I shoot a photo using Macro setting photo is nice and sharp
- If I shoot a photo using the Autofocus setting the photo is blurry (although in the display preview I see it's sharp) ???
Anyone having similar experience ?

Hey!
Do you have STOCK firmware? If yes, try to flash STOCK 2.3.3.
Flash Tutorial HERE.
CHEERS!
I have updated from stock German T-mobile 2.2.1 to (russian?) 2.3.3.
As I am not @ home right now can't tell what version exactly.
Is this a known problem at certain firmware versions?

Hey!
No, its not know firmware problem, but it exist sometimes. If this not solve you problem, try to flash like ..XXKC1(from samfirmware[its multi file, not single file]).

I am a tweaker and have did quit some changes already and am happy with the status of the rest of the phone so I am not very eager to do another fw flash...
I did however already purchase Titanium backup....
Guess I'm gonna just have to try to flash (maybe best VillainROM 1.0) and restore from Titanium....... and hope to be back up and running soon
Will keep you guys informed ... thx in advance
Yesterday I have flashed VillainROM and photo's seem to be better now. Have to do some testing but it looks promising
VillainROM is cool btw ....
My ace
My galaxyace this with a similar problem in Cemera, my camera does not focus, nor even in the macro and auto focus (does not show any difference between the two) and smileshot also does not work, I tried to change the rom, I am now with 2.3.4 (base s830xxkph).
the problem first started when I put Cyanogen mod 7 and returned to 2.3.4 (I tried 2.3.3 (with multiple files), but the problem persists).
anyone have any ideas? sorry for english I'm Brazilian
If you select 3.2 mega pixels in camera settings photos will be sharper.

How to disable Continuous Focus

Hello,.
we all know Continuous Focus is so good, but sometimes it doesn't work fine
especial when zooming or at night ,.when camera is trying to focus videos is so blury
Is there any way to disable it,.?
This is my 1st post in xda,. hope this is the right place to do
At low light, this is a really annoying thing for me too. Impossible to get a smooth shot of my childrens playing becaus of this
Had the same problem - fixed it by using "lgCamera" - there's a free version in the market. On my i9100 KI3 2.3.5 it stopped the stupid continuous autofocus in 720p and 1080p.
Liked it so much I paid for the full version (no change in autofocus functionality, just wanted to support the dev and get rid of the nag screen!
Free version: https://market.android.com/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera
I installed lgCameraPro 6.1, still continuous focus is activated , dunno if there is an option to be activated ,
but the application is very nice by the way
maybe firmware version 2.3.3 is the reason
Works with lgcamera on ics, thx guys

Camera Focus in Dark

On all the previous devices I've had, when taking pictures in a low light environment the flash is used while focusing so the camera can see what it's looking at. However, on the DNA (running a Sense rom) that doesn't happen, and I end up with a lot blurry/unfocused shots. Is there any way to fix this? I like the Sense camera app (and hate the AOSP one) but this missing feature is a killer.
