Forgot gmail account. - HTC EVO 3D

My not so bright friend locked himself out of his phone. He now needs to login with his gmail account, but has forgotten what his account is. Is there anything he can do? His carrier cannot do anything.
Ps I know this sounds sketchy, but it is the truth lol
fre3vo

Run the forgot username/password on gmail's site.

Any real help? You can't get your email from the site...only recover password

I helped a friend who got a lost epic that was locked. I somehow messed around with the recovery mode and got into the phone. Had to try it a few times, but it's worth a shot with this phone... Ill even try it now with mine. Don't wipe anything though of course... Then again shouldn't matter, can restore contacts through gmail.. Etc
Edit: now that I think about it, I dunno if itll work if he has fastboot on

Ask him what's the last email he sent with that gmail account.

If he can get to the factory recovery he can factory reset.

Maybe get a new friend?
Only thing I can think of is maybe you can boot into the bootloader and clear the configuration there. Your friend would have to get a new Gmail account, but the phone should go back to factory default.
That is power off (remove battery), put battery back in and hold the volume down and turn the phone on.

Android unlock-able phone HELP ):

Hello all,
I am sorry if I didn't do a throughout search but I needed help urgently..
and so...
I was playing with a friend's Hero's pattern lock, until it got locked till the extent whereby only inputting the gmail's account details were the only way to unlock it...
He tried to input the particulars, but they didn't work..
he was rather sure that the details were correct..
Anyone can provide any help to this?
Is there any way to "rollback" to the lock screen? I am sure my friend remembers the pattern... just that we couldn't go back ):
Or do we need some kind of internet connection to connect to verify for the account?
Anyone who have experience, I appreciate your help! (and everyone else)
Thanks!
is the phone rooted ? do you have access to the recovery menu ?
No I don't think so... my friend just recently got the phone and has done pretty much nothing other than installing apps from the app store...
He's a first time user of Android too... (so am I...)
Btw, recovery menu wise, do you mean the one whereby he holds a few of the buttons and on the device?
Yea, we managed to get there,
but didn't make any selections because there were some important messages inside the phone... and he doesn't want to hard reset his phone...
Any help? :/
Well if you are on the original stock rom that got shipped with the phone (I assume its 1.5), then I do remember a bug which didnt allow us to get through that menu. So we needed to do a hard reset.
If it has the 1. 5 Rom you can call the phone and disable the unlock pattern. You can do this by going into settings while the call is still being made.
Don't know if you're understanding this. This is the best way to explain.

I've done this a few times accidentally and the Google sign-in has always unlocked it.
Get him to log into his Gmail account on a PC to check his username and password, and then try the same details on the phone. If he's signed in with the correct user account then it should work if everything has been input correctly.
Also, when the phone tries to auto-complete his email address make sure it's correct... my phone always wanted to give me @Googlemail.com, however my email is @Gmail.com so I had to manually change it.
As for apps he has downloaded from the Market... if you do need to do a hard reset then he will be able to download everything again via the downloads tab in the Market app,
Also, any photos, mp3s etc stored on the SD will all still be there as the SD remains unaffected by a reset. The only thing he might loose is any contacts stored on the phone which are not sync'd with Google or saved on the SIM.

motoblur account gone...

hello!
gladroot works amazing because it literally took less than 3 minutes to implement. i am also with bell canada, so it totally works even for bell.
my concern is with the motoblur account. i don't know how useful it is, but i seem to be losing the motoblur account after rooting.
i us TB to move my apps and data from my nexus s to atrix, but when i am restoring these, i was very careful to only mostly apps and the occasionally system data.
do you think the motoblur account being gone is becaues of root, or is it because i have restored something with TB that is overwriting it?
thanks!
Are you getting an error when you try to add a MB account? After SBF/GladRoot your MB account and anything else on the phone should have been reset/cleared. When I booted the phone after SBF I had to add my MB account to it again.
No... the mb account was already setup, then I rooted.
After root I did the tb restore.
I guess I should have checked if the mb account was there or not before the tv restore ...
Anyway to add the mb account without factory reset or flashing? Thanks

If you are experiencing the same problem i was with the social network being broken, the contact pictures will not display fb pics and messages will come in way late if at all. The only way i could fix it was to SBF. First i tried the Adeo uninstaller, that did not fix the problem.
framework-res.apk
It seem you did not only tried Gladroot... Did you tried Gladatrix? or GingerBlur.... that problem occcur when is overwrite the following file: framework-res.apk.... it seem it broken the motoblur account and you can noticed because the social networking will be broken too... you press social networking and it will tell you to setup an accound when you press setup it will closed the app... until today only solution is to SBF to a base...

Thanks for the reply. For me, I did not try gladatrix or gingerblur. All I did was factory reset, gladroot, tb restore. I should not have overwritten framework-res.apk. I wonder what's wrong

On second thought, maybe its not such a bad thing that my mb account is down after reading the battery thread
What ia good about the mb account anyway? Gps locate and erase phone in case of thief, anything else?

[Q] Contacts application force close problem

Been rocking my Atrix since May, everything AOK.
Then I read up on how to root my phone, and got rid of some of the bloat ware.
Just noticed when ever I try to use the dialer I can't use contracts.
When ever I open contacts and press one, it force closes the app.
But if I open google voice, then contacts I can select one and dial out.
Incoming calls work as well, but I cant figure what I may have changed that shuts down the normal dialer.
If I add a market place dialer, every thing works fine too.
How do I get the stock dialer / contacts back?
Also, if my phone is rooted, w original locked boot loader, will resetting to factory screw anything up?
Try unfreezing or re-installing Yahoo contacts authenticator. That's what did it for me, and I've seen others report the same.
Don't do a factory reset yet.
When you "got rid of the bloatware" did you freeze that stuff or delete it?...

Actually I deleted all the yahoo, etc stuff.
Do I have to go back to "Stock" to recover?
And how do I do that.
Android Recovery results in 'Failed to Boot 2"
Factory Reset does the same.
So I'm stuck in limbo it seems?

EVO 3D Screen Lock

Been at the hospital for several days. My older brother was in a motorcycle accident and now I'm waiting to see if there's enough brain function left to continue treatment. He has and EVO 3d on Sprint. I need some help to get past his screen lock (numeric pin) so I can go through his contacts. This may get modded down but I'm desperate. Can anyone help me?

Sorry to hear that.
Is the device rooted?
I don't know his gmail and the phone is bone stock. Thx.
You could factory reset his phone, but that would also erase his contacts...
Exactly.
I need to contact some of his friends and I need their numbers off his phone. Can't factory reset.
Call sprint or whoever and act like him tell them u need to reset your password bcuz u forgot it and u can't unlock your phone they might ask for his ss # just a thought..good luck

If contacts all what you need. try to login to his gmail account and contacts will be there because they are typically synched with his gmail account.
Your other option to see his bill statement either online or on paper. you will see his contacts phone numbers typically there with location but not name.
Install android commander on Windows. Connect to your computer and if he had usb debugging "checked" you will be able to access everything via. Windows. Long shot but worth a try. I did this when I smashed my screen and needed to get everything off of it before I sent it in. I'm sorry to hear about your brother.

Normally I might chide you for being in the wrong section, but you've been through enough. I'm truly sorry about your brother and I wish I knew a way to unlock his phone. Life sucks sometimes.

Maybe Google can allow access if you write them? Or at least pretend to be him using his ss#?

Really bro? I'm so sick of the 300 mods we have in the 3vo section! Is it in the wrong section? Yes. Did you have to say what u said? NO! I would have done the same damn thing because he's getting answers faster this way. Go be a **** somewhere else...Anyway you might want to try doing the old trick from the early android days. Call his phone from another one and answer it. When u answer it hit the home button and see where that gets you. Hope this helps and God Bless your family

So sorry to hear about your brother. I work for Sprint and unfortunately there is no way to get around a pattern/passcode lock on the phone without a gmail username/password or a hard reset. What you can do is check the sd card to see if there is a vcard file on it. It's possible he made a backup of the contacts on there. The file will end with .vcf. If you see any files like that put them on a computer and import them into another gmail account that you have access to. Hope this helps and I wish your brother luck to recover from his accident.
You could use Juopunutbear to get S-OFF and then flash a custom recovery from fastboot and then either pull his GMail account information from there or at least bypass the lockscreen.

There is no way to bypass the lock screen or get gmail info through the recovery. Plus I'm pretty sure the Juopunutbear bootloader unlocker hard resets the device.
Couldn't you pull the data partition with a recovery menu?
if you know is gmail, then attempt to do a password recovery of it. if u manage to get the password then you'll find all is contacts most likely synced with Google contacts.
check if hes still loggged into his gmail on his PC.
if hes using Firefox, he might of have had firefox save his password on his pc (assuming he as a computer) in the firefox options u can look at a master list of saved passwords and hopefully his gmail would be included...
found a link here: i havent tried it but its worth a shot.
http://droidlessons.com/how-to-reset-your-android-lock-screen-password/
If your familiar with rooting and modding. then maybe u can get clockworkmod on there and from there do a dirty flash of MeanROM or or CM9. there by flashing over the lock screen and pattern while keeping data.... this should be a last resort...
If he has his own computer you could try loging into his Play store and instal an app called : Screen Lock Bypass (search it on Play store).
If this doesnt help then your best luck is to search on Google "bypass android pin lock" and hopefully you find some methods.
And good luck to your brother i hope he gets better. =)
I was able to figure out his yahoo password which allowed me to reset his gmail password! I got his contacts. Thanks!
Anyway I will try to unlock the phone later when this all settles down so one of his sons can at least use it. (Their Mom passed away last summer, they are in their early 20's)
Thank you so much guys!

Galaxy S3 Stolen, Finding via Google Accounts?

Had my damn phone stolen, some prats smashed my window through and took everything. I've tried installing all of those tracking apps, but it seems my phones either constantly turned off, or has been wiped.
But I've had another idea! One day they are bound to use my phone, and set up another google account with it. I was wondering, is there anyway that I could find out what google account they use?
Thanks
If you've registered your phone in the Samsung account... You will be able to track it from the Samsung my account website..
Have you installed any third party app which provides phone tracking such as cerbrus or Avast? If you have.. It's gonna be a lot more easier.. Hope that the thief's haven't done a full wipe and a factory reset on your phone!
Hope you find your phone back!

they've probably wiped the phone and there's nothing you can do besides have the police track it by imei.
if they haven't, install Lookout Plan B

no. you can't find out anything after it's been wiped
PS don't ask any more questions in this section, it's against the rules
Yea I've been down the installing apps route, nothing so far. So I wont be able to see when another google account signs into my device at all?
Keep trying with Plan B, it's probably out of battery, at some point someone will charge it up and turn on. I'd keep trying everytime I had a chance for a week....
