SEUS cannot repair phone - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

didnt see anything on this so i started a new topic...
but my x10 is haveing issues so i tried to repair via SE PC Companion, but the repair function doesnt seem to work, as i get... "An error has occurred and the phone software update was aborted"
and with the SEUS Update i get ... "The installation failed"
ive also tried flashtool, but the flashing of FW 435 fails @ amss_fs.sin stage..
Did i actually end up bricking the phone and have to send it for warranty?
unless i am missing something... any help would be appreciated

i used flashtool 0.2.91 , and the most recent FW too, the b.1 and still have the same issue @ the amss_fs.sin step

I had this problem once and I fixed it by flashing only the baseband back to the the phone

yeah i tried flashtool 0.2.8 and still have same issue with the amss_fs.sin file..

try to flash the kernel.sin only from flashtool 0.2.91

Since today (I just realised it today so maybe since couple of days ago) the repair button doesn't even appair for me in the SEUS.

No repair in my seus. it just say I have newest software.
are SE black listning phones whit custom ROM ?

I have a similar problem, phone just wont turn on. SEUS doesnt give me a repair option. Then flashtool always gives me error and then aborts. And when i leave the battery out for at least 24 hours, then plug charger into phone w/o battery, then put battery in 10mins later, it starts up. goes straight to Xrecovery. Reboot and it turns on. but eventually it just turns off again to the point i cant turn it on again. so frustrating. I really think the phone is done for...

My x10 its on 2.1 ofc
It keep restarting for no reason, i tried to hard reset it but no chance.
Then i tried another Sim card and memory card but still no chance.
Then i tried the repair in sony companion, it said no repair for this version.
It keeps closing/restarting when charging, running apps, texting, downloading.
Thanks for replying and helping!
SEUS always has an option to reinstall the 2.1 FW..are you sure you haven't overlooked it.
or you can try using the flash tool to update one of the FWs availabled in the dev section..
Already tried to reinstall with SEUS but not working and pretty sure i havent overlooked it.
Thanks for helping though
Do you have xrecovery installed? If so you can try flashing a new generic ROM. There are a list of custom and generic roms on "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987795". I hope this helps.
If nothing else attempt installing a basebrand AND a firmware that you know are compatible with one another via the latest flashtool.
I will try what u guys said, i will be back with the result ! ty
Just flash the newest generic 2.1 firmware via flashtool
i think its the .435 - that's baseband 54
im on bb 54 too, but i use wolf's cm 2.2

There is a repair button on SEUS which will reflash the device... I'm pretty sure it appears when it says that there is phone is updated, or there is no update (sorry, don't remember exactly, last time I used SEUS was a good 3 or 4 months ago...
Anyways, I think your best bet would be flashtool...

Its pretty hard to flash it or repair it when.. i connected it to my computer it keeps restarting.
Anyone got some suggestion?
you did switch off your phone before connecting it to the comp right? Just make sure you hold the back key while connecting the phone when the flash tool or seus prompts you.
I did switch it off b4 connecting and hold back key but still didn't work out.
The fact is.. it keeps restarting anytime. After the back key, it might open out and end up closing after a few seconds. :S
Oops, you kight have chosen to keep your user data whilst upgrading from 1.6 to 2.1, which resulted to all these issues. I would imagine that it would almost be impossible to boot into flash mode when your phone is always rebooting.
Ok.
1. Take your battery out.
2. Hold the back button. Make SEUS running and ready.
3. Plug it into the computer.
4. Put your bateery back in.
Follow the instructions. Hopefully it would work and good luck
If it worked dont forget to hit thanks.

Check the firmware or flash tool thread here or in the development forum.
I tried that too same result . What kind of forum is this no gurus or experts here who can give an expert advice or suggestion. Too much disappionted
only another "amateur" suggestion i'm afraid.
1) pull out battery (leave for 30 secs)
2) replace battery/DO NOT turn on
3) download a fresh install of SEUS.
4) run SEUS and follow instructions, complete as instructed.
5a) turn on phone, if fixed - yipee,
5b) if not - plug into usb and see if device shows in "computer"
6) (if 5b=yes) you know the phone is at least "contactable". good place to start for further troubleshooting.
7) post your results and be patient my friend, xda (x10) is currently up to its knees in new toys (unlocked bootloader) so people might take a moment to answer you.
hit thanks if i helped, seems my count is low no idea why, i think i'm helpful
Again I installed the fresh SEUS and did as instructed and no luck same result. It completely downloads the firmware but when it comes to installing the firmware its aborts. When i connect X10i to the pc it detects it as "SMEC Flash device" in device manager.
Further instruction needed

I am no "Amateur or Noob", I gave you the reflashing options, as I said, if no reflashing option available here doesn't work, then it's probably a hardware issue or you're simply doing something wrong.

Debug mode has to be turned on in application settings in order for flash tool to be able to root the phone. Therefore all settings except flash option will be disabled.

[Q] X10 Being weird

Hi everyone!
So I was trying to update my X10 from a CM7 mod to M&M`S MiUI 2.3.9, but when I tried to flash the kernel necessary for it, Flashtool wouldn't install it due to an error (12/055/2012 14:55:06 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed").
I didn't think anything of it, and decided to try installing the ROM anyways because I'm retarded. Now my phone won't get past the Sony Ericsson logo when booted, I can't flash anything with Flashtool because it just comes up with that error again, and PC Companion and Update Service won't repair it.
ANY and ALL help will be appreciated. Thank you!
Do u not meed to unlock bootloader for that Rom?
Sent from my X10 using XDA
Yeah, I didn't really read through everything. xD
Again, I'm retarded.
But is there any way of fixing this?
I would try this first.....in case youve not been using properly before.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23521989&postcount=14
I did that, and it tells me that there is no software available for my phone yet.
So you are doing everything exactly as it says in the guide, and your saying that when you connect the phone in step 8,it hits you with no new software available.
Im asking because
1.Its always worked for me(about 10 times without any problem)
2.People connect their phone too early when using pc companion
If it doesnt help, you can try an earlier version of flashtool
I did it step by step and I'm using version 0.6.7.0 right now because I can't find any links to the newest version. :/

Stuck on Sony Ericsson Logo no matter what (Xrecovery, Flashtool, Pc Companion)

Well first I'm not a noob, been here for more than 3 years.
The problem is serious so here are the details.
My gf's X10i was running on X10s, locked bootloader.
The ROM was unstable so she went to flash the official 3.0.1.G.0.75 using the latest flashtool 0.9.0.0
The problem was that she tried to flash it with the flashtool without installing the drivers for Flashmode. So what happened that the phone kept rebooting, and could not shut down no matter how she pressed on the power button, it's just boot alone.
Although she could access xRecovery, so she restored the previous ROM, but the problem persisted. Always the phone boots to Sony Ericsson logo than boot again, and could not shut down.
After installing the Flashmode driver, she flashed successfully the ROM, but the problem still there.
She installed Pc Companion, went through the repair, and yet again the same problem. The phone boots to Sony Ericsson logo, and then boot again, and no way to shut it off, other than taking out the battery.
Any ideas? I went through google and xda, but unfortunately couldn't find a solution. Please I could use some help here.
Try a differnt ftf and use seus instead of pc companion

you can find ftfs in my thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749426
Remove sd card
Reflash with SEUS not pc companion
Use battery out, USB in flashmode method
(battery out, insert USB, tell SEUS to flash, it will tell you to press back while inserting USB.... But press and hold back while placing battery back in phone)
That will guarantee a clean flash
Now for sdcard
Backup DCIM folder, xRecovery folder Andean other things you really need, do not backup the cache folders as it won't let you
Format sd card, place xRecovery folder back
I normally leave my DCIM on pc and dont copy back as it causes gallery problems sometimes if you have hundreds of pics
Let me know how it goes

REMOVE SD CARD AND SIM CARD !!!!!!!!! i really think it could be cache problem / sim problems....
i know it sounds really silly but its happened in the past to me, i swapped my sd for my backup sdcard and the bootlop disapperared
its like the rom i use atm is a bit funny with 3 network, if i have 3 sim in it crashes as soon as i install rom
but if i install rom with o2 sim card the phone works flawless lol
Thanks wo88les, yes I did remove the sim card and the sd card, and now the SEUS is downloading the software for X10i. The internet connection sucks. And I'm pretty on my edge after last night
Hope it will work this time. I appreciate your help guys.
Okay guys, I'm loosing hope.
I did take out the SD Card, and the Sim Card
Flashed the phone using SEUS, and yet again the same problem.
Flashed it again with multiple other firmwares, with SD card and Sim Card out, and no success.
This is the current state of the phone.
I put the battery, the phone boot to Sony Ericsson logo, then reboot again to Sony Ericsson logo, an annoying bootloop. And cannot be shut down without taking out the battery.
I don't know what's the problem, that what is annoying me the most.
Please some support from the devs.
Forgive me if this has been brought up, but have you tried unlocking the bootloader cause maybe it just needs custom kernel.

I didn't try to unlock it yet because I wanted to use just the basic custom configuration like installing MIUI rom.
And I don't know if it's a kernel problem, the fimewares contains the original kernel inside them.
And by the way I tried to intentionnaly unplug the phone while flashing to see if a triangle will show up when it boot. And yes I saw the triangle, I then reflashed the firmware, and I got the same old problem.
I'm trying now to use the flashtool on another computer, maybe it's a driver issue, but very unlikely.
If it won't succeed I will try to unlock the bootloader as z28tovette suggested

I can't access xRecovery.
I still have the same problem.
Okay here is what I did.
I tried to repeat the same procedures on a different PC, and as expected, it didn't make any difference.
So I went to unlock the bootloader with this method, and I faced 2 problems:
1. USB Debugging cannot be turned on, simply because I flash the original 2.1 firmware (X10i_2.1.B.0.1_CUST-DE GENERIC 1235-7836) and I cannot access it. (Bootloop till Sony Ericsson)
2. When the device is connected in step 4 (now wait until flashtool recognizes your x10), due to bootloop when the device is turned on, X10 keeps connecting and disconnecting. So I really can't start the batch qsd8250_semc.cmd, I tried to wait till the flashtool say it's connected, then I closed the flashtool, and started the qsd8250_semc.cmd, I got daemon started succesfully, and nothing more, so I run the flash again and I get error. I know I suppose to run it without the flash but the device keeps restarting!
This is a picture taken from the qsd8250_semc.cmd window.

I can't go any far with this behaviour of the device.
Whenever the battery is in, the device boots to SE logo, stay stuck for 1 second then reboots again to SE stay for 1 second , then reboots...
I don't know if I'm missing something in the bootloader unlocking, because I never tried it on the X10i before, but I'm sure everything is done the right way.

Thanks for the reply, but let me explain the situation again.
I already tried to use SEUS and PC companion for repairing my phone, and as the flashtool, everything go very well till the end, but the phone still not responding.
I tried to use SEUS, after the flashing, I unpludged the phone and got the same problem. It's just not booting further than SE logo. And keep restarting.
So let me sum up the things I did:
1. Reparing using Pc companion - Result: Reparing finished successfully, the phone bootloops to SE logo.
2. Reparing using SEUS - Result: Reparing finished successfully, the phone bootloops to SE logo.
3. Flashing multiple firmwares using the flashtool 0.9.0.0 & 0.2.9.1 - Result: Flashing succesfully, the phone bootloops to SE logo
4. Unlocking the bootloader - Result: Failed simply because of the bootloops and the USB Debugging Unticked because I can't access it.
5. Repeated all the above on a different PC - Result: Same problems.
The firmwares I tried to flash using the flashtool.
X10i_2.1.A.435_GLOBAL-GGL GENERIC 1232-9897
X10i_2.1.B.0.1_CUST-DE GENERIC 1235-7836
X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_CUST-UK GENERIC 1235-7379
X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_CUST-IN_GENERIC_1237-0692
The persisting problem of bootlooping: What's happening exactly?
When I put the battery inside the phone, the phone boots to SE logo, stay 1 second, then reboots to SE logo, and stay for 1 second, then reboots ... etc. Endless bootloop

It lloks like baseband issue and nothing more than it... I haven't seen this kind of issue before.. I keep flashing new from every other week just to test them...
A question for you?.. since you are saying your bootloader is locked, it should be easy to flash stock ROM using seus.. you can't flash a new ROM using flashtool if you r bootloader is locked.. you c, only flash stock roms and if u r not rooted then I think that's also not possible..
When I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.3 I had to downgrade and upgrade my baseband... some weird thing... there must be a link some where for it... or you might find a video on youtube for it.. look up...

I don't think so, because when you use PC Companion, or SEUS, it flashes the firmware with baseband.
But anyway I tried to flash the gingerbread firmware using the flashtool, X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_CUST-UK GENERIC 1235-7379 and the baseband 2.1.71, but the problem still the same.

{XMP} Possible bricked?... help!

After using flashtool to upgrade to ICS (Generic CE2 World from here), I heard that it was then best to use SEUS to force an install/repair in order for it to run as quickly as possible.
This started to work and then half way through just failed. So I tried again and it just failed.
The phone then wouldn't turn on.
So figured I'd re-flash using flashtool and start again - only this got 1/2 way through and also failed with the message:
18/059/2013 09:59:32 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="MEMORY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="HASH_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Block verification failed";
Now when the phone turns on a get a warning triangle and a picture of a phone....
What's the next step!?

Phone model ? Did your pc has your phone's driver installed ?
Xperia Mini Pro
All drivers installed - used the same PC and Flashtool to do the initial flash yesterday.
Then repair by SEUS failed - which is when the problems started.
Now SEUS fails and so does flashtool - using exactly the same file/setup as yesterday.
I've downloaded a stock GB firmware instead but get another error instead now, that it can't read the headers.
hmmm

Are you sure you chose the .ftf for your device? If yes, try checking "no final verification" before reflashing

yes yes and yes
But still getting errors I'm afraid.
Also I've not installed the whole thing on another machine and the same problems - so it looks like it's phone related.
hey bro
remember when you unlock your booloader you cant use anymore SEUS i read something like that before iam not sure. i suppose that reason show you error.
if not try with another pc.
