Cant download Pac Man in Samsung apps?... - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone please put the PacMan .apk here? It is showing that it is free on Samsung Apps but it wont let me download it. It says that it is not optimized for my device???
Why is it there then?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App

Are you checking Samsung Apps from PC or straight from your phone ? If you check from PC you need to select the phone type or else it will show you all available apps for all types of Samsung phones. Never saw Pac Man in my Samsung apps.

I am checking from my phone. It is listed in the free apps but I get an error when I try and download it... :-(

I get the same error. It's not just for Pac Man either though, it's all apps published by Electronic Arts which gives the same error: The Sims 3, Need for Speed Shift HD, and Tetris HD. Basically, all the ones that are trials that lets you play once for 4 minutes.
Might be a CSC thing? Mine is an Australian Optus branded SGS2.
EDIT:
Actual error: "Unable to download. Application not optimised for device(8002)."

Yup... Thats the same error I am getting... That sucks...

same error for me also on sgs2 on O2 - build 2.3.3 xwkf3

Does ANYONE here have the .apk available for the "FREE" version of PacMan that is on "Samsung Apps"? I am not asking for a pirated version or anything, just the free app advertised on Samsung apps...
Anyone at all?

What's wrong with just getting one of the many versions of PacMan available on the Market?

It's not free. You get 4 minutes of play and then you have to buy it!
The Namco version is available on the market. Yes, you have to pay for that as well, but it's not a clone.
Incidentally, it's £1.86.

Ok so... I have just gone back into Samsung Apps and I am now seeing (not sure if it was there before) that PacMan is listed as being compatible with Donut v1.6 of Android. Does that mean it is ONLY compatible with Donut?
That is really stupid considering that Samsung Apps is open to ALL versions of the OS and if this is the case then why dont they just not list these apps on a phone / OS version running Gingerbread or up?
STUPID!!!

ok guys I am on O2 uk and im having the same problem with latest f3 fw,
I tried to investigate the problem and i read some where that samsung made 2 versions of this phone one with NVIDIA tegra 2 and the other with Exynos.
People claimed that those games work on Tegra rather than sammy cpu.
However these r not confirmed news so please check it

Well I can't quote you an official statement that something that someone made up doesn't exist, if that's what you want
It's just quite clearly "another one of those stories" like the ROM counter counter, that counts how many times you've reset the ROM counter. I mean, come on! Next we'll be being told that Harry Potter is based on a true story!

Wait... what? Harry Potter isn't based on true events? That's just preposterous.

I did a quick research and it seems Sony and Sega are involved in this.
I can't understand why they banned Yongzh and don't do the same with all the garbage emulators that are rip-offs of his work.

Found a Psx3droid V2 1.1.2; dunno if it's from the original author or some kind of fork... but it works. Not as good as I would like to see, but it loads my Crash Bandicoot 3's backup.
Make sure you have the right version. I was running 3.0.6 and it would crash on me, but 3.0.7 should work without further configuration
ok I've been testin 3.0.7... performance is better than V2; but frameskipping is kinda agressive. it reports 50fps but when you remove frameskipping, it lowers to 42fps (with the obvious smoother movement)... anw, it's very good for a cellphone
Maybe some optimizations here and there and it'll be ready... I wanna test it with heavier games (graphically) like FF IX and see what happens...

Get your facts straight. This has nothing to do with Sony or Sega.
Yongzh was kicked off the google market because snesoid used code from the Snes9x project where the license is strictly for no commercial use.
I'm surprised there isn't more legal action since he's made quite a bit of money from the snes9x code. From memory it was specifically the save/load code which was included in the paid version which caused this.
While I do agree Yongzh's emulators are pretty solid and more feature-complete than the others, I don't like the fact that the code is taken without honouring the license. All it would take is for another savvy developer to port snes9x or another free/open source emulator and release it for free as it should be.
Last but not least, PSX4Droid is NOT made by yongzh. It's made by ZodTTD. In the case of psx4droid ZodTTD has his account banned for similar reasons (violated GPL).

hi,
i just dl'ed all the files for psx4droid v2. i created the folder on the phone and got one game to work. i found out that i transfered the wrong files for FFVIII (rar files instead unrared). when i plugged the phone in again the PSX folder i created is no longer there but the space is still used. so right now i have 2 gigs of data i can't delete.
anyone else have this happen? or know what to do to access the file?
edit: as impatient as i am i just formatted my internal storage. got back the space taken up by the files, but still would like to know if anyone else's files disappeared.
edit #2: made a new folder, whenever i unplug the phone and replug it, anything that i put in there just disappears. i'm a total noob at this. the only other phones i access the memory through the desktop are G1 and an older sony phone. both had no problems showing newly created files.
Will try when I get home

[Q] Samsung SmartView App Does not Show up in Market Place??

Folks,
sorry to bother you but not sure where I should turn next. Like most of us here I am the proud owner of the AT&T version of the Galaxy S II One of the features it was suppose to have is the ability to stream from your 2011 Samy HDTV to your Galaxy S 2 or Tab. I have such a TV (PN64D7000) and wanted soo bad to try this.
However when I go to the market it says my phone is NOT compatible??? Huh???
In every web article I have seen about this I have never seen any blub saying its only working for certain versions of the Galaxy S II.
(for example this one: http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/02/samsung-smart-view-shrinks-smart-tv-down-for-your-galaxy-s-ii/)
I have tried to contact the Andriod Market folks to see why. I also asked Sammsung Tech support as well. I guess the next stop is AT&T?
Just was not sure where to go next as I want to play with this feature.. Any other ideas?
I did see another XDA thread in the general apps section about where they are trying to port this apps to non sammy phones...
There are 2 fixes. Take out your SIM card and download through the Android Market. Or turn on Airplane mode, then just turn WiFi on and download.

[Q] Bricked Galaxy Player 5.8 ?

First of all, I am not sure that this is the right place to post, but I am new here so please move the topic if it is not the right place.
Secondly, English is not my native language so excuse any mistake I can make.
Thirdly, I am not an Android pro so I may use words for others, I hope you'll understand what I mean.
So, I was a bit stupid yesterday and followed a tutorial to root my Galaxy Player 5.8, tutorial that didn't apply to the Galaxy Player 5.8. Now, It is stuck on a screen showing a yellow triangle and an icon that surely means "connect the device to the PC". I can still use Odin. But What should I use Odin for ? Is there some working ROM or something somewhere that I can get on my device ? Even if that ROM is not rooted, I'd still like to be able to boot my Android instead of being stuck at that screen.
Thanks for reading and thanks for any help provided.
edit Nevermind, found what I wanted here: http://www.gsmkhmer.com/index.php?topic=8496.0 (remove spaces to get the link, I can't post links until 10 posts)
Now my Galaxy Player works like it used to work

I can't really tell, I never owned a 5.0
In fact this device is my first Android device, so of course I am really amazed by everything it does, even more now that it is rooted
It is rather big but I was used to carry calculators in my pockets so it fits pretty well
The only downside of the big screen is that if you only have one hand available, your thumb can't get everywhere on the screen
Other than that it is great

It is legal to attach it. But you can't because the file is too large. You can upload it somewhere like dropbox or google drive and post the link here with spaces in the link so all we have to do is get rid of the spaces.
As for 4.2, its probably the same story as every other galaxy player. Samsung doesnt want release it so we have to make it. Might have to do the same if you want it

Yes root is possible but you can't shange much on Tizen the email issue you would have to root your phone to the latest email. not GS it pulls from your phone. Root for GS will give us little things like custom ringtones some color fonts ect. But yes root has been done on Gear 2 and gear 1 (android)
And some peoples emails are fine it depends on your carrier

Gear S Stock Firmwares Make Rooting Fun ...
So, the stock firmwares are available for the SM-R750/R750B(Brazil)/R750D(DoCoMo/Japan)/R750J (KDD/Japan)/R750T (T-Mobile USA)/R750W (Canada/Peru/other randoms).

I downloaded T-Mobile (SM-R750T) from Samsung Updates. Not sure I am allowed to link to it but they have all of the ones available except AT&T (SM-R750A) which I just don't understand! Anyway I haven't had a lot of time to pick apart the .img files because I had to get my VMWare up and running so I could install Yaffers blah blah blah.
No stock firmware from Verizon?
Oh yeah!!! I'm sorry I forgot. No stock for Verizon or Sprint either. T-Mobile only. So ... Until that happens ... Be careful!!!

Ask for it from Sammobile.com. That's how I got AT&T's.
I don't think root is going to happen for this device at least not from XDA users. People are just into watch faces right now which is fine but no one is modding.

Lollipop ROM in 128MB size ? for note 3 neo? Don't bother to try .
I think its fake to. A rom can't be just 128MB ..
UPDATE ; Its fake! Theres a survey before the download
Thats a scam site !! It takes a survey to download but you need to be smart son , because 5.0 isnt out yet for our device. P.S I asked Samsung if Note 3 Neo will get Lollipop and they confirmed it definetely will get lately this year.

Thank you, Lollipop will be nice for our device
Will it get Lollipop? Is it true? Did Samsung confirm update?
There was a leaked Lollipop list from Sammy and the N3N was there if I remember correctly. Yet, I wouldn't be surprised that the KitKat is the last update we ever get. It seems, this device is not loved even by Samsung stores.
Funny story, I went to buy either N3 or the N3N. I was browsing and testing both of them. A blue-shirt Sammy seller came up to me and tried to convince me to buy the N4 instead. When he failed that, he tried the N3. When he saw that I was more interested in the N3N (mostly because of the price/performance), he said: "I wouldn't recommend that phone. This is a sub-par Samsung device. They just tried something and it didn't work out. You should get a proper phone like the N3 or the S5" Go figure...
