[Q] Car Dock Mode: Output voice calls through speaker - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use the Samsung official SGS2 Car dock with an audio cable to my car DVD sytem. When navigating with Google Maps and playing music the phone routes the audio to my car speakers. That's working good.
When I have an incoming call my ringtone comes over the speaker, but when I accept the call the voice is being routed over my phone-speakers.
Is there a custom ROM / mod / app who can fix this?
Bonus question: Why can't the SGS2 use the top 3.5 mm as a video output for my DVD player? Even the Nokia n95/n97 could do this. Anyone?
Thanks

Someone ? Thnx

Dont think anyone knows the answer right ?

Try to go into Bluetooth settings, there you can find all your authorized devices. Long tap on your car device will bring you into services list. Check or uncheck required services. Probably it will help you.

Hello,
i have the same problem.... some a answer for this?
only Calls over the internal speaker.. other sounds over the car-system.

hope some rom could fix this.
facing same prob.

i read somethink and some developers told that, the kernal must root the audio to the docking station.... its a app in the market for this, but its dosn`t work....
i think its the same problem like the galaxy 1...

dev competition - disabling headset remote

Hello developers,
You are simply great. You make a lot of nice stuff day by day. Thanks all of you!!!
My question:
Can someone of you disable the hero receiving signals from the headset. Even if I use simple earphones, when I stand up, or turn my body, the music stops, the phone calls the latest called person.
Can somebody do it?
Roland
You can use a different music player from the market. As far as I know not every app reacts to remote commands
You should edit your /etc/bluez/audio.conf file
[General]
Enable=Sink,Headset,Gateway,Source
Disable=Control
This SHOULD work, but you've gotta test it.
@klaus27
it's a good idea
but it still makes calls
@adwinp
I don't have this file
which ROM has it?

EVERY ROM has it.
just adb pull it, and re-push it, then reboot.
Or you can edit in place, just remount /system/ as rw, open the file in nano, and that's it.

Try /system/etc/bluez/audio.conf
/system/etc is the real location of the etc folder. /etc/ is a symlink to /system/etc, and maybe it's not there in all ROMs.
EDIT: Although, I'm not 100% sure changing the bluetooth settings will affect a plug-in headset.
I found it, thanks
I'm editing it right now
It didn't work. : I
The remote still works, and it drops calls if I move while calling
Is there any way to redirect music to bluetooth? That would solve everything.
the file looks like this now:
# Configuration file for the bluez audio plugin (A2DP)
[General]
Enable=Source,Gateway,Sink,Headset
Disable=Control
# Switch to master role for incoming connections (defaults to true)
#Master=true
# Just an example of potential config options for the other interfaces
[A2DP]
SBCSources=1
MPEG12Sources=0
[AVRCP]
InputDeviceName=AVRCP
Is it okay like this?
just buy a set of headphones off eBay for a quid.sorted
I have one and I love it
but it does the same, even if it has no remote
I sit down, stand up, turn around and it drops calls, stops music etc.
what developer can help me to disable it?
it is so stupid. I bought this phone not really cheap, and now I have to buy an mp3 player?!
android is opened
I'm sure, that somebody can help me.
I pay 10$ for the person, who solves it. Exactly: I can listen to music on my wired earphones without changing to the next, calling somebody or dropping call by itself.
I have never had that, but with the apple inear headphones clicking the center button twice made it call the last person in the call list but " Meridian Player conservative " has an option to turn on the controls for the player so now double clicking the middle changes the song! Give it a try
Hoped this helped
If I understand exactly, you use simple headphones WIRED, no BT.
And, try you another headphones? Or problem is in HERO. Some broke down in jack connector?
What original firmware? Same problem?
I use koss plugin with hero fw htc, sensehero1.6 and now with Androbin, without problem.
With my previous phone i have similar problem with hands-free headphones with "call button".
I have sensehero 1.6 on the device and it is the same with the original headset or my simple philips earphones.
But I'll try the meridian player : )

[Q] Galaxy S3 bluetooth confusion...

Hi there - long time lurker, first time poster!
Now, I'm not sure if this is a phone setting issue, an Android issue or my satnav/hands free issue - and sorry if this is a common problem, I did a search on the forums and haven't managed to find anything yet, probably using the wrong key words
So then, I've paired the S3 with my Navigon 70/71 (rebranded as maps & more by Volkswagen) and it works beautifully for streaming music. It connects as soon as I enter the car and holds the signal well!
...however, when I go to make a call from the satnav - it dials the number fine, but plays the audio through the phone earpiece and not the satnav speakers.
Of course, to remedy this I can manually click the headset icon on the phones call screen - but this is far from ideal as it means every time I nip in the car I have to get the phone out, set it to send audio through the bluetooth device and then start my journey. The moment you forget renders the hands free useless and you click answer or dial on the satnav and it plays the audio through the phones earpiece
My old phone used to just allow me to get in the car without a thought, get a surprise phone call, click answer on the satnav and all the conversation would play out through the car speakers without a second thought... can I do this on ICS and the S3? Basically getting it to auto route audio through to the car stereo when connected?
Thanks for your help and sorry if this is the wrong section/covered a million times before..

Hi I hope someone can help.

I have the z2 and just bought the sony mex n4000bt car stereo. I have been told by sony that I'm unable to listen to my usb stick containing music and have my navigation app cut in to give me directions. I can only listen to one or the other. So does anyone please no a way around this. I am not rooted.
Mount the usb stick to the phone with usb otg and listen to music via bluetooth. Navigation will cut in then.
Great thanks will give it a try.

I have the 5000 , just use the phone for your music, media and navigation. It will auto mute the music when navigation instructions are required.
Ok thanks. Sony told me it was one or the other. I'm obviously doing.something.wrong
For some reason neither is working for me. Is there any other app I need to install or anything specific set in my settings or sony smart connect app. Sorry but thanks
I have a similar Alpine system and the issue is you can only listen to one source. So if you play USB media the bluetooth will only cut in for calls. If you load your music on phone and play it from phone via bluetooth streaming then notifications and navigation will cut in as it's being done on the phone.

Hello guys,
i hope im posting this in the right section.. so here is what im looking for:
my car's radio supports only bluetooth phone function so i cant play music via bluetooth.. but i got this idea last time when even the phone function of whatsapp worked with the bluetooth of my car:
is there an app to play music via the bluetooth-phone instead of bluetooth-headset function? and if not can somebody give me a hint or usefull tutorials (playing music app, using bluetooth and so on) on how to develop such an app?
would be really great if u guys can help me with this it really pisses me off that i cant use bluetooth to play my music! and im sure this would help many others too!

First thing this is the wrong section.......
Second.....you don't need an app to do it man.....just connect to your car stereo....then go to Bluetooth settings.....click on the name of your stereo device....open device settings.....there will be an option for use as speaker or something like that....I don't remember the exact words....but I've done it before.....
Third.....always search for tutorials before posting direct questions......
Fouth press thanks buttons if i helped.....

I guess you got him wrong. You have to look at the Bluetooth settings on your phone and search for your car's radio as output source. If you have paired your device with your radio, you should be able to stream your music to your radio via Bluetooth if supported.
In case your car isn't able to support music playback, then there is no possibility for you to listen to your music besides buying a radio which is able to do so.

at least you understood me right
but is there really no way using phone function to play music? i mean whatsapp is just an app it should be possible developing an selfmade app to create phone bluetooth connection and then play your own music through it. or isnt the bluetooth-phone "tunnel" able to use for other things except calls?
Your issue is that your car radio desert support A2DP protocol. This is what is used to send and receive music to devices.
What you won't to do will not work unless you build an app that sends it's audio through the protocols for the phone. Here you will run into call issues.

OK Google is not allowing to listen to Music on Redmi Note 3

Hi All RN3 users,
I am writing this from India, using a Redmi Note3 Snapdragon, 32gb, running MIUI Global 8.0.6.0
I have been using this RN3 since 2 months now. I am music fan and was happily listening to songs on Rocket Player and few other Music players with Philips Earphone which I had got with Philips 1GB Mp3 player many years ago. It was a TRS jack and was working fine.
Suddenly few days ago the earphone went dead. After this I have been trying few others like JBL Headphone, LG earphone(TRRS) etc.
Everytime I plug in the ear/headphone and switch on the music player, the song plays for about 4 seconds and then OK Google voice assistant opens up on its own and stops the music. Push it to background and manually resume the music, it appears again. With my old Philips earphone I never had this problem and the top bar icon was always of headphone only. Now it changes to earphone with mic icon before OK google appears.
I browsed the net for solutions, forced stop the google app, disabled voice detection in settings, tried rebooting, tried 2-3 new earphones but no use.
According to some users who are facing this problem, it is a earphone jack and audio port hardware issue, earphone is being mistaken somehow as microphone and so the voice app is appearing.
But it was not there with my old model Philips earphone
Even now this problem is not there when I am playing FM Radio !!
No problem when playing the music with Phone Speaker
But only when playing music from music player apps and with Earphones inserted.
From net browsing I learned that even other brands like LG G3, HTC, Galaxy phones are facing this and with good branded earphones like Sennheiser, SoundMagic, JBL.
Also this problem was not there with MIUI v8050.
Is it a bug or a hardware issue? Is my audio-port damaged?
PLEASE help me solve this. What is the guarantee that buying a new earphone would solve this issue?
Hey Google, It is NOT OK to stop playing music.
I was also facing the same issue, and no its not a hardware issue. I solved this issue by modifying mixer file in /system/etc/ by changing a line from HIFI to LP and then a reboot.
Can you please give detailed info how to edit that file. Full path where to locate that file.
My phone is not rooted, I don't know how to root. I hope the solution you have suggested doesn't need rooting.
Open Google > Settings > Voice > Hands Free > uncheck "For wired Headsets".
OK google Detection > Disable everything...
Try this and see if the problem was gone

Hi madkiran, I have tried doing this and sorry to say it did not help. What you have suggested is the only action we as non-expert users could attempt.
I fail to understand how despite disabling it pops up once music starts playing.
