Fix for FC's problem - HTC EVO 3D

so i came across this by random chance i was trying to fix a default setting i made and i was clearing the cache of the actual sense apps under the manager. my phone reloaded sense and it cleared my home screen back to default. so i had to redo all my settings no biggie. i had also noticed a thread that had talked about the FC's happening because the resources where being used to much and to clear the processes in the task manager. so instead i loaded it up and waited while playing with stuff that would usually give me a few FC's on the sense. nothing not one FC so im thinking maybe it has something to do with when we start up our phone for the first time and the cache or some data it writes is somehow corrupt.
i could be totally wrong about this but the only problem i have had with my evo 3d was the sense FC's so its worth a try it worked for me so let me know if it works for anyone else having this issue.
EDIT:There are 2 main things you need to clear defaults and clear data on both of the "HTC Sense: apps that are running there was also es explorer that i cleared but doubt that was it. anyways its been several days now and i have not had it FC on sense or any other app for that matter so i know this fixes it now so if anyone does this pls send me some feedback i would love to hear if this helped anyone as i was ecstatic when i stumbled across this.

people force close

Every time I try and run the people application it force closes. This means trying to call some one I not got in my recent contacts is impossible. Anyone else had this issue? Cheers
This seems to be fixed by killing all processes in a task manager. Which seems off as a restart did not help.
I had the same problem when I first copied my contacts across to the new HTC Hero using Funambol. After some miserable hours with the new machine I decided that it was some corruption in the contact data causing the problem. So I did a factory reset to get rid of them again and it was fine again.
Then I read the manual and discovered HTC Sync this copied the same contacts across direct from Outlook and I have never seen the problem again - 1 month happy Hero using since then.

Market issue...

I am rooted and using the aloysius rom. I've been having trouble after the first time I downloaded something from the market...it just keeps hanging and not starting the download. Tried restarts and battery pulls, with no luck. Then I noticed a force close message for com.google.process.gapps. Searching around the net I found others with similar problems on other android phones, but had no luck there either. Their fix was to clear the cache for Gmail and Gmail storage, but this didn't work for me. Any ideas?
I had this issue, just wipe all your data and it should work.i know it's a hassle but it was the only way to get market to work again for me.

Are you or have you recently started running a2sd? If so it sometimes breaks market. All you have to do (if you are running a2sd) is go to your adb command prompt and enter.
adb shell
cd system
cd bin
a2sd fixmarket
and just to be safe
a2sd clearcache or a2sd resetcache, then you should automagically reboot and the market issue should be resolved.
I tried the clearing the data thing and didn't make a difference, but yes, it probably had something to do with a2sd. I ended up switching to Legendary Kaos v17 since I just rooted the other day and am still having fun trying some different roms. This one seems to have all the stuff I need, so will probably stick with this one for a bit. Thanks for the advice though, it's still possible I might go back to it...
So, it happened with this one too. It must have something to do with some .apks I was deleting. I hate having all of these extra apps that I don't want, so was systematically deleting obvious stuff that wasn't useful like Twitter and the like. I'm not sure exactly which one causes this problem, but thinking maybe the browser... I got rid of it so I would only have one internet connection through Dolphin. Hmm...

REALLY annoying bug with Task Manager! [EDIT: FIXED, STEMS FROM MOBOPLAYER APP]

Ive noticed every time I open the samsung Task Manager, it deletes the default I had set for the home application. I've tried fixing permissions, wiping, and reflashing the rom (Bionix 1.3.1), but the issue still persists...Im about to Odin to stock, its just Ive done that about 3 or 4 times in the past few days trying to eliminate issues with other roms. Just wanna see if anyone has heard of this, and how to deal with it.
Well I found the culprit, in case anyone is interested. It was a new app called MoboPlayer. Saw it in the "Hot Today" downloads in AppBrain, and it had some good ratings, so I figured I try it out. I guess thats when this bug started, cause it goes away upon installation, then comes right back when you reinstall it.
So I would avoid MoboPlayer for now, though I plan on e-mailing the dev to make him aware of the issue.

Business Calendar and Galaxy SII, wont save settings

I purchased this app and I am having an issue where it wont save the settings.
I posted on their help page saying I couldn't get it to save my settings and thought maybe I was doing it wrong, and got this reply.
Hello,
you are not doing anything from. This is a well known problem on some Samsung devices, since the update of Android version 2.2.1. The settings of some apps are not saved permanently. Once this problem occured, this will happen again and again.
As the problem seems to be caused by a bug in Samsung's version of the Android OS I am afraid to say that we can't do anything against it. We hope that Samsung is about to fix the reason of this in the future. Maybe you can contact the Samsung support, that they hopefully
accelerate working on that issue. So unfortunately your device is affected by this problem. Some people told us that a factory reset helps them out of this really annoying problem, but I won't guarantee for anything. That's up to you.
Best regards - Anthea Neums from Business Calendar Support
Now I have been running the Galaxy S since launch day and my Galaxy SII since December. I frequent the forums here daily. Yet I have never seen or experienced anything like this happening before. Is their reply BS or have I missed something in my readings? And if they are correct, is it fixable with a hack? I really like the program.

Weird. I use business calendar, and haven't noticed any issues with it not saving settings. I honestly don't make too many changes to the defaults though, so maybe it's something you are doing that I am not? If you want to give me a specific case that you can reliably reproduce, I'll give it a shot to see if it loses that setting for me as well...
All I have to do is open it and it goes right to the 'Welcome to Business Calendar' page nearly every time. I change the week to start with Sunday and the day to start at 7:00am, then when i reopen it goes back to the welcome page and my settings are gone.
Oddly it did that for a while, then it seemed to not, then it started again.
It does it for sure right after a reboot. I stopped rebooting to see if it would fix it but it doesn't.
I was considering switching to CM7 to see if that fixes it, but I like ICScrewd.
have you tried reinstalling the app? Maybe something happened during install. I also have Business Calendar and never have any problems with it (and I've changed the settings in the app, just as you are trying to do)

I'm also running ICScrewD (2.1, with Entropy DD 3/7/12 ATM but also with Siyah .13 for a while). Just tried changing week start day to Sunday (actually, shoulda done that a long time ago ) and could not duplicate your issue - closed out and re-opened, and it opened back up to the calendar.
As my friendly nemesis Mr. NYYDynasty said (yeah, I live in New England, I'm a BoSox fan ) it could be a bad install. You might also want to try clearing app data from
menu>settings>applications>business calendar>clear data
before remove/reinstall...
Good luck.
Thanks guys, I will give that a shot. I pretty much figured I would get better advice and help here on XDA than I would from the developers help page.
I will post back what happens after i give it a bit.

Well clearing data didn't help. As a matter of fact, there is nothing showing in the data indication before I clear it. 0.00B. Do you guys show some kind of volume on that data? I have nothing there or in the cache.
Its not saving anything in there I guess? It will work fine until I close it out. If I force stop it and then reopen its back to the welcome page.
I will try deleting and reinstalling.
edit: Nope, didn't fix it. I did have 16.00kb in the data section after a re-install and save so I was hopeful and it even showed that amount after a reboot but still went back to the welcome screen and lost my changes after the reboot.

Fwiw, I show 160k for data, and zero for cache. Not too many calendar items at the moment.
I got no clue though why it isn't working...

I run this app with no issues. Have not seen the behavior you describe. Do you by chance have both the free and paid versions installed at the same time? If so, delete both, reboot, and just reinstall the paid version. Just a wag....

I purchased the app straight off. Never tried the free version.
Deleting data and uninstalling has proven unsuccessful so I guess we are out of luck here.
I guess the developer was correct in saying some Samsung devices have an issue with it.
I am happy with the way my phone is set up right now but if I change the rom I will give Business Calendar a try then. Maybe a wipe and reinstall would change things. I am kinda holding out for CM9 before I do that though.
Seems to have been fixed when I switched to CM7 and then to RockRatts Cobra v2b. That leads me to beloved its not really a Samsung issue but rather a formatting issue.

[Q] Gallery dissapeared

First of all I am a noob and I hope this isn't one of those questions that makes me want to smack myself after figuring it out. The other day I flashed AOKP rom and then noticed the images from my google+ account started showing up in my gallery (not good). So I disabled instant upload, disabled gallery, and cleared the gallery's cache to get rid of the synced pics. I went back to enable the gallery and it wasn't there to enable anymore. Is there something I'm overlooking or what? I've tried some other gallery apps but am kinda partial to the stock gallery.
A) fix permissions. No workie?
B) clear cache. No workie?
C)reflash rom only clearing cache and dalvik.
There are other fixes but they take more time to type out. And one of these will work. I've never had this happen to me. But reflashing will fix it if nothing else does.

Thanks! Got it back on there. Of course the pictures I can't seem to get rid of came back also. Ahh well, I'll keep digging for them. Google seems to have really been slipping when it comes to the execution of some of there services, but on the other hand it's really hard to complain too much about free services.
