i have a gtablet and i rooted and now i have HONEYCOMB CYANOGENMOD 2.6 android version 3.0.1.
It works great.
The problem is that i wanted to tether it with my droid 1 and i installed ADHOC v2. i tryed to install WPA-AdHoc-Signed.zip but i get an error (...wpa adhoc signed amend scripting was deprecated switvh to edify...)
Now the wireless doesn't work anymore, it wont see any networks.
any ideas on what it might be? on how can i fix it?

Try using Barnacle Wifi Tether. Works great on my Droid 2 Global.

I have a Samsung Vibrant with the JK6 2.2 Rom installed some months now, and I have tried different versions of the Android Wifi tether and hasn't worked yet. IS there any workaround or fix for this problem? A newer version of the ROM maybe? Thanks in advance...
In 2.1 we i can't see any adhoc wifi. Is it fixed in 2.3?or still cannot see adhoc wifis

i have a xperia x10 mini pro running 2.3.5 gingerbread mini cm7 pro v13 final custom rom,
recently i noticed my wifi messes about and i dont know whats the problem,
it used to work before,
now it either goes in a loop ( connecting, disconnecting, scanning)
, it simply just says error and when it does connect after few min the connection drops,
would anyone able to help me with this problem
i tried barnacle, blade wifi fix, wifi fixer etc...

you're right wifi doesn't work on v 13, but now in v 16 worked perfectly.
is the v16 final?
theres new versions every second hard to keep up!

No, v 16 is the pre-final.
but so far everything is working perfectly, you should try it.
Hello guys , i have an important problem. I'm not having router in home, so im using connectify to create ad-hoc, when im on cm7 phone sees this ad-hoc conection, but on stock it doesnt. Please help because i prefer stock than cm but i need wifi connection. I heard aout some changing in wpa.supplicant but im noob, so please help!
You need to change wpa_supplicant binary that has been modified to display adhoc wlan (not wpa_supplicant.conf)
Try using wpa_supplicant from cm7 or googlng.
do you know it will work on cm9 by maclaw?

There is an app on google play (Wifi ad hoc enabler) that, for some devices, enables wifi ad-hoc connection (read carefully the warning of the dev).
In my personal experience I used it on both stock 2.3.5 (Vod-Ita) and stock (2.3.6) or cm based custom rom and I never got any problem, rarely some "Error" message from wifi. And now I keep on connecting at home without a wifi router and with damn Windows Vista on notebook (btw if you got Win7 you can set up an infrastructure network with connectify!)

it's also not working on cm9 by maclaw. i've tried it.
Being rooted I would like to tether off the root app for Android phones found here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
Has anyone had luck in using this? And if so, which version are you running? I just tried to use the 3.4 experimental version and doesn't work.

Don't upgrade to JB and use foxfi. Low battery use plus phone runs cool.
