[Q] Wrong thumbnails in gallery by movies? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I once removed al images and movies from my X10.
When I take new pictures, they are shown in gallery with the correct thumbnails.
But, when i take new movies, they are shown with thumbnails from already removed movies.
I tried removing /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails and clearing all data from gallery at settings - applications.
What must I do?

I have got the same problem with my X10i. only I have got the problem with saved backgrounds and wallpapers.
I updated it to 2.3.3 and rooted it.
all my pictures, backgrounds etc have got the wrong thumbnails.
i also cleared my data and removed the thumbnails files.
didn't remove the wallpapers yet. I will first wait for a response
thanks in advance

My problem resolved itself after re-installing stock 2.1 and upgrading to 2.3.3

well my problem started after doing that this morning
edit:
installed wolfbreak v3.6 instead of stock. problem solved

[Q] Help! pictures not showing up in gallery

I have never had any problems with gallery not showing the pictures that I have recently added, but today it's not working properly. When I add new pictures, I cannot see them in the gallery. I am still able to see the old pictures in the gallery and I am able to see the new pictures only IF I use "My Files." I have tried a factory reset, but the problem still exists. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Before anyone asks, I am running the stock 3.1 HC.
strongly suggest this app.... SO much better than the stock gallery

Thanks for the suggestion, but I still want to solve the actual problem and get the pictures to show on the gallery.
Try deleting all the data from /sdcard/Android/com.android.sec.gallery3d
And open the gallery again to rebuild the image cache.
This may work.
I have just checked gallery again and the new pictures are showing up now. This is very odd.... What could have caused the pictures to show up after a certain amount of time instead of showing up right after I transferred them to my tablet? Does anyone have an idea? (Thanks for the suggestions so far!)

new photo thumbnails messed up

anybody else got this problem? when I take a new photo then go to the gallery the thumbnail is nothing like the picture and looks like a mega zoomed in blurred image of some sort, if I open it the correct image loads ok, any fixes? can I delete the thumbnail cache to force it to rebuild them and if so how?
Go to Settings, Applications, All Apps, search the app called media, and then clear it's data, foce cloase it and restart phone. All should be working then.
Thanks,
Rick
Sent from my SK17i using XDA
the best way is to install SD Maid from Play Store....it has an option to delete all thumbnails in gallery and much more....combine it with Recan Media Root (also from Play Store) to scan and rebuilt back your gallery....
did what was suggested above but it didnt work so I installed a different gallery (im using quickpic) and it worked fine so seems its a problem with quickpic

Phone not displaying images in Gallery

I have a X10 running Oodie's CM V3 rom. This morning I booted it up, and somehow the images in my gallery were't showing (I use Scalado). I checked in the stock Gallery app too, it only showed my photos linked to my blogspot account which were online. I tried going to the file manager app to view them, then opened hem in Scalado, and they opened just fine. After that it still didn't show up in any Gallery app. I took a few pics and these new ones showed up though. I tried clearing data for stock gallery, deleting com.cooliris.media folder in SD card, used SDrescan on my card, and now even the pics i took previously didn't show up. What can I do short of backing up and then deleting/copy back the pics?
Hey, did you try with another image viewer?
Check if you can see on pc when connects mobile, just to start troubleshoot

[Q] Video thumbnails in galery

Hello there,
I'm on a Telus Samsung Galaxy S3 (at&t) SGH-I747). My problem is that Every time I try a rom, I've noticed that the videos I've taken no longer have a thumbnail (pictures work). New videos taken with that rom will be shown fine.
I've been googling around, and found suggestions to delete cache in the Gallery and media storage apps, followed by a reboot. I've even renamed one of the files, followed by the cache clear and reboot, to no avail. Whenever I do this, I can see the galery is actually being rebuilt because at first no medias are shown, then they appear and I can see thumbnails refreshing for the pictures.. Just not the videos....
Is it possible that the videos taken by the Samsung stock Android rom are different in some way? I would REALLY like to be able to see those thumbnails. Any answer would be appreciated.
I'm currently running CarbonRom 1.6 with JB.
I forgot to mention something... When I take a video using the camera app from the Carbonrom, then rebuild the galery thumbnails through a cache flush of gallery and media storage, those new vids DO get a thumbnail...

[Bug-Question] Themes apk shows thumbnails from old deleted folders.

Themes apk version - v 1.2.7.0 & also updated to v 1.2.7.5 today.
How to reproduce:
Go to settings > Wallpaper.
Browse local photos.
In this under Albums, it shows even old deleted images thumbnails and folders.
I deleted thumbnails from the entire system but it still shows old images and thumbnails from somewhere. If we click on the non existent image thumbnail it gives error "skipped a photo which isn't on device". You would expect that it updates its thumbnail cache after this and removes the thumbnail, but it does not.
Is there a way to remove all these old unwanted thumbnails?
I searched Google for this issue and it seems its an issue from Redmi Note 3 or even before. Are these MI developers so bad that they cant update a thumbnail cache properly? Or is it (the themes app) saving our phone images on MI cloud even if we have not logged in or have MI account?
This phone even has Cheetah and Tencent system cleaners baked into its "security center". Is this a joke?
I wouldn't have bought this ****ty phone if I knew before hand all this **** was installed in this phone and we cannot remove it. Seems like a black hole of privacy concerns here.
