How to DELETE Spiderman & Green Hornet - HTC EVO 3D

You can get rid of these crappy movie and crappy game to free up your SD card.
1. Connect your phone to PC via given USB cable
2. Be sure to mount as 'SD card' not 'USB charging' via your phone screen
3. Browse your phone's SD card via your PC
4. Crap Hornet 3D is located in ".data/HtcWatch/preload_movies/2141_0_SonyPictures_GreenHornet_3D.eny" at a whopping 1.76 GB. Delete the whole damn folder.
5. Crapman 3D game is located in "gameloft" folder at the root. Delete the whole thing. It's about 800 mb.
Viola! You just saved 2.5GB~ of your 8GB card, that's over 31% of your precious storage!

You'd really buy another SD card rather than just delete a few files off your current one? That's not exactly smart.

I was able to delete Green Hornet but Spiderman wasn't in the gameloft folder.

It's there, but the name is obscure. Just sort by size and you'll see a big 700mb file. Delete the the whole gameloft folder actually.

The only thing that was in there was a ".nomedia" file. I right-clicked to the check properties of the gameloft folder and it was listed as having "0 KB".

I'm thinking Spider-man downloads to your SD card only if you initially press the app icon.

What about "move to SD" through the Applications list?

Great post... Thanks for the tips and the extra space on the usdram card.. Also nice to see the Hornet and Spidey gone.

I need to remove the green Hornet off the SD card too. It's sitting on my girls friends Epic.

there was a thread believe where someone called htc to tell them they deleted it on accident and they gave him credit to spend on what he pleased

avatar copy and move

I was wondering how to copy the FULL MOVIE of avatar to my girlfriends sd card from mine? I am asking because she accidently deleted her copy????
I just bought a new SD card and copied the old one directly to it. Avatar plays from my new card just fine.
Dunno if there's some copy protection linked to the phone or just you have to have a Vibrant to play it.
I also moved from my 2GB SD Card to my 8GB without any problems.
As Col. stated though, I don't know if it'll work on another phone.

Ok,so while I am glad that it worked for the both of you,I still do not know how to do it.
So can one of you walk me through the steps in doing it? lol Thanks guys.
When you mount your phone through usb it'll open two auto play windows. One with a folder that says movie and the other your sd card. Find the avatar dcf file and copy it to your hard drive. Then unmount your phone and connect your girls phone and copy the movie to her movie folder. Done.

You can apparently play it on any Vibrant. The copy from my first Vibrant plays fine on my replacement.
Ok guys,so here's the deal.
I was able to get the movie back on my girls phone and it played, but tell me if you also have this problem.
Does yours also now only play from your gallery movie folder and not the avatar icon? Weird. I'm sure a factory reset will make it work again but just don't wont to do that at the moment.
Thanks vibrant fam!

create a folder in you sdcard and name it Movie. Put the movie in there. Your external sdcard... and the movie should play by pressing the icon.
So what if I renamed it avatar instead of movie? Do u think that could be why it does not play from the icon?

Yea, I believe so. The actual movie has to be inside your sdcard in a folder called "Movie" if not, the app will not find the directory it's looking for.
Ok so thats what im doing when I get home(renaming folder). Ill let u know if it works.

Ok,it worked. I renamed it back to "movie" and now the avatar icon plays the movie as well. Thanks for the help!
That's a huge chunk of space in your SD card....I just moved mine over to my phone's 16 GB of storage. Yeah the "app" doesn't work, but I can launch it from the video player just fine.

No you don't have to have same sdcard that came with phone, I transfered the contents of the sdcard that came with the phone, to a class 10 16GB sdcard and can the watch movie just fine.
Before you copy your files make sure show hidden files is selected, if not they wont be copied over, I only use Linux, but I am sure windows has an options to show hidden files or show all files something like that.
The Green Hornet files are in the root directory in a hidden directory called ./data that is about 1.8 Gig in size. It wasn't visable until I checked show hidden files in Linux Explorer.
After I did that, then I was able to watch the movie AFTER creating and HtcWatch account. But before that I would get no movie found.
It is hidden like said above. Go to tools/FOLDER OPTIONS/ENABLE HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS and it will be visible to move .

well for those interested... green hornet is attached. the movie is 1gb+ so slow download

[Q] sd card not gaining space

I did a quick search on this but might of missed something if i did could you please post a link.
When i went to delete three backups my sd card at 2gb/8gb of space left when i deleted the backups (3.3gb) the space stayed at 2g. I backed everything up and reformatted the sd card, then put it all back on then tried to delete more items and the space wouldn't change. It is the stock 8gb sd card on rogers evo 3d. the problem is there rooted and not rooted. Does anyone know how to fix this.
what free space do you get when you put it in your computer?
when i put it into computer i still have only the 2gb
Copy everything to a folder in your desktop, and format the card. See what happens. Might be defective.

The only preloaded movie is The Green Hornet 3D. You'll need to dl a file explorer from the android market and delete the file and/or folder. But why would you want to delete a free movie?
you will need something like root explorer or es explorer to do this, go into the root of your sd card and search for .data press it then go into HtcWatch and then preloaded movies, just delete the preloaded movie folders brah. if this helped hit the thanks button ;D
download TB - Titanium backup Very useful! You can delete bloatware using TB
email it to me, I didn't get it!!!
Wait, can we remove movies and bloatware with es file explorer and TB, with a factory stock non-rooted ROM?

You don't need all this mumbo jumbo, just go into the HTC Watch application, press on the three bars on the bottom left hand side, press menu, and select Delete Downloaded Copies. I had to restart my phone after this to show the free space. Why make it so complicated?

Two answers:
First: WORST MOVIE EVER!!!
Second: Takes up almost a quarter of the space on the provided 8GB card (1.7GB)

You can always purchase a 16gb or 32gb sd card, I have a 32gb sd card and have converted 5 movies to 3D so far with no space problems

[Q] Android

Ok quick question. On my sd card is a folder called "android". Inside is a folder called data and inside here looks like app data. My question is can i delete this folder cas it takes up 6gb.
Reason im asking is before on old rom i had moved all apps to sd card but after new rom i installed all apps to phone mem instead. So now not sure if this folder is from now or if its all my old app data from before. Unmount of sd card and my apps still work which makes me beleive its ok to delete but thought id ask u gurus first before i cause major problems.

Some applications store data in there, for example the Amazon appstore caches all your APKs there, I believe Google Maps' cache is there, etc. In *general*, it's fine to delete it but just be advised you may actually lose some data/settings you don't know about. If you're cool running all your apps with the SD card unmounted, I don't see why it would cause you any major grief.
Well basically yeah figured that. Now if i delete it and i lost sum app data cant i just use tibu and restore it ?? That way i get of the junk...???

I doubt it, I don't think TiBu backs up the stuff on the SDCARD, but I could be wrong about that. I've only used it one or twice
Any input from anyone else before i try this ? The whole idea is to try and clean some space off of my already small sscard. Just didnt think i had 6gb worth of apps and thinking it came from before when i moved everything to sdcard. thats why im asking the question in my OP.

You could always duplicate the folder on your pc, delete it entirely from your sd, and see what happens. Run it for a few days, and try out all of the apps you regularly use. If all hell breaks loose, you could just put it back on your sd and delete portions more selectively.

Worked great. Copied folder to my pc then deleted it off my sd card. Restarted phone and ultimatly it made a new android folder. All apps still work. Freed a bunch of space. Foind out Basically that folder contains all the data from games and any apps that may need "downloaded content". So dont delete it unless you feel like downloading all this data over again.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
I'm glad it worked out.
I'm curious. Considering it re-downloads data, is the size of the new folder considerably smaller?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
Well for me yes cas i think i had app files somehow from an earlier rom. Im not saying you will too im just talking about my situation so id be careful just in case.
