[Q] Hide adwlauncher from task manager active app - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi i know this is a foolish question.. but how can i hide adw launcher from task manager active app?. i already move the adw apk to system/app and rebooted but still it is active app. i want it to be hidden from active apps because i use it as my default launcher..
please do not flame me.. i already searched google and this forum but i cant find any related answers..

Moving it around will not make it less an active app as it is. Launchers are your home screen and they do have to be active and not be empty tasks.
So you should save your strength trying to make it become not an active app when it is running.

[REQ] Mobile AP toggle widget

I have been looking for a widget to toggle MobileAP on and off since I use it as my primary internet connection at home, it sucks having to repeatedly turn it on and off every time I leave the house.
Might even be cool to have it automatically shut off based on location?
If something similar is already available, please link. I haven't found it. Thanks
If you use adw launcher you can make a custom shortcut to mobile ap, then just turn it on n off... Fast enough for me

how do you do that I am trying to figure it out?
Edit nevermind I found it under activities
You can try "tasker" in the market.
Yeah, but doesn't it change the wpa code every time its activated? Wouldn't you need to go into settings anyway to get it?

The passcode is the same once you set it up and the ssid.
I used Bettercut to setup a shortcut to the Mobile AP settings but not an actual toggle which would be nice.

It really sucks this was moved to Q&A, it's a dev post as far as I can tell. It would probably take 15 min. for someone savvy to make a widget that does this. I guess most of the devs don't really use mobileAP.
real laaaaate response, but both "AndSpot Widget" and "Mobile AP Shortcut" work real good. I personally prefer the first one, as the other one is kind of ugly.

touchwiz 4.5/tw launcher - organize app ideas?

how do you guys sort your apps in folder and app drawer?
im currently running touchwiz 4.5 from task650 ics'd out v5 rom and app sorting only works within each grid. i want all the apps with all the grids to be sorted alphabetically.
Are there also no way to sort in folders?
appzorter doesnt work for touchwiz 4.5.
i want to know your ideas.
You need to open the app drawer. Menu button then edit. You have to manually organize your apps in alphabetical order. I have always been able to move apps to different drawer screens. When you download a new app just move it into place.
I know about that. I just thought there might be something i missed or an automatic way.

App screen folders

not sure if its in the right section.
When i first got my gs2 it was on 2.3.3 now im rooted modded etc one feature i miss is the ability to make seperate folders within the app screen itself not the home screen any ideas how this could he achieved on adw launcher ex or has that been scrapped since rom updates etc have moved on. just liked the idea of tidying the apps inyo relevant folders im a bit ocd with little things like that.

Organised Drawer on the market is the nearest I can think of.
It's more of an app drawer replacement I think, but will do the job.
You still can as far as i know...
From the app drawer: Menu Button -> Edit -> Drop applications onto "Add Folder" at bottom of screen -> Drop newly filled folder into app drawer.
I haven't used any gingerbread rom past KI3 so maybe something changed, but I just upgraded to ICS and the options is still there so i doubt it.
Can you not just touch and drag
An app over another one to create a folder?

On the ICS stock launcher home screen, yes. In the app drawer, no. In Touchwiz, no.
Isn't he using
Adw launcher?
Edit- NM I've just tried it doesn't work. What about trying go launcher ex I know that allows for folders and a lot more customisation.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yeah you might be right. I haven't used ADW EX since before the recent big updates though. Previously when I tried it folders weren't possible in the app drawer...
One of the major reasons I stuck with Touchwiz actually.

multitask app

is there any good multitasking app? i like a swipe gesture (like zephyr from iphone) rather than long press home and also should have app killing capabilities, also what app are ok to kill from the running list?
Do not use a task killer.

+1 billion.
Download Nova launcher and then you can put an icon on your homescreen that let's you get into the multitasking menu with one press.
It will work with TW too.

ive read the description of nova launcher but couldnt find anythinga bout multi tasking. can you explain a bit more?
Not only nova you can have it in apex too, in fact you can simply bring the recent apps menu by making a swipe gesture on home screen
《tapatalked from galaxy s3》
I'm not sure if it works on the gs3, but I use an amazing app on my transformer prime called gesture control.
It basically allows you to define actions by using gestures.
You can define two, three, and four finger gestures.
It really is great. Needs root though.
So you can define a gesture for bringing up the multitasking menu and it works throughout the whole system anywhere.
You don't have to be on the launcher homescreen .
Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontroldemo
tried apex launcher but couldnt get it to work when im inside an app. ill try gesture control. anyone else have any suggestion for me
anyone can give me suggestion on a great gesture app that can open the recent app from anywhere?
Wave launcher is also cool multitasker. Quite different though.
Also looking for this, something like zephyr for IOS that works inside apps. It allows to close an app just sweeping from bottom to top.

i tried the app and it worked great. Can I ask what the risk of enabling usb debugging is? Im kinda paranoid of what it does, also can you suggest to me what good gesture is best to bring up the recent app list?
What does usb debugging do?
I don't understand why you don't just want to hold home? Plus when on this screen if you swype to left or right the preview is binned.
As for killing apps, Android runs on linux, linux manages ram very well and indeed runs better when you don't keep closing things all the time, it caches processes to save you time and battery when you next need them!
I use a app called "multitask shortcut" which is awesome and it only cost .50 dollars. It doesnt work inside apps though. I wish there was something like Zephyr for Android. It was awesome on the iPhone.
