[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-5830L with Unefon/Iusacell/Movistar - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hello, This is my first comment in these forums
I just unlock a Samsung Galaxy Ace is with Telcel and working properly.
After his unlock I put a simcard Unefon, but when booting I get a padlock that says Network Lock with a button that says Reject.
Pressing the phone boots normally with the legend of Emergency Calls Only, I get the full signal bars and one side a little icon of a simcard with an exclamation point.
When I search for available networks are:
Telcel
Movistar
334050
I choose the 334050, but does not solve anything, I tried selecting only 2G networks, but neither.
My question is if I have to adjust some settings on the phone or I have no choice but to change the firmware.
If I have to change the firmware, Which one would you recommend?.
Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

Hey!
Where you get your unlock app or something, with what you unlock you phone?
Can you give the link?
CHEERS!

Hello Casiocas.
I used the services of GSMLiberty dot net, they sent me the software and instructions.
When I type *#7465625# I get this information:
Bloqueo de red
[OFF]
Network lock
[OFF]
So I guess the phone is actually unlocked.
I have a picture, but the forums still will not let me post links.

Hola, a mi me pasa algo parecido.

I have a tutorial for this and it is harmless to your phone if you do all the steps right.
Ok i think that you get something wrong with your code, i recommend trying with another sim, or see in the network configuration that you have everything right to work with this new sim you have, and if you want to try a custom firmware y recommend the Fla.sh ROM or the FirstUA-ROM
GOOD LUCK

HELP!!!
I already unlock my samsung galaxy ace but i have a problem with 3g internet access y have the custom rom from vivo brazil and the baseband that i have is the s5830bvjkp2 but i only can use 2g networks, if i put it in 3g then appear an only emergecy call message, what i can do??? Or what modem i need to flash to make 3g network works???
MY CARRIER IS UNEFON GSM OR IUSACELL GSM
Thank you.

Hello!
I installed the rom version 2.3.4 (vivo - Brazil) in my galaxy s5830L (3g 850/1900MHz). My mobile carrier works with 3G 2100MHz, so I can not connect to 3G only 2G (edge).
Do you know if there is any possibility to enable 2100MHz in s5830L 3G?
Thank you!

Here's a rough translation:
Friend, something similar happens to my Galaxy ACE, sometimes it detects the network but only in 2G mode, I've never gotten it to recognize the 3G network, I'm going to try different ROMs, but for now I'm using a Brazilian ROM for Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread "but it only works with 2G, I'm looking for a ROM that works with 3G for Iusacell/Unefon"

Not at all since the radio is physically (hardware) different and shouldn't support 2100MHz 3G.
I've heard of some phones that had a third, inactive band that was turned on somehow, but that is more of a fluke than the norm. You're gonna need a regular S5830 or a S5830B to use 2100MHz 3G.

Already Detects UNEFON/MOVISTAR in [email protected]
I now already make it that galaxy ace detects 3G Unefon Network in WCDMA mode at 1900Mhz, but when i try to subscribe the phone to the network, then the subscription fails and the phone send me a message like "emergency calls only" Any ideas why is happening this?

[Q]Models of Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5830

Sorry for this post, but I want to help the GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L users because in this forum only coverage the GT-S5830 users.
At this moment, exist 3 models of the Samsung Galaxy Ace, the global version is the GT-S5830 and the original firmwares exist in samfirmware.com and in this forum exist some custom firmware to this device.
The others versions are the GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L, the main difference in all versions are:
2G:
All versions: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G:
S5830: HSDPA 900 / 2100
S5830B: HSDPA 850 / 2100
S5830L: HSDPA 850 / 1900
I have a question, why in Samfirmware don't appear American Region?, Samsung will launch a Android 2.3 to GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L device?
At this moment we have some firmwares for this device, but this firmwares need to be installed over an European Version such S5830XXKPE or S5830XXKPH and this firmware must be flashed with Oding using custom package option.
Some firmware are:
Chile - Entel
Mexico - Telcel
If a GT-S5830L user install a firmware of samfirmware.com have this issue:
When phone boots with a simcard inserted, this connect with the operator network and detects the data APN.
The user can dial to a number without problems
Some seconds later (30 sec aprox) the phone change to "Emergency calls mode", the user couldn't make more calls and 3G network not available
If the user reboot the phone works again but some few seconds the phone comes to "Emergency calls only"
Any one could help us to have original firmware in samfirmware.com or exist any method to install an European firmware and don't have the "Emergency calls only" issue
To solve the issue the user need to set usage of only 2G networks in Settings.
i have same problem with firmware, but i manged to fix this problem with another phone with stock firmware from my operator.
i used the base system of stock firmware, create an update.zip .
after that i installed last 2.2.1 firmware and use the update.zip file.
if u want u can pm me and i will explain to u how i did it.
i hope this wile help u.
You could try the amss.mbn file and replace it with your amss.mbn south america version and put it in european odin flash. I now this because the ZTE Blade was sold with 2.1 which was gen 1 radio firmware and devices sold with 2.2 and 2.2 radio firmware enabled hsupa and the 850MHz band. So you could try that

Well, I open the MODEM file (extension .tar.md5) and replace the file, then when I try to add to odin, launch a message that said "Invalid binary type", then I try to flash but 10 minutes later still in downloading amss.
I disconect the phone and flash again 2.2.1
Well, I think that other option is flash the 2.3.x full (without CSC file) and then create a single package with only amss file, reboot the phone and flash the single package with odin.
Is it possible?, is compatible the 2.2.1 amss with the 2.3.4 or 2.3.3
Thanks

I have an ACE s5830L TELCEL too and I just have a few (2) issues with the "emergency calls only" but i have many problems with wifi (it just turn off and i can´t turn on again only resetting the phone) and problems with flashing screen when I use European firmwares KPE 2.3.3 or KPH 2.3.4, so please kiriotto tell us, do you have an ACE 5830L or just an ACE 5830?
if you have an ACE 5830L, really you don´t have this issues? (wifi and flashing screen), and so, the solution to this problems was flashing with a T-mobile cooper.ops?
thanks for your time...
English:
i install the KPH 2.3.4 and i had the same problem (wifi problems and screen flashing) , i just activate the "use only 2G networks", under setting-wireless and networks-movile networks and alway keep activated that option and also "use packet data", when you want to use wifi just activate and when you deactivate it, the edge in 2G mode become activate.
greetings from mazatlan mexico.

I'm from Brazil and I have a S5830B, yes, with the B, haha.
I bought the phone a few days ago and the first thing that I did was flashing the latest 2.3.4 FW, after that, the phone had these problems, the wifi and the screen flashing. Even flashing back to the 2.2.1 using the European FW, all the problems was still there.
I had to swap the phone with another new on the store. Now I'm using the new phone with the stock 2.2.1 S5830BVJKC4 FW.
We really need an american 2.3.4 FW.

After I install this Kies and connect the S5830 to the PC it shown "this device is not upgradeable". I wish someone in here can help me to upgrade to 2.3.3, here is the information I found on my S5830:
Model number - GT-S5830
Andriod verison - 2.2.1
Baseband version - S5830XXKB1
Kernel version - 2.6.32.9-perf

Please help, thank you.

[Q] (Q) 2.3.3 America

guys can anybody tell me if there is a ROM that works for american ace?
mine is S5830LUBKA6 ... So there's no firmware on samfirmware.com... can you help me? I'm from Costa Rica
All the ROMs available for the Ace even the European firmware works for any Galaxy Ace (base from experience).
So enjoy and try them out.
Wich band do you have? 850 mhz, 1900 mhz?
If you have 850 mhz band, you can flash with this fw:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144575
Before to flash, put this code on your phone *#1234# and save that information (pda, phone, csc)
If your band is 1900 mh and flash with that fw, you will lose 3G

I've heard people from chile that used the rom 2.3.4 vivo but they didn't use the csc file you left the space in blank. Search for the post how to root and flash samsung galaxy ace for instructions on how to flash. The flashing process will erase everything on your phone. so perform a backup!

[Q] Can it be unlocked?

I've read a couple of posts about this, but it seems there's not a clear criteria about it. So I want to buy an LG G3. I live in Costa Rica. The cheapest version of this phone on ebay is the Sprint version, but the unlock codes available for sale on several websites for the LG G3 only support the AT&T and T-Mobile version.
So, I really need to know if the Sprint version of the LG G3 can be somehow unlocked (not by requesting to Sprint the unlock code, because most ebayers don't even have a Sprint account haha, which is kind of suspicious how they got hands on one of these devices ). Can someone please tell me for sure if there's a way to unlock this phone and use it internationally on a WCDMA (3G) network (with micro SIM card)? If there is, does it depends on the specific ROM/version/model? I don't want to buy this phone and ending up without being able to use it as a phone in my country.
Thank you so much in advance for any information/tip you could provide me! :good:
hmm
be specific mann
Yes.it can be unlocked . I am sure ... Cause i saw someone sell this phone and have unlocked it to use gsm /cdma..

Question I need help, I can't connect to a 5ghz wifi network.

My Wi-Fi is capable of doing it, I have other cell phones at home that can connect, but for some reason the Wi-Fi assistant does not work. I also noticed that wifi is much slower on this device. The device came with miui 12 and Android 11 and I didn't get any 5ghz network either, I updated it to miui 13.0.4 and Android 12 and it doesn't work either.
I saw in videos that changing the region of the device might work, I tried it and it didn't work either. Somebody could help me?
"Make sure your wifi ID is set to visible"
When this phone is out of box (or after flashing new rom), during the setup, immediately, you will be asked to connect wifi, at this stage, all available wifi will shown up 5G and 2.4 G. for you to select. (regardless it is An11, An12, miui 12.5 or miui 13 etc)
If no 5 G to choose, then I would say it might be hardware problem.

Translation:
So what I have to do is flash the rom? Or how do I make it ask me to connect to wifi again? Sorry for the ignorance.
We would love to see you translate your posts to English, as not everyone has auto translate turned on.

Sorry, my question is: What exactly do I have to do? Do I have to factory reset my device? I was told that I have to be asked to connect to a Wi-Fi network but I don't know how to get them to ask me for such a network.

Yes, just do a factory reset. your phone will be like a brand new out of box set.
(back up all your data first, all data will be erased)
Switch power on, follow the screen, set country, language region... after few more step your wifi connect will be shown up and let you to select. at this stage, you will see all available wifi connections (all 2.4G and 5G wifi).
