I found a really nice boot animation on youtube, but it's in the "wrong resolution" for our device...

Does anyone can put in 240x320 and flashable with CWM?
I don't know how to do that, the boot animation is very cool, and I want to put on my Mini Pro... (using CyanoComb)

I think you can't resize with that apk he said, maybe he got you wrong.

If you are on a stock 2.1 ROM, I think they don't support custom boot animations. If you are on a custom ROM, I really don't know what's your problem, because I test all of my boot animations before I upload them.

When I had stock 2.1 I could change boot animation. I added bootanimation.zip to -> data -> local and It was working...
Where do you paste this file?

Try to put it in /data/local.
you also forgot something.. :]
you forgot to delete the thumbs.db in the zip.. :] but otherwise amazing boot animation. would u by ne chance have a Skype so i can get like voice communication? if not dont worry ill keep asking on here.

Thanks! I know I forgot the Thumbs.db files, but I don't have time to fix it. I have a Skype account, but I'm going on holiday tomorrow, so we won't be able to chat for 10 days. I will send you a PM with the Skype username.

I made one by myself from a XDA template.
Right resolution and it says "Xperia P (LT22i)" on top.

after copyng the file i changed the permissionns as the original file
i tried to make a bootanimation myself but it didn't work.
i made some 480x800 png pics of low size.
then replaced the pics given in your boot animation. thought it would work but didn't.
can you tell me the reason, it should have worked!!!

i change boot splash done, but after that, my hyperion gm rom back to stock rom, so i have to flashed hyperion gm rom. i think we should make a backup before change boot splash

Kernel splashes stored in the kernel. You have to edit kernel to change that image.

I've just decided to create a bootanimation which looks like the Bios-Setup.
My bootanimation is inspired by this one:

Then pls do it the other way.
Seems to not work... I copied and replaced my existing one using ESFileExplorer... noW I just get a black screen with a white box in the middle...
Is there anything else I need to do?

Absolutely! I love ths animation! Im combinatiom with a black based bootlogo it´s just great. I would like to see 5.1.1 instead of 5.0.2 on it and later maybe 6.0.

I've made a bootanimation which is supposed to look like booting an old computer. I've made it so it displays some Xperia SP info. I think it looks good.
Installation:
Download Flashable zip, and flash it with TWRP.
For advanced users:
If you have root and don't want to reboot to recovery:
- download bootanimation.zip
- delete bootanimation.zip from /system/media
- copy my bootanimation.zip to /system/media
Download:
