I really Really need an oregon ducks football themed skin for my phone...i haven't really been able to find out how to make them and i'm sure its way above my head....but i'm running mikshift G 1.3 if anyone needs a project or just really really wants to help me out that would be sooo cool!

I finally got back to your PM, I hope it helps. Let me get you started on this:
Begin by opening up the MikShift ROM, then navigate to /system/app, and find SystemUI.apk. Unzip the apk, then look in res/drawable-hdpi. You will find a plethora of images, which you should recognize as the various phone graphics. For any graphic you want to replace/edit, do so, being sure to retain the same file name. Stay away from anything with .9.png as the extension, we will deal with those next. When you have edited all of the desired images, let me know.

Androidian Theme for Stock ROM

I don't know if anyone else is interested, or even if I'm just a n00b that stumbled upon something that everyone else already knows, but I'm so happy that I had to share.
I tested out Iced_Glacier, but ended up missing some of the stock stuff (everything I don't need I disabled through terminal emulator); what I did like though, was the sleek Androidian theme available on the Rom. I extracted the content of the .zip file, perused it some, and found the Androidian.apk in with the other stock themes. I installed it using the package installer, then when I looked in my themes it was the first one!
Edit: It has been noted that the Androidian.apk is in the market; but the following still holds true:
CALLING ALL DEVELOPERS:
To all you developers out there:
I think it would be cool to have more themes zipped up nicely into .apk packages like this, it makes for really easy installation, and it's very non-invasive.
Hopefully someone else can benefit from this thread, I know I was excited in my own n00bness to figure something <even this simple> out.
Thanks to beanbean50 the link to the .apk is in post #7...
Cool. Good job! Mind sharing that theme apk and a few screen shots?
I'm still stock and the very reason you said is what's been holding me back from a custom rom too.

See, I told you my n00bness would shine through! OP has been edited to reflect this.
"that theme" may be listed in the market but I've been trying for two days to actually download and install it. The download starts and then stops for no apparent reason with no error message, so does anyone have a link directly to the apk?
You could always try to do the same thing I did in the OP... Extract it from a rom.

[Q] Custom Boot Animation - Exporting Issues

I have created a new custom boot animation that I plan on sharing out with the crowd, however I am having issues with the animation playing during start up. I know I have the desc.txt correct as well as the naming conventions. I have tried both png and jpg sequences and to no avail.
I am zipping them up with WinRar as bootanimation.zip w/ "Store" and the compression (no compression).
I have tried all kinds of settings on these files and they just won't display and I am tired of beating my head on the keyboard. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with the image files themselves. I am exporting them out of After Effects as PNG sequences as well as jpg sequences and have gotten it to start running and then it just stops once it hits a certain frame. Is there any specifics that I am missing as far as settings on jpg or pngs? Is there anything special about exporting them from After Effects?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It shouldn't be this damn difficult, but it's always the easy crap that gives the most trouble.
Awesome, 68 views and not one response.

see if this one works for you(ran it through optimizer to make it a little smaller too).
remove it from the photon-bootanimation.zip and rename it if need be and put it where it goes

Holy crap it worked. What app did you use to optimize these files? (link) And were there any specific settings you used?
I swear it had to be something embedded within the file itself. I had exported from AfterEffects and then tried re-saving them using Fireworks and Photoshop with a bunch of different settings and file types, but nothing worked. I even went as far as tinkering with permissions on the files and set them all to 777. Imagine the frustration.
Thanks a ton, I greatly appreciate it. I'm going to share this one (with proper credit to your help) and I also pitched you a donation.
Cheers!

Thank you for that.
And I will send you the optimizer files later(away from pc and really easy to use if your going to use pngs) as for why it didnt work is at the last line of your desc you need to hit enter (so your last line is blank after the last line of code)open the one I made in notepad++ to see what i'm talking about. I'll pm you a few tips later if you want? Thanks again for donation(saving for more phones and tabs to learn on)
?
wow, I knew it had to be something stupid. Any addl info you can toss my way would be appreciated. Thanks again and feel free to PM anytime.

[Project] MIUI Dialer/Contacts for Stock and Eclipse [Zipped APK's/Framework files]

So far, I have downloaded the newest MIUI Rom version, and pulled the APK for Phone, Contacts, and Contacts Provider. I am not sure where to find the rest of what I need. I know how to push them to the phone, but I don't know how to make a flashable version. I tried to push them to my phone as is, and got a FC along for phone, as well as the phone app itself didn't work.
Anyone have more info and want to help?
Edit: I uploaded the files for anyone. They are from MIUI 1.10.14.
Edit 2: Here is the link with the zipped APK's and Framework. It is in my Google Docs account so it should downlod fairly quick for anyone who wants to play with it.

I think u have to decompile and then recompile with correct x2 framework... Could be wrong here...

No idea how to do that, that is what I am getting at. I am just providing what I have dug up to make it easy for someone who has the ability. Or, if someone can learn me what to do, I would be happy to do it myself
If I get free time tomorrow, or this week, I'll gladly see what I can do. With a son due any day I can't make any promises. I've done some of this in the past.
I can get you links to de-compiling and what not tomorrow when I have access to my laptop.

Here is a link from the Fascinate group, it pretty much applies to Android in general though. It goes over the tools needed to decompile and whatnot. I'm sure there might be more to it than this, but it will get you started at least.

Wow... thanks man! Looks a little over what I am comfortable on using/testing myself on my only device. lol
Anyone comfortable with trying this?
It can be done. You will need to add all the framework resources that the apps are calling. Pull the framework from the miui build so that you know what to add.
as far as a flashable zip, can we just repackage your flashable for eclipse nitroglycerine33? When I worked on the Fascinate I just reused a theme zip to be able to flash instead of pushing.
God, how I would love to see MIUI on the X2. I actually just bought an older phone so I could run it.
I tried to upload the APK files and the Framework in 1 zip and it won't let me attach it. Says I am missing a security token. I am going to upload it somewhere else and post the link for you guys.
Added zip with framework and apk's.
Link is not working
Can any one extract these apks and post ?

Ninjamorph on Rezound?

Hey guys, got a quick question. I am new to the HTC Rezound, but not to Android in general. I am coming over from the D2G, and was wondering if I can use either Ninjamorph, or an app like it, the same way I would use it on the D2G. My goal is to change apk icons, so I can basically create the exact look and feel I want. I have read around that you can do it on a computer, but computer usage is few and far between for me.
So basically what my end goal would be is to find an image, download it to my phone, use some sort of app, and be able to alter the properties of the .apk file I am working with, so that I can change the icon thats displayed in my app drawer. Not sure if that makes sense.
I have tried to look around, and I haven't found anything saying whether this will or will not work on the Rezound, so if this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize, please just link me over.
Thanks for your help in advance!

I am also wondering if Ninjamorph or Metamorph work with the Rezound. I too am coming from a Motorola device, DX. There was another post on here asking about changing notification bar icons and I posted the question at the end of that thread. Hopefully someone has an answer
I had a d2g as well before upgrading to resound. I believe you can use ninjamorph/metamorph. Atleast to decompile/recompile the .apk. I have changed some .pngs in systemui.apk but what I did was extract all with rootexplorer, make my changes, zip it back together then rename the .zip to .apk. it worked like a charm.

[Q] XML Questions for my apk ...

Hi,
I've been trying to make this app mostly for personal use.
I actually am just changing/designing the images to just skin it really.
Feel free to check it out ( http://db.tt/qfFVq7uz ) (see attached as well), but I have a question or two about the xml stuff.
In the settings, I want to change the links that are inside there that go to other site to basically reroute them to our website.
I have tried looking at the xml files, I'm assuming that's where the link gets it's info, but not 100% sure.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to change these links. Changing the images and signing the apk is no problem for me so far.
Just a little help needed with the xml stuff. I can see it with an xml reader/editor, but it all looks foreign when I open it. I know html and what should do what, so I'm not completely useless when looking at it!
Thanks so much!
The links for the buttons are not going to be in the XML files. XML is just going to be the visual stuff, anything that does anything is going to be the java files. I know how to edit XML in apps, but I have no clue how to do smali edits, which is what you'd have to do in order to get the results you want.
Thank you. I have no idea how to edit them yet either! Doesn't mean I can't learn. I've decompiled the classes file to get to the smalis, but that's where I've stopped for now.
