Script to boost responsiveness of your device - Xperia Arc Themes and Apps

Hey guys, I just checked out this script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
It's v6 Supercharger... works for xperia arc, too. The device is now more responive and has less lag. Give it a try.

@NeoCream; wich settings did you use?

I just installed option 4 and everything seems to work like it should. Dont feel any different so far but this is really interestning, please share your findings.
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk

before I installed the script (with option 3) I had AutoKiller Memory Optimizer installed. I removed the app and just let the script handle the memory.
The system feels as fluid as with the app but the script does not force my launcher (GO Launcher EX) to redraw the icons in certain situations. Scrolling and everything works as good as with the AutoKiller Memory App... just without the nasty side-effect e.g. re-drawing launcher-icons.

niceee. thanks for sharing. using option 8 512mb megaram with the 100mb cut off not the 125 one. I used the autotask killer or whatever it was and it kept redrawing the launcher..doesnt happen anymore! very lovely.

Hi there , when I tried to install V6 Supercharger , it requires Busybox 1.18.2 OR LOWER but how do we get a previous version of that app ?

Open up Busy Box and you should see on the top of the page a drop down menu where you can chose which version of busy box you want to install. After selecting your version of choice just hit the install button!
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk

When you say open up busy box , do you mean in the market ? or do i have to download it then open up ?

When you have Busy Box installed it should show up in the app drawer (where you have all your other apps).
Just launch it from there.

works like a charm. noticeable less lag after running script. Thanks!

What settings do you guys exactly use? And which fits best for the Arc?
And does it remove the ability to do OTA updates like removing system apps?

The app is actually called 'Busybox installer' download it from the market and then after it has been installed, open it then click the drop down list at the top then choose the version of busybox you want to install. This app will download and install the version of busybox you want

just annoying, can't get it to work
installed busybox 1.18.1 (via busybox installer)
Script manager installed from market
V6 script in root of SD card
In script manager only checked: browse as root
Open V6 turbo....txt and checked only run as root
set 1 (for scrolling text) and after this option 6
after this chosen option 17 (exit)
reboot phone. when I want to check if it works fine and open Script manager again, V6 turbo.txt with only run as root checked, nothing has changed. I have to choose scrolling text value again
Someone see what I do wrong?
Kind regards
Vintiem

It works great .. Really can feel the difference ..
Thanks NeoCream

I would Highly Recommend this to anyone. Just installed it on My friends Photon. in the config we chose 2 for scroll speed, and 4 for Memory settings. The phone overall is much smoother, and webtop runs like PC, and is very smooth, it was a little laggy before the script
Note: We rebooted from the Script and the phone went into a boot loop, we pulled the battery and restarted the phone and it booted up just fine and was noticeably faster.

Zepp thanks for your continued support for the android community! I have been using v6 for some time now! With each update theres always some very useful goodies! And for those that claim it does nothing for your phone. Thats crazy. With 1gig and v6 I noticed a much more responsive phone! Im a performance freak and I have ran many tests to prove that v6 does make my mopho an even more brighter phone! So I am pretty sure of youre running the latest v6 script with everything corrected. You'll notice a major difference. And also if you're using a custom rom. Check in system/etc/int.d to see if theres pre ram/min scripts there. Delete them before running v6. And always check the.v6 script to see if it ran correctly.

I havent noticed a huge change in the homescreens, but web browsing and the webtop are smoother.
I think for higher ram devices, for the most part, it serves to smooth out everything by getting rid of glitches or stutters.
Also, over the course of time, no matter how many apps you run or load, it will always feel fresh and shouldnt ever lag.
Seems to make an noticeable improvement for me, snappy and smooth. Thanks zepp for taking it to the next level.

Same here. I was a bit apprehensive to run the script, as I've just started to wade into rooting my phone. (And running scripts, too)
But I'm happy to report that it really sped up my Photon's launcher.
FWIW, I'm running a stock ROM, rooted, with ADW as my launcher.
Smooth as butter, even with fairly intensive LWPs, like Bamboo Forest with all settings maxed out, and plenty of widgets running.

How can I increase my x10 ram?

How can I increase my x10 ram or rom to increase performance of my device to having no lags?
What can I do with running apps that I don't use which run ever and ever in background..
Sent from my X10 using xda premium
Use Ram Manager from market
Flash roms that use little ram. Or delete some background programs/apps/systemtools you don´t need via root uninstaller. But remember the X10 only has 256 MB ram and you won´t get the whole 256 to use, because android needs some and this is unavoidable. Furthermore you can use Adrenaline Boost - but be careful ! Just search Adrenaline boost in forum or in google
If i helped, don´t be shy and hit the thanks button
Download advanced task manager then in settings set auto kill level to aggressive and auto kill frequency to when screen turns off works a dream
also to save memory you can actually move apps that cannot be moved to SD with app2sd by selecting move 2 SD on titanium backup pro by long pressing on the app u wish to move
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
But if u use App2SD, make sure your SDCard - Class is fast or may some tools wouldn´t work proper. Furtermore I don´t suggest Taskkiller for newbs, or useres which don´t know what it does. If you know the Android System, you will get to know that it manages programs automatically- it freezes and closes them if memory is needed. Task killers can damage your device and further drain your battery! If it always kills apps it can crash system tools! So think twice before installing a task killer

Couple newbie questions from DAGr8's Alpha 2 ICS

1) The haptic feedback on pressing the Home button feels ever so slightly delayed compared to how it was original in GB and the other GB ROMs. Could be in my head. Anyone else experiencing this and if so, know how to fix it?
2) Apex launcher that is included in the ROM seems cool but to put widgets on the home screen it says I need to install it as a system app or have root or something. I have root of course - how do I get it as a system app?
3) When I try to install the Chrome beta browser it's giving me "Error - Error processing purchase" dialog. Any ideas on how to fix this? When google searching this problem it seems like it might be on Google's end and I should just wait it out.
4) People in the dev forum are talking about some multi-dpi fix. I didn't run that since I have no clue what that is or what they're talking about.
5) Also people are saying that the VM heap is wrong or something on this build. I have no idea what that is or how it will effect me.
Okay I think that is all for now. Thanks!

Might be a little delayed, it's a leaked release, so anything is possible. I haven't noticed it. Don't think you're going to fix it.

You move the apk to system/app using Root Explorer or another file manager that has access to the root directory.

Multi-DPI fix are for people who are running their phones with a DPI (Dots Per Inch) that is different from the stock 320 DPI. A lot of people use an LCD Density of 240 which causes some poorly (read Samsung TouchWiz apps) written apps to scale badly on screen, like the dialer. If you aren't changing your DPI then you don't have to worry about the fix. They won't hurt anything, but they're not needed for you.

I'm the wrong person to give details on how the VM Heap works, but the stock ICS leak uses 256 and people have claimed performance improvements by reducing the VM Heap to 128 or 64. I've got it at 128 and it seems to have improved performance, but I cannot say for sure.
You can change LCD Density and VM Heap with apps like ROM Toolbox. You can also move Apex to system/app with ROM Toolbox. It's a rather useful app.

[Q] Xperia Mini Pro gets sluggish after a few days of use. What to do?

Hi,
I have an Xperia Mini Pro running stock 4.1.B.0.587 with MESA kernel 3.5. I have frozen/uninstalled quite a few of the bundled applications and I have replaced the default launcher with Nova Launcher Prime. After a reboot, the phone is quite snappy and fast, no lag when redrawing and everything is working very nicely together. However, after a few hours to a day of use, it gets quite sluggish: slow redraws, animations stutter, apps block/hang for a few seconds etc.
I would like to investigate this further, but I'm not quite sure of how to proceed. One thing that I have seen is that if I go Settings->Apps->Running, after a few hours to a a day of use, there are a few applications or services which say "restarting".
Do you guys have any ideas on what's going on?
Thank you!
One think I would suggest you is to debloat your phone as much as possible and then search for more ways!

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try it one of these days. Any other ideas, guys?
Use Android Assistant (18 features) and clean the cache. Do it often, ICS really generates a lot of cache compared to GB.
Though the best thing to do would be to flash a GB rom if you want your phone to be really smooth :good:
Simply restarting the phone will do the job!
Restart it once every (two) day(s).
or
Change the minfree and ADJ settings.
EDiT: check your vfs_cache_pressure value
If it's low, set a higher setting. MESA kernel sets it to 30, which is quite low and causes lags at the end of the day.
You can try to raise it to default stock 100 and see if that helps
Code:
echo "200" > /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure;
Flash a custom ROM. Usually they last longer without lag then stock ROM.
Also another solution is, you can try my X-PLODE tweaks. I think it should really boost your phone since it's on stock ROM.
Based on my experience after flashing almost EVERY available ROM and kernel on my st15i, I can suggest:
1. Use a memory manager like Smart RAM, Autokiller Memory Optimizer etc.
2. Use a cache cleaner app and set it to clear cache once or twice a day.
3. Use an app like SystemCleanup (free) and delete any system app you don't use or like.
4. You can send apps like your custom browser (I strongly suggest Nova) or GPS app to /system/app/ via SystemCleanup.
5. Flash custom kernel (I strongly suggest LuPuS or MESA Hybrid).
6. Find a light and fast custom ROM that suits your needs and flash it.
7. Enjoy. The power of Android is in your hands !
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time and answering me.

[Solved] How can I adjust my services.jar to change OOM priority of TWlauncher?

Hello,
I'm having launcher re-draws like cray and it sets me up all the time. I'm facing it for over half a year and now I'm done with it.
Last monday I started figure it out what it could be. I did this earlier before but didn't found anything helpfull so I stopped searching for it. But now I want it to be fixed for good.
As I said, last monday I was busy figuring out what the problem is and tried some fixes like a piece of code from the supercharger script but that script only touches the standard launchers with standard names, it doesn't touch the TWlauncher. I also tried to change OOM priority with Auto Memory Manager and an init.d startup script but the launcher seems to be hard to touch. I tested the script on whatsapp instead of TWlauncher and the script is just working fine but TWlauncher seems to be hard to "teach a lesson".
So now I'm busy with decompiling SecLauncher2.apk and searched for some files that maybe reffer to interesting code but there are so many files in this apk. It's a chaos.
I asked things like this before in the Omega Jelly Bean thread here on this forum but everyone says I have to make a clean install. I did that every time when there's a new rom available so it doesn't matter. There are just to many services running in the background. But all the apps that are running on my phone are neccessary.
I hope there is a developer in here that can tell me some more about this. I really want to make it work.
I think I'm not the only one with the re-draw problem.
If u have root heres a much simpler solution
Install xposed framework, download app settings 1.5 module
Go to SecLauncher settings
And thick "keep in memory"
Solved my problem, never more had any issues

services.jar patch works for any launcher.
It doesn't look for any process name - whatever is the default launcher is automatically protected.
I did not knew that "resident" means the same so now it's locked to OOM priority 0. Didn't have any re-draw so far.
And I did used supercharger script but still got the launcer re-draws. The script also says that com.sec.android.app.launcher is NOT the home launcher. I don't know why because I only have the standard launcher.
but it's fixed now!
Thanks !!!!
