[theme][zip][hc] - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

Have a Dell Streak 5?, Have an insaitable taste for sweet honeycomb and will stop at nothing until you get some?
Well, we'll just have to wait, but in the meantime, this may help with your cravings.
Here it is. Hope everyone likes it. Built and Tested on StreakDroid 1.9.1
I would encourage you to try it on any DeOdexed ROM 351 and later; but remember:
Nandroid Backup First! Serious::At least have a flashable .zip of current framework on sdcard(ie UOT.zip) just in case!
Tested on low and high res. battery in status bar is HC and has 100 images and animations<fun>, but no numbers. I trust everyone will use UOT for their own personal battery preferences. Also incuded honeycomb font for Clocktopia/lockscreen.
As of v0.6.0, I have included a custom status bar clock that uses DroidSerif-Regular.ttf, use a 3rd party app to change to attached Clocktopia.ttf, for honeycomb effect! Anywhere serif is used, you may get clocktopia which isnt really readable on froyo, but I have checked and havent seen it used anywhere actually. I originally had monospace, but that screws up some files in root explorer text editors. If you dont want this mod, simply open the .zip as an archive and delete services.jar from framework folder, enjoy!
link to font changer free in market... https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite&feature=search_result
install font changer, creates a default directory on sdcard named .fontchanger/,copy clocktopia.ttf from next post to this directory in sdcard. when you open font changer it should scan and show you have clocktopia. I recommend unchecking quick restart in font changer settings. click on advanced, click on DroidSerif-Regular.ttf and choose to replace it with clocktopia.ttf. choose apply and reboot later, then reboot manually. (works better I think) that's it about it, when you change a font; it says it makes a back up and that you can long press on the changed font and choose to restore original. If it does not restore original font, choose to uninstall app from within font changer settings, and it will restore all original fonts.
Please let me know what you think, and I would like to see a screenie of portrait lockscreen.
Known issues: on low res/mdpi I have noticed in stock email I get large buttons for options at bottom of screen. Many images for mdpi I used hdpi where I could. These are the only 3 buttons I have seen so far, and they are actually seem much better big anyways. This Im sure can be fixed If theres enough interest. I put a lot of work and time into this.
Thats about it enjoy!
screenshots are at stock 160dpi, I use 210.
see post#97 and #99 for blue status bar clock MOD. (#97 is full theme, the other is clock Mod only.)

v0.6.3 : minor changes: changed status bar clock to Slate blue/gray blends much nicer. Added honeybee to pull down, visible @ 160 &240 dpi. Changed "Phone options" to "tablet options" changed "your phone will shut down" to "your Streak will shut down". Oh and changed a few black status bar icons to show better, like bluetooth. I think thats it for now, been looking into other things but running into dead end with my limited .java / .smali code knowledge. screenies here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16568716&postcount=125
v0.6.2: themed volume popup HUD, thought it was .xml, just a .9.png. that was easy. looks nice too
v0.6.1: volume and seek bars slimmed down and changed to green like real HC. From now on, unless I edit services.jar, the .zip in 1st post will have BLUEclock in status bar, the White Stock .zip is in post #99, if you want to revert, just flash that. More updates planned, stay tuned.
v0.6.0 Removed date from pull down and changed status bar clock font..please see first post for more info and instructions. See last two screenshots in this post for update. This is flashing services.jar, so give it 5 minutes to boot.
v0.5.9: Without carrier version only now. changed pulldown to all black so it crops right at all lcd densities. changed all mdpi lockscreen icons to standard mdpi 64px.
v0.5.8, dark blue sliders! had to edit .xml, I thought for sure they were a .9.png. Getting the hang of this. Next I think I will remove am/pm from status bar clock, might change the color too..
v0.5.7 All Black Status bar, nice new usb icon to go with that, and pull down all black with bee.
v0.5.6NoCarrier updated: removed carrier text from drop down menu. File size increased so had to host it.
v0.5.5: Both versions: mostly resized mdpi stuff including vibrate lock screen tab icon, change some menu press highlights, and changed search bar size in mdpi. NO Carrier on Lockscreen!!, still on pull down until I get it to build...Still cant find the damn large email buttons on stock email on hdpi, see know issues: not really a huge issue. Hope you all enjoy it!!
v0.5.3NoCarrier:**update: fixed no charging battery** added, no carrier in status bar. Will look into removing it elsewhere. <finally understand how to edit xml and update; not as easy as it would seem there are steps missing that I normally wouldn't think of.>
v0.5.3 changed data icons (eg. 3G, H Edge to match light blue honeycomb). [IF you ever get a system force close on startup, just pull battery and should boot normally. Maybe a good idea to clear cache after this]
v.0.5.1 changed a few icon, home icon from ginger to honeycomb, changed button to proper proportion, and changed volum bars colors to.a darker blue and removed ugly disabled button backgrounds
v0.4 White on Black Menus! Enormous thanks to TheManii for help with this. Really breaks ground to hopefully more themes/mods/etc. Thank You!
v3 uploaded.. trying glowing sound jog tabs, best I could do at the moment, should be better, but jog tab vibrate looks better with glow.
If .zip is unavailable, wait a few minutes or check back later should be updated, Thanks!

nice!!!!!thanks

sure, no prob. (well, a little hassle, but a learning experience.) looks so much better than stock. gotta have it.

Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!
Nice work Chris!
While I probably won't be installing this theme (got things the way I like em now) it looks outstanding. The Google search is a work of art. I would love to install just that on my home screen.
Keep up the great work
kraz

a little searching you could have found them.
I found these a while back,
on xda I think..
only will work on deodexed ROM I believe. backup and delete originals, rename and place new themed ones in /system/app. Set permissions to same as all other /system/apps, and reboot and they will install.
Tip: the google search one can be tricky.before moving it into system make sure its not named same as stock. after moving, rename it. If the icon changes to a stock "g" logo for the application, it wont work, this one is strange.

Geez Chris...What can't you do?!!
GoogleSearchBox looks great and works well on my Simple Streak 1.2 odexed device. No problems installing it either.
Seriously...THANK YOU!!!
kraz
I had searched for them many months ago and came up empty. forgot about it until I saw your screenies.

Holy crap! You themed EVERYTHING! Very nice work, beautiful job. I love the extra splash of color you gave even the home menu (Add, Wallpaper, Search, Settings, etc).
Here is that portrait screen cap. Looks very nice.

did the honeycomb font not stick? it should have. you also use font changer to edit Clocktopia. and the sound slider I might have to downsize a bit you can see the transparent square jog tab

You know I flashed that straight over top of my BlueStreak5 theme and I guess it didn't give me the HC font on the clock. Everything else looked great, pop up window color, scroll bar color. I did notice the volume slider on the lock screen has a bit of square halo that was only really noticeable on the super dark HC wallpaper.

Awww... when I flashed back to BlueStreak5, it didn't keep your pop window theme, power menu, home menu, etc. I was hoping it would

new update coming shortly, updates jog tabs glow, less boxxy as well

How about the battery with a percentage.

thanks, I'm learning.. if you dont like something let me know, post a screenie and I 'll see if I can tweak it.

[Request] Black task bar!

Already tired of the big white bar at the top. Anyone working on a nice black one?
i hope so too, love the gingerbread look from my nexus.
I worked on one all of yesterday evening/night (broke my ankle), and eventually got it to push without issue. After work this evening I'll be uploading it for Dev's or very knowledgeable users who know how to backup and adb recover to use.
Edit: The bar is a black/ grey gradient to still see the text. I haven't yet messed with xml's to try and change the text colors.
Here's Revision 1...AKA Tacky Edition
Please see this thread for my Gingerbread theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974112
thanks, can you post a screenshot of how it looks with the black/grey bar with the current icons?
since this is pretty much first steps of theming, maybe we can pull the icons off of gingerbread framework, those are all "optimized" for black status bar hehe.
Current screenshot is attached.
I will say that I've yet to push the new notification text colors (new services.jar), but will be testing that shortly with gingerbread icons.
I just got my hands on hdpi gingerbread icons, so I'll be testing during the day, and I'll upload it tonight (PST).
I'm planning on making a new topic and a shell script to run on the phone (or .bat on a pc) to make installation easier, and I've been messing with transparencies a bit as well, so expect a few different uploads.
Isn't the cutting edge fun?!
@synergye
How different would it be to push the file to the phone SDcard using USB mass storage and then use root explorer from the phone to move the file to the framework folder?
I tried this way and soft bricked! Don't know what I did wrong!
Any insight?
Are you deodexed? Something I forgot to put in the post above, which I believe is needed to push my deodexed framework file.
I recommend waiting until this evening(maybe sooner for my gingerbread notification bar and services.jar. Im also going to fix my instructions above to say deodexing required.

Nice! Once this has the white text im copying this over
The new theme now has a white clock, and some gingerbread thrown in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974112
any chance we can get the AT&T carrier logo removed as well? I love the black, but that weird gap would probably drive me neurotic after a bit.
I'm planning on removing it next, after adding notification transparency, and doing a bit more overall theming (thinking browser, etc).
Please note that I now have a topic open for this theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974112
thanks synergye!

[Theme] BNB For Eclipse 0.4

To begin... make a backup 1st.... not responsible for damages while left in the parking garage.. enjoy the game!
This theme was made with permission of "thebowers". It's his creation. I brought it into GB land for the X2. I don't know if I did everything he did but I can tell you that I have made image edits galore for resizing purposes and to get all the new GB images not yet themed. I have also edited the crap out of a lot of xml's so things should work 100% smoothly out of the box. I have also incorporated some inverted apps which, I had nothing to do with. Credit there goes to thebowers, ecsnead and B-Boy. I themed the Phone and I started on the other 2 but, then, I saw someone else already did pretty much the same thing. So, I just used that. No need to waste time. That would be bouchigo. You can find him on rootzwiki. I also made a few apps myself because once I got going on 0.2.2, I got carried away.
Also, I changed the boot animation. It matches the theme oh so well. Credit there goes to Versatile1 because he made it.
Before we begin, I will list all the apps I have included. For ease of use, I highly recommend getting rid of any app on the list from your phones data folder first. For example, if you downloaded Facebook from the market, remove it from your data folder. Not saying you HAVE TO, just putting it out there if you run into issues, you know how to fix them.
Also for the market... this one you do HAVE to do... First, verify that you DO NOT have a vending app in \data\app!!!!! If you do this will not install!!! You will need to uninstall updates before flashing... Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>"ALL" tab>Market>Uninstall Updates
Will it break your phone if you don't do that? No, it just won't install a market... at all!
Lastly, I have taken the time to guide every .9.png file in the framework and in every app I touched. What this means to you.... If you want to make other changes, everything will decompile and recompile without error. Of course you need to add the dependencies if your editing systemui or settings but thats a blur thing. Not something I did.
Now.. onto the part anyone actually cares about..
The theme is located here.... No.. over there ----> ok its actually back there <------
If you see any issues or think of anything else to add let me know.
Here's whats included
framework
SystemUI
Calculator
Camera
Contacts
Dialer
Phone
Facebook (Inverted)
Gallery3D
Gmail (Inverted)
Google Quick Search (Inverted)
Keyboard (updated from 2.2 to be darker)
Settings (Inverted)
GTalk (Inverted)
Market (Inverted)
Google Voice (Inverted)
Some of these apps will be called dark or black in the app drawer. Example: Facebook = Dark Facebook

Yeah its exactly the thing I did in math class...every year...
Anyways, what are the chances we could just install the apps individually? I'm really only interested in the blacked out gmail.

just open up the theme in 7zip and delete what you dont want.
No stone unturned... we had to do some smali edits on gmail to get it to work. looks good though. now i realize that is the screenshot that is missing.
I just extracted the apk and used root explorer to push it into system/app. Changed permissions, rebooted, and voila!

As long as it works and you like it, I dont care how you got it on your phone...lol
Good stuff man. I noticed a few small things that I thought I would share, nothing deal breaking or anything like that.
1.) I noticed when you're in the middle of unlocking the phone theres like a slight white bar in the unlock tab, this doesn't occur when you switch between silent and audible mode.
2.) When you're in a call and say if you're on speaker and drag down the notifications the call information is pretty hard to see maybe a lighter shade of black?
3.) Some of the press colors are still orange/blue.
4.) When downloading from a browser the status bar is blue opposed to red and you can't read what you're downloading (b on b issue).
Still one slick theme regardless! Thanks!
Very nice work xkape. Appreciate the quick turnaround for 0.4.
I noticed there is something unthemed in the blacked out gmail. When in your inbox an you check an email and click on the "labels" button that interface is not blacked out, it is black type on a white bg. When you scroll on this screen the entire screen blacks out and you cannot read your labels. Not a deal breaker by any means but I am just throwing it out there.
Sounds like the colorchachehint is ok (thats what makes it black when you scroll) but the bg and text need to be switched. I'll take a look at that.

1) Should be an easy fix
2) Just saw that. I tested to see if it was in frame or phone and im pretty sure I just missed it in the framework. I'll find it.
3) Theres just so many of the damn things. Hard to get em all.
4) Never used the stock browser before. I use Dolphin HD. So, this one probably won't get fixed.
I'm adding one... in the phone when you are looking at a specific number in recent. if you click on it for "call details" that screen needs fixed. I think Im also going to darken the text of the unselected tabs. I thought the grey I chose was darker than that.
And by the way.. thank you both for pointing those out to me. I can't fix the theme and make it better if I don't know it needs to be.
I use boat browser mini.
I did some investigationg into the ongoing black on black issue in the status bar. Each app sets that seperately. The only way to fix that would be to either a) make the whole things white again with black text or b) edit each app that points at a black color instead of a white one for text. I will edit it for phone app and for dolphin.
Nice theme, I haven't found anything I don't like. The boot animation is sweet too.
I've never been a fan of just black and white themes, but this looks very tasteful. I'll give this a shot after flashing Eclipse .4 later!
triton, I never was either. In fact, I had never even used BNB. But, I came to feel that colorized themes just didnt work for me anymore. So I decided Id use BNB and edit up to the X2.
Although, I must admit, I am a sucker for those neon themes in Blue or Red.

Eh, the neon themes are ok, but I'm picky about what themes I have on my device. This one you made looks great though!
neon image i just made right quick.
I was thinking this could take the place of the buttons.. for example.
thanks triton!
I've got a list from peoples feedback of a few imperfections here and there. I'll be fixing those real soon as well.
I ran into an issue with the app shortcuts on my home screen not moving to delete. They were frozen. I could add them to the homepage but couldn't delete. I flashed eclipse.4 and everything is working correctly now. I did install that speedy zip yesterday. Not sure if that was the issue or not. Would that be launcher issue or something in the theme zip?

[Q][ST15i/ICS]Status Bar: Battery/Transparency

Hi Guys,
Before I begin, I'd like to shoutout to all the great devs here in XDA who regularly updates us with their mods while living their own busy lives.
I'm using a ST15i on stock ICS and managed to customize it by reading around. I've rooted my phone from GB to ICS and flashed custom zips to add or modify certain functions and changed how it looks to give it a different feel and to better suit my taste. I've reached a point where I can't modify it anymore due to lack of knowledge and training. And now I'm here.
Can anyone point me on how to change the transparency of the status bar, change the battery icon of my choice on my ST15i running on stock ICS? Also, can you help me in reverting to the stock icon fron "No available network"? All the info I found didn't help me. Tried the kitched but that didn't work for me either. I'd rather learn how rather than be spoonfed.
This is my first time posting here, so go easy on me.
Thanks!
I don't think a transparent statusbar is possible in ICS. In earlier versions, it was just a case of making the statusbar background itself transparent.
But Google have made it harder to do with later versions.
To change the battery icon, you just need to change the png files in one of the drawable folders in either framework-res.apk or SystemUI.apk. With the Mini on ICS, it's most likely drawable-mdpi in SystemUI.apk.
If you want to change how the icon works, going from changing every 10% to every 1% for example, then you need to decompile the app and edit some xml.
It's a little long-winded, but it's simple enough and I'm always happy to help. The battery icon mod was the first one I found out how to do and I spent months trying to figure it out. Literally.
It's worth checking out Tickle My Android from the link in my signature. It can do the battery mod for you, if you want it to, and can handle all the decompiling and recompiling as well actually taking apps off your phone to begin with.
Not sure what you meant about reverting icons..is it possible you can provide a screenshot of what you want to change?

Hey there, Ticklefish! Thank you for taking the time to reply. You're one of my favorite devs here in xda.
Could you take a quick peek at this? There's an update on his notification toggle for a transparent status bar so I got me thinking whether this was possible or not. As for the battery, I'll still have to search for the battery icon I'm fancying about or I might have to create it from scratch. Sorry, I forgot to mention this but I tried to use your tool. I just didn't know how the battery icons would look like that's why I chickened out at the last moment. Instead I used it to create a zip to flash a stock SystemUI.apk to remove the Notification Toggles which I had extracted from an earlier CWM backup (Can't find an uninstaller. I figured all I needed was stock to remove it). Great tool, by the way.
I can't post any screenshots at the moment since I haven't been able to add that feature to my Mini yet. So I'll try my best to explain what I meant about reverting the network icon. If you would notice whenever you lose the network signal an icon appears on the notification bar? Well mine used to be color grey and had a yellow exclamation point beside it. Now it's all red. This might not be an issue for some but it's pretty hard on the eyes. I'd like to have the old one back.
Just to give you an idea, I'd like to improve my Mini's functionality and aesthetics while keeping it as close to stock as possible. So far I've managed to:
-Insert Reboot/Reboot to Recovery
-Use Wavelock
-Use Xperia S apps (Alarm, Callscreen, Clock, Conversation, Contacts, Font, Home, Keyboard, Phonebook & Walkman)
-Supercharge
-Notification Toggles (which I removed)
Changing the status bar and reverting to stock icon for no network signal is next on my list.

Well, it might be possible. There's a lot that can be done if you just know how. I'll have a look at a transparent status bar soon. It was incredibly simple to do on early GB so hopefully it can be done on ICS as well.
There are a lot of battery icons out there. If you find the ones you want, TMA can put them into your app for you, or I can tell you how to do it manually.
As for the icons that come with TMA, you can see what they look like on the thread. Some look better on HDPI, and our phones are MDPI, but the tool can backup your original app so you can just try whichever one you want without being in danger of losing anything.
Changing that icon should be pretty simple. All you need to do is find out which image file it is and change it. Either by downloading one of the GB roms here and taking the new image file out of that, or by using a graphics program and just recolouring it yourself. If you're doing that, and if you're in a creative mood, you could even redesign the icon completely..
Thanks for the kind words, btw. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know!

OK, I won't hold back in asking for assistance anymore.
I've attached a screenie of the icon problem I'm facing right now. If you would look at the upper lefthand corner, it's all red. I wonder if it's the same for the other ST15i Stock ICS users. It' used to be grey with a yellow exclamation point or something like that (can't recall how it exactly looked like but, yeah, something like that). Now for the battery icon, I'm fancying the Purple Android Battery Icon in TMA, only in green and shouldn't mess with the original height of the status bar. I've cooked a battery icon using the kitchen and it messed the height of the status bar. Could you also point how to manually change the battery icon? I'm trying to do it myself so I won't be asking around here anymore. I think others will benefit from it, too.
The stock SystemUI.apk that I've attached came from a stock version of my ST15i's ICS. I wondering if the network icon is found in the framework-res.apk, not in the SystemUI.apk. Since I've flashed the stock one and managed to remove the Notification Toggles but Red icon is still there.
Hopefully, you can find something with the transparency of the status bar. Thanks for all the help!

That icon might be in framework-res.apk but I suspect it's SystemUI.apk. That's where most of those things are. This is a stock icon so flashing a stock system app won't do anything to change it. If you want, you can change the icon yourself by loading the png into a graphics program and messing around with it. If you want it to be grey and yellow, then you can make it grey and yellow.
Battery icons won't change the height of the statusbar. Android automatically scales images to the right size. As long as they're in the right folder. The Mini and Mini Pro both keep their images in drawable-mdpi for ICS. If images are put into drawable-ldpi, drawable-hdpi or even drawable-xhdpi (which would be insane on such a small screen), Android will scale them for a low, high, or extra high resolution screen. Which will mess the statusbar height. Your battery icons can be any height you like, they just have to go in the right place.
By the way...Tickle My Android will automatically put them in the right place. Just saying...
To change battery icons manually, you need to use apktool or a utility that uses apktool to decompile framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Hey....Tickle My Android uses apktool...(subtle, ain't I?)
Then find the battery icons in whichever drawable folder they're in. They might be in more than one but that's not an issue. Replace them with ones you want.
If you're changing how often they change, you'll need to edit the xml files in the layout folder. If you got your icons from a kitchen, they should have come with the right xml files. In fact, if you've got a version of the Purple Android icons, you could use TMA to put those on first and then change them to the icons you want. That'll ensure you get the right xml files.
Then you use apktool to recompile the apps you changed. Make a copy of the original app, use 7zip to copy the res folder from the recompiled app into the copied one (this will ensure it's signed correctly), extract resources.arsc from the recompiled app, add that to the copied one at store levels of compression and..well, that's it.
The copied app is now ready to be put back onto your phone.
Eyes glazing over? Brain leaking out of the ears? I know it sounds complicated but it's quite simple once you've done it a few times. It can get a bit tedious if you're doing it a lot....which is why I wrote Tickle My Android in the first place.

[THEME][GB] Utilitarian ICS Theme for DSC (Work has stopped)

Hello everybody, this is my first theme, and I hope it's a good enough product for XDA and the Streak 5 community!
I have been forced by circumstances to stop all hobby projects for some time, and unfortunately this includes this theme. If anyone has the time and wants to continue work on this theme, or just to make a theme starting from this one, he/she is free to do so, as long as the people I have thanked here in the thread as well as myself are credited. Once again, thank you _n0p_ for a good ROM and I apologize for leaving my work unfinished.
Before I start, I want to thank _2bad4u_, nickshertzer and tenorntex for letting me use PNG's from their MattedBlues theme, the original MattedBlues theme creators for their theme, Google for a much improved interface for Android after version 4.0, LG for their smart (IMO) mod of white popups and backgrounds, and _n0p_ most for the most complete ROM for Streak, and the best performing one. (_n0p_, if you could add longpress-back-key-to-kill-app functionality from CM in DSC, I'll owe you a big case of beer.)
NOTE
This theme is made for DSC (1.5 currently) running in MDPI Portrait. I didn't test extensively in Landscape, but so far I didn't find any bugs that weren't already there in Portrait, so I guess it's ok. I have NOT tested any other GB ROM, DSC version, or other DPI, and I DO NOT guarantee that it will work if you flash this theme on anything other than DSC 1.5.
Installation Instructions
I am a noob with the more complicated stuff, so I went for the simplest solution I could find. In post #3 are .zip files that contain the framework, systemui and settings app. Just flash the suitable zip using Streakmod Recovery and you're good to go. USE ONLY ONE ZIP. The difference between them is explained in the Bugs post.
DESCRIPTION
As some of you probably agree, stock GB looks like crap, stock ICS looks much better. So I started making a theme for DSC, my ROM of choice, that would fulfill (most of) my aesthetic and functional ideals. However, this is an ICS-inspired theme, not an attempt to replicate that interface style, so please don't ask me to copy ICS, because that's not what I'm trying to do. I follow my own guidelines (listed below) when doing this theme, and some of them are actually the opposite of stock ICS.
Main Features
Starting from the ICS look, I want the theme to have the following characteristics:
MDPI base, because on our device, in HDPI, a lot of apps take too much screen space with interface elements, and this lowers the amount of useful information on screen
All white popups (windows, dialogs, popup menus, toasts) with black text, because IMO black on white is easier to see in direct sunlight , given the same screen brightness and text size, and we don't have LED screens so the battery drain isn't any higher. Also, popups should be obvious and clearly visible, either because they were brought up by the user, or because they were brought up by Android and contain useful information
Blue text (on black) for titles, hints and other text that can't be interacted with (pressed, copied), to better distinguish from black or white text, that can be copied, pressed or otherwise interacted with
Clear text hierarchy: Main (application) title (largest), Category title (large), Main text, buttons (medium), subtext/note/description (small)
Secondary modifications
There is also a number of smaller scale modifications, that include but are not limited to
Bigger text on buttons, because MDPI makes it too small on our device
Bigger text in Recent Applications, because it takes up the whole screen anyway
Thin volume/seek bars, ICS Style, with handle (not in the Music app, because the app isn't themed)
Modded Settings app for ICS Icons
Modded Quick Toggles from the DSC ROM to suit the theme, added overscroll effect
Modded gradient background
ICS notification icons
New menu popup icons
Replaced radio buttons with check buttons, for consistency
Increased text size in popup menus to Medium (from small), decreased text size from the "more" popup menu to Medium (from large). (Why were they different in stock GB?? It's basically the same menu!)
Hidden the Notifications and Ongoing titles from Notifications (but not the separators), because they are useless, every Android user knows which is which, and the notifications are already full of text most of the time
more stuff I don't remember now but you'll find out!
SCREENSHOTS
KNOWN BUGS
I have modified quite a few things for this theme, so a few bugs are to be expected. Here are listed the known bugs, and below I attached screenshots.
1. The stock phone app has some trouble with backgrounds other than black, as far as I can tell. In the screenshots you see a black square behind the "call" icon in the call log. It can be fixed using a non-transparent icon that covers that entire space, but since I'm using exDialer (MIUI fan!) with the white ICS theme, this fix was low on my priority list. I will add it in a later version for those who want the stock phone app, but I recommend you use another dialer/contacts app if the theme is important, because I will not theme other apps than the ones already themed. I don't have a lot of time and I've already worked more than I wanted to do this theme.
2. The stock alarm clock app also has problems with the gradient background. The alarm times are not visible in portrait, only in landscape (it's visible in the screenshots). You can turn the alarms on and off, and if you press the bugged area where the alarm time used to be, it still takes you to the alarm edit screen, where there are no bugs, so it's only the alarm selection screen that has bugs. I won't be theming this app either, so again I suggest using a different alarm app if you want to have the gradient background.
3. The email app overlaps 1 bigger and 1 smaller activity title bar. I don't know why, and I haven't used the stock theme since I started working on this one to know if the problem was there before. Again, I won't be theming this app either, so there probably won't be any fixes coming from me.
4. Not really a bug, but in some apps the popup menus use some of their own icons and some of the icons from the framework you have installed. In most cases they won't be the same and will look like crap together, and there's no fix (that I know of) other than theming all the other apps (which I won't do). Below is a screenshot of the issue in Terminal Emulator.
5. Mismatched light bottom popup. I couldn't track down the problem, and now I won't be able to.
BUG FIXES
A fix for the clock and phone, for those who do not want to use alternate phone or clock apps, is to eliminate the gradient background and revert to the stock black background. Until I find an alternative fix, I will attach 2 zips for each release version, a black background and a gradient background. Other than that there is no difference between them.
BUG REPORTING
If you find a bug, either in stock apps or in other apps, and you are sure it's my theme that causes the problem and not a problem with the app itself, then please report here. A screenshot would be most helpful as well. Bugs include white on white, black on black or grey on grey text (popups aren't perfectly white, so white text could still be visible, and black text should be visible on grey popups)
Releases
Releases
Current version: 0.6b for DSC 1.5
v0.6b changelog:
-Grey panel_background png, used for USSD popup and Root Explorer permissions popup, for example, is now white
-minor color modifications
-bottom part of popup fixed
As stated in the Bugs post, "gradient_background_vXX.zip" is the full theme, while "black_background_vXX.zip" uses the stock black background to eliminate the phone and alarm clock bugs. Flash either one using Streakmod, over DSC 1.5.
Great job, i like it, make's wanna come back to dsc. Because it's a great rom, and now it's looking like ics. Great job.

Thanks man. Now I regret my decision a little, it's a lot of work to do a theme, more than I thought. I hope people like it.
Please make it for longhorn2.9.3. pls
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Both framework-res and systemUI are missing META-INF folder with manifest. This will cause system to bootloop (no rights in system) right from start, or if you are lucky, after factory reset
Simply copy that folder from original.
--
Attached - quickly changed manifest and install script of black background version, works for me.

Fixed! It always booted fine for me, so I never checked, I completely forgot. Thanks! I'll be using your install procedure from now on.
Edit: I just tested and saw the message the install script shows. Very cool, thank you. I always wanted something like that!

I'm sorry, but to port the theme to CM based ROMs is like starting over, as far as I know. I need to take a look at it to be sure. It's too much to do for the little time I have at the moment. Maybe I'll look into it once the theme goes into a more final stage. Right now I'm trying to track down all the bugs and make the last few popups white.
Sorry, i forgot to mention that you need to also copy AndroidManifest.xml from source.
I will try to diff and create a zip mod for your theme.
This will free us from recreating the theme for framework/system apps changes.

[MOD][THEME][CYANMOBILE][CM7] Jelly Bean inspired Theme

Hi!
I made a Jelly Bean inspired Theme for the new rom: CyanMobile eXperience [2.3.8][MB526]
Instructions:
- download the file
- copy to your SD Card
- install it with File Manager
- go to ThemeChooser, and apply
- ignore the warning, apply anyway
- REBOOT!!!
- after that, just use Your Phone!
If You find some bugs, errors or something, just report me here in post, or send me a private message! If You can, make a screenshot, so it is easier to find, what is the problem!
There are two different files, one for CyanMobile Experience, and one for "pure" CM7.
If You use some of CM7 version, than download: JBT v1.2
If You use CyanMobile Experience, than download: JBTEX v1.1
Here are a lot of screenshot for CM7 version and here for CyanMobile !
If You have any question, suggestion, support, or anything else, just find the way to do it!
hi,
it looks really nice but the system ui stat icons for off (e.x.com_android_systemui_stat_2g3g_off.png) are to dark, i can see it on the status bar is it possible to make it brighter?
the signal png never go blue and i have a H connection.
i use the maniac cm7 rom.
thnaks for your work
smoky
I updated the Theme, You can download here: JBT v1.1
Now the power widget OFF color is the same, as the icons on the statusbar. It is more visible on Sunshine
Edit: At ThemeChooser, it's no preview screen. It's a windows bug.
Edit_2: The H connection problem: I don't know, what is the problem, I tryed it now, and at me everything looks good. Anyone else, who has the problem, that the signal bars don't go blue? (see attached file below)
plzz....support mdpi
thanks
MDPI
It's difficult, to support MDPI size. I made this theme for my Defy, an it's HDPI, so the theme is also HDPI ONLY!
And why? Because when I change something, I can verify that looks good, it fits, the color or something is good or not.
Unfortunately I don't have any phone with mdpi screen, so I can't test. That is the reason for HDPI only.
Hi there, I'm using it on my Defy+ (with CMX) atm, and I love it.
Thank you
I have, one simple question thou. I happen to have a little bit diffrent color (cyan) than the one your screenshoot (lightblue).
All I found was how to change color of diffrent items, or global font color, but...
Is there easy way to change the whole color setup so it would look exactly like on the screenshoot? Oh, and btw, may I know the hex code for that lightblue color of yours?

Hi!
Ideally the color change automatically, but in CMX I find this bug too, but for me was just the lockscreen, what doesn't changed the color. If You go to Settings (I use now euroskank, so sorry, if I don't remember exactly where You sould go), CyanMobile Settings - Interface tweaks - Status bar tweaks - here You find a lot of "xyz color" , and the hex code is the right color ( ff33b5e5 ), just the system can't change. Just choose the option, that you want to change the color, then pick in the middle of the color circle, and it will be change!
The colors, what I used, is the same as find HERE, but what You looking for is: 33b5e5 !
Thanks, looks great
Great theme, could you change the color text of the "state" of the sms? I mean, Sent at 13:28, because I use the black wallpaper in mms.apk, and the color text is black, so I can't see it, im using CM7, thanks.
Thanks for reporting, I changed the color to blue. The new version have some minor updates too.
Download:
JBT v1.2
JBTEX v1.1
I changed the files in the first post too.

i have wildfire ( ldpi ) and its good theme for my phone
but a problem with program |: phone.apk
the numbers are very big in dialer and are not fit wiz screen
and i think beautiful and smaller signal bars can make the theme more awsome
nice.
Thanks!
Change the color for incoming notification. Blue on black is hard to read.
