(Status 0)
A.just reflash it and the error will go away on its own

I went through the steps and now phone is off and wont turn on. When connected QHSUSB_DLOAD in device manager.
Do we need to have the QHSUSB_DLOAD drivers for this exploit to work?
Thanks ahead of time.
EDIT: Did a battery pull and started over from begining. We now have S-Off!!!!! Failed to install CWM but I will install TWRP

Does Amon Recovery work? If so, can we get instructions for that? If not, instructions for CWM.
Thanks,
Mike

Oh okay, I failed.

When I did that it just came up with a list of commands

If your phone wont turn on you probably dont have your fastboot drivers installed. Do that first
AS for amon RA recovery that hasent been built for the shooter yet. If you want cmw just keep running the revolutionary application and it will ask if you want it to flash CMW

So that means that you should opt out of the CWM install and install TWRP after doing s-off? Would be nice if we had full instructions: including what to select/install during the revolutionary exe.

Exact same situation here.
Edit: Just saw the post above that CWM isn't working yet.

I flashed this through fastboot and it appeared to work. It won't boot into the recovery though. Are there some steps I'm missing?

beta key
I have tried to enter in the beta key oh about 20 time but it keeps saying invalid press almost and key to abort anyone else having this problem ?

Revolutionary Users/Devs/Testers

Alright everyone, for those of you having issues to revolution on your Evo 3d and flooding the irc I figured id start this to compile everything.
Things I have noticed.
1. yes after the install your device to attempt a hands free activation, don't freak when is say checking for firmware update,it wont find anything!
2. You may have to do a battery pull after the initial flash/install. On Mine, the recovery did not install! Problem will be worked out im sure, this is a beta AND teamwin has their own recovery going on as well.
[ I have found the reason why the recovery is not installed is simply because clockwork is not support on the shooter yet.Do install a recovery use team wins recovery image and directions which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192077
Here is a simplistic break down on how to do this,I am not responsible for your actions!
Download the .img file found in the thread, make sure you also download the fastboot.exe and place it in the same folder as ADB for easy access. Once that is done, reboot while holding down your power + volume down button!
Fastboot menu will come up,the command you need it
fastboot flash recovery (location of file).img
For me it was fastboot flash recovery C:\Downloads\durka.img yes I renamed it durka because I dont like long names]
3. If you are having issues getting your serial number, connect it to ADB and do adb get-serialno
4. If you cannot get root, you will have to download busybox by stericson on the market. I had to manually sign into my gmail accounts so remember your passes!
[This is wrong,if you do not have root you need to have the teamwin recovery installed and you need to flash the superuser.zip file found on the forums. If you are having issues installing, make sure signature verification is unchecked, then once reboot install busybox]
All apps that I have that require root are working for me, just waiting on a deodexed rom. Even SetCPU is working, but I dont have the custom kernel installed, which could actually be easily doable now!
And I leave the thread to y'all
Well, I can probably help troubleshoot. Rooted and installed teamwin recovery first try. Doing a nandroid backup now.
I can also help people troubleshoot, I am also rooted and have teamwin recovery going!
N e 1 kno how to do this with a mac?
D3VO
Rooted and recoveried on first try. Doing my compressed NAND backup now. (I like the fact that it can be compressed...but it's slow as hell lol)
Yeah, I was a tad concerned at first about the hands-free activation notice, but everything was smooth like buttah... Thank god I remembered my passwords!
My issues:
First try: I got all the way to the part where the phone is taken to hboot and fastboot usb is selected. I was getting a red X for the driver not being installed bc I didn't have HTC Sync installed, so I cancelled revolutionary, rebooted my phone, installed htc sync on my pc, and tried again...
Now, after rebooting both my phone and the pc, I can't get past the initial "Acquiring Root" step.

only issue I've found is that Titanium Backup refuses to work on my phone.
yes, I flashed the SU package found here, and also tried the Busybox installer from the market.
besides that, everything's working great, already nandroided my stock setup and my WiMax partition while waiting for the ROMs to drop!

In the new sdk adb is in platform-tools folder, so here's what I did. I moved fastboot and twrp recovery to platform-tools folder, renamed the recovery image to recovery.img and pressed shift while right clicking on the platform-tools folder and choose open command prompt(or window) here. Then just type flasboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter. Worked for me.
I see what you did...you have to type "fastboot flash recovery nameofrecoveryhere.img" and it will work. Make sure the recovery image is in the same folder as fastboot.

Did you unroot the temp root before installing Revolutionary? This might be the cause because attn1 from AlphaRev told me to unroot and factory reset to get rid of all the temp root stuff before running Revolutionary.

[Q] Please help this noob! (flashing custom recovery)

Okay, here we go. I am new to rooting and I have already unlocked the bootloader on my device (HTC Evo 4G LTE). It still has S-on. After I unlocked my bootloader, I continued on to flash TWRP Recvovery onto my phone using fastboot. My phone does not have an SD card. However, no matter how many times I download the newest version of TWRP or rename the file or change the directory in the command prompt...it says "error: cannot load recovery image". When I attempt to restart in recovery mode, I get this red triangle with an explanation point! I have tried over and over again, but since I cant flash this recovery, i have an unlocked bootloader for practically no reason. I need to get past this step in order to start flashing custom ROM's. I even used RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter. After i click "Root Me" it puts my device into fastboot and attempts to submit the unlock token to HTCDev.com even though I already did that! I am stuck :crying:
Go here and download the recovery to your ADB tools folder.
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/jewel/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.0-jewel.img
You can rename the file "twrp" without the quotation marks. Make sure the file doesn't have an extra img extension or it won't work. Once you do this reboot your phone to the bootloader. Connect your phone to your computer via USB cable. You should see the word Fastboot in red highlights change to Fastboot USB. Open up ADB and type "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" (without quotation marks) then press enter. At this point TWRP recovery should be installed on your phone.
If these are the steps you have followed, disregard.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
Thank You for Replying Good Sir!
1)when i download any twrp file and try to open it on my computer, it says "the disc image file is corrupted"
2)when i attempt to open ADB , it flashes up then off. I cant read what it says
3)i entered the command in the command prompt and it just says waiting for device

Download this extract it to your desktop and run your commands from that folder by pressing shift and right clicking on an empty spot inside the folder and choose open cmd window here.
There is a readme.txt inside follow the instructions on how to fastboot flash twrp (Copy and paste is the easiest way to do this that way there are no typo's)
Use v2.4.1.0 if you are on the latest OTA
Use v2.3.1.0 otherwise
idk whats wrong!!
I did exactly as you said, yet the command prompt just says waiting for device. I'm not sure what to do anymore because regardless of following these instructions, I CANT FLASH TWRP RECOVERY TO MY PHONE. I believe the problem is with my phone but Im running out of options. its beginning to look like I unlocked my bootloader for nothing :/

[HOW-TO] Install a Custom Recovery and Root Device [RevOne/Moonshine]

Here is a simple, easy guide to install a custom recovery and root your device after achieving S-Off using the RevOne method.
**Moonshine installs all the SU/busybox binaries needed for root. So if you merely want a custom recovery you can follow this guide up to Step 7.**
Takes less than 5 minutes and is really easy. First, go to one of these threads and download either classic or touch CWM CWM Recovery or TWRP if you so prefer TWRP Recovery
Step 1. Rename recovery file recovery.img *Note: If using Win7 or 8 it hides known file extensions by default. Take care to not rename the file to "recovery.img.img"*
Step 2. Move file to your folder containing fastboot.exe on your computer
Step 3. Make sure phone is plugged in to USB port and USB debugging is turned on.
Step 4. Open a command prompt and type in: adb devices
Step 5. If device is listed type: adb reboot bootloader
Step 6. Using the command prompt, cd to the directory that has your fastboot.exe and recovery file *example: cd C:\sdk\
Step 7. Once in the bootloader type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step 8. If everything goes as it should, the recovery should be installed. On the bootloader screen you are currently on navigate to and select the BOOTLOADER option. Once it takes you to the new screen, navigate to and select RECOVERY
Step 9. Once it boots into recovery, select reboot now. It will prompt you to root the device. Select Yes.
Step 10. Phone will reboot. You now have a custom recovery and are rooted. Go to the play store and download either SuperUser or SuperSU. I prefer SuperSU, but it is entirely up to you.

Enjoy!!
Really nice guide. Thanks for writing this. It's also exactly the same steps one would use for TWRP, if someone is wondering about that. Just use the TWRP file and rename to recovery.img.

I've done this a 100 times but for some reason I'm getting the error "error: cannot load 'recovery.img'".
What's going on?
I did the RevOne method yesterday.
Edit, it happened with both CWM and TWRP.
After the RevOne method, my phone says **UNLOCKED** and S-Off, however is it possible that I'm not Unlocked?
Edit 2, what's really weird is that last night, I used the "All-in-one Toolkit" to flash the TWRP recovery and it worked just fine. I'm actually in the TWRP recovery right now. And then once I rebooted from recovery, it did NOT ask me to root/install SU.

Do you use Win7 or 8? By default it hides known file extensions. So if you renamed it to "recovery.img" it might actually be "recovery.img.img".
Also I believe the all in one kit installs the SU binaries for you... I wouldn't know as I don't use one clicks or kits.

if you want root all you gotta do is download amon ra 3.1.6 and flash it via fastboot....in that recovery you will see a developers option (advanced options) select that and inside it youll see install su & superuser...once you do that you are rooted bud
Yeah, the toolkit is... ummm... less than optimum.
Remember you don't even have to flash Amon Ra, or any other recovery... just download and unzip into your adb/fastboot directory, then reboot into hboot and start fastboot and enter:
fastboot boot recovery.img (replace "recovery.img" with the img name from the Amon Ra ZIP file)
then use the options in Amon Ra to install SuperSU (root) from there you can update to the latest version after it is installed.

If your bootloader is unlocked already, then it is super simple because you are already unlocked and therefore have working ADB...
1) Just download a recovery, CWM, TWRP, or Amon Ra
2) Extract the ZIP to your [adb sdk directory]\platform-tools\ directory (or mini-adb if you went that route)
3) Download the latest SuperSU here: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
4) Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip to the root of your SD Card
5) On your PC open a command prompt in your adb directory
6) type "adb reboot bootloader", wait for it to complete and start fastboot
7) type "fastboot boot recovery.img" (substitute the name of the img file from the recovery zip for recovery.img)
8) Install/flash (depending on recovery) and find the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip file and install/flash it
9) reboot
10) done, enjoy root

[[ SOLVED ]] Help! Device Not Found

[[ SOLVED ]]
I was trying to flash a rom and I did wrong.
The phone got stuck on the white HTC screen.
I'm trying to get it back, the problem is that when I connect to the pc is not recognized. I installed SDK Tools, adb, drivers and all.
All In One Toolkit run and try to flash the boot.img but it says "error: device not found"
I run adb commands but it says the same thing, "error: device not found"
I tried it with Venom Flasher but I can not solve.
I uninstalled and went back to install the drivers, but I still have the same result, I run out of options.
When I turn the phone enters fastboot, I can access the recovery, but the phone at this time does not rom, dead.
By mistake I went to lock the bootloader but today I unlock it again with the All In One Toolkit and the bin file, so do not understand why if the file could flasher to unlock the bootloader again, but when trying to flash the boot.img or execute commands like: adb devices, adb reboot bootloader throws the error "device not found"
I appreciate it can help me ...

ADB commands are only recognized in recovery or when system is running. re-unlock your bootloader first. you can reboot into bootloader by pressing and holding power & volume-down button. navigate using volume buttons and enter fastboot by pressing power button. Now you can flash boot.img with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" or using any One X+ compatible toolkit. If it doesn't work, try installing latest HTC sync on your computer to get latest drivers. you can uninstall htc sync later again, the drivers will remain installed.
Here's a guide how you can setup adb/fastboot on cour computer, also contains useful information for beginners: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213910

Yeah, try doing that. I locked boot loader again but still had no results. What I did right now was "fastboot flash boot boot.img" says ok, but just gets stuck on the white screen. The phone right now has no information, nothing. I have in my pc folder with the rom that was installed (zip with boot.img) I have the latest version of clockworkmode.

Did you do a wipe in before flashing the new rom?
Anyway you can copy a new rom.zip onto your phone using "adb sideload rom.zip" or "adb push rom.zip /data/media/0" while you're in recovery. Then do a full wipe first, flash rom and don't forget to flash boot.img.

Thanks for your help...
I cant flash zip file, its says "error: device not found".
I put the zip file in adb folder, then "adb sideload filename.zip"
Do not know if I'm doing well, I turn on the phone in recovery mode, then with the volume keys I go to "install zip" option then "install zip from sideload" then run the command I get the error.

ADB may take some time to recognize your device in recovery. Try "adb devices" first and if it isn't listed as in recovery or sideload, wait some minutes and try again. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes though.
But you have installed latest drivers?

Your phone needs to be in recognized as in sideload mode in order to use adb sideload. when recognized in recovery, try "adb push rom.zip /data/media/0", this will copy your rom onto your phones internal memory. Depending on rom size, this may take some minutes and there's no progress bar/display, so give it some time, 10 min should be enough.
