Chainfire 3d for tegra games? - HTC EVO 3D

Chainfire 3d with an s-off evo3d...does it work to play tegra 2 games?
Thanks

yes it works perfectly, just install the app, install the driver and let it reboot(the phone will appear to be frozen with a black screen and the capacitive buttons will be on, just let it sit for about 5 minutes then pull the battery) i have been playing a lot of thd games since s-off was achieved

Battery pulls make me nervous. Is it required?
So does this make all the tegra2 games show up in the market or do you have to track them down elsewhere?

Is Riptide in the market typically for tegra based phones? If so then it didn't show up for me after I installed everything and did the market fix.
I had to track it down. It does work flawlessly though after installing the desireHD shaders and the NVIDIA plugin.

Why? Aside from having to remove that goddamned battery cover who cares? Besides, I figure after removing it enough it will wear down the tabs a little and come off a tad easier.

Because He was talking about while installing a driver pulling the battery, That sounds like a recipe for a brick. I know if you do a battery pull while flashing a radio thats one of the things that can happen.

does anyone have links to the drivers that need to be installed?

The drivers are located in the Chainfire3D app!

Works for our hummingbird, don't see why it wouldn't work for a newer phone

Can someone explain to me on how to install the shaders, I tried installing them but riptide gp wont play correctly

Has anyone tried playing Dungeon Defenders with it?
I've got Dungeon Defenders using the Nvidia plugin and all the textures are messed up.

yes it is required, if you don't pull it the phone will not turn off until you do. I have tried Galaxy on fire 2 thd, riptide, pinball thd, all of them have worked perfectly. Since these games are blocked on the 3VO market, simply go to 4shared and search for the game(ie: riptide.apk)

I couldnt get bang bang racing to work. Kept saying I didn't meet the minimum requirements. Hmm...

thats why i created this thread. hardware is different a bit so i expected some trouble...although the o3d didnt had alot of tegra2 problems
i hope this is fixable keep the updates coming

lmao.. sorry, but no, that will not brick a phone... try it... But yes on radio... Flash radio and bootloader only as needed.
Anyways...
Im here to ask if theres any upscale benefit from the plugins... He [the developer] cannot link the plugins, but i have them...
*libGLEMU_QUALCOMM.zip
*libGLEMU_NVIDIA.zip
*libGLEMU_POWERVR.zip
these each contain a .so file...
I have installed them all, but am wondering which I should default, PowerVR, or Nvidia. As far as I know, PowerVR is something to do with Tegra2, perhaps more efficient than the Nvidia T2.so ? Idk. Someone here knows... Tell us.
here is all 3... Unzip the first file, keep the .so files in the zip, and load them in CF3D (as .zips)

Has anyone else tried Galaxy on Fire 2 THD? I tried to install the SD files via wifi and 3G but kept on receiving read errors so I installed some SD files that I found on a file hosting site that claimed to be for the THD version.
I then ran the app but it's not displaying properly. It's not black and white but it's definitely unplayable with some garbled textures and missing objects like the menu. I'm pretty sure that I installed Chainfire correctly because Riptide works flawlessly with the NVIDIA plugin.

I installed the demo from the marketplace. everything installed fine for me and I was playing as soon as the Game content downloaded. (570mbs worth)
it plays smooth for the most part with all the bells and whistles turned on. chops in some spots, moving the slider down to medium during heavy screen action fixed it though, and still looked damn good.
Tegra2 required my ass! lol

Glad you got it working! I am still having problems... I successfully downloaded the SD files off WIFI and I can't see any asteroids on the first mining mission. I'll play around with the settings a bit and see if I can improve things.
update: Okay, on occasion the asteroids do show up on rare random instances when I start the app. However each time this happens, the game runs like crap and then shuts down with an error and before I can read the problem, my phone reboots.. ARGH!

Are you guys getting these through the market or do you have to go on their website?
They are purchased through the gameloft site, not the market
However, keep a copy of the downloaded files. I did a factory reset and the web site doesn't list them as part of my downloads. Best to buy games from the market, I guess. Gameloft wants a bit more info than my time is worth, or no doubt I could get it fixed.

Since they don't have an option for AT&T, what carrier do you select when you buy the game from the web site? Or does it matter? thanks
@NFHimself modern combat doesnt work from me, i got a link from the gameloft supoort service, since the game just closes after i skip the video
Bought black pegasus from website. Worked for me. Modern combats in the market now

After messing with me phone a bit, the whole re download part of gameloft is screwy for my purchases, I don't know what firmware I bought what with, and the site detects your phone to determine what games you are allowed to get. Not sure if it's all Gameloft's fault since they had a 2 for 1 sale on 3 games that I used twice, so the site kept telling me to download a free game I already had installed, they them updated the website. Also Nova refuses to download content, support sent me a link for a new download, no diff. I lost let's golf 2 altogether, support ignores me on that one. Annoying, I would stay away from any games that are not from the market if you are into changing firmware/themes/wallpaper/display brightness, OK, maybe not the last 2. And backup whatever you get, however restoring the data doesn't guarantee that the game will use it. It's hit or miss with Gameloft. Makes me want to go to pirate bay to get copies of my purchased games. Not that I have been playing any of them lately, lol.
The NVIDIA pinball game is interesting, paper 3d glasses support.
Cheers!
Ok i am a little confused here. When i got to the site on my phone it says it isnt supported. When i go through the browser, there arent any ATT phones listed ( i assume its because they block sideloading). Can i just choose tmobile, download the apk, sideload it on my phone, and it work? Really wanting dungeon hunter 2. Has anyone had success w/ downloading from the above method?
hi im new here (been creeping as anonymous for a week now lol)
Might anyone have experience with gameloft apk files working on the atrix?
I use sideload wonder machine to install them to my phone
but they all require additional download when i open the app
that usually fails (dungeon hunter 2, eternal legacy, nova)
or it completes and then theres missing pictures all over, like white and the game crashes after a bit.
ive found some files that contains both the apk and a zip folder.
im assuming the zip is for the "additional download" but i have no idea how to install them.
solutions anyone?

lol, i used SWM too. works awesomely.
umm, also had the install freeze glitch. it only freezes when your phone goes into sleep mode or when you try to multitask while its installing.
solution is to go into settings, disable the screen timeout so the screen doesnt turn off (and so your phone doesnt autosleep) and just leave your phone plugged into the wall socket while downloading over wifi. worked for me.
currently trying gt racing. it looks good, but lots of jaggies. antialiasing would be nice, but given our atrix's higher resolution, i dont think it would have enough grunt to run AA (ignoring the fact that tegra 2 doesnt seem to do AA).
sadly, the only way i have found to get any games working is through mobilism (bad word?). i guess if they want my money, they'll open up to att now that the 3rd party sources is open. or is that when official 2.3.4 comes out? idk, it's whatever, the atrix has a very limited amount of gameloft choices anyways. they probably have versions for our phones, but the atrix is kinda unique in it's design. does anybody else know of a non-att, qvga, tegra device? when one does land or maybe when ginger lands officially we'll get versions for our phone made available.
Asphalt 6 runs very well. And dungeon hunter 2 works too. I've bought Nova too once but I gave up the idea of installing it because the gameloft's politic on purchases sucks.
And I much prefer my emulators! I have a bunch of em working smoothly you should try fpse, it's great!

how did you get Asphal 6 to run? When i tried installing the tree's are black. In 3D terms alpha channels in textures aren't rendered correctly. =\

Dead Space

Has anyone gotten dead space to run properly on their nook color? It installed and runs quite well on the nook color, however all i see is white screen. I'm able to move the character around but its difficult due to the graphical issue. Help?

I don't even get a movie or white screen... My screen lights up for a few seconds, and then closes the program. No warning or force close, nothing.
This is with multiple settings in Chainfire 3d's newest update. Even if I try to emulate it with the Qualcomm plugin.
Files are on SD card under ea
Edit: Forgot to mention that I tried this on both the .29 kernel and the .32 kernel.
Update: For those who have paid for this game, look for the Hacked Galaxy S apk file and the PowerVR sd card files, works a treat =D. So beautiful! One more reason it's okay I sold my PS3.

Didn't work for me. I launch the game. It checks for updates. I have a black screen, whith what looks like the bottom of a "marker" on the bottom of the screen for a second before it closes. No force close notification or error, the app just isn't on the screen anymore.
Are there any specific CF3D settings you're using? Do you have the EGL driver installed?

Did you make sure to replace the EA sd card data with the PowerVR files? As I made that mistake the first time.
No specific settings in CF3D, in fact, I would venture to say it doesn't need any since my default settings are for tegra, and that's what it's using.
No Idea what the EGL driver is...
Will also mention I am on the .29 kernel right now.
Yeah, I tried the regular SD files as well as the PowerVR files. With both file sets I tried tegra, qualcomm, and PowerVR plugins. No luck. I think I'm just going to give up, maybe I'll play it if I end up getting another tablet or phone down the road. Thanks for your help though!

Why would you use PowerVR data files if you have CF3D set to tegra? I'm not sure how that would work.
Our devices are PowerVR I believe. So it doesn't go through CF3D at all. I was merely mentioning, that I hadn't messed or done anything with CF3D to make it work.
My default settings just happen to be for tegra since I obviously have the tegra games as well.
My only gripe with this game so far... It's almost impossible to play with a touch screen, the controls are just really difficult to grasp. You have to run using your thumb on one side of the screen, while at the same time aiming and shooting with the other thumb. Ammo is even more sparse than the original games, and with how impossible it is to shoot the aliens just right, you never have ammo. Curb stomping requires a swipe, which can lead to a messed up camera and you dead. And the plasma cutter is hit or miss since it's in the corner of the screen, again possibly screwing up the camera.
Got to a point where I just kept running.
Other than that... Impressive graphics that would make any fanboy drool at the chance to play, story line seems pretty eerie and interesting from the first 30mins or so of play. In-ear headphones definitely make it just as traumatizing as the first 2. (Of course, my subwoofer does a much better job at making me jump ;p)
That said, if you still can't get it to work, I would suggest trying on a .29 kernel. Currently using Phiremod 6.2, less of battery, .29 kernel is just a much better kernel for those who aren't looking to not use their nook for long periods of time. N64oid is freakin awesome now ;p. Video is less laggy. So is flash.
Just a thought =D

I don't believe it does, which is unfortunate with the recent release of SixAxis.
So, could you guys that have this up and running give us detailed instructions on how you got it to run? I have generated my imei number, downloaded and installed chainfire 3d, all of its plug ins, and changed my build prop to a couple of different things. tried a hacked version of the game, galaxy apk, sd cache, vr cache, still no dice. Been at it for like 4 hours, my ocd will not let me walk away.

Since you have been at it for like 4hrs, maybe just for the hell of it, you should try the .29kernel instead and see if that's the missing link.

For those of you who have it working I have a question.. Is it REALLY worth the $4.99!? Ive been spoiled by .99c games. Honestly I doubt I purchase it just because of that. But if Im missing out and NEED to play this game could any body offer a brief explanation why? I have read about the game already but would like to hear from someone who is playing on an Atrix. i bought it yesterday, but didn't play it for very long. it's a pretty fun game, and the controls were really intuitive. it's exactly how you would want to control a fps on a touch screen, left side of the screen for moving and right for camera.
the graphics were pretty amazing for a smartphone, i was impressed. and i didn't experience any sort of lag, which was even better (using the 1.0ghz enhanced kernel CM7)
i'd say it's worth the 5 dollars, i only got about half an hour into it so far and was already satisfied with my purchase. the animations are all voice acted so far, gameplay is fun, and controls are great for a touch screen.
I highly recommend this game. Well worth the $5. The controls are much better than the gameloft FPS's that I've played and the graphics are amazing. When you compare the price to a console game it's a no brainer purchase.
On the gameloft shooters they kinda auto aim for you (sorta like goldeneye on n64) but on this game once you press the fire button you can move your finger and move your aim, like having dual joysticks. Also the left joystick appears wherever you put your thumb (on the left half of the screen) eliminating the problem of your finger missing the joystick.
The cover system is easy to use and works well. It's nice to have that instead of just having to run around shooting. The enemy AI isn't as good as many console games but miles ahead of other mobile shooters. Enemies will move from cover to cover, one will stick back while the other tries to flank you, etc.
There are a few very minor glitches here and there, but it runs very well on the atrix.
Well worth it...just be ready to kiss your battery byebye

Haven't checked, but i haven't modified it, it's the one from aura 1.2.2.1 deblur aura. Might be the 3.2.0 market messes things up.
Definitely worth it,especially considering it'll get an update for multiplayer in the near future apparently (forgot where i read it but it was a legit source). And the game is great to play, it has great graphics and is very smooth and fast.

Also... Yesterday(?), there was an update available for the game. After installing it, the character was holding an invisible gun that shelled out little pink blocks. Apparently this was a pretty common problem. This was fixed by reinstalling the game after deleting /sdcard/Android/data/com.madfingergames.shadowgun

Sadly there is no way to make hdmi mirroring with the Atrix... Widescreen that is.
This game is great on both my Atrix and eee pad transformers. For anybody having glitches, just uninstall the game and reinstall. I had to do that on both devices afterthe update. Also for those who have an eee pad with dock, you can plug up an Xbox 360 controller and play the game like it is an Xbox 360 game, just loads faster.

The Atrix does not do HDMI Mirroring in Widescreen.
I suck as FPS and I'm a sucker for eye candy, but I definitely think this is a 10/10. Very well polished game. Some FPS pros might get bored of it but I'm not good enough at the genre to make an informed decision lol
Definitely with $5 or whatever it was.

there is, there are,
depending on the type of rhodium you get. (100-500)
don't buy it if you need it for daily use, its not as far as that, and gaiming is no option and will never be!
email, office work well, calling, sms too.
batterydrain is too high, atleast charching every 12hours needed!
it is developing in huge steps but it still needs time, and it will never be like a native android phone!
but after all i love to use it as my second phone/tablet for facebookchat, email, watch ebay, regard my forums (like xda!)
for home use its okay id say.
Could you play games as temple run, angry birds, doodle jump with android on the HTC Touch pro2?

The phone can be overclocked. If you want it to be stable, I would not go above 650MHz or so, although some reported OK results at 710. Even 650 Angry Birds would be fairly slow, even with backgrounds disabled, although I have not tried at all with the latest GB builds. Even Jewels and Solitaire stutters badly at times.
GB is pretty stable on my RHOD400 (Sprint CDMA TP2), but BT does not work, and camera seemingly either. I agree with other posters that GB with the latest kernels had improved battery life quite a bit vs. FroYo.
Hope this helps.
OM
Updating here since with 3.3.6 kernel BT and camera appear to be working.
Thanks, so it is not a good option to buy this phone for android..

It's a great option, it just doesn't fit your particular needs.
I can't imagine choosing angry birds over the best world class mobile keyboard in existence, but different strokes for different folks.
I agree with that
I think Doodle Jump actually does work. Fruit Ninja does. Angry Birds does not (crashes on startup). I don't know about Temple Run.
How about speedx?
Could you try temple run (or is it paid?)

For grins and giggles I just tried the latest update of Angry Birds 2.1.1 on Sprint TP2 oc'd to 710400. It takes a painfully long time to load, near 2-3 minutes. If you let the phone go into "light sleep" while it loads, the game crashes. If you keep it alive, then after it loads with the background disabled it is playable, although slow, and level to level transitions take long. It is better than I remember on Froyo.
I agree with others, with great keyboard, decent screen resolution, it is OK with the latest GB, especially after all the audio libraries got baked in, for text, light to moderate internet browsing, puzzle (non-graphics intensive) games, and TETHERING. GPS also works fine, with Google Maps navigation working.
Temple Run is paid on Android for some reason, free on iPhone.
I thought temple run is only for HDPI devices with QSDxx/MSM7x30 or above cpu's only?

I could swear I could see the paid version in Froyo. Just tested with GB, you are right, it does not show up in the latest Market version.
One way or another, it is a no go on this device.
OM
If you want to play games, don't get a phone with an Adreno130... Get something with at least an Adreno200+ if you want to play recent games!
This device runs Android surprisingly well, but again if you're just buying it to run Android, don't. Buy an Android phone...

LOL..I want to play this game, only because I LOVED the original one on the playstation. I hope that they fixed the bugs found on the IOS version.
This is great news. I cannot wait to try this game out on my Prime.
This game promises to be extraordinary!
Fast on 14...
Its out now for $2.99 and is also optimized for tegra 3!
It Doesnt work for me
Version .28
and i cant refund it
the installation took me 20min
what can i do ?
I already posted this to other thread, but let's post it here too.
With USB controller, everything else works other than shooting. Makes the game a bit hard. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe map the controls other way? The USB/BT joystick app doesn't see my controller, but it works fine in the other games.

One app, but the resolution can be turned up to 100%, other features like sorta like the GTA 3 options.
I really like it so far, brings back good memories playing this game for the PS1 back in the day! Controls work well, I didnt have to make any adjustments to them, I had to turn the brightness up a bit though in the settings. Overall, well worth the $3.00 asking price.
yeah, happy memories runs well and has built in ps3 gamepad support (bluetooth)... no sixaxis app required.
How come I can't start a game? Everytime I try and press New Game or Tutorial it loads Rockstar Social Club and I cant figure out how to get any further?
I have rebooted already!

That happened to me too. Click new game, scroll to the bottom of the social club popup, select accept, then X out. Then you can start the game.
I'm getting screen flickering with this game. I'm getting flickering in Shadowgun THD, and Mass Effect Infiltrator too though.
Maybe my live wallpaper is causing it, but I don't know.

Try a fresh reboot, then try it again. if that doesn't help, follow mythread below for a quick fix.

RockStar hit a home run with this game. I am very impressed with the graphics(with everything in video cut on or to the Max). Really good graphics. Looks way better than what I remember playing it back in the day. Love the story line. I forgot all about they killed his wife n child. I made it to the subway, first part then saved. Will get more into the game later tonight.
Also this game played fine, so far, on this new build I'm testing. No issues at all. Games like this, ShadowGun, & sonic 2 are the reason of love the tegra3 chipset so much. Nvidia is really smart giving us these exclusive optimized versions. It makes people want a tegra3 tablet. Tegra3 tablets are the best. Can't wait to see what tegra4 with likely keplar based gpu will bring. With games like these,I don't need a console system. Plus the games are alot cheaper
I'm now ready for Bladeslinger, that zombie fps, and any other tegra3 optimized game. I gotta have em all..lol. make sure to play this game, or any other game, with superips+ on. I have it at lowest setting usually. It makes the games, colors, details, display pop more. Its so much better with this mode on.
I've purchased all the high end games that has come out thus far but somehow I'm holding back on this one. Probably because I've already played it so many times back in the days. Everything's identical to the pc version even his face lol. Intro is exactly the same. I'm really glad though that game developers are recognizing android now and putting out high end games close to or at the same time as the ipad versions.
