[Q] Is it possible to install Mediascape in original 2.3.3? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I want to see how Mediascape runs in Android 2.3.3, but I wanted to know if it it's possible to get the app from an X10 so I can install it on my X10 running 2.3.3. In case I can, do I need to root?
Thanks in advance.

I think that's not possible. is between 2.1 and 2.3.3 to the consuming

Wolfbreak say this on his WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread Thread.

Sry but SE dumped Mediascape in 2.1 becouse it needs to much Time for OS Upgrades becouse porting Mediascape to newer Android Versions is critical and a longtime Process even for SE so i think theres no way to get it in 2.3, sorry!

[Q] Custom roms?

Hi, Im not that good with all this root, custom roms and stuff. I did root my device though. My xperia x10. I got 2.1 rooted.
I read about everything with custom roms everywhere and everytime i read about android.
What is custom roms? does it enable me with my xperia to download a custom rom or custom version so i can get 2.2 or 2.3 even if sony ericsson has chosen to not update?
Thanks
Oh, And i downloaded something from connect-utb site.
What is it? is it some kind of new android version? it stood that it can be used on Xperia so... it was something XDAndroid
cant link. But search google for connect-utb
Custom ROMs enable you to have 2.2, 2.3 and so on, BUT with some drawbacks. Since the highest the phone can go is 2.1, the ROMs will be based on 2.1 and some things might not work (e.g. Camera,Videorecorder).
Try looking at the x10 developement section. Ask what you want to do in the q and a section and we can help u. But all the info is rite here on this site. U just have to look.

[Q] X10 "mini" Timescape from stock 2.1 to miniCM6.0.1

ok, i start this thread with a request to the honorable members of this forum. i have the timescape .apk's from the stock 2.1update1 of the x10 mini. i tried to install it on my x10 mini with miniCM 6.0.1 but no luck :\
i tried:
1) created "timescape.zip" and tried to flash it via xrecovery - no luck
2) used root explorer 2.15, copied the 3 files to system/app/, changed the permission (i.e, ticked every box *ok, am a noob* ) and tried to install. - no luck either ...says "application not installed"
can anyone of you try and port it to our mini??? the resolution fits the screen, nd CUM'ON, TIMESCAPE IS MADE FOR XPERIA.....it's OUR SIGNATURE APP!!!!...much like the HTC FOOTPRINT!!!!....please try and get a solution...please
am attaching the apk's from the stock SE x10 mini 2.1 update1 ROM for ur reference
From what I know about SE apps, timescape requires resources specific to the framework-res.apk in the stock firmware.

yaa, i believe so.....actually the ported arc timescape is a bit too small to follow....the x10 mini timescape was ideal
timescape
try flashing that with clockmodrecovery.
it works like a charm on my x10 mini fonts are readable except for long facebook status where it gets cramped at the bottom.
the only thing is the twitter plugin doesnt seem to work as it fails to update. if anyone can fix the twitter this will be near perfect

2.3.3 bugs

hai,
recently i have updated my xperia x10i (2.1.71) to 2.3.3 through sony ericsson pc companion. after updating to 2.3.3 my mobile internet speed is very slow to compare to old version 2.1.71, and all applications installed in 2.3.3 is automatically updating with out conformation message, anroid market application is also updating after updating itsl not working showing an error no connection timedout.
pls give me sugession to get fast internet to my mobile and stop automatic updates of applications installed in the phone.
Regards,
Rajendra
then u should turn off in settings/accounts and sync the auto-sync option and background data option to be turned off !! then it wont automatically update !! and try using Custom Rom , they give a slight speed advantage using internet compared to stock Roms!!
hope it helps...
plz thank me if it did!!!
thanq for ur replay, but i dont know how to install custom rom in my phone, is it a anroid market application ??
is there any way to degrade anroid 2.3 to 2.1, in 2.1 internet speed is very fastttttttttt.
