[Q] Contacts Storage force close - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time I access my contacts and try to view any contact I receive a force close for Contacts Storage app (process com.motorola.contacts). Is there any way to fix this problem?
I have tried a couple of ROMS to "fix" the force close, but nothing seems to help. I would be happy to provide any additional information that may be needed.

fixed the problem!
I unfroze Corporate Sync Authenticator.

I too am having trouble with this except my Corporate Sync Authenticator isn't frozen or uninstalled.

Make sure the Yahoo Authenticators are not frozen either, that is what caused mine to FC.

Thanks a ton, guys; this one just bit me, too. Stupid "Yahoo Mail Authenticator" ...

If you are getting this kind of problem in Samsung mobiles, just enable "Calendar Storage".:fingers-crossed:

This post is not about freezing it's about the Error which I have noticed a lot of people are experiencing. Some say it's due to Google + App, I have NEVER downloaded this app and I'm experiencing this issue. Need fixes that Don't involve losing my contacts.

u revived a rllly old topic...
anyway, if u synced ur contacts with Google, there is no worry, since it backups them, so u can do those fixes and sync them back later...

I can't my contacts won't do anything. I did export them to my SD card tho, but still trying to find a fix with out the reset.
I'm also posting on Motorola Forums.
and a few other places I mean this issue seams to be a random one but still affecting a lot of people. be nice to find a fix.
Okay I got a post from another person who went thru the same issue. It seam when Hotmail wento Outllok.com it messed up something. Here is a copy of his post
"I may be on to something here. I recently installed the MS Outlook app. That's when my contacts stopped working. I uninstalled both my Hotmail and Outlook apparently and restarted the phone. The contacts still wouldn't work. For some reason, I decided to reinstall the new Outlook app. After I did that, I was able to access my contacts again!"
I did uninstall both my hotmail app and outlook.com app, Restarted (pulling battery) then it worked. I reinstalled Outlook.com and it still working. So that is how my issue got fixed. hope it helps others out.

Have to agree with Hotmail app being the problem. I have had FC problem for a while(around the same i was forced to start using the new outlook.com webmail). Uninstalling the Hotmail app fixed the issue(Also installed new Outlook app and still works). Thx!!!

[Q] Contacts Storage FC

Hi,
I froze the apps in a list via a thread here. Mainly authenticators I dont use. Everything was fine until today. Now I can't open any contact info or make calls without getting Contacts Storage (com.Motorola.contacts) force closing.
I unfroze everything and rebooted my phone but it did not fix my issue. Has anyone seen this before or can point me in the right troubleshooting direction Id appreciate it. Thanks
Figures it was the last one at the bottom I forgot. Yahoo authenticator can't be frozen or it'll FC contacts. Im sure this has been discovered already.
delete blurcontactssync.apk will solve this problem, no need to restore yahoo authenticator.
The more changes I make to blur the more problems I seem to run into. Contacts has been working fine like I said. Now I can't purchase apps from the market...tried everything. Google Support told me to factory reset. **** that. Buying new phone. So sick of this PoS

[Q] Receiving "Sync is currently experiencing problems"

Hi guys,
I just noticed recently that my DNA is giving me this error under accounts and sync. It seems like this may be a wide spread issue for all types of Android phones, but I was wondering if anyone else was seeing this. The strange this is that it looks like everything is synced properly, and even when I drill down into the actual items that are syncing, there are no errors. I'm not sure if it is the rom that I am on (UKB), but I would really like to clear it up if possible. I have tried deleting the data in Apps for the various items listed, but this does not seem to help. I even booted into recovery and cleared the cache, to no avail.
Thanks guys,
Steve
Alright, I just did a full wipe, installed UKB 1.3 with Cubed stock kernel, and I am still getting that sync error. Is anyone else seeing this?
I have had this issue on CODIS, UKB and the battery plus ROM
It syncs everything fine, but it does show a red sync icon and say its experiencing problems. I've just learned to deal with it as everything still works fine.
--removing and re-adding my google account does nothing
--unchecking each option (calendar, contacts, gmail etc.) one by one to see if a particular causes the problem,...does nothing to help
Just wanted to letyou know you are not the only one with the issue.
I'm having the issue where the gmail app syncs fine but if I read/delete emails and go back to my computer, all the changes I did on my phone didn't sync with my computer browser. Anyone know how to fix that?

I had that issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling gmail app from the market fixed it for me.
-HTC Droid DNA-
Ah, thanks for the replies guys. At least I'm not the only one . At least it's not in your face screaming at you, so I can learn to ignore it.
I'm having the sync issues myself, and I'm even on full stock ROM. Just wanted to let you know. My account is on two-step authentication - are other people also using two-step? Common denominator?

I believe that is the problem. I had an error in Google Internet sync. I fixed it by going to Google dashboard on my computer and clicking "Websites authorized to access the account." Go down to Application Specific Passwords.
Install the Google Authenticator on the DNA. Then register it by generating a new application specific 12 digit password. The Authenticator app will then generate the six digit codes you'll need when asked to be able to sync your bookmarks in the browser or sign in the Google search homepage. Anyway it worked for me.
For me it was Facebook calendar that couldn't sync. I unchecked it and the error went away. It looks like it can be any part of any of your accounts that will trigger that message. If you go into each one, it will show which one is having the problem.

I need help getting my contacts back. its a bit different than usual.

i had to clear the data from "contacts" and "contacts data" to clear an error that kept popping up after i flashed the latest task aokp rom, coming from a previous 4.1 version of the rom.
but now i cant sync the contacts back into my phone from the google servers/gmail. ive been trying regular syncing and resyncing but im still not getting my contacts back. the contacts are on gmail but i cant get them back on my phone.
does anyone have any solutions to this? tried searching google and xda but im getting much luck. thanks

-Did you try deleting your Google account in accounts from your phone and then add it back? That might work. Since you checked online and your contacts are still on Google, it sounds like a sync-focused problem and not an account issue. Is your Google Calendar syncing? Also are other accounts syncing?
I once installed a rom (not Tasks) and the contacts did not show up until I reloaded gmail and sent myself an email. (I don't normally use Gmail, but did for that issue!)
Sorry, I don't have more recommendations!
Good Luck!

good job! However, I would be concerned that they may not sync or stay updated. . . You might still have a sync issue.
Does your calendar sync? Also gmail on the phone stays sync'd with the desktop /web versions? That's the issue!

Google account sync running non-stop

For about a week now I have been experiencing some strange syncing behavior on my Google accounts sync and it is driving me crazy. What I am experiencing is my Google account syncing non-stop, over and over again. As a result, battery life is taking a hit. As far as I know it is centralized to the Google accounts.
What I have tried:
Restoring phone to stock firmware using LG flash tool (issue eventually started again)
Removing additional Google accounts
Turning off data and unchecking all the sync options for the google account and one by one turning them back on (this works but only if I uncheck everything besides gmail, app data, and calendar)
Downloaded a contacts fixer to make sure there are no broken contacts to sync.
While it doesn't sound like an issue that should be isolated to the LG G3, I have seen similar issues based on some Google searches from other LG G3 owners. I would love to use my phone as it was intended with multiple Google accounts and all accounts syncing correctly.
Has anyone experienced this annoying issue or if anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it.
I believe I have the same thing, like you for about a week.

I first though that maybe installing all the new updated versions of the Google apps that just came out is causing the issue, but haven't verified that. Do you remember anything that may have triggered the issue for you?
Thanks!
I believe it kicked in when I updated gmail, with the app now handling other email servers.

I believe you are correct here, my sync icon stays up of late until I swipe away gmail in the recent applications...
