sorry if im missing something but i just can not for the life of me find how to root a ota updated atrix on 2.3.4
i also want to unlock the bootloader and im just so lost and i cant find a thread or forum that makes any sense. and most never really seem to be for the ota updated 2.3.4 atrix

Another question about rooting
I'm a newbie and am thinking of rooting my LG P500. But I'm concerned that the rooting may affect the future release of Android 2.3 for this phone. Can you guys pls clarify my doubts on this? Will rooting affect the update or will the update just overwrite the rooting to install Gingerbread?

if you only rooted your phone the LG update will work.
Hey guys, im sure theres a thread about this already and please dont pick on me, i just cant find it for the love of me, plus my boss is on my ass about computer time.
can someone please point me in the direction of unlocking the bootloader on a atrix that came with the official 2.3.4 update. i really hate blur and i want to install a custom rom, i have superuser and cwm installed i just need to unlock the bootloader
This thread is how I did it. Pretty painless. Make sure you read the thread before you do it though. The OTA update will soft brick your phone before you issue the unlock command. Be sure to thank the original poster.

hello how are want to know how I can update ota motorola Atrix 2.3.6 at&t on my phone knowing that I have version 2.3.4 and bootloader unlocked root ... I want to make this change without a hard brick my phone
I believe I still have the files I updated mine to 2.3.6 with, let me see if I can find you the thread I got them from or I can just re-up them myself.

Alright the files I used are in this post. They're installable through CWM, and I am assuming since you're rooted and unlocked you know how to do that? If not just let me know man and I'll see if I can't find you a how-to thread or just search for one. Have fun on 2.3.6 bro!

ok... so im a noob in the rooting business...
i had and iphone and the truned android all of a sudden.. and becuase i was used to the easiness of jailbreaking an iphone... i didnt pay notice when i updated my xperia s to the new ics 4.0.4...... it wasnt rooted when i got it and now i cant find a way to root it unless i downgrade back to gingerbread....
please if anyone has any idea what to do.... i would appriciate it .
You can´t root it without downgrading to Gingerbread first, unless you unlock your bootloader and go that way.
Ive just recently purchased this phone through craigslist and i wanted to root it just like i do all my other phones well ive been having problems it keeps on getting locked for some reason but i don't know can some guide me to the proper information on rooting this on ICS 4.0.4
