[Q] how to replace "Corporate Sync" email with AOSP Exchange email - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on stock / rooted 4.5.91 for ATT Atrix. Prior to the GB update I was having daily issues with my exchange email, where I would get a "Connection Error" and only removing the account, rebooting, and re-adding the account would get it temporarily resolved. It would work for 1-2 days, then it would have the same issue happen again. Unchecking the "verify certificates" box seemed to help, but again only temporarily.
Now that I'm on GB I've only seen it once, but I'm still frustrated by it. My work email is important (if it was absolutely critical, I'd suck it up an get a BB), and I'm seriously annoyed by connection issues.
I'd like to try the AOSP email.apk and stock Android exchange sync setup, but not sure how to do that from where I am now. I assume it is harder than removing the existing email.apk and installing a new one.
I know the Aura ROM has the AOSP email built in, but not quite ready to go down the unlocked bootloader path. I'd like to keep my warranty in case the AOSP email doesn't work and I need to return the Atrix.
Anyone able to help?
Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but are you sure it's not your corpo's fault? We run 4 exchange servers here and we have had no complaints about failed connections or anything of the sort, whether it's android, iPhone or otherwise. I have an Atrix and had it set up with my email since day one and I have had no issues at all.

Nope, not sure. But I do know numerous iOS and other Android users (mostly HTC phones, a few OG Droids) that don't have this issue.
I work at a small company so we have a hosted exchange service, and I had our IT guy remove and re-add the Activesync service for my account. That seemed to help for a day, but then back to the same problem.
I'd be willing to bet it is something that is incompatible between the Atrix and the exchange environment, but I've got limited access / visibility to that, and a variety of data points that do not have issues, so I'm trying this route.
Thanks for the input. If you have suggestions on things I can ask my provider to check / uncheck, I'm open.

Thus doesn't actually answer your question but I got tired of dealing with that from rom to rom so I just bought "enhanced email" from the market. Its $10 and gets around the pin requirement if you want to.
Sent from my Att Atrix 4g unlocked.

I had this start on my Captivate running Serendipity VII a few days ago and it is now completely shut down, no emails getting through. I use Enhanced Email as my email program. Very interested in discovering a solution.

on my BB, it took 30+ mins or even an hour to get emails. My exchange works perfectly on my Atrix, as it did on my Inspire. Its probably your phone

Agreed EE is awesome. We use it on 14 different phones in my office.

Last time I tried to get rid of Corporate Sync I kept getting FC's afterwards.
I recommend using the exchange app included in CM roms. It's based on AOSP but has some mods like email signature, and on your atrix the account will show up next to the google accounts in settings menu.
go download a CM zip from http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices/nexus-one and then extract system/app/email.apk to your phone and install it. then just add the account in settings.

I had issues with company exchange servers and went to Moxier Mail, they have a free 7 day trial then for $19.00 you get it all, contacts, calendar, email, tasks.....stays connected except when I changed my password (every 60 days). Then I had to remove and reload, but that was only issue....very reliable.....

Would I replace the email.apk with the CM one, or just install it in addition?

Appreciate the help. Got the file extracted then realized I had one more question - do I need to change the name, or is it ok to have 2 "email.apk" applications?
I realize it is a total noob question, but figure better to ask than to screw something up.

you can just install it. the blur version is titled BlurEmail.apk. if a conflict were to arise - it would ask you to overwrite. the system identifies apps differently so just renaming it wont change how it installs.
ex. Google+ shows up as "Google+" but the system seems and calls on com.google.android.apps.plus

[Q] Black screen showing Vibrant and Samsung words

I have black screen showing with words vibrant and Samsung displayed on it.
I see quite a few posts about it and I am hopeful it can get fixed. What's worrying me about it is the way I got this problem.
Two days ago I bought two phones - one for a Christmas present and one for myself. I had one phone unlocked, rooted and upgraded to Froyo 2.2 by the seller.
Last night I gave it as a present to my wife but I wanted to associate her gmail account with it. So I added new account through settings. Then I wanted to remove my account from it but it told me that it's being used by other applications. It said that I should delete personal data through Privacy settings - and I did.
When I rebooted I've got the black screen. I wasn't flashing or doing anything crazy. Why would it happen?
I see Android is quite sensitive about gmail account associations! On my second phone I cannot associate any gmail account, can't access Market etc. I found the workaround to login first to YouTube app but that doesn't get me access to Android Market! Why is gmail account linking to Android phones so finicky? Is it only with Galaxy T-Mobile phones or is it present accross the board?
Btw, great forums - lots of info here. I am glad I came accross this awesome site!

Your problem of how you got it is...
Confusing me,but gmail IS sensitive to android , if you lose your lockscreen password your gmail gets it back you can say that gmail is the core of android.
How to fix
On the android development section for vibrants theres a sticky known as the bible
Read through it
Download necessary things ull be provided
In the end you'll use a program called odin to set your phone back to normal
Then you can root again and flash a better froyo

Thanks xriderx66!
I read a lot and finally fixed one of my phones but I am still learning a lot from you guys.
Now my biggest task ahead is fixing Android market as I cannot log into it. For me everything is complicated by the fact that I have my phones unlocked from T-mobile. I read that when you flash with ODIN you might relock it permanently. But hopefully there is workarounds for that too!
Thanks for words of encouragement!

[Q] com.google.process.gapps crashes

Hi everyone. It's been two days since the process com.google.process.gapps has started crashing, "stopping unexpectedly" whenever i use the browser on my tab.
Reading the error report, it seems (not 100% sure about that) this is somehow related to the bookmarks sync with Chrome, but i can't find a way to disable this.
Has anyone exprerienced the same issue? Any known solution? Thanks
Go to settings > accounts and sync, click on your account then uncheck everything, then manually sync everything one by one to see what is causing the error.
Then go to manage apps and clear the cache of all the problem apps and re-sync them once you're done. It might take a few tries but it should take care of that error.
I'll try that as soon as possible, thanks!
browser sync was causing this for me
I believe that bookmarks sync no long works with galaxy tab. Google changed something on their end that should have worked fine(it still works on the xoom, transformer, etc.) but since samsung changed a bunch of stuff for no apparent reason, it is now broken. samsung is so stupid sometimes..
So you're basically suggesting that bookmarks sync should stay off to avoid problems like that?
well I don't really know. I never used bookmark sync in the first place. I'm just going by what is said in this article.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/perlow/br...gle-or-the-oems/17840?tag=mantle_skin;content
It turns out that at some point Google started making some changes to the backend systems that handle Google’s user account data. There’s nothing wrong with them doing this; it happens all the time. In fact, no other Android 3.1 tablets had any issues at all with the changes, and their bookmark sync continued to work without a blip on the radar.
Not Samsung, however... I did some digging around the internet, and it’s become somewhat well-known amongst Android developers that Samsung actually modifies core source code in the Android operating system that handles communicating with Google’s backend data services.

Well, that's a pity. I had just started to think it was a useful tool to keep track of unread web pages between work, home and outside...
Let's hope Samsung somehow fixes that.
PS: disabling bookmarks sync actually stops the process from crashing, I think I've solved (if we could really say so...) the issue. Thanks to all!
Thanks, disabling auto sync for browser has stopped the error. Samsung developers need to fix this - I can't auto sync my gmail
What am I missing here?
Ok be prepared, this post may be rather long winded however I will try my best to prevent that. I have a Tmobile G2x I purchased on launch date. Ive not attempted to Root, change roms, or anything of the sort. (as much as I always wanted to, I always felt that my skills were not good enough to attempt these ideas no matter how easy they may seem. I just did not want to be the cause of screwing up my phone that I paid dearly for)
So I have a friend who claims to be the master (of disaster so it turns out) of rooting androids and such. He stops by my house just to hang out and eventualy convinces me to let him root my phone and install CM7. Within a few minutes the phone was rooted (super1click) and was running CM7 release candidate. (I really dont know what all these things truly are but I drilled him for answers once he jacked up my phone and left me with a half-bricked phone) So he installed Rom manager and convinced me to upgrade to the premium version via marketplace so I did. He was then showing me how easy it was to flash new roms at the touch of a few buttons. He put on some other rom which looked like CM7 but claimed to have extra tweaks. It worked fine. A few minutes later he put on some Faux Rom which gave a boot up screen like my old Nexus One did. (Multicolored X) It seemed to work fine as well. Then he said lets check out the nightly CM7 Rom so he put it on. (however I dont think it ever actually put CM7 back on.-still on Faux?) Thats when things got crazy.
Now I get the com.google.process.gapps force close message all the time. He tried to fix it for 4 hours and finally gave up. Here is what I know he/we tried: After searching the internet for hours we tried everyone elses ideas. Clearing calenders cashes, un syncing, etc. We did about 40 factory resets. We have tried to install my backup (which was from BEFORE he even touched my phone) and upon holding both volume rockers and plugging in USB (no battery installed) and it still does nothing. Windows recognizes device but phone screen stays black. Tried Debug mode while doing this as well. If we hold the volume down button and power the little install bar comes on the screen and it does its thing (whatever that is) and goes right back to the way it was. I keep getting the gapps message all the time. After factory reset I cant even type in my gmail address to start the initial setup of the phone. The force close keeps cutting me off. If I type fast, I can sync the account but I cant use market whatsoever. Tried installing Rom manager to re-flash but just sticks at starting download and gapps pops up again.
My son is starting school tomorrow and he has a medical condition. I NEED this phone to communicate with the school nurse via emails and such. As of now I can only text, call, or surf web all while dodging force closes. If ANYONE out there can please help me get my phone back to normal Id greatly appreciate it. Im sure its something easy but as I said before, Im not good at this thing and thats why I never attempted it myself. Your welcome to submit answers here or PM me your phone # if you want to walk me through it on the phone. (I have a landline phone to talk to you on) Thanks in advance for everyones time and Im sorry this ended up being so long.
Hello,
Based on your post, I would suggest that you search your phone's development forum on XDA for a compatable clockwork recovery mod which will install a custom recovery on your phone. The thread will give you instructions on how to do so and how to enter recovery mode.
You can then enter the 'Backup and Restore' part of the recovery and restore your backup manually without using ROM manager. If this doesn't work, I would suggest that you then download the ROM of your choice and install it from the clockwork recovery. Make sure you clear user data and wipe the cache before you install.
Any fix yet? This is really annoying me as I rely on my bookmarks tremendously.
try this:
Open stock browser and under settings choose clear cache and deletehistory

[Q] Thinking of rooting - need comments

So I have done some searching here, and really haven't found the information I am looking for.
I used to run an old HTC Imagio, and unlocked it. Wife was pissed because it pretty much never worked right after that.
Now I am runnning the Thunderbolt, have been since its release. I have also gotten the OTA update to 2.3.4. and now I am thinking whether I should or should not root.
All I keep hearing is tethering is now free, and its faster. So what I am asking is more of a sales pitch. I would love for someone to tell me really the advantages to rooting, how easy it really is, what I must have in order to properly use a rooted phone, which ROMs offer what customization, etc.
I currently use GoLauncher, and its pretty smooth for me. I like customization, changing screens, changing how the launcher looks (icons, screen transitions, etc). I also like to switch launchers from time to time, and have a cracked one that I can only use if rooted.
So as someone that is on the fence of rooting, I would like a good discussion on the pros and cons of rooting, especially on what really needs to be done (superuser, etc), I hear I have to install custom radios for both CDMA and the other, really? Those are the things I need to know before going into this, because the wife doesn't need to call me and it doesn't work, or text me and I never get or can send texts.
So hope I am not asking for too much.
Thanks!
Rooting the ThunderBolt is really easy. I used revolutionary www.revolutionary.io be sure to read everything before trying that method.
As for functionality, pretty much all the ROMs for the thunderbolt are very stable and have little to no bugs.
There are many different types of ROMs to choose from. You have Sense 2.1, sense 3.0, sense 3.5, miui, and aosp. Just browse the forums and see which you might like better. Also be aware that sense ROMs need sense kernels, and aosp and miui need aosp kernels.
I will tell you that tethering seems to work best on sense ROMs.
Since you have the 2.3.4 ota, you shouldn't need to flash any radios.
Hope this helps with your choice.

Guys, another question regarding the "revolutionary" root method. There is a video and it shows that data (apps) are not deleted. Does that include contacts and other twitter and FB data?
Also, it indicates that you have to uninstall HTC Sync. When I reinstall it, will I have to reestablish connection to Outlook, or will it think nothing has happened to my phone?
I want this root to be as seamless as possible, so sync with outlook must be without a flaw.
And finally, if I do go this route, can anyone describe the different ROMS that are out there, what they offer, in terms of preinstalled apps, custimization, relative speed and ease of use, and level of bugginess or lack of bugginess.
Thanks again guys.

Revolutionary does not root. All it does is give you S-OFF (disables rom signature checking by the bootloader. After using revolutionary you flash a small rom update (.zip file) that gives you the su binary and the superuser application (which controls the apps allowed to have root access, without it any app could call su without having to ask first). It might also install busybox. Note that installing a different ROM will delete all your data which is why after you root the first thing you should do is install Titanium Backup so you can back up everything (app data, system data such as contacts, installed apps, and even system apps). Btw, the Pro version of Titanium Backup is definitely worth the money. The ROM I use (Ginger_BreadRock_V2.6_(2.11.605.5)) is a deodexed and semi-debloated version of the latest official rom with visual voicemail and backup assistant manually added back in (I have the deodexed BA and VVM .apk files if you want them).
Other apps you might want after rooting: LBE Privacy Guard (lets you block apps from accessing private stuff like SMS Messages, contacts, IMEI/serial number, and GPS location), SetCPU or similar app (underclocking to 300MHz while the screen is off really helps battery life) and imoseyon's leankernel (be sure to get the gb sense one). With leankernel and that underclocking option set I can get three days of very light usage (a few bluetooth phone calls a day) before dropping below 15% power.

I don't know what that deodex thing is, but I have heard that alot. I understand the debloated thing, thats always nice. I may have to wait until next december when my contract is up and I can renew. Might use that as a way to get the wife to let me root instead of buying a new phone.
She is very careful with her outlook, her contacts and calendar are her babies so to speak, so screwing that up is a big no no for me.
Thanks again for the information.
Revolutionary itself doesn't root our phone, by if you look, it gives you everything you need to root.
Deodex means there are no odex files, and in simple terms, it means the Rom is themable.

If tethering is a major bonus and one of the main reasons you would like to root all you need to do is run revolutionary and install wifi tether. Running revo will not delete anything from your phone or change any of your currently set up applications. Your contacts will remain, twitter and facebook as well. It merely gains S-off and installs superuser so you can run rooted apps.
It is really hard to explain what the different roms have to offer since they all offer so much over stock. I hate verizons back up assistant so I just made sure all of my stuff is sync'd with google so once you sign back into your phone it will automatically reload calendar, contacts, wifi settings, etc...
Personally I enjoy sense based ROMs, others love AOSP. Currently I'm running Infectedrom.coms Eternity Sense 3.5 and absolutely love it.
Customization on most roms is the biggest reason I chose to root. Sick of my phone looking like everyone elses. It is nice to have another tbolt owner notice your sceen and get jealous
Just curious how would your phone mess up your wifes outlook contacts?

Do you have a way of forcing your contacts and such to sync with google without having to re-enter your data from scratch?
Do this. Go to YouTube and search "how to root thunderbolt revolutionary". There's a few good follow-along-as-you-do-it-yourself vids with all the links to all you need to dl to use the revolutionary method.
If you go to gmail on a pc, go to contacts, and check them. If your phone contacts are there (they will be), they load when you log into your phone.

everyone here has great advice tips, the only other GREAT thing i can add is that after you ROOT you can use Titanium backup. save all your data on your apps so you can transfer to another device and pick up where you left off.
This is one of the biggest reason to root your phone. you'll learn other GREAT tricks the app can do but i'll let you figure that on your own.

Because, last time I unlocked a phone, I had used microsoft backup. So when I hard reset my phone after unlocking, it replaced everything on my phone like it should, but then when I synced with the desktop, it doubled everything on the desktop, contacts and calendar items. We had to remove the doubled items one at a time to get everything back to normal. I know she will kill me if that happens again with rooting this.

ICS Exchange Issues, any hope?

hi guys,
Hopefully this is the right forum but if it is not, i apologize. Anyway, i recently moved from a GB rom to ICS rom (AOKP and now on SHOstock2) and i have to say that i LOVE SHOstock. however, there is one issue that is shaping up to be a showstopper for me and that is the Exchange service that is killing my battery as well as giving me some other problems like push emails not coming through every once in a while. i did quite a bit of reading both here and on google and from what i can tell, the issue with Exchange service killing battery and misbehaving is actually a problem with ICS and not a particular rom. On GB, i used to get about 1-3% per hour drain and now i am at about 15% and i can see that mail.exchange is keeping the phone awake most of the time with a wakelock (unplugged at 6am today and i am seeing about 3 hours of wakelock).
i already tried some of the suggestions that are out there like removing the calender sync, deleting and readding the account, using different mail clients etc.. but all have the same exact result. am i screwed? do i have to go back to GB if i want to keep my Exchange?
while i am at it, anybody else notice some issues with Wifi switching? it takes me about 2 minutes to get data after i turn wifi off and i already tried 3 different modems including the latest leaked one.
thanks in advance.
I'm on AOKP and my exchange works just fine. No battery drain issues or anything. No issues with the wifi switching either. Unplugged for 4 hours so far today and at 94% right now.
Did you do full wipes between flashing?
No issue here with Exchange, I run my own server and do not use autodiscover for settings. No abnormal battery drain. However, I have read that some are experiencing drain and its normally due to configuration of the account on the device. What to change exactly, I'm not sure but double check your settings.

yep, full wipe between flashes as well as cache wipe and delvik wipe.

i triple checked my settings and they are actually identical to the settings that i had when i was on GB. this is such a weird thing since it happened both on AOKP and on SHOstock and i already tried different modems.
checkout enhanced email, otherwise ya definately do a full wipe backup your stuff, i had the problem then i formatted my internal sd card, and in ClockworkMod i wiped cache/dalvik/data fixed my problems right up
i am using Enhanced Email right now (i much prefer it to anything else i tried). i am doing a few more tests but if i can't get it to work, i am going to do full wipe and flash SHOstock again and see if it helped.

Were you having these issues on the stock email app? I've read that the calendar sync from enhanced email caused a big battery drain.
I did try the stock email and it was actually worse. Oh and I have Calender sync disabled in both email clients.

Is your phone abnormally warm? I had an issue with something not syncing correctly, so exchange was constantly trying to sync and killing the battery. I deleted the accounts and re-added, syncing things one at a time and it worked.
I run two exchange accounts, my work and personal, and I have no issues now.
Aokp here, not a single issue to report with exchange

alright, i once again disabled all calender syncs and removed and re added the exchange account. with Enhanced Email, so far i don't see the exchange service acting weird so i will monitor it through the day and report back.
alright, another update:
after switching to enhanced email and disabling calender sync, i did a few more tests yesterday. i charged my phone to 100%, reset all the timers and left it over night. i woke up today to 94% battery and deep sleep was about 98% and there was only about 8 seconds of wake locks from email. it looks like everything is working as it should now but i will update again if the issue returns.
I sync my own exchange server as well as the one I administer from work. I too had random sync failures and drain using the stock Samsung email app included in shostock. The Samsung email app from GB was fine.
The ICS email app from CM9/AOKP works great. Only thing missing is sync scheduling. Quiet hours is a decent replacement. Looks like you found a workaround, just saying you're not alone.

I've had nothing but issues with the stock ICS Email/Exchange app, it won't recognize/authenticate me - no issues when using GB.
However, K9 and Touchdown both work fine. Touchdown works so well I was planning on buying it but now I read some reviews where they are not supporting rooted/custom roms so I may just stick with K9.
I have been on all of the versions of Shostock2 and I have not had any issues with exchange other than when I flashed V1 where I had exchange wake lock issues. I resolved it by wiping and re flashing and have had no issues since.

No Exchange issues to report, un-modded yakju IMM76I OTA.
I work for a big corporation, so I connect to Exchange servers supported by corporate IT.
I'm currently on I9100XWLP7, but this is already the third ICS version where this happens randomly. I always did a full wipe before and after flashing, and I did not restore any Settings using Titanium Backup (in fact, restoring System Settings always causes trouble).
The Problem is not the application (K9, Social Hub, Android stock ecc.) you are using, but the stock Exchange ActiveSync implementation of ICS. This Problem also happens on some ICS 4.0.4 Nexus, so actually there is no hope for a decent solution with the current 4.0.3 on the SGS2.
Deleting and re-adding the accounts helps for some days, or even weeks, but eventually it will reappear.
I noticed that disconnections between the Server and the device seem to be crucial for this to happen. The last time I did a full wipe the SGS2 worked flawlessly for about one week, until we had a Problem with the HDSL in our company. After restoring the connection, the Problem reappeared and since them every now and then the SGS2 gets hot and I have a massive battery drain, no mather what Settings (even Default Settings don't work).
This does not happen on any device with GB.
Stopping the Exchange Services sometimes helps. They will be restarted next time you open the email app. If you are lucky, than it's solved for some hours, if not, it continues to cause massive wakelocks.
You described my symptoms exactly.
Do you know if Touchdown uses the same service or implemented their own?

Touchdown works for me on rooted and custom roms. It just became officially supported at work, and custom roms are explicitly included by my IT department.

ShoStock2 ICS exchange email issue

I've searched until I'm blue in the face on this and am sorry if i've missed it somewhere, but with any version of ShoStock2 ICS (including the newest 2.2.2) I can't get exchange to show emails newer than 3 weeks ago. Older one's show up fine. Also I can send emails and they will come through on the PC, but never on the phone. I've flashed back to ShoStock 1.9.4 gingerbread, and exchange works flawlessly. I have tried connecting on wifi and over the air, both with the same results. I would very much appreciate any insight you all might have.
Edit: Forgot to mention, exchange works fine on AOKP and Phone-Bricker ICS roms.
No one has any thoughts or help on this?
Hi,
I've installed everything yesterday night. Everything including the exchange servers are working fine on my end. Could it be your setting by any chance?
I didn't use any other kernel, I used cherrypicker.
Exchange seems to be working fine at this end.
Running 2.2.2 and using exchange, no issues here. No to be a smart arse but you did wipe first right?

I always wipe data, cache, and dalvik twice before flashing a new ROM (thanks to the advice of the great group of people on XDA forums), and this is the only one that I've had any issue getting exchange to play nice with. It sets up fine and syncs all of my emails except newer than 3 weeks ago. I've ran at least 10 different ROM's including two other ICS versions with no issue on this. I've tried 4 different ShoStock2 ICS versions beginning all the way back to the the RC1 release, all with this same result. I've tried using different kernels with different releases, removing and resetting the exchange acount, rebooting, connecting on wifi and HSPA+, swapped the email apk, held my breath and stood on my head. Something is missing somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.
Just to be certain that the problem still exists, I downloaded AOKP and ShoStock2 latest versions last night to try this again. I wiped everything twice prior to flashing and got the same results. Exchange loads every email from today-on with AOKP, but none newer that 3 weeks on ShoStock2. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but surely someone else has some thought on this. The only thing I have not tried is running a kernel cleaning script. Does anyone think this might help?
The reason why I removed email/exchange apk from my rom was this exactly.
No idea why, but if included with the rom it will just causes problems so I added it as an addon in the kitchen.
I would clear cache/force stop both apps, remove them, then install them again by just grabbing them from the zip file.

Thanks for that reply! At least someone knows I'm not crazy. (I was starting to think I was). I actually ran your ROM a few releases ago, before kitchen was in it and it was pretty smooth. I may have to give it another go. Thanks again for the reply my friend!
Problem solved.
Well, I solved the problem (sort of). I said to hell with fighting to get the exchange working on ShoStock2, and installed LiLChris06's Phone-Bricker 2.5 ROM. This thing is freaking sweet and exchange works like a champ. I've been running this ROM hard now for about two hours with no force-closes, no lag, and the battery seems to be holding up incredibly.
Thanks LiLChris06!!!
Just FYI as i ran into similar problems with OMEGA and SHOStock2 roms, a single exhchange account seemed to run fine, but when i started adding the rest, i had similar issues with it not syncing new mail, and randomly NOT CONNECT to the exchange server in question. everything would setup fine, but eventually the exchange servers would just not update anymore after a couple hours.
if i went into the accounts/sync option in settings, then it would say it synced and would even give a current time, but would never display any new mail. if i went to "refresh" from within the mail app, the account would try to refresh, give an old date of the last refresh and then give the error: "connection error [exchange server name]"
i have not yet tried LilChris's option though, will try that once i get some extra time.

Are you saying that if you included it with the ROM it wouldn't work but if you installed it after the ROM was installed it would work fine?

Yea sounds crazy but that's how it worked for many others.
In the early releases when I included I got complaints left and right, when I added it as an addon it worked flawless for everyone.
i can attest to that (so far)..
i would get exchange issues within 1 hour almost certainly..
its been almost a full 20 hours now and i havent had a single exchange hiccup yet.
one thing that might be worth noting also, i think the app is different that LiLChris uses vs what some of the other devs are using.
i have exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 servers that i connect to..
the options for connecting to 2003 and 2010 (as well as 2007) are the same in the email app that LiLChris uses, such as syncing mail, contacts, calendar (only). 2007 allows syncing of tasks, and i know 2010 allows syncing of tasks and sms, which the email app should detect.
i dont sync tasks or sms, so not a big deal to me, but i did wonder if the actual email apps were different, or different versions, or maybe one was just modded? *shrugs*.
