This is normal. Google "x10 internal memory" and you'll see why.

thats because the ROM is installed on ur internal memory only so that's what is occupying ur memory and not some large apps..

Try clearing your cache with cache cleaner ng from the market. You'd be surprised how much memory you can free up

[Q] How much space for App Installs?

Quick Question, how much internal storage space is there for app installs on the gTablet? My Nexus S of the 16gigs has 1gig for app installs, Captivate/Vibrant has 2gigs. Curious about the gTablet i'll be receiving soon. Hopefully it's a decent amount (1gig or more)
Just normal basic app install (no root, apps2sd, external internal sd, etc.)
About 1.7GB, on a clean system, for user apps. And about 12GB for content.
Is it possible to increase from the 1.7 GB?
It's already full as of today. I guess I will get some space after uninstalling trillian.

When i check the internal memory status from Appsmonster, ive seen the internal memory size is only 500mb instead of 1gb! How much internal memory hv u got?

I believe the specs says 512mb of ram, and 1gb of ROM. What is the difference I don't know, but I"m sure it runs out of "ram". I don't know if we have access to the "rom". Hope it helps!

um.. I'm talking about Rom, not RAM. Internal memory is Rom. It should have 1GB ROM, but only showing 550mb...
Anyway, I've solved the problem, the logservice of Dell Venue keeps creating log files up to 2mb each each time I force close the apps, and therefore has eaten up all ROM! I've got to root it to clear these useless log files.
Oh, sorry, didn't know the phone had EXTERNAL ram...my bad. You see, my Venue has 512MB INTERNAL RAM and 1GB INTERNAL ROM. Where did you get your Venue from...???
I didn't mean to offend you and thanks for your reply. Anyway i've checked my friend's Venue and it's also showing 550mb, very strange indeed.

Hi, can you tell me where log files are kept? Since I found out this issue, when Force Close happens, I choose Log to SD Card then I can delete manually. But for ones logged on ROM I don't know where.
My Venue rooted.

[Q] Device memory only 1.97Gb?

Hi,
I actually picked the S2 over the Sensation because of the slightly higher specs and the fact that phone has 16gb internal memory. Being new to android (switch from iPhone) I really don't get what device memory is and why it's filling up so fast. I have barely installed 5 tiny apps and already 140Mb out of the 1.97Gb has already been used. I installed loads of apps on my iPhone and I intend to do that same on my new one so could someone please explain this concept of device memory and what exactly is stored in there. Also, if I run out of device memory, how do I free it up or increase the 1.97Gb limit?
2GB /data rest as internal sd card, system partition, cache, etc.
You can move apps to sd card if the data partition is full.

Relax, there's plenty of space. I've more than 80 apps installed, and they uses 664MB, so around 240 apps before memory is filled up... Remember that large games like Gameloft games installs their main data on the 12GB partition. And there is also a possibility to move most of the apps to that area as well, but it is unlikely that you need that.
The 140MB used on your phone probably includes some pre-installed apps.
Phew! That's big relief... Thanks so much. Just one last small doubt, I realized that only some apps are allow to be moved to the SD card while others like facebook have the this option greyed out. Why is this exactly?
some apps have the ability to be moved to sd card while others dont due to the way they are built..
can use device internal memory to store app data?
guys is it possible to use the device internal memory (1.9gb) to store app data in absence of internal and external SD card? my camera/apps don't run in absence of the SD card any way to get around this by using the the device internal memory? ( i have 1.5gb free after installation of all the necessarily apps)

[Q] Internal storage not displaying correct amount of free space...

On the applications page on my phone, it says there is 1.4GB free of internal storage, yet when I plug it into my PC it says there is only 5.45mb. I can't install any app's even though I have deleted about 150mb worth of apps...
Help would be appreciated!
I noticed on mine that under Settings->Apps it indicates 1.6gb free for internal, but on the PC is indicates 10GB free. I am assuming only a certain amount of internal space is made available for apps? Of course a workaround is sliding in an SD card, but there has to be a better answer!

How much actual storage for apps?

Hey I was wondering how much space for apps there is for the z2. Can anyone confirm this? I know it's 16gb with 11gb of usable storage. But how much of that actual 11 can you install apps+data on? You can download an app called "disk usage" if you don't know.
Currently using an S2 with 12gb of usable storage, but only 2gb for apps.
