[Q] Restore Original Applications - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I may have deleted some applications with Titanium Backup and didn't back them up, oops! stupid i know.
Is it possible to completely reset the phone so all the apps that came with it are fully restored? I want the phone to be fully restored like it was when i first got it.
I have tried a "hard reset" but that obviously doesn't restore uninstalled apps.
If not, is there anything i can do?
p.s the main thing i'm pissed off about is the TTSservice crap, i deleted it and now Google Navigation keeps crashing, what if i uninstall Maps and reinstall, would that restore TTSService?

Factory Reset?
*2767*3855# or
Flash your firmware again.

No idea, try that, if unsuccessful, then flash your firmware back again via Odin.

Please HELP - Data network not working

All of a sudden, my network data has stop working.
Of course, i've switched it on, and also turned the phone on and off and taken the battery in and out to make sure. I've also tried another SIM. Strangely, this other SIM worked yesterday, and then when i put my SIM back in my data network came back again. So i was happy, until this morning when it has stopped working again!
I am really getting frustrated about this because this is not the first problem i am facing.
Please help. What can i do?
Btw, my WiFi works perfectly fine.
sorry cant help ya, but i do kno however that a thread titled "please help" will not get much...

Yes i have rooted.
Baseband: I9100XXKDJ
Kernal version: I9100XWKDD.
I did the KE2 one basically.
Okay i will reset factory settings, but how do i save my apps? I don't have any pics or sms or anything like that, just the apps i care about. I have Titanium Backup Pro, but wouldn't Titanium delete itself if i did a reset? :s
Which firmware shall i flash? And do i flash the stock one or the unsecure one?

You can use either titanium backup or appbrain.
Pick any stock firmware and give it a go. Then reinstall titanium backup and u can reinstall your apps. But b4 u do make sure your problem is fixed

Oh man, THANK YOU!!! It's sorted!!! Got data network back, apps back as well!!
As i was reinstalling one by one from TB, i noticed that the problem reoccurred when i reinstalled Root Explorer with the data included, so i reinstalled it without the data but just the app and all is fine again.
Once again, thank you!

"Process android.process.media has stopped" after JB update

Hey guys, I can't even use my phone after the official update of the Jelly Bean (via Kies). After booting, the phone freeze almost completely and pop-up this message. Any fix without reseting ? I tried cleaning the cache but the problem isn't fixed
If anybody had this issue, can give me an idea about how to fix it ? Thanks
Try clearing its data in app manager
Nop, can't find it. I tried cleaning most of data but nothing works :/ Damn...is Samsung able to do something without bugs ?
that's why no one uses kies
Factory reset or download an Odin version and flash with Odin

Yeah, I like to root, but not to change the rom Now I need to root again. At least the issues has been solved.
Fixing permissions usually solves that problem barring that a full wipe and start again.

As I got the official update, I lost the root, I tried to clear the cache and as I've seen that is not working and the phone was freezing each 5 seconds I got a bit scared to start rooting it. I wiped it, installed my apps and now everything is ok. However, it's weird that I didn't got the apps automatically installed like it's happened last time when Amazon replaced my S3 for some screen issues (some scratches inside the screen). I just added my google account and everything started installing automatically. Not this time...
just downloaded jelly bean tonight and having this issue. has anyone come up with a solution that does not involve a full hardware restart???
Had same problem after I updated 3 months ago. I think was an incompatibility with an app or something has not updated completely. Fixed it with factory reset.
You can backup apps with Samsung Kies I think if you don't want to lose progress in games, the other stuff is automatically synced

I'm afraid it'll probably have to be a full reset just make sure you've backed up.

You don't need to do a reset before restoring, but I always do, and if I am going from/restoring for example, a CM7 to a CM10 ROM, I will always do a full wipe via fastboot. I believe it's not so important if you are going GB to GB, etc., but really, for all the time it takes, wouldn't you rather just do it cleanly?
Thx man
Same thoughts here

DON'T do a factory reset! OP states he is on 4.04. Search 'emmc brickbug', you may have it as you're on 4.0.4. If you do have the brickbug, a factory reset will brick your phone.
OP, by 'losing your data' do you mean photos etc? If so, you can flash a new firmware (download from Samfirmware) using Odin without losing photos etc. However, you will lose your app data (settings of apps etc). Better than having a bootlooping phone though.
then forgot abt the backup

So he doesn't sync contacts to google? (in sync options, 'sync contacts'? if ticked, then all contacts can be restored to phone after signing in to google account on new rom). If you do install new firmware: to be on the safe side, flash an ICS-compatible Siyah kernel using Odin. Then you'll be safe to wipe, as Siyah has the emmc bug (emmc_cap_erase) disabled. Then, flash new firmware in Odin.
Some people report success of upgrading with no loss of data (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116344) so you technically could try upgrading with no wipe.
Flashed New Frimware.
didnet lose any data.
all things fine.thanks guys.

If I were you, I would just backup everything and clean flash. That always fixes that problem. Also, they do have an 11/13 nightly up, try that out too.
First try going to System>Apps>Contacts Storage and clear the data and cache, see if that helps.

Nooooo. That doesn't mean its bricked. It just means one of the APK's got broke, and you just need to reflash with a clean wipe.

Be very careful then. Because clean flashing wipes EVERYTHING. So make sure you back up everything with titanium backup. Then go into your recovery and to wipe/Format data and reinstall

I know how to flash and all that other stuff, but I didn't know what a clean flash was
*****EDIT**** I just backed up my phone in recovery and I wiped it and restored, this error is still hapening
do a adb backup of your contacts and accounts then completely wipe device and reinstall rom
adb backup -apk -shared -all -f C:\nameofbackup.ab <<< this makes backup
adb restore C:\backup\nameofbackup.ab <<<< this restores backup that you made
